"Stop in after a day of shopping at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago or before a show at the Rosemont Theatre for a drink at Thorn Restaurant & Lounge inside the Rose Hotel. Favorites include the Mule in the Meadow made with house-infused lavender lemongrass vodka and the Petaltini, a blend of Svedka Rosé and strawberry gin served with a rose-shaped ice cube." - Samantha Nelson

Great in hotel option for a two day stay! Came to stay at the Rose hotel by Hilton for two days and really enjoyed the delicious options that the thorn restaurant and lounge had to offer. On the first day I had the delicious rose burger, which was well seasoned with a delicious bun and tasty fries. For breakfast I had the breakfast burrito which the big highlight there was actually the smashed red potatoes. While the burrito was not bad a probably will try something else in the future. I would definitely come back for a nice meal!

Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people. -shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily. -hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer. -Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.

The bar is inside the Rose Hotel. Very beautiful atmosphere, set up for any occasion, romantic, colleagues, friends... Jonny, the bar tender, was really awesome. Although I wasn't sitting at the bar, he made sure I was doing OK. They have great cocktails and a wide variety of other alcoholic drinks.( whiskey, beer, wine). The food looks amazing. I'll be back to try the menu. The bathroom is very beautiful and clean. They had live music on Saturday when I was there.

This is a great spot for some nice scenery and good food... please keep in mind I said good food...not great. I liked it but I wanted the food to have more seasoning...I had to salt everything but again, overall, nice spot, beautiful scenery, good drink and the food was decent. Check it out!

Presently staying at another hotel, but when I walked into here… now I want to stay here!!! A hotel with a cool restaurant! The food is delicious, like finger licking good. The smash burger is yummmy! Was browsing the hotel rooms while I was waiting for my smash burger… they look really nice and the prices seem reasonable. By the way they do their french fries just like I make them in my own restaurant… I run a paintball park with a restaurant up in Canada.

there’s very little question that the food prepared in some of these hotels is a much better option than what you might get out of an independent restaurant or even a chain. Very high-quality ingredients, presentation, and creativity in the menu. Highly recommended. atmosphere is OK but location is a bit buried in the concrete jungle of OHare surrounds.

We decided to eat here before attending a show and we were NOT disappointed! The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable with attentive upscale service. Since we had a long night ahead, we didn't want to stufd ourselves, so we decided to order 4 appetizers. Let me tell you that the serving sizes are amazing and the appetizers were delicious! The surf and turf nachos can easily be a dinner for one person! The chicken wings were HUGE and flavorful! I wasn't thrilled with the calamari as it was a bit greasy, but the Mediterranean plate was super tasty! We had breakfast the next morning, and I would 100% take a pass on the oatmeal. It was Luke warm water mixed in with instant oatmeal. The Krasinski, brown sugar, and almonds saved the day. We also got a Greek yogurt dish with fresh fruit, honey, cashews, and flax seed that was large enough for 2 of us to share. I'd highly recommend that!

Yelp
This spot is located within The Rose Hotel in Chicago. Thorn Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience both for breakfast and dinner with its delicious and fresh cuisine with an Asian twist. Thorn's menu is a fusion of modern American food favorites and a few signature Thorn Restaurant items. From classic Avocado Toast & Omelets to the fresh Poke Bowl and Seafood Flatbread. Every dish I've tried has had great flavor. Also noteworthy are the Greek yogurt bowls for breakfast! Thanks to Executive Chef Scott Wallett for feeding me great food at a convenient spot close to O'Hare.

Yelp
After some shopping at the outlet malls, we decided to grab a bite to eat. Since it's restaurant week, we decided on a place neither of us had been. It's in a hotel right off the parking. It's a decent view. I ordered the Rose Burger and fries + the Pineapple Cobbler cocktail. I requested medium rare, but it came out medium/well done. For dessert was the ginger creme brulee. It took about 15 minutes for desserts. The ambiance was nice, and the seating was in a wide open room. You definitely don't feel crowded. Nothing really wowed me over.

Yelp
Such an only ok experience. I saw that this restaurant was listed on the Rosemont restaurant week list, so decided to give them a try. However, restaurant week menu was not offered, so we had to ask about it. Inside was very pretty. We were greeted promptly. However, service was suuuuuuper slow. With 2 servers taking care of us, I was surprised at the slowness. I ordered the chicken and waffles - skip em. The waffle tasted like free hotel breakfast. Chicken had no flavor. My favorite item that I ordered was a mocktail. Made with 3 types of juice, it was refreshing. Unfortunately, it was a miss for me.

Yelp
I could go on and on about Thorn! Located inside of the Rose hotel, this a perfect spot to meet with friends, get some work done over a drink, have a date, and lounge around over some delicious food. Right when you enter the lobby, the restaurant will be on the right side so it's very easy to find. I could rave about the staff all day - Chef Nick and bar manager Mike are both so hospitable, personable and they do such a great job with the food and drinks at Thorn. The food pleasantly surprised me - you never think hotel restaurants are that amazing, but the food here really trumps that opinion! I recommend the salmon poke bowl, burrata avocado toast, and hemp hummus. The cocktails here are so intricate and good - I recommend the Petaltini, which is a martini served with a big rose shaped ice cube in the middle. Everything is reasonably priced, as well. The restaurant is very dimly lit and has a romantic ambiance to it; I loved it! I'm already planning on coming here to work at the lounge and order some lunch. Can't wait to see the staff again and try another yummy meal here!

Yelp
Located within the Rose hotel it was a great stop before we went shopping at the outlet. Open and doesn't feel like a hotel restaurant. It felt a little understaffed because service was a little slow but overall very good. The kitchen was able to make some adjustments as both myself and my friend recommended. Food came out fast and was delicious. Moderately sized portions. We both didn't have left overs.

Nina Z.

Yelp
Such a cute little restaurant. Great lighting and pretty decor. The cocktails are absolutely lovely so creative and delicious. The food is good too. Our server was really nice. I'd recommend trying this out if not for the food definitely the cocktails.

Najma H.

Yelp
Menu here is pretty good and the customer service was great. The location inside the hotel was also very convenient and a pretty setting.

Yelp
Great place right near O'Hare. The service was great! Our waitress made great suggestions. We went with the chicken and waffles. The honey butter with the waffle was so good. I will say if you are looking for a quick bite after a long flight, this could be a great stop. Located inside of The Rose Hotel.

Yelp
I am still in disbelief over my experience at this restaurant and lounge yesterday. I approached the front desk of the hotel and they directed me to go to their lounge. There was a small group of people huddled around the bar of the lounge but there were no lounge personnel around. After awkwardly standing around for two minutes I approached the bartender and she said to go ahead and take a seat at whatever table I wanted. After sitting down and waiting for over 20 minutes I approached the bartender again and asked if someone was going to come to my table to take my order vs if I need to order at the bat. She apologized and said she would be there soon. After another 10 minutes she made her way over to my table, took my drink order, and then eventually I received my drink. I had made these reservations with the hopes of eating dinner, but after waiting around for over an hour and a half, and after three different trips to the bartender, our party was continuously ignored and in summary we ended up leaving because we never even had our order taken. No one really cared that we left or apologized for essentially wasting our time. We ended up going across the street and having a very pleasant experience a Trulucks.

Yelp
When we first arrived we were waited on by someone on the phone just handing menus and waters while they chit chatted. Then tried to order the Long Island Ice Tea from the cocktails- they said they're out of cold brew they use. I asked if they can use a different cold brew since they serve Starbucks too, she said no. So wasn't a great start out after coming back for a do-over after a bad experience. I did order a cold brew Starbucks drink and added a shot of kahlua in it. We were here to drink at the bar and was instantly given a check after ordering one drink. Then after we finished our drinks we wanted another drink but the bartender needed to be flagged down in order for that to happen. All in all it was another terrible service and visit. One good thing was the something fruity drink was delicious. Just needs better bartended/service. After our first bad experience management did reach out to us and tried to make things better by sending a gift card, which was great but the service fell short by A LOT again.

Yelp
I actually was a part of the group that was able to do our tour of one of the suites that's available here at the Hilton Rose hotel. The suite that we toured was a corner suite. Beautifully furnished. Very spacious. Nice little city of view room even had the bathroom where you can watch television. It's like embedded into the mirror. Also very modern, very stylish yet. Minimalist concept. I cannot wait to go on to the website and actually book one of these beautiful rooms.

Yelp
The food was really good. I got the Rose Burger. It looks simple but gosh it was very soft and easy for me to eat. Usually when I eat burgers At restaurants I always make a mess. The waitress even said that I made the right choice. Definitely was delicious. The fries was crispy just the way I loved them. My boyfriend got the shrimp tacos. He didn't tell me how it was but he said he wish it came with some sort of green sauces for the shrimp tacos. The area is really cute and very cozy. Sat by the window because I wanted to see the snow falling while I had a nice meal with my boyfriend. I had a great time here. It's inside The Rose Hotel O'Hare. If anyone does come here I recommend the Rose Burger.

Brian K. E.

Yelp
Excellent food at reasonable prices and the staff is fantastic! Friendly and attentive, I travel a lot and have not been as impressed with a hotel restaurant as I am with this one. I would come back just for a meal even if I wasn't staying here.

Gianna K.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast. Hubby said his breakfast burrito was probably the best he's ever had. I had the Italian avocado toast and it was delicious. The bread it came on was super yummy.

Leang E.

Yelp
I love that the restaurant is fittingly called Thorn located at the Rose Hotel. I think they were surprisingly slammed Friday night as I placed an order at the restaurant as no one was picking up the phone. I was finally able to get someone to take my order but got the ginger miso wings, roasted cauliflower bowl, and fries. Everything was amazingly delicious so much so that we got the Buffalo and Bbq wings the next day, which was also very flavorful and just as great! It wasn't as busy that next day and got to talking with the staff there and completely understandable for the wait and they are very nice. Prices are reasonable as well. We are already talking about getting food from here the next time we are in town.

Munsanje M.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The service that we received last Saturday was beyond unacceptable and I will not be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. The food was mediocre and drinks were actually good but the service was disgusting. I received a drink with an actual bug in it and the bartender came over and said "I will not be remaking your drink because we use hibiscus and it's just going to look the exact same" I know what a bug looks like and as you can see, my friend ordered another one and there is CLEARLY no bugs in her drink. The man was very rude and demeaning and no reason why they had to speak to us in that manner when I was being polite & just requested that another drink be made. Do not waste your money here.

D. N.

Yelp
Breakfast was fantastic! We had the Italian Avocado Toast, two standard breakfasts (eggs, toast, meat, potato), and some specialty cocktails. $100 for three breakfasts with one drink each is a tad bit pricey in my opinion, but the food was really good. Each breakfast is about $20 after tax is all said and done with which is a little steep so it's not somewhere I'll make a regular place, but for a special occasion, it'll work. The tables are super tiny. A table for 3 was more like a table for 2 and they allow seating up to 4 at one of those small tables! Don't know how that would've worked. We put a lot of the table fixtures on another table to make room.

Leslie B.

Yelp
Went there with the family for Easter Brunch. The staff were very friendly and the food was pretty good but a little pricey. You get kind of sent off if you put the name of the restaurant in the GPS, I'm glad the internet told us it was inside the Rose Hotel. It wasn't overly crowded and the ambiance was really nice. Will probably try it again for lunch or dinner.

Joy G.

Yelp
Open during the pandemic season with light service and social distancing. Of course that's up to your discretion because It is an open area and all the chairs are fabric aka non wipeable I stayed at the hotel and was pleasantly surprised by how yummy my meal was so I had to review. No one really here early afternoon so I asked for the private room I ordered the Avocado toast meal without the toast (gf bread supply chain wonky) but I didn't miss it. Eggs light and fluffy, avocado fresh and they serve Teavanna tea. Super friendly and helpful staff all over the hotel and here was no different. Near the airport and would definitely come again for brunch.

Yelp
Terrific restaurant! Interesting and inventive menu with vegan choices available. Great poke bowl!

Reah A.

Yelp
Amazing decor and food! I've been a few times for a post work happy hour and every single appetizer is sooo delicious. Some of the best hummus I've ever had, and the wings and bao buns are must orders!

Elaine P.

Yelp
This is absolutely not your typical hotel restaurant. Had dinner and breakfast here both were really good- dinner was exceptional. For dinner we shared several small plates that showed some creative flavor approaches, fresh ingredients, and nice presentation. We had the kimchi fries- wow, the avocado flatbread- solid and really nice bread, the Spanish hummus - oh, my!, and the fried chicken Bao bun- totally not traditional but totally yummy. For dessert we shared a flourless cake and affogato- both were delicious. For breakfast we had the avocado toast - nice with a perfectly cooked egg, the breakfast burrito- they use a great chorizo, and a breakfast croissant. All were quite good and the coffee was great. Attentive service, and a really cool vibe. This was possibly the best hotel meal I've ever enjoyed. I'd eat here even if I wasn't staying.

Alice B.

Yelp
Located in the rose hotel in rosemont. They didn't have our reservations but they quickly set us up in the banquets table for 4. The ambiance is very swanky due to the hotel vibe is swanky. We had brunch and everything was really good. Service took forever and when the guys got their eggs and bacon, there were not served with toast?? My hash was yummy and my niece who ordered the spring salad did I not get what was supposed to be in it. They did remake it though. A few things were not filling and felt skimpy. I might come back because the food was tasty.

Argiro V.

Yelp
I ordered an overpriced cocktail that was not worth the $15 in the suburbs, and my fish tacos and roasted vegetables never came. After asking for an update on my food three times, the fish tacos came when everyone else was already done with dessert. They forgot the side too, so I cancelled that. The taco shells were soggy so I just ate the shrimp. They also overcharged me $11. Manager called offering a coupon for my next visit. Really? I had to pay for a horrible meal, didn't get what I ordered, AND you overcharged me by $11 and you want me to spent more money at your establishment? He also said he'd "have the financial office call me to issue a refund" but of course that never happened. Too bad the service and food don't match its atmosphere because it's a really cute place.

Jordan H.

Yelp
Everyone in our group liked our dishes. Tables are tiny. The roses on the table were visibly past their expiration date, a bit of a let down, when the name of the hotel that the lounge is located in, is called 'The Rose Hotel" lol. Brunch cocktails were tasty. An all around pleasant experience.

Mary P.

Yelp
Very delicious! Located in the Rose Hotel. Picked up my sister from O'Hare & wanted to wait out rush hour traffic and have a meal. We had the hummus & bao buns as starters. Very good. Brandon, our server, made my sister a mocktail that was delicious & not overly sweet. I had the shrimp tacos for dinner & my sister had the grain bowl w/salmon, both excellent. The room had a funky vibe. Would heartily recommend.

Areli P.

Yelp
It was my first time at The Thorn . The atmosphere was great. Sabrina and Sharon were very attentive and went above and beyond by giving me descriptive details about the menu. When I return to Rosemont I will definitely be stopping by The Thorn and request Sabrina and Sharon.
