Hole in wall BBQ place. Picked this place based on reviews. We ordered 1lb of brisket sliced and a half rack of ribs with the spicy sauce on the side to go. The portions and price were great but... unfortunately the brisket was sliced very thin and just tasted like beef roast deli meat. The ribs were very tough and difficult to eat. The sauce was very tomatoey and did not taste good. Sorry, but we can't recommend this place.

I've been all over eating ribs at some of the best spots Atlanta and the country has to offer and these stack up as good as any I've had. The mac and cheese was excellent snd the collards are as good as any I've ever had. I'm glad everything was served in to go containers because I had to take half home the portions were so generous! I'll definitely be back

Located in this multiple occupancy strip shopping center is Cousins and Brothers BBQ. Self parking in the lot and there is ADA parking. Place your order at the window and arrange for payment and you are giving your drink cup. Coke fountain and other beverages. Mac and cheese was great and the BBQ beans had meat. Lots of meat Brisket was excellent and they have two flavors of sauce. Sweet and the other one has some heat. Will return soon.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise this was. The salmon I had was delicious. It had an infused flavor to it from the seasoning and smoking process. It was fantastic! Both the baked beans and coleslaw were near perfection. Cornbread muffin was good. And I thought the barbecue sauces, both mild and the spicy were superior to what you normally get in any given barbecue joint. Lemonade was on point as well. Shae and the kitchen manager (Sorry, forgot the name) we’re friendly. Job well done! I’ll be back when in this area

The sudden downpour definitely changed our cookout plans, but finding C & B Barbecue turned out to be a silver lining! We were craving that classic smoky flavor, and C & B absolutely delivered. The moment we walked in, the aroma alone promised good things, and the friendly staff made us feel right at home. We ordered a mix of wings, ribs, pulled pork, and brisket, and every single item was a winner. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender a d the pulled pork was incredible and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The sides, especially the tasty baked beans, complemented the meats perfectly. It felt like a true backyard barbecue, but without the hassle of the grill. C & B Barbecue saved our cookout craving with truly delicious, authentic flavors. We'll definitely be back, rain or shine!

FOOD: EXCELLENT! I bought A Beef Brisket plate with collard greens and baked beans! I was hesitant to try the food at first but once I gotten home, I decided to eat. Being pleasantly surprised, the Beef brisket was awesome, both juicy and tender just right! The collard greens were cooked with Smoked turkey which I was delighted about that. Next was the baked beans was watery but the flavor was on point. The beans needed to be cooked in the oven a little bit longer. Lastly, I had ordered one cornbread but I wished that I ordered two or three more! The cornbread texture and flavor gives Jiffy cornbread but homemade style. The cornbread muffin was delicious and satisfying! SERVICE: STELLAR! How wonderful is it to be greeted by the owner within seconds of arrival? The greeting caught me off guard but I loved it. Excellent customer service is a language I understand and respond too. Even if the food was horrible which it wasn't, I would keep coming here, because I felt welcomed and appreciated as a customer. Even when ordering, the cashier was patient and also suggested other items from the menu. He suggested getting the two meat combo with two sides plate but to add Smoked Salmon was an additional $3. Atmosphere: CLEAN AND NEAT! You can order your food and sit in a very clean and neat dining area complete with past and present accomplishments embellished on the walls! The dining area also has two televisions as well in case you wanted to catch a football game or two! FYI: THE establishment does sell beer. I didn't see any wine products though. Happy eats!

The food at this barbecue spot was absolutely delicious and generously portioned— definitely come hungry! The cornbread is to die for; I’m still kicking myself for not getting more than one. And the chocolate cake? Criminally good. Everything was reasonably priced, and I dined in. My only gripe is that it wasn’t very cool inside the restaurant, which made the dining experience a bit less comfortable. Still, the flavors more than made up for it. I’ll be back—next time for extra cornbread!

I used this barbecue company for my son’s graduation party, and everything was absolutely amazing! The food was the best in town—barbecue ribs, salmon, baked beans, mac & cheese, cornbread, and greens. Their signature barbecue sauce was incredible, especially on the ribs and salmon. Michael helped me set up all the catering details, and his service was top-notch. He was kind, professional, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

Black owned! Love this!!! Plenty of parking. Nice & friendly staff. Only took roughly 15 minutes to receive my order, although it took me 20 minutes to decide what to get because they have lots of options. However, not as many chicken and NO TURKEY options at all. I ordered The Whole Nine, SINGLE, with greens and they let me taste the baked beans (they were blah). I included the original sweet sauce & spicy sauce. They didn't taste fresh. It was okay.

this place has been my go to for years. Boneless smoke chicken ribs and beef sausage make the sun come out on a rainy day.

First let me say I have been eating there for the last 8 years and have recommend this place to all of my people so with a heavy heart I must say that I am very disappointed at the last time I been there I ordered the smoke chicken dinner and the chicken wasn't cooked all the way through and the potatoes salad which I have always loved was a disappointment to.the potato was in big size chunks and not proportion equally I was very disappointed and will not be going back very unfortunately. I Gess I have to find a new bbq rib place which is very hard to find here in atlanta I Gess

A few months ago and guy sent me a picture of some brisket he'd gotten from here and my family had decided that we wanted BBQ for our Christmas dinner and this place came back to mind. We pre-ordered the brisket and picked it up on Christmas Eve. By Christmas morning we'd eaten all of it and ended up having to cook ribs for our Christmas dinner. This was some of the best brisket I'd ever eaten. When we picked up the brisket I also ordered a rib sandwich to go. Before I was completly out the parking lot I was already sucking on one of the four bones I received. Get the sweet and spicy sauce. Its the best. When we were there right before Christmas they were take out only.

I've wanted to try this restaurant for a while but never made it up there. I was craving barbecue, but was trapped at home with work calls and had no time to make lunch, so I ordered Thompson Brothers BBQ via Doordash. Thompson Brothers did not disappoint! I had a combo of chopped pork and sliced brisket - both tender and delicious. The sides - backed beans and cole slaw were both excellent. I ordered a little side of greens too, and they were cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious. The biggest surprise though was the brunswick stew. Wow!!! My grandmother made the best brunswick stew. Thompson Brothers is about as close to hers that I've had anywhere!!! My wife had a combo as well - sliced chicken and brisket with coleslaw and mac & cheese. She enjoyed her meal as well - everything was great!!! Will definitely be back!!!

The ribs were AMAZING as always! They were so tender they fell off the bone. They were perfectly seasoned, so you didn't need the sauce, but adding the sauce to the ribs made them epic!

This is the real deal. In a local strip mall in Atlanta. Walkable to the Cobb galleria and the Sheraton suites. This place serves killer BBQ with all the fixings. Sides include baked beans, cold slaw and Mac and cheese. The ribs were heavenly, the brisket melt in your mouth and the sausage was crisp and snappy. Wash it down with some sweet tea and you're body and soul are in a good

The food is delicious and tender! Great price for all the food you get! Definitely a hidden gem! The desserts are great too! I had the banana pudding

This has become easily my favorite barbeque spot. I always get ribs or short ribs with baked beans and collard greens. Easily 5/5 and I have to stop myself from over indulging and going every day. Sn: the staff is really nice. I have even used them for a catered event and I would do it again in the future.

This place has been around for years and I'm not sure how i missed it. While i was here i got a few things Smoked chicken The chicken was pretty good. I'm not a big fan of sauce so i think the chicken could have taken a tad bit more seasoning, but since this place really recommends their sauce i see why it's not seasoned more heavily. The mixture would have been too much. Ribs Theses weren't my top choices. They lacked seasoning to me as well. The meat was juicy but they tasted kinda bland. I tried dipping the ribs into the sauce but it didn't add any level of excitement to the ribs. I had two sauces one spicy, one sweet . After some discussion with friends i think my issue is smoked ribs. I like on the grill/ bbq ribs, these were smoked. So this is a pass. I had a taste for ribs so this was a little disappointing. Mac and cheese Yum! The sides were the highlight in all honesty. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and was seasoned well. Baked beans These were THE highlight of the whole meal! They were perfect! After the first bite i ate the entire container. They were sooooo good. I'd need double beans if i ever went back. Greens These were pretty tasty as well. I normally don't order greens when I'm out, but these were a pleasant surprise!! I'm not sure what meat was in there but they were really good. Lemonade Whew! This lemonade was bomb! Like i think about it randomly i love chick fila lemonade, and this may be better! Now o doubt they are using real lemons, but this lemonade is bomb! You will definitely want seconds. The service was A1! Everyone who worked there was really nice. I was there close to closing time and everyone was still nice. They started cleaning while i was there, but they didn't sweep my feet or anything rude.

Sorry, but the positive reviews must be from people who do not know bbq. #8 in ATL Magazine top 10 bbq spots just proves ATL is not a bbq city. First, as other reviews stated the food is severely lacking seasoning, including the sides. It's lacking the look, texture and taste that you get from real pit made bbq. Like others have stated, the food taste like it's been sitting in a warmer for too long. The hot bbq is actually hot, almost taste like hot sauce. The sweet bbq sauce is good, nothing spectacular. The staff was super nice, hence the 2nd star. TLDR; bland bbq that taste like it was made in the oven.

I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. This restaurant is small but it has a nice atmosphere. There was not a long wait to place my order or to receive my food. I ordered the rib sandwich, baked beans and lemon pound cake. The ribs were good, a tad bit salty which I didn't mind. 4 ribs came with the sandwich. The baked beans had a really good flavor and I would definitely order them again. I chose the sweet bbq sauce which was just ok, nothing to really brag about and I probably wouldn't get it again. Now let's discuss this pound cake!!! That lemon pound cake was soooo good!!! I would literally just go there for that. I mean I know for sure that was someone's grandmother recipe! AMAZING! With all that said I would definitely go back to this restaurant.

I ordered the brisket sandwich with the Mac n cheese. I like my brisket sliced because it shows the tenderness of the meat. My sandwich was great. Very tender with no fat, and smoked to perfection. Along with the Mac N cheese which tasted like mom's homemade and my lunch was awesome. Definitely a thumbs up to everyone behind that counter.

I was born and raised in the south, so I have had my fair share of a variety of Barbeque before. This restaurant took me by surprise. I just assumed since it was located near the city it would taste like your average Barbeque joint. I haven't tried every meat on the menu, but based on my experience I hope they taste just as fantastic. I ordered the Pulled Pork plate with macaroni and cheese and baked beans. I was pleased that the toast that came with my meal was toasted. Many places just offer a piece of bread and call it "toast." The pulled pork was moist and flavorful. It wasn't dry, and I could have eaten it without any sauce if I wanted to. The macaroni and cheese had the great homemade flavor. The baked beans had a little kick to them, but they weren't too spicy. I'm not a fan of spicy food, and if I enjoyed it I believe others could, too. They offer a small area to sit down and eat. You can also order food to go. It would be nice to have outdoor seating in the future, or maybe even a drive thru one day. Maybe they will offer some day in the future? Although, I was pleased with the casual atmosphere and friendly customer service without these suggestions. I will definitely go back in the future.

Had my first experience of their food at a family gathering this weekend. We had a mountain of "9 yards" selections. I'd have to say this is some of the worst "BBQ" I've ever had anywhere. The ribs were awful, the pork was dry and burned, and the sides were at best mediocre. They missed one of the sides in the order, but fortunately we picked up on that before leaving. Would never go there again.

This is the best barbeque in Marietta and its down the street from the Braves stadium. They have great prices also so its a good place to go before a baseball game and get a good meal with out all of the hassle and high prices at the battery. We got the "Whole Nine Combo" it gives you a little be of everything!

Made a stop here on Memorial Day to get my bbq fix and I was NOT disappointed. This was my first visit to this establishment and boy boy boy, I'll for sure be back! Upon walking in, I was immediately impressed with the family feel of the restaurants. It was as if I was walking into someone's home for dinner. They had family photos all of the restaurant and we were immediately greeted with down-home hospitality. We asked what was their most popular dishes and decided to go with the Beef Brisket and BBQ Chicken. I must say that their brisket was probably some of the best brisket I've ever had and I never knew myself to be a big brisket fan, but since it was recommended I had to give it a try! The chicken I must say I wasn't too crazy about (the reason I had to give 4 stars instead of 5). However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt because it was a holiday and maybe we received an older batch since they were closing early. The sides were all great. We got their potato salad (AMAZING- my boyfriend actually said it may have been the best he's ever had) mac and cheese, and collard greens. The bbq sauce was very tasty and the price point was spot on! All in all, I'll for sure be back and I highly recommend giving them a try.

Where do I begin? I had been attempting to try this establishment for some time. However the limited hours during the pandemic had prevented me every time. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by Carroll. As I approached the counter I realized I stumbled upon a gem in Cobb county GA. I glanced at the written articles and pictures along the walls. This is definitely a family business with some good history behind it. Carroll puts his heart on the line for it. Customer service exceeded my expectations. I had decided I was not getting anything food as I was in a time crunch and riding my bike. Carroll told me I should sit and at least have a sandwich. I looked at the time and said no...I have an appt in 35 minutes. It's going to take me all of that to be on time (again I am on my motorcycle.) He asked me would I like to sample something. I said sure. At least I will have a better idea of what i would come back to get. To my surprise...the best bbq I have had in ATL since my place in Gwinnett closed. I love bbq and you can tell Thompson BBQ does too. The smell simply makes you want to sit and try it all. I sampled the short ribs. To my surprise he gave them to me with the sauce on the side. On thing for certain is a great rib need no sauce. These are some great ribs. I don't even care for BBQ sauce but always taste them. He gave me a sample of a sweet which was very sweet to me, Medium which is a mix of their sweet and hot. And hot which was amazingly tasteful. My favorite is the mix as I can imagine that on several proteins. I left with a pound of country ribs just to try something different. Besides, I could not show up to my meeting late without a good excuse and empty handed. I shared my ribs with them and they forgot that I was 2 minutes late. Lol. Overall the greatest carry out experience I have every had. I rode about 30 miles and Carroll had wrapped the ribs so good that they were still warm when I arrived to my destination. Looking forward to my next visit. The customers who came in after me advised me of things to try and honestly it's simply everything on the menu...you can't go wrong. I will capture pics...the next time.

I'd heard a lot of good things about Thompson Brothers and was excited to finally get some of their food. I decided on the brisket plate with slaw and mac n cheese. Though other restaurants will allow you to eat inside, they only had an outside table available and it was 50 degrees. So we took it home. I first dipped my finger into their hot sauce. It is tomato-based, but the flavor doesn't say anything more than "I'm hot." It didn't have any sweetness or any semblance of a KC sauce. Then I tried the brisket..... That brisket wasn't cooked that day. It was the toughest brisket (not inlike shoe leather to bite and chew) I've had in awhile, and I eat it weekly. It was just cooked earlier and reheated improperly. If by chance it was cooked that day, it was not cooked until it was tender. The slaw was fine- not too much mayo, but solid flavor. The mac n chesse had a little crust (which I like) from being in the oven, and it was both cheesy and somewhat creamy, too. Not a great experience because I came for the brisket, and it's right in-between Heirloom and Thompson Bros from my house. 'Will choose Heirloom 99 out of 100 times but may try Thompson Bros again. I just won't order the brisket if I know it hasn't been cooked that day. Ask them if the brisket has been cooked that day and try a small piece before you order it.

This BBQ spot was pretty good! I had the chopped Pork sandwich with sweet sauce, baked beans, potato salad, & sweet tea under $10. I left full & I eat a lot. The potato salad is mustard base. Who ever made this batch/recipe put way to much mustard. The mustard is over powering the rest of the flavors (I could not finish). The baked beans was good & the chopped pork was also good! I will say the chopped pulled pork alone is kind of bland but that sweet sauce poured over the pork is on point! I would come back!

I moved back to Atlanta a few months ago and was happy to see Thompson's BBQ was still in business. However, after driving 30 mins to get there, the doors are locked. I noticed a sign stating they are closed from 3:30-4pm. So I waited 10 more minutes until 4 pm. I see two other people try to enter. Doors are still locked. Another 5 minutes and an employee arrives and is allow ed in. I waited 5 more minutes JUST IN CASE this was the employee that would flip the Open light on. NOPE. It was disappointing that I arrived to a closed restaurant and after waiting they still didn't open

Nothing was good first they messed up my order big time,my fault I should have checked. This baloney is not the same that they use to serve. It was like eating devilwood ham spread..The red velvet cake was terrible it did not even have a taste. The only thing that was Good was the 2 bones (rib) that I should have had 4 of.. I will not be back terrible!!! That is not real baloney !!!

I wanted to be sure I got to eat here a couple of times before leaving a review. The 'cue here is really good. There is a reason there's sometimes a line for lunch (often comprised of LEO's and Air Force personnel). The food is good, and so are the prices. Lunch specials seem to hover right around $7, and that will get you essentially a sandwich with 1/4 pound of meat on it, and one side. My sandwich today was a chopped beef sandwich, and I chose some slaw for my side. The sandwich was tasty, but a little dry. A quick application of some barbecue sauce fixed that. The sweet sauce is, um, sweet. I made the mistake of trying it after the hot sauce, so my impressions of the non-hot were tainted. The hot sauce was really quite nice. Not too hot. In fact, not much of a lingering burn at all. I swear there's cinnamon in that mix. And yes, even the hot sauce was a little sweet. The slaw did not impress. It's a vinegary slaw that is sort-of creamy and tart all at the same time. I think next time I'll stick with the mac or the baked beans.

This place had awesome meats! The sausage, bologna, ribs, and pork on the Whole Nine Family meal were so good. All of them were well-smoked, juicy, and extremely well seasoned. The baked beans were spiced and savory and the potato salad was creamy. The macaroni and cheese is obviously homemade and so are the desserts and bbq sauces. We tried the pineapple upside down cake, the lemon pound cake, and the peach cobbler. The servings are large and totally worth the money we paid for it. We will be back!

Located in Smyrna near the new baseball field. In a plaza with plenty of parking. It's not much room to sit inside and eat but they do have that option. Excellent catering service. We used them for our shift Christmas party. Everything was fabulous. I choose to pick up the food because my coworkers were already complaining about the money we had to pitch in. Everything was ready when I got there. Packed & prepared for me to just take to work & set it up. I ordered me lunch when I picked up our order since I had not eaten and it was fabulous. It's a family owned restaurant and they are all so nice. My coworkers loved the food. And still rave about it today. So if you are looking for a nice down home bbq spot this is it!!!

Yeah, you might think this is just another barbecue place but ummmmm it's not. This is that authentic, smoky, flavorful, juicy, just down right ridiculously good barbecue. I've dined here a few times and have always had a pleasant experience. I love the fact that it's family owned and ran by the good people who own the place and as soon as you walk in the door, you kinda feel like you're apart of their family. In other words, they have good manners and even better customer service. There are just enough choices on the menu to keep you confused (not that many side choices but they do have Brunswick stew) about what to eat but I settled on the shredded brisket sandwich, and it came with one side and who could pass up some mac n cheese??? I also figured I better have some veggies sooo I got a small side of greens as well. Best decision I made today. No lie. It was too good. Kind wish the mac n cheese had a bit more buttttt it was still pretty tasty. The greens tasted like my mom made them and the brisket with the sweet sauce...I saw rainbows. So yeah, go here for some good ol home cooked BBQ!!!

Food was trashhhhhhhh. Season less and all the sides tasted old. And they have the nerve to be selling trash food with an attitude . Yeah gone head and skip this joint

We are visiting for a week and we googled where to get the best barbecue in Smyrna and this came up fourth. This has to be the best and number one. plain and Simple!! Look no further! Delicious food and the barbecue sauce is the best I have had. THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Ribs, Mac n cheese, baked beans, greens and peach cobbler. Amazing food and friendly service! We will eat here again this week!

Only one visit - but it was GOOD - so I'll chime in. I had to run a lunch-time errand in the area and looked on the map for places to eat. This area is 99% awful chains - so I was facing a choice between the horror of Olive Garden or the not-dissimilar nightmare of Red Lobster when I saw "BBQ" - three of my favortie letters when together... I will *always* try an unknown BBQ joint - and I was very pleased that it wasn't another chain. Place was clean but not fancy, prices were very good; I ordered the chopped pork sandwich w/beans - it came up fast, was large and tasty AND the beans weren't half bad - much better than simply "canned" beans but not so crazy good as Community Q - just good. But the meat was quite good - very tasty. I will come back to try the ribs next time - and I suggest that YOU check them out too! Oh - and for the bad review by one person about their salads - YEAH - Salad. BBQ joint. Really? C'mon! *UPDATE* Went back a 2nd time last week - this time to really put this place to the test: Ribs. And they did NOT disappoint. Got the rib combo for ~$15 and thought it would just be a spendy lunch... Well, I got four huge ribs so that meant I had lunch for the next day too! And they were GOOD. So yeah - I really like this place. I'll be back again soon!

Growing up in the BBQ competition realm of the south USA... I'll say this pork is pretty good. Good texture. Good taste.

Baby!!!! They catered an event for my Sorority Christmas party and there was NOTHING LEFT. On time delivery, good food and reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?

When I was looking for a BBQ spot, I decided to give this place a shoot due to its good reviews. I ordered the full slab of ribs and 1lb of brisket with their famous sauce. Ribs - it was overly salty and did not have the Smokey favor I expected from the reviews. Brisket - this was relatively tough for something that I assumed was slow cooked. Also, there was not too much flavor. Sauce - this was probably the best part of the meal. Had a good about note to it and is pretty unique. I was very surprised with some reviewers claiming this to be the best ribs they ever had. Guess they really have not explored and tasted real southern BBQ. Heirloom BBQ is close by and they seem to have a fantastic following.

This hole in the wall is simply excellent. A family owned and operated business that knows what they are doing when it comes not only to the bbq but to the sides as well. We ordered the combo plate of pork & brisket. Both meats were juicy and smokey and tasted great on their own. Their table sauces just enhanced that meaty smokey flavor. We had the Macaroni, potato salad, & collards as sides. Fresh and homemade style. Macaroni so often gets mushy while potato salad can suffer from mushy or undercooked potato. Neither a problem here. The collards maintained their texture while being soft. The reheat value was great too! Good thing, because the portion was plenty enough for 2 to eat dinner and have leftovers.

I was headed to the Goodwill a few doors down and got a whiff of b.b.q. after not eating all day it didn't take but a minute to decide a snack was needed pronto. Walking in was immediately greeted by a man at the counter and wanted to know what I wanted ? I let him know that it was "my first time in" he was helpful & polite we were laughing and joking around at the counter as he gave me a few options then finally decided on the Rib Sandwich it comes with three ribs, two pieces of white bread and you pick a side "collards please". A few minutes later the order was ready damn it looked good and couldn't wait to dig in but wait, b.b.q. ribs are something to looked at first. Is there a smoke ring, how much fat is there, does it pull off the bone or does the meat stick to it when given a tug, is there any crust or charring on the outside, is the meat moist or dry ? These ribs met most of my expectations meaty, moist, you could peel off the top layer then sink your teeth into the rest and had just enough fat to keep you lickin your fingers. The side dish being collards were really tasty so much so that after eating them that I went back to the counter and bought a pint to go. Sauces - There are three of them and don't really care for any of them two are sweet the other hot so you may have to concoct your own. Upon further investigation the next visit an order was placed for a 3/4 lb. plate knowing I would get 2+ meals out of this, choices Sliced Brisket & Hot Sausage with (2) greens and mac n cheese. (No bread) Downside - The brisket came out in thick hand cut slices but was dry and in need of sauce for moisture. The mac n cheese was over cooked mush and exchanged it for more greens, btw these are flavored with turkey. Upside - Hot sausage - Yum the sausage has a nice "kick" that lingers and keeps your attention if you are shy about spicy food this is not for you. I shared this with co workers & we all enjoyed it. Still liking the greens. The "Pork sandwich" seems to be popular this will be the next item to try.

I stopped by Thompson Brothers BBQ for Friday lunch with my coworkers and I'm sad to say we weren't thoroughly impressed. The food wasn't bad, but I think the other Cobb County BBQ joints (Heirloom, Williamson Bros, Dave Poe's, Sam's) have a leg up on this place. The Thompson brothers (five of them) are from Oklahoma, hence the Sooner decor inside the restaurant. It's a small establishment with seating for upwards of maybe 30 people. Mostly compact tables for two, though they can be combined. A lot of customers come in for take-out. Very much a casual setup with ordering and pickup done at the counter. There's a small TV mounted high at one end of the store. Thompson Brothers' menu includes beef brisket, pork, chicken, ribs, ham, beef sausage, hot links, and bologna. The brisket and pork come either sliced or chopped. Pulled is not an option. Sides include baked beans, coleslaw, collard greens, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese. No fried okra (!). Some of the desserts include banana pudding, peach cobbler, and red velvet cake. You can get a sandwich, plate, or platter; the difference being the amount of meat and sides. Sandwiches come with a side and are $6.99 or less. Plates and platters come with a 1/2 lb to 3/4 lb of meat, 2+ sides, and 2 pieces of Texas toast, starting at $8.99 per. Here's what I tried: Meats: Sliced beef brisket Chopped pork Sides: Collard greens Coleslaw Mac and cheese Texas toast We ordered plates and the portion sizes for the meats leaned towards the generous side. Unfortunately, the beef brisket wasn't all that great. It was rather tough and dry. Very chewy and required tons of sauce. Speaking of sauce, 3 sauces are provided at the table: hot, spicy, and sweet. The "hot" is spicier than the "spicy." I like eating spicy foods and thought the "hot" BBQ sauce was sufficiently spicy. I liked the chopped pork, though it was quite fatty. You can hear the folks in the kitchen chopping the meat. It's really loud. The sides were OK. The Texas (buttered) toast was good. The slaw and greens were fine. The slaw was fresh and crisp. The greens were plain (no meat). Luckily, Bruce's Green Hot Pepper Sauce was there to spruce it up. The mac and cheese was disappointing. Most BBQ restaurants make outstanding mac and cheese, but the version here is regrettably bland and lackluster. Nice staff and excellent service. Cashier was friendly and courteous, our orders came out in a reasonable amount of time, and an employee politely cleared out our table for us. Thompson Brothers BBQ is located in the same shopping center as Office Depot, Yakitori Jinbei, and Tacos La Villa on Cobb Parkway, across from Best Buy Cumberland.

I'm a Yankee, so I don't know much about the 'cue other than I live in Charlotte where they know barbecue. Thompson Brothers is good, especially since it's "hole-in-the-wall" but I have had better. I went with the chopped brisket platter, which comes with two sides. The brisket was a bit dry and needed a few good squirts of the sauce on the table. The cole slaw was also dry without enough mayo to soften the cabbage. The mac & cheese was hot and too soft, but it did have a good flavor. Maybe this is the way they do it here in the northern parts of Atlanta?

First let me say I remember when this place opened many years ago when I lived in Smyrna. As I was leaving my favorite black and beauty supply store, I looked across the street and thought I could go for some barbecue. I stopped in for lunch, a brisket sandwich which was way bigger than I expected and for my side I had brunch next year which was delicious! I will be back very soon. Amazing Food! Amazing Customer Service! I ordered for our office, Everyone LOVED the food! I got the chopped brisket sandwich with greens, brunswick stew and baked beans - Incredible! This place felt and tasted like home! Cannot wait to go back.

This place is SO good - my goodness. My friend and I had the brisket, collards, greens, and mac & cheese. Every single thing was delicious. The greens were flavorful and well seasoned. The baked beans and mac & cheese was hot and tasty. *The baked beans did have a little kick to them. I got a chopped brisket sandwich on Texas and boy was it finger lickin' good. The have some of the best brisket I've tasted in town. They also have a sweet, hot, and mix of both bbq sauces to use. I smothered my sandwich with the mix - got a little sweet and spicy action going on. The food is absolutely amazing and doesn't break your wallet. If we hadn't been so stuffed, we would have gotten desert as well. There's plenty of parking and seating as this place is located within a plaza. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I can already tell this is going to be a bbq staple for me and my friends/family. Can't wait to go here again!

As someone who travels regularly and has eaten BBQ all over the country, I can only rate Thompson Bros as average. It was good, but not exceptional. The 30 minute wait was not worth it for me.

Really did not enjoy my lunch here. Maybe a barbecue restaurant isn't the place to order a salad, but when you're KETO it may be your only option. All of my salad was very pond-scummy (that algae lettuce), so much so that I didn't eat it at all and just pulled the pork off the top and ate it separately. The pork wasn't even very good- very fatty, none of that good enjoyable char/bark. Didn't enjoy this, neither did my coworker.

Went here for lunch today and loved it. This is the definition of a hole in the wall and it was amazing.

BBQ was very commercial like and extremely DRY!!!! Everything on my plate was dry including the greens smh. The food tasted like it was sitting out for hours. To make matters worse, my wife felt like she had to puke after eating the old food. We literally wasted our money and threw our food away half way through! I'm from Texas and have been to both Memphis and Kansas City so I know good bbq. If you are planning on going here please eat elsewhere across the street at the Olive Garden.

I visited Thompson Brothers today for the first time I had a taste for barbeque and I'm glad I stopped here. I was pleasantly greeted when I entered the establishment (that means alot to me). I ordered the rib platter. The rib platter comes with ribs, three sides, toast & barbeque sauce. For sides, I went with baked beans, mac & cheese & potato salad. I place my order to go I only waited for about 5 mins. My food was package so nice & neat. The ribs were seasoned perfectly and the sides were great. I'll definitely go back.
