Unfortunately, this was a pretty disappointing experience overall. I left smelling like my local dive bar, and there were fruit flies swarming our table for the entire dinner, which was really hard to overlook.
I ordered the chicken presse. I understand the preparation is deliberate, but the very soft bound texture was not to my taste, even though the few bites that were more purely chicken were quite tasty. The purees and jus also just felt decorative, but it needed something more substantial to make it satisfying. Overall I left really hungry, which was frustrating given the $59 bill for one entree and mocktail.
I tried a bite of the steak and fries that my friend ordered. She asked for it medium-medium well (which I agree should be illegal), but it came out closer to rare to medium rare. It was just alright and the fries were standard/average. Other friends enjoyed the mussels and burger, though both felt fairly typical as well.
Service was good overall, if a little clumsy at times - understandable for a new restaurant. DDP can be hit or miss, and sadly, this visit felt like a miss.
