Controversial Fast Food Chain Chick-fil-A Is Likely Opening a New San Jose Location | Eater SF

"I learned that Napa Valley’s Theorem Vineyards signed a lease for a building at 1364 Lincoln Avenue in downtown Calistoga and filed a liquor license application, which the outlet reports could indicate plans to open a restaurant." - Lauren Saria

We had the most amazing tour, and incredible experience with unbelievable wine tasting! It’s a must experience! From our first encounters with the history of the property (especially the barn), the owners details, and the love that goes into the wine making was absolutely astounding! We toured with Randall’s Wine Tours….without a doubt, the best exclusive tours in the Napa Valley. Thank you for elevating our wine knowledge, looking forward to seeing you soon!

Google
Theorem Vineyards is an absolute gem. The stunning setting, the impeccable service, and, of course, the extraordinary wines make for an unforgettable experience. The Voir Dire Cabernet Sauvignon is simply breathtaking - rich, complex, and with a lingering finish. The knowledgeable staff is passionate about their craft and makes the tasting experience even more enjoyable. If you're a wine enthusiast, this is a must-visit. Scott was an incredible host.

Google
Absolutely fantastic! Wines, service, food, view - hard to beat any of these in Napa and impossible to match them all in the same location. If you have a chance to visit, definitely go.

Google
Scott did a excellent job of explaining the history of this winery.... he was very knowledgeable and went beyond our expectations to explain the different wines and processes necessary to create the exceptional varieties of wine produced at Theorem. It was not just”wine tasting” but an experience of a couple’s dream come true.

Yelp
We have visited here twice and are absolutely blown away with the wines. The views from the barn tasting room are amazing. We loved both of our hosts when we tasted. The intimate tasting is our favorite way to enjoy Napa.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Sasha. Sasha is personable and knew and shared valuable information about Theorem. The grounds are beautiful as is the view. The wines were very good. Our reason for giving it four stars: There was another booking during the time we were there; so we were seated at a table, on a concrete floor in the barrel room with a lot of fruit flies. The actual tasting room was beautiful, and the view tremendous. Unfortunately that was not our experience for $400 dollars. It was so disappointing that paying $200- per person for our tasting ($400 total)- only entitled us to a less than desirable seating. I will also add, we did not buy any wine. It was hard to swallow we would have to buy TWO $435- or more 3 packs, to wipe away only ONE tasting fee. The wines were good, but they did not rival Verite, ADAMVS or Eleven Eleven wines.

Yelp
Loved the wine tasting experience and loved their voir dire!!! Scott was a great host and we all had a great time! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a glass of Sauvignon blanc which was perfect for the super sunny day we were there. Scott gave us a tour of their beautiful grounds and a history of how this winery came about - which was very interesting! The decor was really well done and loved the wine tasting menu card - all the little details were so nice! The cheeses that were paired with the wine was also fantastic. Everything was really excellent!! I cannot wait for our shipment to arrive and to drink the voir dire again!!

Yelp
By appointment only winery! A recently opening to the public by appointment only, Theorem Vineyards is such a charming spot, from design to decor, from the estate vineyard to the gorgeous Mountain View, every little detail has been meticulously built for with love. It's a bit of drive to the farthest part of Calistoga. It's 1- 1.5 hours from downtown Napa to get here. So if you were planning a day trip coming from Silicon Valley or SF, I suggest to hit Theorem Vineyards first, and other wineries along the way back down to Napa! Give yourself 1-1.5 hrs of visit, take your time and enjoy this gorgeous place. Since it by appointment only, it's never be crowded and you feel very special here. They only produce 2 wines and a few vintages back. They were fantastic wines, Estate Vineyard only, and if you a Cab lover, this hits the spot for you! They currently offer 2015, 2016 and a few magnum for older vintages back to 2012! The Hawk's Prey was great and you can enjoy it now or for later. Voir Dire is the flagship wine of Theorem Vineyards. Produced from the oldest vines on their Diamond Mountain estate, this is also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and it is a complex, captivating and timeless wine. I would like this to lay down for a few more year so I can truly enjoy it! Under the leadership of consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, think of Schrader Cellars, Maybach, Round Pond, Double Diamond, Heston, Outpost (former), Tamber Bey, Turley (former), Kinsella, Revana, Aston Estate, just to make a few! We were greeted by the handsome and charming James. He was kind, enthusiastic and genuinely love what he does, and it's shown! We learn about the estate, the history, and the amazing fruits producing from this estate! We can't wait to come and also bring our friends/families! They produce such a small production so their wines are sourced after via their wine club members, and a few restaurants locally! Contact the estate to get your hands on these wines before it gets big and we won't be able to afford it!

Yelp
You always read about 'hidden gems', but Theorum Vineyards is just that! Not on a lot of folks' radars, but it should be! To be honest I was drawn to request an appointment simply when our daughter, an attorney, came across their label, Voir Dire, and asked me to look into it. Didn't take me long to realize this was a winery I needed to visit and learn more about. This was especially true when I noted their sixty acres of vineyards are located in the Diamond Mountain AVA, one of our very favorite locations for exceptional fruit making awesome wines! The first thing you notice, after a beautiful drive to the winery, is the old schoolhouse, which still stands. Very cool to see have kept this on site and even built the present winery to coexist so well with it! The vineyards surround the winery and looking one direction you can see progress in action as newly cleared land was ready for the planting of more vines! The winery is beautiful and modern as is their tasting room. The chandelier is an incredible thing of beauty! Speaking of beauty, the wines of Theorem (Voir Dire and Hawk's Prey at this time) are absolutely fabulous wines and the Voir Dire really hit my palate as a new favorite for sure! We came away with both the '14 and '15 vintages for our cellar. When you are putting together your itinerary for a Napa Valley visit, be sure to do yourself a favor and call for an appointment at Theorem! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
We were privileged to experience one of the very first public tastings of Theorem's wine, in their brand new tasting room, and I am absolutely blown away. The wine is some of the best I've ever had. The vineyard itself is private, packed with history and feels very intimate. Everything is unique and packed with attention to detail. It's a beautiful piece of land, and the staff clearly LOVE what they do. Isaac, Cathleen and James treated us SO well. If you get a chance to go down to the barrel room during your tour, I highly recommend it. The newer Hawk's Prey was our first tasting and it was SO GOOD. If you can, go for the Voir Dire 2012 or 2013. Those are heroic on the delicious scale.

Yelp
A year and a half ago I tried to set-up a private tasting. At that time Theorem was in the process of getting their venue established in order to accommodate such requests. Undaunted! On Monday I succeeded in having a one of a kind awesome experience thanks to Scott and Kathleen. Of course it didn't hurt that from the get-go we all had ties to the Big 12! Combine that with a passion for fine boutique wines and it was a tasting that rivals any I have experienced and that includes my recent visit to Chateauneuf du Pape! To see that the Itkin's spare no expense and outfit their winery with the same top of the line equipment is pretty amazing for an upstart winery. I can't say enough about the caliber and warmth of their employees as well as the knowledge they passed along during our visit. It was truly a 10+ rating experience topped off by a much anticipated shipment delivery at the end of this week of Hawk's Prey! Yummy!

Yelp
I had an awesome tasting experience with host James Cerda at Theorem Vineyards. It is a beautiful setting on Diamond Mountain - much more like what comes to my mind when I think of "wine country," - in stark contrast to the more commercial Route 29. James greeted me with a glass of sparkling wine and reviewed the history of the Vineyard, its Owners and the wines that they craft. James took me for a tour of the wine-making facilities and then brought me to a private tasting room in the old schoolhouse. It provides an incredible view of the valley. James had prepared an impressive display of the wines to be had, with separate pours in wonderful glasses accompanied by outstanding cheeses. It was a very personal and classy introduction to some of the finest wines I tasted during the week. Thomas Rivers Brown is a master wine maker and these wines are a great example of his work. I tasted and purchased the 2014 and 2015 Voir Dire as well as the first release of Hawk's Prey (2016). It was an outstanding experience - thanks James!

Yelp
Our visit to Theorem was truly a remarkable experience. Being familiar with the wines of Thomas Rivers Brown, we set up an appointment to gain more insight into the winery. From the moment we arrived to be greeted outside by Scott with a smile and glasses of wine for our group, we knew it was going to be a special time. Scott and Kathleen took the time to take us through the history and their winemaking philosophies as we tasted/toured throughout the facility. The commitment to quality in operations and customer satisfaction shines through. All this being said, none of this would matter if the wines themselves aren't good. That is definitely not a problem here as their product is on par with any of the top rated wines of Napa (the Hawk's Prey Cab in particular). We would recommend this winery to anyone looking for a unique experience. Thanks again to Scott and Kathleen for a memorable time!
