They have a lot of healthy options for someone who’s bulking, shredding, watching carbs, etc. They have bowls, wraps, juices, smoothies and so many add-ons like sauces, veggies, extra protein, etc. Overall, I love the wide array of choices I get to have here while still maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.
I got the power salmon bowl. You get the option to pick a base like jasmine rice, brown rice, cauliflower, etc. I picked cauliflower. I also added grilled onion, avocado and tzatziki sauce on the side. Also, 2 slices of pineapple, spinach, bell peppers and zucchini are already included in the bowl.
The salmon was flavorful and tender. The cauliflower was a little too hard for my liking, but that’s just my preference. Apparently they didn’t have avocado. I ordered takeout so I wasn’t aware of this until I got home and pulled the lid off my bowl. Overall, the bowl was just okay. I wasn’t very impressed. I didn’t like how there was a lot of juice on the bottom, it look like soup (see photo). I didn’t understand why there would be juice and I think that’s something that should be considered in quality control because, I’ll be honest, it grossed me out.
I called about the avocado and Harrison told me he’ll take my name down and I could just bring it up to someone the next time I go in. Here’s my review for proof when I go in (lol jk).
I haven’t written this place off yet. I really like their focus on protein and the very wide selection of healthy options. I think the juice in my bowl was a mistake (I hope). I also think the bowl would’ve been much better had I picked another sauce and went with rice instead of cauliflower. Nonetheless, that part was my doing and I’m not blaming Protein Source for that.
