Loved their hot chocolate and grilled cheese sandwich. Lot of quick bite menu options.

Terribly slow service. Yapping at the bar all morning long, meanwhile several drink orders piled up. If you have all morning to wait for a coffee, only for it to taste sour/bitter due to no dialing in of the machine, this is the place for you! Don’t come here if you expect quick and quality service. Staff is mostly polite, but no sense of urgency and need proper training on dialing in an espresso machine. Staff talking about being hung over after the Super Bowl, walking to the kitchen with other employees to chat instead of making drinks with proper technique. Bitter bean water served. Gave a it a few tries but there are much better shops in the area.

Beware! The chocolate chip cookies are not good do not fall for the hype. They are more sugary than buttery or vanillay. and the chocolate tastes like medium grade milk chocolate :/ atmosphere and service was nice

Update: 9/5/23 - the wifi still often does work here. Good vibe, but can get crowded because it's near NYU. In summary, Think Coffee on Mercer Street in NY is a great cafe with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Their coffee is delicious and their food options are appealing. The staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend trying it out!

Simple flat white Good selection of baking goods including gluten free

Cool place with a large space, which makes the task of finding a free table super easy. Many people come here to work on their computers and it still feels very airy, quite and welcoming. But the sitting area inside is very dark and the coffee got a score of 8 out of 10 from my friends.

Great coffee and especially great pastry treats. The atmosphere is what StarBucks used to be in the beginning. Cozy and chill. I really hope that they keep this alive and don't slip off to StarBucks is right now. Keep up the good work!

This Think Coffee location is not a place where straight-haired staff (of any hue) welcomes dark-skinned women with "nappy" hair, as my phenotype automatically deems me unattractive. It saddens me that in the twenty-first century, numerous companies do not understand that treating darker-skinned women with non-straight hair as human beings, versus criminals, will bring in more profits. If this company continues to value colorism and misogynoir, they will continue losing revenue they could have gained from humanizing women of my particular phenotype. Management does not exhibit empathy and compassion (a hostile and manipulative response I received via email clearly showed this), which automatically tells me every individual on their team has not processed any trauma, as-ault, ab-se, rage, hurt, pain or invalidation they've experienced as children and/or adults. When individuals - be they baristas, managers or CEOs - have done the emotionally challenging work of processing their private pain (versus denying it like billions of humans do every day), it will show in their values, in their hospitality and in their compassionate response to incidents. I wish their humanity the best.

Decent coffee but pretty expensive for a standard latte. I didn't even get an alternative milk and the latte was $7.50. It tasted fine but I'd rather go somewhere else for the price. They do have a lot of seating if you need somewhere to do work.

The staff is great and the cafe is spacious! The rose latte was so bad haha! It tasted like espresso and milk with strawberry Nesquik. The regular latte is good though!

It's a. It hard to find this place since under the construction. You can find various tables couch seats or chair. By the window tables are nice and cool. Friendly barista :) non judgmental vibes. Free water set up - self-serve. outside seatings are available too.

Think coffee was the first coffee shop I went to when I visited NYC. I went to the location close to NYUs campus (Think Mercer). It was raining so a hot cup of coffee will always fix a cold day for me. I ordered the Spanish Latte, an espresso w/ condensed milk. Very delicious. The milk wasn't overpowering so I was able to taste the espresso which I always look forward to for any latte. Staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable with their types of coffee. I might just order some coffee to brew at home! Unfortunately, I live in LA so I may need to visit NYC more often for a Spanish latte.

Been here both in the scorching heat and during the colder times of the year and yet I've yet to have a terrible experience. Granted the bathrooms aren't the nicest but this place is spacious, the service was fine, and the coffee tasted like fresh coffee. I'm an all black coffee drinker so some might get me and others shake their heads at this but I'm ok with it. Look.... this place is great for any type of meet up, to get work done or just to stop in and grab n' go. If you want great coffee to your liking... make it yourself otherwise enjoy this establishment for what it is.

I had the worst service ever at the 4th Ave location. It seemed like everyone there hated their job. When I asked a simple question about whether the coffee was mine, they exploded in response. It was unreal. If you don't want to serve people, don't work in the service industry. I think I will get my coffee somewhere else from now on.

Think coffee has a nice space for working from cafe and/ or chitchatting with friends.

I give this place 2 stars for the spacious seating areas and the decent food and drinks. I have to admire how this place functions as so many things other than a cafe. Lots of people bring their dogs to hang out with them. Employees obviously see them but don't say anything. If you're not interested in buying anything, you can apparently still come in, take a seat and plug your phone, tablet or laptop to charge into their outlets, then leave when you're done

The coffee is decent but this establishment is DIRTY. Gross table tops, all sticky. I wanted to sit and drink my latte but I couldn't find a clean table. I will say the pumpkin bread was good but I don't think I would go back despite the convenient location to NYU.

Great coffee shop to study in and has a good atmosphere! There are many outlets and abundant seating here. Their food, coffee, and overall service is also very good.

This place was delicious!!!! The pastry's were fresh and the coffee just hit the spot! The service was good but the wait was pretty long. The ambiance was beautiful a good environment to get work done or study for a test!!! Very pretty for pictures!

Tried a NY bagel, vegan egg and cheese bagel sandwich, chai tea muffin and a cold brew. Pros: - nice, friendly staff - plenty of space to work and relax - wide variety of food, beverages and snacks to choose from - the NY bagel was solid. - they compost everything!!! Cons: - the vegan egg and cheese had a strange taste and was a bit fishy. It could just be the vegan egg - the bagel was delicious. - the cold brew was mediocre. It lacked any flavor or depth. - the chai muffin was pretty dense and hard to eat. - the music blasting was awful. Think of the worst covers of songs you already kind of hate blasting at full volume. Thank goodness for noise cancelling headphones.

Nice spacious place for breakfast with spacious indoor seating. They do take temperature checks if you are planning to dine in. Social distancing enforced. Had tea and bagel for breakfast here - cafe seating is spacious but as the place fills up it does get loud. Plenty of bakery items to choose from. Given college local favorite, came here on a Sunday when it was quieter with less people in the morning. Restroom is unisex and need a code to get in - ask the staff for the code. they have several locations around the city...

$7 coffee with regular milk and they filled the cup with ice almost up to the brim.... Overpriced ... coffee was gud tho

Quick and easy order with a good selection of both teas and coffee. Have dropped by everyday the past week and docking one star for inconsistency of (1) vax card check (2) temp check (3) social distancing in the waiting area for your order. I've been lucky to have come in on slower days except for today wherein it was super packed and I had to wait for 15mins in an unruly line for my coffee. But the servers are super nicer and try to manage the line as much as they can. Go to orders - chai oat latte, almond milk latte. Everything is reasonably priced as well. So well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Stopped in yesterday with a friend on the spur of the moment (whatever that means) for a coffee and a pecan fig bar. Place was busy but staff was very friendly and they kept the line moving. They have a lot of seating but even more customers. Luckily we found a table just before they all got taken. Crowd other than us seemed to be heavily NYU students. My coffee was nice and strong and my pecan fig bar amazingly delicious. My buddy felt his Cortado was excellent. Great place!

I have loved and been a regular customer of Think for some years now. I am very upset though that you can no longer buy a small cup of tea and so a cup of tea is now more than $5!! I like my Earl Grey strong and so ask for the small cup and in fact bought the re-usable small cup and so am now paying more than $5!!! for a small cup of tea. . . .Tea drinkers unite! This is ridiculous!!

Still one of my favorite spots when your in the area and itching for good coffee with small banquets and tables to sit and relax. Staff friendly and place is very clean. If your looking for plugs, they can be sparse, so bring battery packs when camping out for the day. The pastries are fresh and will get you by. Inside is quiet, but seating outside is not. Definitely a great spot to meet friends or catch up on work!

Lots of room in this coffee shop. Definitely a good study/meeting space (maybe a bit too loud at times to study). Staff is very friendly! I was a bit indecisive but the lady taking my order was very patient and helped me decide. I went with one of their winter specials - Gingerbread Latte, iced with almond milk - and it was delicious! Not super sweet and definitely got the gingerbread flavor through. The latte had the perfect ratio of espresso to milk, resulting in the amazing color pictured here.

This my friends is a day light robbery. I paid $7.50 for a 16 ounce (possibly less) for graham crackers coffee. It just tasted of milk and sugar. A great crime is being committed in the name of coffee here. The staff is polite other than that it doesn't deserve any stars

Nice space and staff. Wait time to get my iced tea was way too long. And while the tea was good, not worth the price I paid.

Dirty, overpriced, prices are not displayed well and so the prices are sometimes a nasty surprise, sometimes gets order wrong. I am done. Back to Starbucks.

Stopped by on an early Saturday afternoon to do some studying. I was worried I wouldn't find a spot to sit comfortably but was pleasantly surprised by how much seating there is. I ordered a hazelnut latte with oat milk. Pros: Lots of space Music isn't too loud Vibe is cool Cons: Latte was not worth the 7 bucks Bathroom door did not lock from the outside so beware of that Overall it was an okay spot to get some studying done but I'm not quick to run back here

I came here around 8:30am to pick up a sweet treat before work. I'm a huge fan of banana muffins, so I decided on a banana walnut chocolate chip muffin. I thought that since it was early in the morning, the baked good would be fresh, soft, and delightful. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. It didn't taste very fresh, and was quite firm to the bite. It also wasn't warm. When I bite into a muffin, I like it to be soft, fluffy, and warm. The hot chocolate was good and quite rich. Overall, wasn't too impressed with my experience here, but the staff were kind and bubbly, and the interior was nice.

Stopped in to try and to kill a bit of time. The matcha latte was good along with the pumpkin bread. The main deduction in score was the restroom condition. There were two however one was locked for employees and I can imagine why. If the condition of the one was any indication. I would be back for a grab and go just no lounging around.

Pistachio latte + vegan chai tea latte muffin/vegan pb crumb are all my go-tos. A lot of coffee chats going on especially in the morning but plenty of space to do your cute little individual study time. The entire setup, brick wall, elevated study area, couches, bar tops - varied comfort spaces that you can choose! Very fast service so completely satisfied especially if you're tight on time! It's on my way to Paulson or Paulson to Bobst so a great location to grab a snack or pick-me-up energy drink. Like I see so many people going here for breakfast for morning classes so thank you Think Coffee. Also, Think Coffee is fitting to do reading highlighting/writing/language based work/writing notes/reflective work -- don't ask me why it just worked every time!

The cafe seating is awesome. I thought the food and coffee was just ok. They give a discount to NYU students who bring their ID. The pricing is reasonable.

My friends all know I'm super basic and love coffee. I drink so much of it on a daily basis that the caffeine no longer works on me. I can drink cups of it and still take a 4 hour nap. Regardless, I love the taste. Having traveled to countries such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Vietnam, and Indonesia, I know what good tastes like. Think Coffee offers great tasting coffee. Here's the kicker though, I can drink it guilt-free without having to worry about farmers being abused and taken advantage of. The coffee you buy here supports local girls from where the beans are sourced, and I honestly think that adds to the taste and flavor of it subconsciously. Overall, fast and friendly service. Huge and spacious place to get work done or have a quiet conversation. Furniture in the back feels old Victorian. They did close up early though (2 or 3pm, can't remember), probably because there's not enough business at the moment. Definitely will return when school is back in session!

The music has gotten so loud, making it really hard to work and study here (even with earplugs--it's still loud). I used to come here all the time but have a hard time working here now. The staff is nice.

Pros: Loads of space, wifi, lots of outlets, will let customers stay for hours, nice seating area near the windows, supports local non-profits. Cons: Bathrooms are very dirty and smell, whole place needs more cleaning, long delays preparing quick items like bagels, kitchen closes 1pm or earlier (varies), pre-closing play list features lyrics like "get the f*** out of here", "f*** you", etc: I'm sure this is all hip and ironic and they don't really mean it, just like me stopping tipping them because of this.

Great deco and friendly staff! Not so much of a good place to work but it is a perfect place to chill.

I got a ice Matcha w almond milk to go. It was fine. Not stupendously flavorful or anything. But When the ice eventually melted enough, it was good for the heat.

Drinks are good, but service was even better. The staff is super friendly, and struck up a conversation with us while they were making our drinks. There's lots of seating, and the place is fairly spacious given its location.

A spacious cafe with tons of seating options! It is a bit louder here because there's so many people, but it often isnt too difficult to find seating. The day I went, there was a private event around 6PM so it definitely got super loud then. Their cold brew was a bit too weak for my taste, but their americano was dark and strong (I love my black coffee bitter and dark). Overall, good place to sit and get work done!

Think coffee could be great if it weren't so dirty. In my visit, there was trash on the floor, a used empty glass on the table for several hours, and the floor outlets were clogged with rust and dust and unusable. And the bathroom is another story on its own. Gross. The good: it's very spacious, probably one of the largest in the neighborhood. They offer beer and wine in addition to the usual coffee and pastries.

All I had was an espresso but they had a lot of pastry/food selections especially considering this is a tiny space. My barista was very friendly and helpful. I know this is a very "small sample size" but I got a really good feeling about this place.

Think coffee has a decent amount of seating, although it does fill up quickly. I went here on a Sunday afternoon and got the Spanish Latte ($4.25). It was good coffee, but nothing special, and definitely not worth its price. They do have wifi, but I was disappointed with how slow it was. They seem to filter social media sites (making them load slower than usual) but they also weren't able to support the site that I listen to my class lectures on. It's utterly frustrating when you buy a tiny, over-priced coffee, and then can't even stay at the cafe and be productive. They have tons of students and young professionals who come here to get work done, so this was just absurd.

They have one of the best Iced Latte I've ever had. I always get the iced latte with caramel and it tastes amazing. The Ambience is nice and everyone working there is also super sweet

Think Coffee is located conveniently close to NYU's main "campus," which made it a supposedly good spot to get some coffee and work done while waiting for my sister to get out of class. After ordering a latte in the long mid-morning line, I hustled into a small corner table (which also housed a much needed outlet) right behind the coffee counter. It was a little crowded, especially when some guy decided to move his seat, computer, coffee and Calvin Klein briefs right in front of me. Yikes. Wifi was TERRIBLE. I had the worst time keeping a strong connection. Don't think you can use too much bandwidth here, so do what you can offline - I eventually used my phone as a hotspot so I could send some important work emails. Even so, I took my time sipping my latte in the busy and crowded coffee shop. There were a few pastry offerings available, as well as some other food options, so I picked up a chocolate croissant to accompany my latte. While it wasn't bad, I wish they could have heated it up - it just didn't seem to taste super fresh at room temp (slightly cold). Think Coffee is one of those places where I can grab a drink and snack to go, but not a recommended study spot, in my opinion, unless you're trying to avoid internet streaming. If I wanted a place with mediocre wifi and abundant wall outlets, I would have just gone to Starbucks (which is actually where I ended up after this). The only redeeming qualities are the solid espresso and somewhat chill atmosphere. But that's all you need in a coffee shop, really. Just don't advertise wifi if it's not dependable.

This is one of the few places around NYU where you can rest your laptop on a table in a cafe and work or meet with people- that alone merits 5 stars- but it gets even better from there. Sustainably minded packaging and socially minded coffee sourcing. True cold Brew. Locally made pastries and the best yeasty bagels only to be consumed by those who are not gluten sensitive, with thick cream cheese, Nutella, peanut butter, jelly, or butter. After 11am they start serving soups, grilled cheese, and other sandwiches. After 1pm, the wine bar and beer fridge open up. So, in one day, you could experience three different offerings only available at those times of day. If you arrive before 10am, you get best choice or spots. If you arrive after 1pm expect to hone your table stalking skills or get the courage to ask about sharing a larger spot.

A good place to study given the spacious area with plenty of tables and seats. Only problem is when I was there at least none of the outlets were working so make sure to come with fully charged electronics if you're planning to do work here for awhile. I got their coffee which was decent. Overall, decent coffee and good study vibes.

Great place for a coffee and bagel but go early because they run out for the day! Highly recommend the egg and cheese!
