Third Base

Stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday. The place was empty but for about handful of people. That wasn’t a good sign but I stayed. Food: I ordered a drink and the waitress came back with it lightning fast. For food, I ordered the lemon pepper dry rub chicken wings and a basket of Cajun fries. It took about 20 mins for food to arrive. The wings were incredibly dry. It was more like lemon pepper crackers than chicken. I ate two and attempted a third wing but couldn’t stomach any more of the sandpaper texture. The fries were cooked correctly and tasted great. Service: the waitress was super nice and friendly but she didn’t come out to my table to check if I needed anything else. She did ask how the food was and I told her. She said sorry and asked if I wanted anything else. Atmosphere: It was dead inside. It was dead outside. For some reason they had the patio heaters on full blast while the temperature outside at the time was about 85F. I don’t think I’d come back here for food.

Cool place to watch sports on tv and have a good meal. The restaurant is huge with lots of seating and there’s a big outdoor area. The staff are friendly and our food and drinks came out fast. This is a great place to go to watch any sporting event you wish to partake of.

Absolutely awful experience! Ordered fries and was scammed into a 250% tip by server Caleb who altered the physical receipt. Spoke with manager Olivia who refused to empathize/understand the situation and rudely told me, “Take it up with your credit card company!” She knows the credit card company will refund fraud and was complicit in the fraudulent activity. No apologies, no help, nothing. I will not be coming back and suggest anyone considering to stay far away. No need to scam your customers to run a business.

We only visit this place for sports.. service is always bad and food is hit or miss.. This time around we had wings and potato skins.. the wings were good but the potato skins weren't.. they were more like baked potatoes cut in half.. I prefer them to be crispy as mentioned on the menu.. bacon could be more crumbled and not slapped on there in big pieces.. Our server was not attentive.. I understand it was busy but not an excuse to forget a queso order that never arrived and when asked after a few times all we got was a .. oh, that's right!!.. and moved one.. no sorry, no nothing..

Chicken wings are okay.Fries were not crispy and soft fish was unseasoned and Flavorless, and we're was flavorless as well, and cheeseburger order was with no onions, lettuce and tomatoes. Let's let me run it back, would onions only. I would not recommend this place for diamonds.Only for drinks in tvs.

This place is terrible if you are not a guy. I have come here on several occasions. I have never left a bad review but this bar is terrible towards women coming alone. I have come here 4 different times... I have had to wait 20 minutes... To get a bartenders attention on a random Tuesday night... Thursday night 30 min... Random Wed 15 min and only two other tables.

Well came on game night busy so not worried about a wait for food. Waitress forgot my food and the table next to me. Brought the other tables food who arrived later than me. Reminded her about my nachos. 30 mins later when the game ends she claims she was going to get them. I've never not tipped someone but damn do better. Better yet comp the nachos and at least send me home with some food.

So we had an issue tonight. Thank god for John stepping in… my friend just experienced a very adamant creeper/SA not taking no for an answer. Literally didn’t take no for an answer. John stepped in even after the woman working tried to silence the crazy incident. Me and my friend tried to halt it as well… she did nothing to protect the potential victim. She went the customer service route that clearly didn’t work… pay attention to your surroundings. That’s it. Thank you John for watching out more. The girl in the picture is the one that did nothing to stop it happening.

Ordered the house salad with fried chicken added and it was great 10/10 Service was okay my only mishap was that I asked for a straw and never got it. Other than that our waitress did good with managing both tables for our party. She also grabbed our cards before hand to keep our tabs separate which I liked because it was less hassle at the end to pay for everything or split it up. The vibe was good for a Saturday night. They have multiple TVs with sports and shows playing, the place is clean and the music isn't too loud where you can't converse across the table.

I visited Third Base to meet a friend for lunch while getting some work done on my car nearby. It was my first time here, and when I came in, I mistakenly walked in a side door. A sign saying, "Not the Main Entrance" would be helpful for first-timers like me. After finding the front entrance, I saw a sign that said to sit anywhere, so I chose a spot out of the way where my friend and I could talk. The waitress found us easily, took our drink and food orders, and everything was delivered without any issues. The service was good, and the waitress checked on us a few times. We ordered off the lunch menu, which is a good value, and flavor wise, nothing stood out as special, typical bar food. They did have beer and drink specials posted, and there were lots of special events listed on a chalkboard, so it seems like they have a lot going on. Overall, if I'm in the area again and need a quick lunch, I'd stop by again to try more items and expand my review..

Good bar food wasn't really busy around one loved the fries and burger called the ranch hand . Lots of sport on TVs were playing and they looked to have an extensive bar. One of the best parts for me is they had soda water or seltzer some places don't but here did .

Food is not what I'd go here for. Drinks and sports YES! The service is good!! Sports bars are sports bars and this one is pretty good!!!

I come here to just chill and relax, while sitting at the bar. The bartenders are extremely attentive and friendly. I normally eat the carnitas flautas Or the hot corner scrambler and I never go wrong.

Delivery experience only. Fish tacos come completely disassembled. Tortillas were hard and rubbery on one side and soggy on the other. Tacos were incredibly spicy (and I like spice). Smallest portion of queso I've ever seen - not even enough for one person to enjoy. Salsa was plain disgusting - never met a salsa I didn't like until now. Fried pickles were just a platter of solid grease Tortilla soup - no flavor - veggies hard and rubbery Burger and fries just meh and not fresh

I really love this place. I am picky what I order though, but most of it's food is delicious, especially the rueben sandwich, cheese burgers, fries and steak nachos. I didn't like the Philly Cheese Steak nor the jalapeño poppers. The beer menu is decent and they have specials almost daily as well as numerous events throughout the week. The staff is very nice and fun. The service is pretty good. There are many TVs around the whole area to watch different sporting events. Yesterday they had the Astros and Yankees game on as well as the last stankey cup hockey game and even boat racing. There are also dart boards and pool tables. Lots of seating even outdoor that's covered. The clientele is diverse with all races and genders. I even saw a homeless man once who had been given a cola and sandwich. He stood in the AC relaxing and not causing any issues. The next time you just want to go do something, have a beer, a coke, a sandwich, watch Sports or say hi to someone, then drive over to Third Base and have fun!

This was meant to be a GOOD REVIEW!! The place has improved a lot since I had gone 6 years ago.

Third Base...we have a love hate relationship. Most Round Rockers are no stranger to this establishment and as such are aware that depending upon the day, one's experience here can be great and other times can be like "Who dat restaurant Harpo"? This review summarizes my last take-out experience here. You may ask "what I got" - Sublime So here goes... Fried Pickles- Crispy fried dill pickles are the ultimate appetizer! These were on-point. Nachos- Look at the photos... what happened? Only the Lordt and Third Base know. The chips were stale and the beans were dried out. Baja Tacos- The Fried Mahi was rubbery. I am not sure what happened here as these are super easy to make so how the Mahi got to this state, I am at a loss. Overall this visit was more a of 1.5 star BUT I am really rating this establishment for collective visits.

after going to this place, thought it was a good place for food and watch the game. boy was I wrong. inside was as bad until people started vaping. then we chose to sit outside and that was the biggest mistake ever. i have sinus issues and allergic to cigarette smoke. people were vaping and smoking out on the patio. it ruined my night and we were with a group of 6. that night i couldnt sleep because my sinus's were so messed up i couldnt sleep all night. i do not recommend this place.

Came to visit on 8/4/2021. My partner and I been coming here every now and then when we're in the mood for just an appetizer because Third Base has some of the best appetizers that can also serve as a meal. You get your monies worth for sure. My partner gets the nachos and this particular time I tried the Carnitas Flautas for the first time, and it was SO good! They do put a layer of refried beans at the bottom, which I could've did without but still good. Also to mention - my partner previously tried the Ribeye steak on a previous visit and she mentioned it didn't really have taste and wasn't all that. The service is good, if you come during the week it's a lot of space and available seating, they have darts and they do trivia as well - not sure of the days on this but it was pretty packed that day.

If I could give this a .5 star I would, the foo is so good for bar food. The employees on the other hand. Ridiculous. As a former bartender I understand a couples drinks or shots during a shift but almost every employee is intoxicated. This is my 3rd time here and tonight tops the cake for all employees, not only asked for food service "oh let me check" the next employee "oh I don't really know" so I asked another employee at the bar and of course they are open for food. After getting the food I saw one employee (blonde & short hair) walking in circles ignoring customers appearing to be intoxicated ignored me and my husband while walking by. I will not support a business who has oblivious employees who are not responsible on the clock!

This place nails it for being a sports bar. There's TVs literally everywhere you look and they actually have everything playing. Great bar area and beer selection. There's a pretty large patio out back as well. Daily drink specials. Bathrooms are surprisingly good for a sports bar. Food is just ok. Chicken sandwich is pretty lacking on the chicken. Fries are yummy. Their salsa is BANGING. Super spicy, be prepared. Queso is ok. Burgers are big, just average In flavor. Come to catch games and just happen to get a decent meal.

Third Base suffers from a common ailment- staffing. Our waiter was working his tail off but the slowness in the delivery of the food and drink was disappointing. Our appitizers were a mixed bag - the queso was Luke warm but tasty - would have been great if they served it hot. Nice touch for serving each person their own basket of chips. The stuffed tots were tasty - server said they were cajun and spicy - NOT. No spice to speak of, filled with bacon, chives and chese- very tasty. Beer nice and cold. Tons of TVs - great way to watch multiple games at same time.

We did have high hopes off this place based strictly on the menu, its vast with a decent selection....We like finding places like this to take our granddaughter too. Gives her and us to try something different. Friendly greeting and we were seated. The first table was just plain sticky to the touch, so we moved to a less sticky table. Water to drink along with Chips, Hatch Queso and Salsa to start. All were very good Along with some Chicken Tortilla soup, good yes, but way overloaded on peppers...I would say this would catch the average person off guard...When placing our order, it always bothers me when they dont write down what we said...on that note my Chicken fried steak, turned out to be chicken fried chicken...Although tasty, its not what I ordered. Mash potatoes were spot on. Asparagus was a bit charred. I asked the waitress to make my check reflects the difference in $$....Wife went with the fish and Chips....We have eaten enough to know what to expect....One piece actually had no fish, just batter. We did show the waitress and she offered another piece, but at this point we were 3/4 of the way done with our meal....yes thats how long it was before she returned to see if all was good...and since she was training another waitress, we technically had 2. Our check wasnt itemized so I have no clue if the charge was correct. We just cut our losses and will move on to the next adventure.

Shout out to Cody, I was exceptionally impressed with his degree of attentiveness to us. He has very good customer service and communication skills. I was pleasantly surprised to learn he was new to the establishment because of how good he is at his job. If you dine there, please request him.

1st time yesterday, nice bartenders, great burger and fries, good prices and nice bar and atmosphere. Definitely will go back!

Poor bar service, I am from Dallas and I am not use to bartenders just walking by and not filling my drink. The only reason I have it two stars is because I heard a song I liked

Ordered delivery steak nachos and although the flavor was okay, they forgot to put requested queso fresco on top and the chips were just fried tortillas cut in half? Not sure if that's how they normally do it, couldn't tell from the photos. The chips were also a little burnt and they smothered beans on top to mask the burntness. Didn't come with a lot of meat, or nachos. Lol. Mostly beans and pico. I appreciate that they put the queso sauce in a separate container and thankfully that stayed warm as the nachos arrived cold. Won't order from here again.

My family came in for lunch today. My husband had the fried egg sandwich he said it was decent. My son had Mac n cheese was good. I had the loaded potato skins and it was OK. All in all I would say food is pretty mediocre. Not the best I've had but not the worst. Plenty of TV's for sports. I'm not sure about alcohol since I don't drink. Waitress was pretty friendly reason for 3 stars mostly.

We were a little iffy based on the low rated reviews, but thanks to Sarah the bartender we had a great experience here! Drinks and food were great too.

There are 4 people sitting at the bar called "home base" and we asked to have 1 baseball game on... on the last regular season day for mlb and we're told no. Will never be back, which with this service this place won't be open much longer.

I'm not a major Third Base fan but I have to say you have got to try The Dr.'s Nachos!!!! AMAZING!!! The slaw and pickled onions are a perfect compliment to the pulled pork. I hate piled nachos and these are NOT piled! There are approx 8 Large crunchy tortilla chips that stay crunchy even throughout the entire meal! This is a NOT TO BE MISSED plate!

It was pretty good, especially sweet potato fries ugh im a sucker for those and late night delivery

Despite what Uber eats says, this kitchen closes at 1 on wed-Saturday, and 12 sun-Tuesday. Regardless, this place is amazing when it come to food and service, unmatched. The people employed here will take care of you and kick you out when you've drank too much. As solid as a business comes, anybody with a different opinion, meet me in the parking lot.

the service is terrible if you are a female coming by yourself i have been coming to third base every two days and i always tip $30 even if i only get one drink because i am a server and i understand how the server industry is but now that i have been coming every other day i have started to notice i do not get the same type of service as the men in there do they get served as soon as they sit down it takes the servers 20 minutes and counting for anyone to come and serve me, i decided today that i was not tipping, since nobody came and helped me for 26 minutes i had my phone out and had the clock running until one one served me.....it took them 26 minutes and 36 seconds for me to put my first order in this is outrageous and i am never coming here again i should've timed them from the jump,and like i said i understand the service industry but the fact there is only 4 other people in there (not including me) and its took them almost 27 minutes until i was served just shows me that i do not need to tip $30 every time i come and also that there is no reason for me to come back here, i only come here because it's 2 minutes from my house now i will have to find a different place just because of the service.

Good: Huge servings of nachos Queso and salsa was good Guinness was served in huge glass *out of pint glasses so they gave me big glass=some free beer Not so good: Service was bad-we waited 10 mins just for a waitress to acknowledge us even though she looked right at me twice she kept on walking. Even after she came to our table I had to flag her down and almost jump in front of her to get her to stop. She was quick with check though? Hmmmm Overall was ok experience but maybe consider a few more waitstaff on a Saturday night when ALCS is on tap!

Not my kind of place, although service was good and nachos were good. Just a basic place to get a drink.

Horrible. I'm here as I type and the "bartender" is making jokes with the idiot customers about donut smiles. I used to love this place, when I first came here 10 years ago the bartenders treated you like family. Not anymore. Cover 3 in RR is considered the same $$ and it's close but with WAY better service. Unfortunately with the best servers and bartenders saying the owners drive err one out this spot won't last.

It is the worst place to grab a beer do not come if you are not from the area! I came in with my relative and they did not serve us! I ask for a reason and they did not gave us one ! Please if you want to get a quick beer or a any drink do not come here! they are not a friendly place to come ! It's supposed to be a a place for people to come have a great time with friends and family but do not think it is! I just left with no reason so I warn you! Do not waste your money here!!!

Decent sports bar. Lots of TVs. Food is okay. Have had 2 NFL fantasy football drafts here. 1st was 3 seasons ago, and it went off without a hitch. The 2nd was this year, and it was a bit of a debacle. Had to go and find a waitress to serve us and the internet was too slow to run our draft. Nothing too das about this place other than sports and beer.

The red head bartender was rude and not friendly at all. I don't know how they get business with those nasty bartenders being the first thing you see. After throwing a menu my way I waited a good 15 minutes while she smiled at all the white People and served them even though I had been waiting there first I watched people walk up and me and the bartender continued to make eye contact so she would know I was ready. I like the wings it's the only reason I would ever go there it was definitely not for the trash bartenders or trash service. Might as well close the place down. I think I have to give it a rating but they deserve NO stars. Won't be back to that racist ass bar with those trash ass people :)

Food decent. Service terrible. Not sure if not enough servers working, but ours disappeared after taking orders, some food took over 40 minutes to show up and second round of beers never showed up, which was ordered through other server delivering food.

Absolutely horrible place to have dinner waiter with barely any hair to braid to the back basically refused To take our order bc we moved to his section after he finally decided to clean his tables . Lady with blonde hair decided to still be our waiter Iwhwn she found Time between rubbing down a mans beard and face Not to mention the back scratch he got . I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if this place is shutdown due to Covid violations .

Def a chill place for some drinks and a low key atmosphere. Location is everything. Btw they have amazing sweet potatoe wedges...

I know this place is short staffed and we were told they only have 1 cook right now, but the food we received yesterday was honestly some of the worst we have ever had. My 2 year old wouldn't even eat her Mac n cheese (I know, right?) because it was completely flavorless. I couldn't finish my wings and my Mom didn't enjoy hers either. They have a limited menu, but the food they do have comes out sub-par.

The food was absolutely horrible. So bland I couldn't taste anything, ordered a Bloody Mary and tasted like expired mix. The server was amazing but besides the pleasant experience with her I 0/10 recommend this place

We used a Community Impact coupon, buy one burger and get a second of equal or lesser value for free. My wife had and liked the regular cheeseburger and I thoroughly enjoyed the Hatch chilli burger, the fries that came with both burgers were pretty good. The service was prompt and friendly. The only downsides were the place smelled a little funky and the menu I was offered was sticky.

been frequenting this place for about a year & let me tell you they got awesome specials smooth vibe and nice people throughout. if you're a cowboys fan this is ur bar forsure but most definitely all teams are welcomed

Service was slow. Fries came out cold (very cold) and too salty. Popeyes salad was meh.

Food was average and don't recommend the potato soup! Service was ok but it took three rounds of bringing out the food for 5 adults and 3 kids. So everyone ate at different times.

I come here all the time, but today I was extremely disappointed with staff:( There was a glass that had fallen off the table next to us and shattered on the floor. A couple bartenders looked at it and shrugged. It took them 25 minutes to sweep the broken glass that was being walked over by customers trying to sit at the bar. Everyone was kinda wondering if and when anyone was going to clean up the glass. Anyways, the server who swept the glass, put the sharp, shank- looking, broken glass back up on the clean table and left it there. 3 customers sat at that table with a broken beer glass for 5 minutes before it was taken off the table. Just a very dangerous situation, and it makes me think of what might be going on in the kitchen... yikes.

The gnats are crazy bad here. They need to spray for gnats it's disgusting having to keep swatting them out of your face or worse , your food.

Great food and fantastic service. Samantha is the best! You never have to ask for another drink, she's on point and one step ahead. Oh! And get the nachos, you won't be disappointed.

I usually love this place but this past Saturday was a different vibe. I went with my girlfriend to have some drinks and food. We met there around 530pm. I had to locate a server because no one came to help us. We were able to order 2 beers then some queso. We were just about to order some food and the server told me we had to pay $7 to stay since they were showing the fight. I said we are not here for the fight we just want to eat and have some drinks. The server told me it doesn't matter since we were there sitting we had to pay. Needless to say we cashed out. Absolutely ridiculous! We were not there for the fight. Horrible customer service.

Live close by and was so hoping this would be a great sports bar. Went there to watch the Steelers game and even though the place was filled with more Steelers fans there was no Audio in our game. The food was ok. Had better. Also the lighting in there blares at some of the tv screen and at your eyes. The back patio had the game on with audio but too much sunlight hitting the screen you couldn't even see it. This place is so much potential but I really don't think management is that invested to make it a great sports bar. Anyway.... We left early as well as about 5 others and headed to the Bon Aire in Austin and 10 times better!!!!

We went today to watch the A&M game and the UT game. Our visit was great! We did not see or experience anything that was mentioned on the bad reviews.. The guy that was our server in the A&M section was awesome!!! Food was really good, bathrooms were clean, drinks were cold and we could easily see the TV's all over the bar. We will definitely be back!!!

I'd like to add that the outside patio service and tables hardly get any attention from the waiters. Best is to seat by the bar.
