7 London Buffets That Are Actually Quite Good - London - The Infatuation

"Thonglor Express’ all-you-can-eat lunch is like a buffet run by strict parents. The kind who make you finish your plate before reaching for more. At the Thai spot near Tottenham Court Road, line up by the counter from 2:30pm, point politely at what you want, and the servers behind the till scoop manang curry over rice and vegetarian spring rolls. When you finish the disposable bowl, you can return to the counter for as many refills as you want until 4:30pm when the buffet cuts off. The curries are creamy and piping hot, and things like fried fish is regularly topped up, making it a great-value lunch option for anyone who never gets fully satisfied from a build-your-own-bowl lunch." - sinead cranna, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak

Thonglor Express - Review - Bloomsbury - London - The Infatuation

"Thonglor Express’ all-you-can-eat lunch is like a buffet run by strict parents. The kind who make you finish your plate before reaching for more. At the Thai spot near Tottenham Court Road, line up by the counter from 2:30pm, point politely at what you want, and the servers behind the till scoop panang curry over rice and vegetarian spring rolls. The curries are creamy and piping hot, and things like fried fish is regularly topped up, making it a great-value lunch option for anyone who never gets fully satisfied from a build-your-own-salad-bowl lunch. You’ll spot friends splitting a sticky mango rice by the back, or couples sitting side by side while tucking into their tofu stir-fry. But it’s a small, casual space, and the majority of seating is solo-friendly, making it ideal for a day-off post-shopping lunch. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute" - Rianne Shlebak

2:30pm all you can eat for 13.50. The dishes taste alright. Get the fried fish while it’s fresh — it gets hard and chewy after a while. Deep fried pork tasted alright.

Our first visit today and it won’t be our last. We ordered from the A La Carte Menu on a Saturday. We came at a good time before it got busy. We were very well taken care of by the staff, especially by one lady on the till in particular. She kept a friendly eye on us, cleaning our table, making sure our order was correct and ensured we received our sticky rice dessert in good time! Food is exceptional. Quality ingredients. They use fat, juicy and firm prawns and remove the guts! Lovely strong ice tea and heavenly Tom Yum soup with lots of depth. I love a relaxed Thai place where the prices are reasonable, the food tastes like authentic home cooking and the ambience is laid back, but the service is still top notch. See you again soon!

Super amazing and authentic thai food! Loved the buffet, only £13.50 and the service was quick! Staff are friendly and helpful, and I managed to try everything that was in the buffet 😋 I would definitely come back again for food, and hope to try the desserts next time 🤪 thank you again, this place made me think of my month in Thailand!

The tom yum was delicious, the longan juice was tasty, and the rice dishes were excellent. The hospitality was great, and the quality, price, and flavour were all outstanding. I’ll definitely come back again!

Great lunch buffet! No wait time when we arrived, and the portions were surprisingly generous the containers looked small, but they held much more food than expected. Everything was tasty and fresh. It did get busy later, but with a 2-hour sitting the flow stayed manageable. During our visit, I ate three times and my partner ate twice for me, the food was truly to die for. Definitely a place we’ll revisit

I stopped by this restaurant since it was across the street from where I stayed and ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup—so good! The broth had a rich, tangy flavor with just the right amount of spice, and there was a generous amount of meat in every bite. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Thai milk tea was also very good. Friendly service and quick turnaround too. Definitely recommend if you’re craving a hearty, flavorful Thai meal.

Had the Tom Yum noodle soup and it is the best i’ve had in london, the soup is sour, savoury and light, it had just the right spiciness while keeping it flavourful, they don’t skimp on toppings and the noodles are cooked well. The thai milk tea was a bit on he sweet side for me but still had a good tea flavour. The service was quick and friendly and environment was clean and warm. Overall a great meal

Thonglor Express serves really tasty Thai food! We went for the buffet which was just £13.50 , it's excellent value for what you get. I'd definitely recommend! Unfortunately, there were two downsides to my visit. First, I didn’t want to waste my last bowl of food and asked for a lid to take it away, but was refused due to store rules. This policy leads to a lot of unnecessary food waste. They’d be far better off charging a small fee for take-away containers rather than throwing perfectly good food away. Secondly, a man came in and attempted to steal my phone by covering it with a newspaper. Thankfully, he was caught by my cousin in the act and left quickly, but the staff were too busy to notice what was happening. Be mindful of your belongings while dining here! All in all, great flavours, great food, staff were friendly too.
