Thipsamai Padthai Pratoopee

I saw this Thai restaurant in Bangkok and ended up having one of the best Pad Thai meals I’ve ever had. I ordered the Pad Thai with jumbo shrimp, and it was wrapped inside an omelette, which made it even better. It came with lemon and a bean sprout salad on the side, and there were a few really good sauces on the table that you could add to your taste. The place was pretty busy, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation if you can. I also really liked the open-concept kitchen — it was fun being able to see everything being cooked. Overall, I fully recommend eating here if you’re in Bangkok.

The food was very good, the best Pad Thai I had in Thailand, but I didn’t like the rush that they were treating us with. I understand that the place has a big amount of people coming in, but still you can be a bit more smooth when it comes to seating your clients. One more thing I didn’t like was the fact that they act very professional in every aspect, but you couldn’t pay by card at the end. And as an extra, they put automatically 10% charging fee without the option to change that amount.

This is the most famous Pad Thai in Thailand (at least for me). 🇹🇭🔥 When you walk in — or even just wait in the queue — you’ll hear all kinds of languages around you. People from everywhere. Very few Thai customers, actually. That alone shows how much of a destination Thipsamai has become. And this branch is just a few steps away from the legendary Jay Fai, so the whole area feels like a food pilgrimage spot. Thipsamai is all about Pad Thai. No complicated menu — just different variations of Pad Thai, and that’s it. The taste has stayed consistent over the years, but the portion has definitely gotten smaller. To keep the price the same, they reduced the serving size. A few years ago, one plate used to fill me up so much I could barely finish it. Now? I can finish easily and still have space left for side dishes or dessert. The staff here are super friendly, and some can speak multiple languages — so if you’re a tourist, communication won’t be a problem at all. The atmosphere is lively and warm, with people from all over the world enjoying their plate of Pad Thai. So if you want to try the most famous Pad Thai in Thailand, Thipsamai is the place. (Of course, taste is subjective — there are many great Pad Thai spots with their own styles — but Thipsamai is definitely the most iconic.) Enjoy! 🥢✨

This was my first time trying the best Pad Thai in their origin place and I can tell it was amazing experience. We came for dinner and there was a queue line, but they're moving fast. around 10 mins we got the table, from the entrance the greeter, and the staffs warmly welcomed us, suggesting the most famous items, etc. Not so long the food served, the portion was kinda small, but the taste was amazing. It was the best Pad Thai I've ever tasted, mixture of sweet and savory taste and a hint of shrimp in it. We were thinking to order more but we were on a tight budget during our trip, so badly :(. And, the Orange Juice was amazing as well, I like they keep the big pulp inside. It was so unfortunate that I didn't remember their names and their food items, but I'd really like to come back to Thailand to try their foods again someday.

Finally tried Pad Thai at Thipsamai, one of Bangkok’s most famous spots. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not mushy, not dry, with a strong shrimp-oil aroma that hits immediately. The egg-wrapped Pad Thai feels richer and more indulgent compared to street versions. Flavor-wise, it leans slightly sweet, but still well balanced with lime and chili flakes. Yes, the queue is long and the price is higher than street Pad Thai, but I’d say it’s worth trying at least once for the experience.

Thipsamai Padthai Pratoopee fully deserves its reputation. I genuinely believe this is where you can find the best Pad Thai in Bangkok — and possibly in the world. I initially thought it might be overrated or overly touristy, but I was completely wrong. The food is phenomenal: perfectly balanced flavors, excellent ingredients, and incredible consistency. Yes, there is usually a wait of at least 30 minutes, but it is absolutely worth it. Service is good, the experience is smooth, and prices are surprisingly low for the quality you get. Highly recommended. A must-visit if you’re in Bangkok.

Thipsamai completely changed my perspective on Pad Thai. I didn’t think I would ever love this dish so much until visiting this place. It truly elevates the traditional Pad Thai experience and showcases Thai food at its best. Prices are fair considering it’s recommended in the Michelin Guide. We waited around 15 minutes for a table, but it was absolutely worth it. Our waiter was extremely efficient, funny, and very attentive. The only thing that could be improved is the timing of the dishes. As a group of four, our meals arrived at different times, which isn’t ideal, especially from a Western dining perspective. That aside, I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to Bangkok for another dose of their incredible Pad Thai.

Really good food! Ordered their Superb Pad Thai and all I can say that I love every elements of it. Chewy noodles, fresh shrimps, well and balance seasoned, little bit sweet? Adding some lime juice would balance it all out. Walked in at very late time for dinner, around 9:30 pm and no waiting time. Super friendly and helpful staffs, love their vibes!! Such a beautiful interior, but a bit packed with lots of table inside—I don’t mind this though.
