After a long day of touring Charleston, we decided to dine in the lively Thoroughbred Club. We enjoyed our food choices very much and cocktails. It was fun watching the bartender whip up specialty drinks. Most of all, we appreciated the piano music playing at the bar. The pianist had quite the repertoire and that added to our overall experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an unforgettable experience at the Thoroughbred Club inside The Charleston Place, and it was all thanks to our amazing waitress, Karla. From the moment we sat down, she went above and beyond. She knew we wanted to share an entrée and had it beautifully plated on two separate dishes without us even asking (a small touch that made a big impact). But the highlight? Karla surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary, and it was genuinely one of the sweetest, most thoughtful gestures we’ve had while dining out. The atmosphere was elegant, the service was top-tier, piano played in the background, and Karla made us feel truly celebrated. She’s the kind of person who elevates the entire experience, warm, attentive, and totally on it. 10/10, highly recommend requesting her if you’re lucky enough to visit!

I really liked the upscale atmosphere, live music, and excellent drinks. Really excellent cocktails with upscale glasses, picks, napkins etc. a nice departure from the market street neighborhood. The food is very basic, with tasty options but little variety. Still, would recommend a visit here.

My husband and I visited from Florida and stopped at the Thoroughbred bar. Heath, the bartender, was AMAZING. Great personality, fun to chat with, and took great care of us. He made our visit to Charleston memorable 👍

The absolute best shrimp and Grits I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Perfect early dinner. Having lived and worked in Charleston for five years, I've tasted most everyone's shrimp and grits.

Beautiful classic setting. Didn’t like the burnt bread and thought it should have come with butter. Cheese plate was just ok. I enjoyed my cocktail but didn’t love the others I tasted amongst the group.

They had a really delicious take on shrimp and grits. Lobster roll was also really good but not the flavor of the shrimp and grits was on another level. The crème brûlée being lit at the table was really fun and delicious. Service was super friendly and attentive.
