Queer Farmers Are Changing the Landscape | Eater

"Started by Ang Roell—who grew up in Queens and studied environmental education—this beekeeping business focuses on stewardship of hives and bridges urban farming with animal care. It produces and sells raw honey, beeswax, and starter hives, and offers consults to people interested in keeping bees, emphasizing hands-on stewardship as distinct from purely plant-focused urban agriculture." - Jaya Saxena

I can drop a picture of a tight brood pattern here (that goes without saying or showing) but Id rather you see the final result of using these amazing queens. I focus on efficiency in my apiaries; fewer hives that produce massive amounts of honey. These queens encompass everything I seek for in a successful season: robust egg laying, tight brood patterns, disease mitigation and maximum honey production. I still have some that are a few seasons old that are still performing like they are right out of the gate. Very impressed with how educated and professional these queen producers are!

They keep bees are extremely helpful and responsive. Always there to help and give advice if needed and share what their goal is. The communication is on point and very open on stock and when bees or queens or education is available. Finally the queens/bees they supply are amazing stock especially for our new england area . And me as a small scale queen breeder have kept records and evidence of their queens surviving and showing extreme signs of varroa hygenic behavior. I would strongly recommend their queens to anyone serious about starting beekeeping or even advanced breeders.

Always super kind and professional. I got two queens from them when my two of my hives lost their queens. The queens were gorgeous and it was easy to pick them up at the farm.

I have ordered queens from They Keep Bees for the past three seasons. The queens ship on time and arrive quickly. They are well packed with plenty of attendants to keep them warm and fed on the journey. My splits have had no trouble accepting them and the queens quickly begin to lay up a good pattern. Communication with the company about the shipment is good and they are very responsive to questions. I look forward to continuing to incorporate their queens into my operation and recommending them to other beekeepers.

I have long appreciated the efforts of TKB, ingenuity, commitment to quality, and willingness to share knowledge with others. Snazzy email updates, top quality products, and of course good queen bee stock keep me coming back for more. We took a large order of queens for the 2024 season and every single queen was in good health, shipped in quality packaging, and successfully introduced to a new colony. I cannot recommend them enough and look forward to doing future business. James Lee President Sustainable Beekeepers Guild of Michigan, Founder of Northern Queen Initiative

I've been keeping bees for a couple of decades and have never gotten better quality queens than the ones I aquired from They Keep. Great pattern, ready acceptance. So. Good. Also, great people.

This is where they breed all the rainbow trout for the local streams and rivers throughout Franklin County. If you come down here on the right day when there are employees available there is a good chance if you could probably ask them for a bucket of feed, they will give it to you. then you can walk around and feed the fish and watch them Splash about like piranhas it's a really cool experience it's very Serene down here
