The 14 Best New Restaurants in Pittsburgh | Eater

"From the folks behind the Wigle Whiskey Distillery comes this cider and meadery, a 1,500-square-foot, family-friendly space with a bar, communal tables, and a giant Lite-Brite-style wall. Ciders are intriguing, and the selection includes dry, off-dry, and pear versions, as well as hopped ciders; beer and cocktails are also options. Snacks pair well with the drink menu, from the pickles to cheeses and charcuterie, moving into thin-crust pizzas and desserts, like just-baked cookies." - Melissa McCart

The cutest place with the best Cider in ALL of Pittsburgh! I fell in love instantly! This brewery is so cute and the inside is adorable. I loved how passionate Bryan was about the process of creating the Cider. He had a vast knowledge and a clear admiration for create new and fun flavors of Cider and the history behind the process! The pizzas were sooooo good. Fresh and made to order. Great toppings and choices. As well as their Ciders. SOOOO many different options to choose from. You have to try Northern Sky if you go! It's not too sweet and it's not too tart! The perfect blend! Oh did I mention..... there is PLENTY OF PARKING such a win for anyone worried about where to park! Also all the waitstaff is super friendly!

My sister had her rehearsal dinner here. Great atmosphere, amazing staff, and the food.... was off the charts!

Very cool spot with both indoor & outdoor seating. Outside has some lawn games, like Kan Jam, Cornhole, Connect 4, etc. We chose to sit outside: while it was a little buggy, we didn’t get any mosquitos bites. I definitely recommend getting a flight while here - they had a nice range of ciders to enjoy. Their pizzas are solid, but nothing outstanding. We enjoyed the flavorings of the oil drizzle on the 5 Cheese pizza. Like other reviews have mentioned, the ordering process is a bit troublesome. You’re given a stop/go system to flag down the staff, but there’s poor WiFi connection outdoors. Our drink order didn’t make its way to the kitchen as first & we had to physically move closer to the building to get the card reader to process our check at the end of the night. Regardless, the staff were both friendly & great - so as long as you get their attention, they’ll take care of you & work through any problems!

Came here recently with some family and friends for brunch and we left stuffed. We booked way in advance and got seated right by the glass door where we could watch the Cider tours. Our party ordered the cheese, meat plates and the sourdough french toast for appetizers. We cheese was so fresh and they had a great selection of meats. The french toast is a much order if you want something sweet. As for the pizzas, we ordered the hash, roasted apple, zucchini, margherita, and pepperoni. We all fought for the hash and the apple. They have a nice combination of savory pizzas. The flights provided a nice addition to meal. I'd definitely get the Experimental and down the bourbon barrel. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here. Service was great and the ingredients in all of the dishes were so fresh. The cheese here is just on another level. Highly recommend this spot for brunch and large groups.

Cool spot - yummy food, great atmosphere, and delicious cider! We sampled 2 cider flights and really enjoyed the Farmhouse. Pizza was pretty good this was the Sweet Heat a good mix of spice and honey just wished it was a bit more well done. Wasn’t too busy on our Friday night dinner but it’s pretty small space and not too many tables so I wound suggest a reservation.

Here me out - I think this place has potential, but what we experienced during our visit was definitely a mismanaged, shoot from the hip, type of atmosphere. The place is nice and the food is pretty good, but from pulling into the parking lot, to being told how to order and then where and from whom to order, this felt very disjointed. When you pull in, there is a place to sit outside, but there was no one there. We went upstairs where we found someone who said all orders had to go through her, and we could order using a QR code. This was all fine, with the slight exception that mobile service is rough here and there is no WiFi. Moving on, we got some drinks, cider, which in general felt a bit unfinished to me, but was fine, and went downstairs to sit outside. Then the wait staff started showing up. They told us we had to order through them. Long story short, our order got lost and we waited about 1.5 hours before asking what was going on. They offered a discount for the late meal, which they ended up not giving us, and then said we'd get a free pizza next time... Which they didn't give us. Instead they gave us 2 drink vouchers all after telling the wait staff that we wanted to cancel the order and would share our friends' instead. So we went from getting a refund, to getting the food after we shared our friends' meal, and not getting it discounted at all. Again, I think this place is fine overall and has potential, but from the experience we had here, we don't plan to return.

Google
It's a 5/5 for ciders and about 3/5 for pizza. Amazing choice of ciders, easy to find something for yourself. I'm definitely tempted to try more in future! Unfortunately pizza was disappointing, both the regular one and gluten free.

Google
This place has restored my faith in pizza. All of the ciders are good. If you arrive early, it isn’t busy. They once had a New Year’s Eve dinner (I don’t think they’ve offered it more than once) and it was amazing. Highly recommend

Yelp
4.25 rating. The location is tucked in the North Side of the city off a Main Street. You have to enter up a long flight of steps. Once inside the space is bright and welcoming. While I was there we had some delicious pizzas, some good apps. I tried several different ciders and liked them all. I did get a tour of the brewery downstairs. It was interesting. I really liked that they sourced the apple juice from a farm not far away. They made quite a wide variety of ciders. I would like to go back again soon.

Yelp
Thredbard cider House is one of our must stop when we are in town. We arrived on a Wednesday evening at about 5 o'clock, which is when they open. We were the only ones for quite some time and it was a little odd as when we first walked in the lights in the entranceway were off so it almost made them feel like they were closed. Thankfully, there was a server who was folding Silverware who greeted us and had us take a seat. They have several ciders that are available, and I opted to start with a flight. I tried the majority of their seasonal offering with the exception of the pumpkin spice as I'm not a fan in general. I really like the spice cider. It is my favorite. I did end up ordering a glass of it. The food options arevery artisan. My husband opted for the meatballs . They are very large, the overall flavoring to him seemed a little blah. I did try them. I found them to be a very moist and thought the flavoring was good. I opted to do the featured flatbread, which was the mac attack. If you've had a famous, fast food chains signature burger with thousand island dressing you will find similarities. I did find the flatbread crust was a little bit to thick for my liking and there was more sauce on it than there was actual meat. It was OK. They have a private lot, which is fantastic as parking is at such a premium in the city.

Yelp
We stopped by on a Wednesday night last month around 6:30pm. We originally intended to just pick up a cookie order but decided to stay for a drink and a snack. We had the whole place to ourselves which was really nice because the staff was really attentive. The cider was pretty good and reasonably priced. The pesto pizza we got was flavorful but the crust wasn't my favorite.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious- I had a variety of pies (pepperoni, apple roasted, pierogi) and was obsessed with the roasted apple! I also treated some great dip options (buffalo chicken, buffalo cauliflower, Mexican street corn, pimento cheese) and they were all equally so good. The service was fast and friendly. Great vibes and a great ambiance I love coming here for trivia nights and hanging out with friends. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
GREAT CIDERS, PIZZAS, and VIBES! Tried Threadbare Coder House for the first time last night - I am REALLY late to this party - and it was fantastic! First off, if you're a toddler mom like me, you know a night out with the kids can be more stressful than fun. Threadbare was totally kid friendly and has an amazing corner with giant light bright boards and magnatiles for the kids to play! It was amazing and the most relaxed my husband and I have been out in a long time! Like it was so nice that even if the service and food hadn't been good I would have returned for that feature alone- thank goodness that wasn't the case! We ordered two pizzas - the buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch. Both pizzas were sooo good! We especially loved the buffalo chicken! The chicken is a slow cooked braised cider chicken that is so flavorful. The ranch on both pizzas is homemade and herby, and the dough is a homemade sourdough crust which was perfectly crisp and thin. Very well executed. Service was fantastic! We felt very well taken care of, we were given the cookie for the kids on the house and the food and drinks were out quickly. Our favorite cider was probably the tiki which is a seasonal recipe and has a hint of coconut. It was delicious. We also really liked the imperial cherry and guava flavors. The bridge city bubbly was nice but sweet lovers beware - it's very dry. Overall we loved our visit to Threadbare and will be back soon! Our only regret is that we didn't know about it sooner!

Yelp
How is it I've never written a review? I guess it's just another spot I regretfully take for granted. The ciders are so far beyond awesome. Pizza is always super yum. Staff clearly love their jobs, they all seem like a happy family.

Yelp
Cider is always great, they have so many different varieties- including mixed cocktails, mead, and beer. Ordered the flight (the pear cider was my fav). Also ordered the sourdough breadsticks (has cheese on top). Sauce felt very generic like from a cheap jar or a can, not great. But the sticks themselves were really good. Outdoor space felt a little dingy right next to the parking lot, but it's always just nice being outside and I appreciate the fact they offer this space. Inside is gorgeous tho. Threadbare has wonderful people working there, everyone is so sweet and helpful. But that said, we decided to go on a night with trivia, and they must have been severely understaffed. It took 35+ minutes to get our drinks and over 45 for our breadsticks. Everyone was doing their best and staying positive which I appreciated, but the wait time was not great. I'll definitely be back though, this time hoping to get our orders faster. :-)

Yelp
A little hidden gem in Spring Garden. Threadbare offers both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a very relaxed and casual vibe and a great atmosphere. The staff is very chill, but there when you need anything. The food is delicious. We were there for the Sunday brunch menu and everything we had was tasty. If you are not sure what cider to try, they offer multiple different flights to taste test a few smaller sized ciders.
google avatar

Mallory M.

Yelp
Went back to Threadbare for Sunday brunch! We sat outside. Our table had an umbrella so we were in the shade which was nice since it was a hot, sunny day. The service was a little slow, but that was ok since we were enjoying the time with friends I got the lemonade cider -- so good! And the bacon and Brie pizza -- also very good!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here with my sister and her fiancee after the Pompeii exhibit that was showing over in the science center. Their big thing is their drinks so the food menu is kind of limited. That said, they do have pizzas that they make there and they were really good. I checked their menu and it doesn't look like they have the donuts anymore, but I enjoyed that as well. I imagine their cookies must be good too.

Yelp
We made a reservation for our family of 2 adults and 2 small children. When I first called to find out if Threadbare was family friendly, I was met with enthusiasm. The staff was excited to share that we would have a table near the "lite-brite" wall so our children could play. The kids LOVED it! They also loved the magna-tiles and jenga blocks. We ordered spinach & artichoke dip, Caesar salad, 5-cheese pizza, and the roasted apple pizza. We really liked the pizzas. The salad was yummy and crisp also. The artichoke dip could have been a bit more thick and cheesy, but we still enjoyed it. As for cider, we tried the Foundation Flight, mead flight, build-your-own flight, and also had a glass of the boquet de rose. I don't think there were really any that we didn't like. We did enjoy some more than others, and some had more flavor than others. For example, the honey mead was really strong with honey flavor. A bit overpowering. The limited release apple cider option didn't have strong enough flavors. I also found the Foundation options to all taste quite similar to one another. I liked all of the Foundation, but I think if I had to choose, I preferred the rose and... farmhouse? No, Allegheny Dry. No... farmhouse. See? I can't choose. :) The service was great. The staff was all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful in each of our experiences with them. We look forward to visiting Threadbare again soon!

Yelp
Great hidden gem in the area. Amazing selection of ciders and flight options. I was not expecting the pizza to be so good. Very nice surprise. Will come back for the pizza alone. Plenty of seating and pretty chill ambiance inside.

Yelp
Big fan of Threadbare cider and their cider house on the North Side! I've never had a cider here that I didn't like and often stop by to pick up a few bottles for myself and my family. They have a great variety of ciders and a drink menu that is always changing, so there's something for everyone's taste. I stopped by the restaurant a couple of times this summer (one for a really fun trivia night!) and the food is great, too! Really enjoyed the cheese pizza and artichoke dip in particular. I'd definitely recommend checking out their events list to see what's coming up.

Yelp
Nice people . Good gluten free pizza. It's an interesting atmosphere and the cider flight was great.

Yelp
I tried Threadbare for the first time this weekend with my family and I have to say it was a great experience. There were plenty of options for pizza as well as cider, and each one we tried was delicious! There was a very chill atmosphere and overall ambiance. The staff was also very friendly and helpful in all recommending their favorite pizzas and ciders. There is also a special discount on holiday 3-packs of cider going on right now, so we took one to-go. We will definitely be back though!
google avatar

Yelp
Don't let the outside discourage you, as most cider houses and breweries have this kind of style to it. The service was excellent; the staff were attentive and friendly. We started with the create-your-own-flights. Not pictured, the different ones were guava, apples & honey, and Perry the pear. My favorite cider was either ciderday or apples & honey. They weren't overly sweet or dry. My fiancé's favorite was the barrel reserve, which was more on the dry side and had an earthy taste. Now, for the food, the breadsticks were probably the best thing, just the homemade dough with the melted stringy cheese. The pizzas were good too; they had a wood fire oven taste to them a little bit. Overall, we would come back here, it's a good place to hang out with a group of friends.

Yelp
We checked out Threadbare for the 2nd time this weekend with our friends. The last time we went was winter so this time we decided to enjoy the outdoor area this time. We all had fun choosing flights and testing out the different flavors. The Bouqet de Rose was really nice. They were all quite refreshing on a warm, sunny day just not my first drink choice. We got pizza and it's woodfired oven style which I really like. They had some interesting brunch pizza options, but fomo had me pick the classic pep. It was good just a tad heavier on the cheese than I'd personally like. We ran into our other friend upstairs (Pittsburgh is a small world lol) and they said the hummus was bomb. This is a fun spot in Pittsburgh to check out with friends! Kind of off the beaten path, but worth checking out.
google avatar

Lori J.

Yelp
this was definitely worth checking out. the outside area is a very cool hang out when the weather is nice and the inside is a nice ambiance as well. check it out sometime they have live music! i love the foundation flight because it's a good variety to give you an idea of what you may like! why pick one thing when you can try them all?

Charles Z.

Yelp
Great food and cider, plenty of gluten free options or substitutions. This taco pizza was so amazing, definitely recommended if it's the special that day

Yelp
Checked out threadbare for the first time last night with our good friends and enjoyed our experience! They have a wide variety of ciders to choose from and of course good pizza too. We each tried a different cider and they were all very tasty. We then had their spinach dip and beer cheese for apps which were good too. For our pies we went with the roasted apple, sweet heat, and chicken bacon ranch. We all agreed that the sweet heat was our favorite, which was topped with pepperoni, onion, pickled jalapeños, and honey. The apple was unique too and is definitely something you don't find often. The service and environment was great too. Definitely a great place to get together with friends for a slice and some good drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot for drinks and hanging out with friends, especially on a nice summer day! The patio is dog friendly. Ask the bartenders for recommendations. I tried a dry cider and loved it!
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best cider ive ever had. The bottles are beautiful and I love grabbing a few to go to bring to dinner parties instead of wine. They have a few that taste similar to a delicious pet nat if you like natural wines, I highly recommend. I haven't had much food, just a pizza during one visit and it was excellent. The owners and staff are so nice and accommodating. We went in with a large group on a busy day and they helped make room for us and moved some tables around. Great spot
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Threadbare, and no surprise that they make amazing and delicious ciders. I think their flights are the best (and most fun) way to sample several of them. Their place in the north side of Pittsburgh had a big lot for ample and easy parking, and a lovely patio area that would probably be wonderful in the summer. The interior is fun and their staff is also great.
google avatar

Nelson B.

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends and we all ordered different pizzas. We ended up sharing and switching the pizzas. Everyone seemed to like the pesto pizza. The balsamic glaze is what made it really good. They don't have wait staff outside so you have to order upstairs and they'll bring it out to you sometime. You might have to go back up and get it. They cider selection is good as well. The space is good for a large group of people.
google avatar

Elise N.

Yelp
Waiters are great, definitely willing to accommodate changes to the order for dietary reasons. Quick seating inside for food on an early afternoon. Sweet heat pizza is good. I like that touch of sweetness. Older kids said the chicken bacon ranch pizza was not good. Youngest liked the cheese pizza. The bruschetta app is really good. The wait was long but I told my youngest this wasn't food that's quickly fried and served. I want to come back and try the mead and other flavors of Cider. I brought some farmhouse Cider home. The regular nonalcoholic apple Cider also got a thumbs up from my youngest.
google avatar

Anita J.

Yelp
Excellent service and pizza! Loved their caramel apple cider. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
We went to Threadbare the last weekend in September 2022. We had a great experience. I ordered the Elderberry Lemon experimental cider and husband had non alcoholic birch beer. We split a Caesar salad and a pizza. We got the pulled pork and apple. We were a little concerned that we didn't know how large it would be, and if we could finish it (because of my bariatric surgery). It was fine, along the lines of a medium. Very tasty. Lots of families with kids at 5PM on a Saturday. Open, with lots of space between tables. There is outdoor seating as well. They have a giant lite Brite for kids to play with. I had pictures but lost them in a recent phone reset. If I find them I will post them.

Yelp
4 friends and 4 pizzas. Anyway you slice it, Cider House meet our foodie needs! (pun definitely intended). Showed up around 6:45 on a Saturday and there were still a few tables open. This is one of those, seat-yourself places and so we found a nice table tucked away in one of the corners. Our server came over quickly and took our drink orders while we perused the menu. Food selection has enough options to keep things interesting without being overwhelming. We four friends wanted to try four pizzas so it worked out perfectly to share a slice from each of the pies. We also got a couple glasses of the non-alcoholic ciders (no drinkers in this group). It took a little while to get our pizzas, but they all came out at approximately the same time which we appreciate. We really enjoyed the sourdough crust and the locally-sourced toppings. I think the consensus was that the 3 Little Pigs Pizza was our favorite, the pepperoni was next, then the build-your-own, and finally the sweet potato. The only reason the sweet potato didn't fare as well as the others was that it came out a little soggier and seemed a little more bland than some of the other pizzas that had more meats and herbs. We skipped dessert, but not because it didn't look good. In fact, with the seasonal menu changes I think we'll be back and try and save some room for sweets too! Fun place, good food, great ambiance!

Yelp
Awesome spot for girls night! The tables are nice and long, which makes it easy to fit a group like mine into one place. There's also plenty of space between the other tables, yet it still feels cozy and comfortable. We shared the threadsticks, which were absolutely scrumptious. Flavorful and savory. We finished the whole platter long before our entrees arrived! We each got pizza and no one had any complaints. Mine was a margarita pizza big enough to finish most of it and take a couple slices home as leftovers - in other words, more than enough. I also tried their sweet cider and enjoyed every drop. My friends tried a variety of other ciders. The peach one sounded like everyone's favorite. I don't drink alcohol, so I couldn't say, but they sure seemed to like it! 100% worth the visit and I'd recommend it any day!
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Threadbare is such a cute spot and I love both their indoor and outdoor space! They have a huge parking lot which is super convenient. When you walk in you can seat yourself and flip the sign from red to green on the table when you are ready to order. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to start. It was very different from what I was expecting. It was rich and savory and a little bit spicy! 2 people in our group shared the bacon chicken ranch pizza and they loved it. I got the veggie pizza and it was pretty good! There were a lot of toppings and I liked their sauce! We have had their ciders a few times before, but this time at the Cider House the list was longer than ever! They had so many options. We each did a flight - mine consisting of the Farmhouse, Spiced, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Sweet Cherry. The spiced was definitely my favorite. I really like their cider! They have a good mix of sweet and dry. The cups for the flights were generous sizes, and it only cost $12. My boyfriend loved the peach cider! It was so summer-y and not too sweet. Next time we go, we will probably buy some bottles to go. There were people there with dogs and kids so it seems like you can take the whole fam! It was a great experience!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
I stopped in for a private event. We only had three appetizer options which weren't nearly as appealing as the photos other yelpers posted. I would like to come back when I have a full menu to check out, the pizza looks amazing! The cider was unique, I just wish the portions given were a bit more generous.

Yelp
I came here for the first time when they first opened and have been here several times since. It's just as good every time, yet the number of cider options keeps increasing! I'm a dry cider fan and Threadbare hits the mark, for sure. They have a bunch of options from super dry, to semi sweet, and even a mead. I love it all. Not only are their ciders delicious, but their pizza is awesome as well. I've gotten a different one each time I've come and I've never been disappointed. A couple things to mention if you've never been there: they're kid friendly and have some games/toys for kids to play with right next to bench seating. Also, they have a birthday club where they give you a discount on a cider purchase, a whiskey purchase from Wigle, and a FREE PIZZA!! Yeah!! They hosted yoga this past Saturday, which also included a tour and 3 cider samples, all for only $15. The only down side I could mention about the yoga is that you can hear all of the chatter going on in the restaurant. I was fortunate enough to be able to tune it out. My husband and friend on the other hand were not. I love it here and will continue to come. I just wish they had a bike rack!!

Yelp
Such a cool place and a great event! Today we visited to try the latest cider (Phil) and to grab a pizza while there. The cider - chilled and delicious... the pizza - so fresh! They do cool events here too - we took a mozzarella class which was so much fun. Today Phil was here.. I know can you believe it - PHIL!!! THE most famous groundhog ever!!! If your thinking if a fun night out - def a great place to stop!
google avatar

Molly R.

Yelp
What a variety of ciders on tap here! We came in for a cheese making class and stayed for the cider and food! We went to the Halloumi making class where we made Halloumi and biscuits! I couldn't eat the biscuit but my friend and husband both said they were delicious! We had a blast making Halloumi and I bought all the items to make it again. Our class came with a drink and we each tried cider based + whisky cocktails! I was a bit skeptical but they were both delicious. After our class, we hung in the restaurant to grab a polenta pizza which was only four pizza but VERY filling and tasty with another cider. The bartender even brought us over another sample of a cider of our choosing! As a gluten free person, I certainly expect to come back here again, and am very excited that now I feel confident enough to make my own cheese! It's a fun night out to take a class with a friend or loves one!

Yelp
Ever since my husband had a work Christmas party at Threadbare years ago, I've been dying to try it out. Well, I finally got to check it off my list in March! We were very fortunate that the weather was beautiful and enjoyed sitting outside on a (partly) sunny day. Though we weren't very hungry, we followed the PA COVID rules (which were new to me as I have moved down south to GA) and ordered some apps with our drinks. We selected the spinach and artichoke dip and the pickled platter. Though spinach and artichoke dip never disappoints, the pickled platter was really fun and unique. I'd definitely order it again! Since we didn't have a lot of time to spend at Threadbare with a full day ahead, I made sure to order a flight to try as many things as I could. I went with the build your own option and selected... (if I remember correctly...) the Farmhouse, Bouquet de Rose, Sweet Guava, and Perry the Pear. I enjoyed all four but to be honest, none of them were a standout winner for me. If anything, one of the ciders on my friend's flight -- the Hey Sweetie, maybe? -- stood out as being extremely unique and something I'd get next time. I took the opportunity to peruse the entire Cider House when I headed up the stairs to use the restroom. It's a much larger space than I had judged from the exterior and would definitely be a really fun place to hang out for several hours. I hope to return in the future!

Yelp
threadbare is one of my favorite indoor/outdoor places to meet up with friends. I get a hot personal size pizza pepperoni or a season version and a class of hard cider. I enjoy the casual atmosphere especially in the summer on their outdoor patio. Everything I have gotten I have enjoyed. It's the place I recommend when friends ask for places to meet whether happy hour or a Sunday brunch. Stop by to support a local business if you have not been and see if you agree.

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but somehow we made a reservation for brunch on Easter at 11:00 through Open Table. It was confirmed via email and text the day or two before our reservation. And yet, when we arrived on time, the parking lot was empty and the doors locked. They were clearly closed??? We had to pivot and find another place to eat with our family. I sent an email message and no response. Not sure who's running this place, but they need to get it together.

Yelp
I've been twice in two months and even with a 5 person group both times, I had a good experience. Food: pizza both times. Custom one the first time, seasonal jack o lantern one the second. Some of the pizzas are $13, but note that adding even one item to the pizza will make it a custom pizza, which is $15. I knew about this policy but a person in our party didn't know it wasn't a pay-to-add-one-topping kind of place. Granted, 13 to 15 isn't a big jump, and I think it's a decent price range for a personal pizza (with leftovers for lunch the next day). Drinks: Cider flights both times. If you're unsure, ask for a taster! Love that they come with descriptors of the ciders instead of just the names. Special events: rsvp before you go. I rsvp'ed my group for the sweet cider release tasting and, after getting checked off a list, we all got a taster of their limited release cider before dinner. What a way to start the night!

Yelp
Their gluten free pizza is awesome! It's hard to find a good GF pizza, especially one that doesn't taste like cardboard, and this one is legit. They used to just have a polenta pizza, but it just wasn't the same as enjoying that delicious doughy pie! Love love love Threadbare in general and go for their Dry Cider is my favorite, because I don't like super sweet cider, but I also enjoy their Farmhouse Cider, which is a medium tasting cider that is a crowd pleaser. They are super kid friendly and when things are running normally they have a killer tour and also includes the kids (NA of course!). Try a flight of cider if you want to dip your toe into a handful of different kinds. They have some really interesting types of cider out, so it's worth a shot to find your fave!

Yelp
Really glad we had a chance to stop here and try out some of their ciders. The building itself is beautiful despite it's location. And I can't say enough nice things about how pleasant the staff was during our visit. I'm not big on dry ciders, but really enjoyed the sampler I had. Also decided to order a brownie as a dessert and wasn't the biggest fan (too dense). Definitely worth a trip though!

Yelp
A wide selection of hard ciders and meads made in-house. Also amazing pizzas!! Highly recommended stop anytime of year. Cider is no longer just a fall beverage!

Yelp
Threadbare Cider House is the latest project taken on by the Wigle Whiskey crew, and I love it! Wigle was already the reason I fell in love with whiskey. When they expanded into the world of cider and mead I was ecstatic - it was a dream come true for this long time cider lover. I love walking into Threadbare. It's so warm and welcoming, with communal wooden tables, brick walls, and strategically placed barrels and crates - many displaying season plants and cider bottles - that add naturally into the feel and decor of the place. It's a great space for a sip of cider. After checking out the bar, guests can sit at the tables and look down into part of the brewery itself during their visit. Threadbare offers tours of the downstairs brewery as well, so if you like to see where your drinks are coming from, you'll want to look into that! The sweet cherry on top of Threadbare, however, is that their kitchen offers both thin-crust and polenta crust pizza! Plus their menu always features exciting changes to match the season and the freshest ingredients available to the team. There was only one time the flavor of a pizza didn't do it for me, and that was way back when Threadbare opened. Hey, everyone has a learning curve, especially considering that these pizzas aren't the standard monster you order or have delivered to your door. So yeah - I love this place. How can I not? Cider lovers and Wigle fans alike should definitely visit Threadbare sometime. Sit down, have some pizza, and take the time to try their many cider flavors - I bet you'll fall in love with one!

Yelp
Good food and a good selection of ciders. Our group sampled quote a few ciders, but the clear winner on the evening was Oaked & Wild. There where some sweeter ciders, a few dry, and a couple effervescent. The server was attentive, and he even brought over a small sample of the Rose cider for us to try. We enjoyed the very tasty food notably the stinging nettled This is an especially fun place to take a group.

Yelp
This was my first visit, and I was very impressed with the Covid-19 practices in place! I emailed to make a reservation for four people and I received a confirmation back quickly. The tables outside were few and properly distanced apart. The staff were masked. And all tableware was single use. Even the pizzas were served in boxes vs on plates. I wasn't aware you couldn't be served bottles of cider at the table, draft only. I enjoyed my 9 oz cup of Perry the Pear. And I also enjoyed the salmon and egg pizza from the brunch menu. And I would not call myself a pizza fan so that is saying something. I prefer thin crust style like theirs. It was cooked perfectly. The crust was my favorite part. They have been offering lately a drive thru special, a pizza and bottle of cider deal so I plan to try that sometime soon.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my time at Threadbare. I went for a true crime trivia night and it was so much fun. It was organized well and they had a few good options for food. I tried some cider too, which I am not a drinker, and it was delicious. The only negative I had was paying for my meal. There were 4 of us at the table and the cards must gotten mixed up when the bills were taken back to be paid. When I got the slip to sign I realized my card was used for someone else's bill. I brought it to the servers attention, but was told it would be too complicated to fix at this point so was given a few free drink tickets in lieu of the mistake being fixed on my card. It was late and i was tired, so I just took this instead of disputing it further since it was a small amount financially.

Yelp
We are regular with takeout and now back inside. It feels safe, and social distancing is practiced. Flights are back. Current favorites include the pickled platter appetizer and the ratatouille pizza. Tried the mead tonight and it's amazing.

Yelp
My company had their holiday party here. We had a private room in the back with tables and chairs set up. It was almost too small for all of us and there was not enough seating but everyone was mingling so this was not a huge issue. The cidery has four pitchers for us to try - a sweet cherry cider, a regular sweet cider, regular dry cider, and a light beer option. I preferred mixing the cherry and dry to cut the sweetness but have some flavor. Otherwise, I ordered the Old Fashioned off of their cocktail menu and it was delicious. There was a cheese and fruit tray and a spinach dip with bread as appetizer options. But the most memorable part of this trip? The roasted apple pizza (actually the pizzas in general)! It was to die for! It was topped with rosemary, cheese, pork, and red onion. We also had the sweet potato, pepperoni, greens, and cheese pizza. The crust was so soft and all of the toppings were so fresh. The cidery allowed us to bring in our own dessert which was nice. They provided us with a tour of the facility where the cider is made. Our waitress was quickly taking drink orders and replenishing good and ciders all evening. They even allowed us to try and connect to their tv to watch the nfl playoffs. I know I will be back, even if it is just for roasted apple pizza!

Yelp
Pizza was good, breadsticks were good, and the cider was good! Skip the deserts, though.
