Thision Open Air Cinema

Thision open Air cinema is such a beautiful summer destination in the historical center of Athens, Greece. I have always believed that nothing can be more beautiful than watching vintage and classic movies on cinema screen .. But also with an Acropolis view, this is definitely a big bonus. A big applaud for the staff, the two ladies at the enterance were friendly and helpful. In addition to all the staff at the cantine. The bathroom was so clean too. Thanks for all your efforts to keep this place working. I will definitely return when Casablanca is on screen.

Great spot to watch a movie. It's a big place so you can always find a seat. There are tables in most of the rows to hold snacks and beverages from the concession stand. The view of the Acropolis from the upper level of seats is stunning. Due to its location there can be a fair amount of ambient noise from the neighborhood, but that's just part of the experience. All in all it's a terrific place to take in a movie.

Went to see Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme. The 9pm show started well before it was dark enough to view the film. The queue for refreshments was still 10 deep 20 mins after and despite there being a second outlet at the entrance which was closed I was directed to the queue by a rather gruff wave of a hand. Seemingly CNN declared it the best open air cinema in the world but that must have been before the many others that have popped up in Athens since. The view of the Acropolis is a nice distraction but one you will probably have seen all day before coming here.

We saw F1 here and really enjoyed it. There is an intermission halfway through to get snacks, go to the restroom. The chairs with cushion are comfortable. Great volume and visuals in the theater. A great experience for an evening in Athens

We went there on a saturdays eve. We went to watch My fair lady. Unfortunateley, you cannot book tickets in advance, so you should be there pretty early. For example when the movie starts at 20:45, be there at 20:15 at least. It was a great experience, on of our highlights in athens. However, the chairs are really uncomfortable, and you cannot see the acropolis. With that in mind, it is still a gorgeous open air cinema which i would definitely recommend

Great service, great prices, all around good time. It has a very local, family -owned vibe, but everyone is happy to speak English for you and take credit cards

I love this outdoor cinema. The vibe is laidback: the view of the Parthenon and the charming bar with some stray cats lying around. Sound quality can be a bit compromised when the outside is noisy (like on Saturday evenings), that’s something to take in mind if you go.

An amazing lifetime experience, that’s why it’s voted one of the best open air cinemas worldwide. If you sit at the back right side, you can also see a bit of the Acropolis (Parthenon) with the lights on. Doesn’t need to be a good movie, just go for the vibe and experience!
