"Located on an unassuming street, this gallery-boutique hybrid is one of the most delightfully unexpected finds in LA. Owners Jodi and Stephen Zeigler had their first exhibit in 2014 and have since been featuring some of the most compelling works on display in the city. Hosted in a stellar light-filled room, the art covers a wide range, from nostalgic punk rock memorabilia to experimental photography ane mixed media pieces. (Their most recent exhibit featured a stunning collection of rare posters produced by British band The Smiths.) On the other side of the space is the boutique, where the duo offer a well curated mix of wares, from indigo-dyed fabrics to Le Feu de L'eau candles to out-of-print photography books and zines, all of which make ideal gifts. Great art store and venue with a focus on the LA punk scene. Supports great local artists and always manages to find the best glimpses into the micro cultures of LA sprawl.

Fantastic little shop. Amazing books, artworks and a great place to find unique gifts. They have really cool art shows in their adjoining gallery. Do not miss These Days when you are visiting downtown! This is legit LA. If you are interested in rare punk artbooks it is absolutely worth a trip downtown just for this shop and a chat with the owners. OH, and buy the t-shirt haha! For real tho. So cool.

The curator, Stephen Ziegler (photographer and local hero) has created a unique space always displaying cutting edge subject matter with a punk feel. Indian alley, which is part of the building, outside, is a beautiful mural that honors native Americans and the history of this location. Very cool!

These Days is my favorite shop in dtla. It's located on Indian Alley and if your cool the owner will share it's history with you. It's in a historic building and once inside you are greeted with a warm inviting space filled with a wonderful mix of art and apparel you won't find anywhere else. Check it out.

Yelp
24/600 reviews challenge for 2023. The LA art scene These Days art gallery 5 Stars***** I found this little gem by accident and wanna share it with everyone, its on Winston and main st 1 1/2 blocks from spring street art walk an on the second floor. You have to walk up a flight of stairs but this is cali, so I know you're all in great shape ja! Once I wlaked up there I met the owner I think, Stephan who was this cool cat and fun to talk too. They dont get much foot traffic since its on the other side of spring street, however its worth seeking out. I I love the LA art scene and more importantly the LA art walk. One gets it all from a variety of artisans from weekend warriors to life long professionals displaying and selling their work. From prints, paintings, sketches, stickers, necklaces, shirts, hats, and etc to just name a few.. Having this diverse amount of artist is cool because theres somthing fof everyone to enjoy, buy, and explore. Now im an adventurer so I love going on a hunt for hidden galleries. Theres a map one can acquire that shows a lot of the galleries within walking distance. You can get one at the hive gallery on spring street.

Yelp
[44/100] These Days epitomizes why I enjoy galleries much more than museums, most of the time. I had the pleasure of conversing with Stephen, who is one of the owners. I had a ton of questions since his gallery looked over Indian Alley. He also gave me some insight on Crewest (one of my favorite galleries before it closed down). It was nice to connect with a gallery owner, most if not all I visit don't provide that experience. There are two rooms accessed by two flights of stairs. One being the gallery that showcases the current installation and then the bookstore that also sells a variety of merchandise. I purchased a fig leaf candle and I can't wait to light it up. It smells lovely. Both rooms are well lit and inviting. I was the only visitor so I had the entire space to myself. The current exhibition is "Afraid of Modern Living" by World Imitation & Monitor. There's a map that shows where to begin. I didn't know until I saw everything and did it backwards, but that's the beauty of art, there are plenty of tries. I will definitely have to make a visit at a opening night. I can imagine how this place fills up. Pros: - Dope, down to earth Owner - In walking distance of plenty of other shops. - Parking isn't as challenging as other parts of DTLA - Free admission - They have a blog - They have restrooms Cons: - none so far

Yelp
(Attended 10/21/17 SA @ 1:00pm): "These are the days..." I was a HUGE The Smiths and Morrissey fan, and found out that These Days featured an exhibit of these two important and influential music acts. After my first visit, would I be interested in counting the days to future exhibits!?: THE EXHIBIT: "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish: The Smiths & Morrissey Collection 1985 - 1995" (September 7 - October 22, 2017) https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=AnkHeMXJAhhiIMuwZRC6dQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw An exclusive sale ($600-$1800) and exhibition that featured rare UK subway and promotional posters from the archive of an anonymous collector, you were treated to eleven massive prints that covered select album and single releases, as well as promotional magazines, press clippings, record sleeves and the like https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CV9nNBnZIjqS333Wl-sxSg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, and a whimsical collection of Morrissey bobbleheads https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=efGfhw0pRwdDnydM98wItQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. The exhibit took minutes to get through and was self-guided. PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance) - I went Metro (Pershing Square Station) then walked the rest of the way. Otherwise, there were plenty of metered parking on all surrounding streets (read all posted signs carefully) and private lots that charged various rates. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE - [DISCLAIMER: This would change from one exhibit to the next] A non-descript building except for the front entrance https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=T6QjJtEQQ8WOEUz7gEWtIA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. You climbed two steep flights of wooden stairs to the 2nd Floor where you were greeted by a Morrissey cardboard cutout lily-filled vases, and a "Viva Hate" framed poster https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bMeoWwu0a8UJJ_EgIq2Cig&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. The layout was separated into a medium exhibit room and a small gift shop https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mpzbURyGZWLI0apkIEs_WQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the many glass windows while minimal electric track lighting covered the rest. There were no TVs although Morrissey's "Bona Drag" CD fittingly played in the background. ATTIRE - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL, These Days was definitely a small hidden gallery gem among all the various street murals and toy warehouses. The space was minimal at best, but as long as a given exhibit was curated properly that shouldn't matter. I thought it was cool how disguised this place was, and my return depended upon future exhibits and/or if admission were free. But I'm a lover of the arts so it had my attention; and, as with art my opinion was purely subjective. And...it was a great photo op with one of my favorite covers https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KCazfYzZChmqjeCXGF-G-Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $0.00 BEFORE any discounts and tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Yelp
When I stumbled upon this place they were closed for the summer for renovation but Stephen was very nice to accommodate me (even offered me free parking) so that I could purchase my Colleen Hennessy ceramic ware. I hope you carry more of her pieces in the future. Thank you for being so kind! I absolutely love my plate - it's so simple, well made and just beautiful - especially when plated; it photographs well too! I'll be sure to pay a visit again soon to explore the gallery at leisure.

Yelp
L.A. staple. The owners are sweethearts. The art, clothes, and conversation are all five-star.

Yelp
A small gallery exhibiting a single artists work. In July 2015, the artist was living in the space and discussing gentrification and displacement in Skid Row. Tiny out of the way gallery on a small alley. Good to poke in for a quick view of local DTLA art.

Yelp
Love this little gem... They have amazing artwork on display very diverse and the shop is so darn cute! They have some rare books, little relaxing items like candles and unique incense. The alley is very cool too - a lot of artwork and if you get a chance the owner of the shop can share with you the history about the area. Love these shops in the Historical Core of Downtown Los Angeles :)
