The 23 Best Vietnamese Restaurants in Little Saigon, Orange County | Eater LA

"Located across the street from the T&K Food Market, THH Sandwiches is the only banh mi shop that serves shredded chicken breast banh mi. The baguettes are baked on-site, which adds to the visual experience as visitors customize their sandwiches by adding more pate or pickled daikon and carrots. THH also makes delicate steamed rice flour sheets (banh cuon) and a selection of Vietnamese desserts, such as chewy steamed pandan-coconut cake." - Jenn Tanaka

Google
A good little place where I can easily grab some delicious food-to-go. I ordered some cha gio and the Bánh cuốn Phan - had a great portion of ground pork, rice noodle, slices of cha lua , mushroom, shallots, a tofu, also topped with sliced cucumber and cilantro, and bean sprouts. I put extra pepper in the nuoc mam for more flavor.

Google
Super solid place to get some banh mi and other items such as pate chau and congee. I like that they have an open area where you can see them assembling the banh mi. The banh mi is of good size, and the bread and meat combo all tastes pretty good.

Google
Not the place to eat in, but good to take out, the quality of the sandwiches remains constantly good, I would recommend the food here, the prices are fair and the options available are good for Vietnamese style dinner or lunch (to go)

Google
This place is awesome to go place it has a couple of tables and chairs. But usually people just grab and go, because there some food is already packed so you can choose whatever you like on the counter, quick fast and easy, if your in a hurry. Coffee I think its just ok.

pogi talaga fishing

Google
I got here early and ready to eat

Google
Came here for craving banh bao thit. What a disappointment! The bao tasted like frozen. The cust was plain and dried, meat filing was lack of spices and seasonings...

SON LUONG

Google
They charged an extra 25 cents for using a credit card and they did not accept $50 and $100 bills. This is very annoying for buyers. The owner of this shop is very bossy.

Google
Their meatball banh mi is the best here, it’s soft and the sauce is really tasty. The banh duc is also good too. I think it’s worth the price!

Yelp
even though there's only one vegetarian banh mi option on the menu, it still slaps. the tofu shreds are dried and well-seasoned, and the accompanying jalapeños, carrots and cucumbers are fresh and crisp. the bread itself is soft with a good chew and doesn't scrape the roof of your mouth! also, a sandwich for $6.75 that can be split into two meals is much appreciated there's lots of seating inside and lots of other food to purchase to go. the banh mis come out pretty quickly and the ladies working there are super sweet. i also appreciate that they take EBT!

Yelp
We placed a to go order here and it was completed by the estimated time given! I walked in to the store to pick up our order and there were a few people waiting in line. Not as busy as I thought it could be during lunch. The guy at the front cashier wasn't too happy to answer my questions about the snacks they have to offer on the counter. I was curious and thinking to buy a few of them to try so I asked about a few of them. Felt like he was very rushed and irritated. So I stopped asking questions and decided not to buy anything else. Our order consisted of 6 eggrolls, 2 Vietnamese iced coffees, a coconut tapioca cake, and two of the number one combo sandwiches. I do not recommend ordering their eggrolls as they were very stale and did not taste fresh. I think they give you what's sitting in the window for a while :/ the sandwiches were really good vegetables tasted fresh and so did the bread. The meats are very fatty if you're into that sort of thing. The coffees were ok. Not as good as che cali though imo. The cake was eggy smelling and very dry.

Yelp
THH is solid Banh mi with the BEST Vietnamese iced coffee. Get the spring rolls too if you're hungry! The restaurant is more of a quick to-go style shop. I suggest ordering ahead in case they're busy, and note that the shopping center can get a little busy and hectic at lunchtime too. Coffee Tip: It's tempting to drink quickly, but make sure you drink your iced coffee slow so the ice melts into it. A friend told me this is how you're *supposed* to drink Vietnamese iced coffee + it helps with the strength and tastes even better...

Yelp
THH's menu features a wide selection of authentic, flavorful Vietnamese dishes, Banh Mi sandwiches, soups, appetizers, and sides. Definitely if you're a Thai tea fan try the Slushy! All the sandwiches are delicious, I recently tried their breakfast menu and wasn't that bad, I actually really enjoyed it, Bacon, egg, cheese, croissant.

Yelp
Fresh flavorful meat sandwiches with fresh veggies and herbs made to order and never frozen. Delicious coffee and Vietnamese snacks with delightful desserts for the kids. Just like mom's home cooking without the hassle. Come in here today and get a big bite of Vietnamese goodies for you and your lovely family. You will love it and worth the drive.

Yelp
Stopped by for some VNese cáfe and egg roll & lemongrass sandwich b4 heading to airport. Still early so got front door parking , clean & organized, friendly and fast service. All within 5mins. All are good.

Yelp
My go to spot for breakfast sandwich and coffee. It's convenient, quick service. Menu offers good variety for a typical Vietnamese breakfast food. The quality of their food has been consistent for so many years. It's clean inside but I wish the store manager could have paid a little more attention to the store front and the door to keep them cleaner.

Yelp
My son took me here to try some Vietnamese sandwiches. I enjoyed the one with tofu. I also ordered some sesame balls. They were crunchy but not the usual mochi kind.
google avatar

Yelp
The workers were very friendly and fast. My order was made fresh, and I was surprised to see a fresh made vegetarian dish on the menu, not sandwich. Very pleased. Food was really good, I am glad I was in the area to stop by. #26 was my order, and will be my new favorite order for the future

Yelp
I was in the city nearby and wanted some banh mi. I chose to get their đặc biệt ($6.35), Basil seed and grass jelly ($4.45), and Taro ($5.20). Boba is $0.50 extra. The sandwich was made fresh with a window view to see them make them in front of you. Not alot of tables inside and the wait was not too long. The đặc biệt had butter, headcheese, ham, cucumbers, cilantro, and pickled carrots and radish. The bread was soft and chewy. The drinks were good too. They also do catering. $15 min to use a card or $0.25 charge. They have two tables. They have a security guard.

Yelp
Staff are very friendly. The store is clean. There are few homeless outside. Cafe sua da is good. Cha lua is ok but a bit pricy $8.50. Their bread is not as good and fresh as before. The breads are cold, hard and a bit chewy. Hopefully they did not change the suppliers :(

Yelp
Spam and egg sandwich are to die for!! The coffee is pretty good! The dac biet sandwich is 2nd pick. But most of the sandwiches are good including everything on the menu

Yelp
1st time here @ this THH sandwich location. I've gone to the one in Anaheim off Euclid & Ball Road. Love the sandwiches here. There bread are soft & not too hard. What sandwiches I ordered ~ # 1 Dac Biet is always my go to. Love those especially w extra pate. Forgot to request that. ~# 2 Grilled Pork Sandwich for my kid & hubby. Really yummy. Veggies are fresh. Both sandwiches were $ 6.35 Also grabbed the Half Banh Bo $ 3.75 really tasty, not sweet and texture was perfect. Seemed really fresh. Sandwich shop had the interior of a sandwich shop. Had the veggies, meats set up like subway where they make it in front of you. It's clean. They had a few tables to sit and eat along w outside. They offer other Vietnamese dish along with premade spring rolls and other food ready to be purchased to go. A few bakery items too. Service was good & received in a fashion manner. Not long of a wait at all. Located in same plaza & a few doors down to Lucky Seafood Market along w CVS Pharmacy. Same plaza as Tastea Boba shop and other restaurants. Lots of parking available

Andy L.

Yelp
Very good sandwiches. Ordered the number 2 grilled pork and it had a lot of meat in it. The coffee was also excellent. The line was not very long as we went at 8am on a Sunday

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but it was just ok. The bread was stale and the meat was so fatty it was hard to eat. The only good thing was the pate and the veggies. Definitely not coming back anytime soon mm evasion.

Please make sure to check your receipt and Item before you leave you don't get any refund.

Yelp
I do recommend their sandwiches. I'm just posting to make sure the correct hours are posted because someone keeps changing the business hours to the incorrect time.

Yelp
Love this place the take EBT, I really like the shrimp with the noodles & veggies. My favorite thing is probably their Ice coffee it definitely gets the job done
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the freshest delicious bread. My favorite sandwich is the number two grilled pork and everything always taste so fresh.
google avatar

Beth T.

Yelp
Grilled/bbq pork was neither, with vermicelli noodles was a 2/10. The pork seemed to be deep fried and was mostly fat. Veggies were fresh but couldn't carry the rest of the meal. There are too many Vietnamese restaurants around to come back to this one. Wish the food was better because I was really looking forward to it.

Yelp
Food looks delicious! The sandwich prep area has lots of fresh ingredients!! We got spring rolls to go . They look and taste awesome !!! Service was good too . Lots of parking in the lot serving CVS and a grocery store .

Yelp
Disappointed!! i called the place ahead of time to check and make sure they have the rice flour sheets with pork. They said they do. When I got there, I've waited about 5 mins for my order. Came home and they only gave me plain rice flour sheets with NO pork! smh.... i should've checked my order before i left the place. so disappointed.

Yelp
First time at this location of THH. I just wanted a few sandwiches to go and I grabbed a plate of banh beo too. I paid and waited for my order. They take credit cards for purchases over $8. That's pretty specific. I totally forgot to grab an ice coffee with my order and decided against it due to the $8 rule because I would have had to get back in line to place another order. Service on a Sunday was fast and it wasn't super busy. I stopped by because I was in the area and wanted some banh mi. I had them place the veggies separate so that it wouldn't get super soggy by the time I reached home. The sandwiches were good. It hit the spot for me. This location isn't as big as the other ones I've been to but has ample parking for patrons.

Yelp
So disappointed with this place. When they first opened, this place was highly regarded because there was finally a THH in the heart of the Garden Grove area. They were booming with great food as expected from the THH brand/name and there was good quality control while owners were present with launching this business. Such a shame how things have changed over the last year or so. I came here to pick up a quick dinner for my husband and me around 5:45 p.m. today (July 28) and it was much slower than I remembered in recent past. I can now see why, food quality was no longer in existence as we found a strand of hair in my husband's sandwich, absolutely disgusting. Needless to say, we definitely will not be coming back to this location which is disappointing because it's on my way home from work and was super convenient. I hope the owners read this post and revaluate/retrain their staff on sanitation practices.

Yelp
We came to order breakfast and asked for "Chè" and the cashier said "We do not have CHÈ" We came over the station and said " I want this, please!" And she kept telling us " it is not CHÈ, it's SÂM BỔ LƯỢNG" We thought "okie okie, never mind it" but actually SÂM BỔ LƯỢNG is not CHÈ?????? Anyway, she gave us a big straw and not giving us a spoon. Then, we asked for it but she seemed ignore it. We were waiting a bit and kept asking her for it. Finally she got it for us. I don't appreciate the customer service here. Bad attitude and childish.

Yelp
My go-to for quick service Vietnamese food! Their fresh baguettes are some of the best in the area (this location specifically), their spring and summer rolls always hit the spot, and the fish porridge is always a staple (especially on sick or gloomy days). Another favorite of mine is their banh uot (steamed rice flour sheets). I love the plain ones without a meat filling, topped with slices of their steamed pork loaf!

Yelp
I usually don't do reviews for sandwich places like these because they're a dime a dozen. So many of them in GG that none really stand out. I had a training in my office today and needed 20+ sandwiches: Dac Biet and thit nuong seems to be the favorite so that's the order I placed, in addition to the Bi chay for my vegetarian agents. I was so impressed with the quality of the foods, plenty of thit in the thit nuong sandwiches and my Dac Biet with extra PATE at no extra charge, was icing on the cake. Forget Banh mi che Ca li, or Lee's, pickle Banh Mi or Lynda's sandwich, OMG I have tried it all and too many to list. same old same old and always skimpy on the meat, or stale bread:( Today my DAC BIET had the perfect amount of meat, pickled veggies, extra pate, and cucumbers, just the way I like it. I usually order a sandwich, toss half of the bread and take the meat from the half to combine to make a heartly stuff banh mi. Today with THH, I finished everything, my sandwich was stuffed perfectly with all the goodies. I guess I found my GO TO place for VIET sandwiches from now on. Service was also super sweet as these ladies are very accommodating. Place was also very clean which I am very picky about. Many of these Viet establishment are so disgusting but this one was nice and neat and clean.

Yelp
I've only ever eaten at the Tustin location, which I loved. Saturday dinner time was in the area and wanted to go down to Tustin location to grab the delicious grilled pork banmis. But when Google map said Tustin location closes at 6pm, and it was almost 6, I quickly searched and found Garden Grove location, which opened until 7:30pm, hallelujah! Took longer from Orange area to get to GG location and it is in a massive connected plaza so took a bit of effort to find (ended up being right next to the big CVS, so just go to the cvs and will see it). Only one person in front and got my order in for the 2 banmis. The young man taking the order was superb. Very quick in processing the order. He was helping the person waiting for his food explaining all the questions that person had and quickly processed additional order when that person wanted something else he saw while waiting. Could feel the gears in that young man's brain spinning. Anyway, the location is smaller than the Tustin, but seemed setup to churn out sandwiches right next to the door. The remaining pork in the tray looked a bit dry, but maybe they weren't making more though closing time was well over an hour away... However, the baguette ended up tasting kinda stale when eating... Maybe it's just not good to go towards end of the day, since maybe the ingredients stop being fresh? Guess I haven't tried dinner time at the Tustin location before so maybe it's the same towards dinner time. Morning and lunch times at Tustin I've always gotten delicious bread, but probably best to avoid ordering banmi at dinner time... Still ate it up, since even older pork and stale bread is decent, lol.

Yelp
#2 grilled pork banh mi is my favorite! They're hefty and the bread is not overly crisped where it hurts my gums. I also get the banh hoi with Vietnamese "ham" meal already prepared in the plastic to go box by the cash register. I really enjoy eating this over a huge bed of salad and it can produce 2 big meals for me. Tips: 1) jalapeños are very spicy (atleast for me). I usually ask for these to be removed 2) buy extra, easily stolen from the fridge by family (speaking from experience) I love this location because they're extremely clean and you can watch everything being carefully prepared for you.
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
THH Sandwiches is the ultimate place to satisfy your banh mi craving. I got their grilled pork banh mi (#2) with extra pickles. The sweetness of the pork and the satisfying crunch of the pickles is perfect. The ladies working behind the counter are very sweet and efficient. When I walked in there seemed to be a steady pace of customers. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Wrong business hour Came in at 6 and the lights were off. Some workers were starting coming into work.

Mis F.

Yelp
I seriously been here enough times and too many are eventful with frustrations of waiting and timing. They don't manage time right and when you have 5 people get their order before you while already waiting 10 min just to order is ridiculous. Other times, ordered in advance, long wait and they're heating up oil or it seems to be something. I just can't come back here anymore or at least this location is portly managed. They don't seem to care or don't get it.

Linh T.

Yelp
nice staffs good foods price reasonable....and please let customers use credit card minimum amount $10 that will be great. Thanks

Yelp
I used to really like this place. The inflation has not been kind to the pricing here. I just picked up a small little styrofoam tray of Goi Ngo Sen for $10.00 and 3 little spring rolls in a pack for $6.00. My total for those 2 items was $16.00 plus tax. Sorry, I want to support small business, but I can't go broke in the process.

Yelp
25 minutes. That's how long it took them to make one portion of Bun rieu when I came in during a slump (it was me and another customer). Was getting sick of hospital cafeteria at work, so wanted to change to the food options for today. Picked up a serving of premade bun thit nuong, but if I had known the bun rieu would've taken so long, I wouldn't have ordered it. With work staff stretched thin, even being a few minutes late takes a toll on everyone. Thh needs to put a warning on items on their menu that will take longer than the 10-15 minutes most other places take to prep something. But 25 minutes is insane, especially if you've got that many workers standing around and just two customers. No apology or acknowledgement. In fact, my order wasn't checked up on until I asked the sandwich prep lady to look into my order. This place has gone downhill since my last review.
google avatar

Ann L.

Yelp
Love this place. Foods are good and everyone is nice and friendly. Can't go wrong with their patechaux (pork), banh mi thịt nguội #5 and banh canh gio heo. I've tried beef stew bo kho, cháo cá and bánh cuốn, they're all good. Definitely recommend this place :)

Yelp
When I'm in SoCal , I always love to give new places a try. Our usual banh mi place is banh mi Che Cali cause it's been consistent and has had some packed banh mi. We had heard of THH and we ordered online and picked up in store. While that was a perk and super easy through their app. They didn't have as many things to choose from on the app as in store. We got the lemongrass beef and cold cut combo. The bread for starters is pretty soft and flakey and it didn't cut the roof of our mouthes. But when we actually started eating we noticed how skimpy the fillings were. I barely had any pate, but a ton of Mayo. Meats and veggie wise it was the skimpiest banh mi I've ever had. Any other banh mi I have had in sf, sj and even oc has never been this skimpy. While the bread was the saving factor , the meats were ok but just wish there was a little more. Overall, this place is ok. Maybe we came on a off day but we'll probably give it another shot in the future. Total for 2: $12

Yelp
Went and bought a few things to prepared for Vietnamese/Lunar New Year. Decided to try their Vietnamese Sticky Rice Cakes. Bought three sticky rice cake, one to eat and the other two for gifts to friends. Unfortunately, one I kept to eat and enjoy tasted bitter and the other two also undercooked. Called the store to let them know and one of the female staffs told to bring them back to do an exchange. I can only brought the one I have back because it was not convenient for my friends to take them back, so that's okay....they will just don't want to buy next time. When I got to the store, I decided to used up the amount with other items in their store instead because I don't want to waste another trip to exchange. I know it's not easy to have those sticky rice cakes (round and square shapes) to be perfect sometimes. Most of them will be undercooked and that's what I always afraid of.

Hung L.

Yelp
Sandwich is good but the service is really bad no smile no thank you .... Only the mean faces to customers, just like you ask for free food

DeViLpUp D.

Yelp
I had #1 House Special baguette. It is about 8-inch long with plenty of variety of of deli slices, shredded daikon, carrot, cucumbers, green pepper, cilantro, etc. I eat this nearly every other week. Beef Stew is my other favorite bowl with large chunks of beefs, carrot, tasty thick stew/ broth. Thank you for serving quality foods.

Yelp
So I came here with my girl after the visit to the Fountain Valley Hospital. So she order an Banh Mi Thịt nguội , they gave us the wrong sandwich, gave us BanhMi Cha instead but also went very cheap on the Cha. 1 small slice of Cha , didn't even cover the whole sandwich. Paid 6.75 + 1.00 because we didn't pay with cash. (The whole Vietnamese business who cheat on Taxes is stupid, wish there was laws against those cash only restaurant.) Anyways I feel ripped off and just wanted to share my experience and probably my last time going to this location unless the management do something about policy and food preparation standards. Thanks.

Yelp
WEIRD STUFF IN COFFEE AND DRINK . Been to this place many times since its on my way going to work. I found a piece of rubber glove on my coffee here. So i called and tell them to be more careful. I wasn't gonna leave a bad review, since people made mistakes and nobody is perfect. They did apologized. So today, i order a green been panda leaves drink, and OMG there was a chunk of some white crusty object in my drink. OMG how can you be so careless. I hope this does bring some attention to the owner, because this is not good. Will not return

Yelp
Really enjoy ordering from here! The delivery is relatively cheap and the food is affordable as well. Compared to similar restaurants, the place holds its own and being that this is local to me, I've always been interested in trying it out after passing by a number of times. The taro and avocado smoothies are my go-to and they aren't overwhelmingly sweet. The sandwiches are good too, and the bread is always fresh. Definitely need to come back for more!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite spot for spring rolls, I swear if I could come here daily I would. The service is great and the wait time is almost non existent. Fresh spring rolls 12/10 sooo good.

Yelp
Good quality banh mi for reasonable price. Definitely like THH vs Lee's (which seems to have gone down the tubes in quality).

Yelp
There's some confusion when you search for the Anaheim vs Garden Grove location. I had got door dash from Anaheim and then we tried to go to Anaheim and ended up at the GG location off Brookhurst. Anyway, when arriving to the shopping center things look fine but as soon as you get off the car you can see how filthy the parking lot is, including the sidewalk ways in front and around the restaurant. I was hoping it'd be cleaner inside. It's really small, which is fine, but I noticed when going to throw away my straw plastic how filthy their garbage can was. It's covered in gunk and should be one of the things that's disinfected OFTEN since trash cans are known to get dirty with pieces of food when sliding trays inside. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. The employees were nice and the food was okay but we also noticed a difference in the sandwiches from the Anaheim location we received. Cleanliness is a big thing for me. Even if the food was good and employees were nice, if it's dirty I can't enjoy it. I looked around for the grade and couldn't see it.

Yelp
I was going to give this place a 2 for some many different reasons but it took so long to write this review that now it's a 4 lol Even places that are below average, I'd still come back to give it another try especially when it's convenient. I used to frequent TTH on Euclid when I lived closer to it. The Euclid location is bigger, busier, more premade options, and also cheaper. The premade options are very underwhelming compared to the Euclid location. While the store is smaller and not as busy, the wait always seems to be longer. They are definitely not as efficient here. I think the prices are also higher than the Euclid location. So I ordered chicken Banh Canh to go. When I got home, I noticed the broth was all over the bag. I thought maybe because they didn't close the lid tightly. It turned out the broth pretty much melt through the styrofoam (see pictures). I have ordered the same thing and other hot soup items at the Euclid location many times and this never happened. This chicken Banh Canh was good. But this is just unacceptable. What happens if I had spilled it all over my car? I was pretty upset and was gonna give this place a 2 star rating. But I waited too long to write the review and had been back so many times, so it doesn't feel right to give a place I frequent a 2 star rating lol The worst item here has got to be wonton noodle soup. Wow...it is soooo hard to mess this dish up and they somehow managed to do it Dishes I like: Banh mi xiu mai (I saw a review and someone said this place is stingy and only gives 2 meatballs for the sandwich. Well, sorry girl but they only give 1!!! I've ordered here multiple times and have always watched them. Always just 1 meatball - sooo stingy for a $5 sandwich) Banh beo - decent Egg rolls/ patechaud - not bad Banh cuon - good Chao ga (chicken congee) - good for when you're sick Bun rieu - not good like Euclid location Spring rolls - not sure if I eat too much of this but not as good as it used to be Sticky rice - I like this dish Mi xao - not bad, but underwhelmed Durian smooth - yummy

Yelp
Located conveniently next to a big Asian grocery store, their sandwiches are the best. All the employees are super nice and they are always fast.
