"A hit with the locals of Copenhagen, Theo sits just a stone’s throw from the university – it’s not just students that like to come here though, as it’s popular with plenty of seniors too. The room itself is simply furnished, keeping the focus on the company and on the food, with the cooking take on an unfussy modern style that gives equal attention to vegetarian options as to meat and fish dishes. You might find stracciatella with pumpkin, salsa macha and parsley pesto or cod with mashed potatoes, palm cabbage, mussel sauce and kao soi paste. The lunchtime menu represents good value." - Michelin Inspector

We had a very nice dinner here at Theo. We enjoyed the tasting menu, food was really good and service was just as good, very nice people. As in so many other small Copenhagen restaurants, the atmosphere is cosy, you sit a little close, but we don't mind that, but the sound level is really loud. All in all, a very nice evening.

Had a wonderful dinner here. Food was great, especially the sourdough bread that came at the beginning, the starter dishes and the ravioli. Main dish was decent but not as good in comparison. Great wines to pair with the food as well.

I liked the experience overall. It took a few mins longer to be given the menu but it was tolerable. The service was on point and they really took the time to explain the dish. We took the lunch menu with wine pairing. That was a good call since it generally went well with the food. The tiramisu was really good and for me, it is one of the best tiramisu’s I’ve ever had. It was the one with the pistachio which I think made it really stand out. I’d be willing to pay a visit again just to get a taste of it (and share the experience with others!).

We had a wonderful dinner at Theo tonight. Tucked away on a busy street, it was so cozy inside and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very attentive, friendly and efficient. Excellent wine list and drinks menu, with very nice non alcoholic options too! We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Some fun flavours and textures. Good to see Theo using seasonal ingredients! The menu had a great variety of options, while not being overwhelming. The only reason I feel I can’t give 5 stars, is because the time waited for food was very long and the hake portion was just too small. But we noticed other people had the set menu and didn’t wait long, so perhaps we will try that next time!

The food was good, and quick and friendly service. However, the ventilation in the restaurant is terrible. Open kitchen gives the impression that you are sitting next to the oven and smell on your clothes from every dish.

Theo Restaurant in Copenhagen offers an overall delightful dining experience that I would highly recommend, particularly their tasting menu. The variety and quality of dishes presented are impressive, showcasing culinary expertise and creativity. One standout feature was the bread, which was simply exceptional. Each bite was so delicious that I found myself wanting more and more. It set a high bar right from the start. The steak was another highlight of the evening. Cooked to perfection, it was tender, flavorful, and impeccably plated. The attention to detail in its preparation and presentation truly elevated the meal. While the food was outstanding, the service did have a few minor hiccups. At times, it was slightly slow, and there were moments when used dishes lingered on the table longer than expected. However, these small issues did not overshadow the overall positive experience. In summary, Theo Restaurant is a must-visit in Copenhagen, especially for those who appreciate a well-curated tasting menu. Despite the slight delays in service, the superb food makes it a memorable dining destination.

Cozy little restaurant with an open kitchen serving dishes that are easily shareable. Great place to meet up with friends, enjoy a good bite and a drink.

Cozy place for a nice lunch tasting menu it came with beef tartare, we upgraded to the tenderloin, and had a pear dessert with ice cream. The wine tasting was also good, but the final one aged in cognac barrels with the dessert was just a little too much. Good staff and quick service. Highly recommend reservations.
