I recently had an amazing experience at Three Brothers Bakery, on Washington Ave in the Heights, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how spacious, bright, and clean the bakery was. It creates such a welcoming atmosphere! What truly stood out was the exceptional customer service, particularly from Jay. Their knowledge about the menu and pastries was impressive, and they were more than happy to answer all my questions. Jay made my visit not just pleasant but also informative! If you're looking for delicious baked goods in a wonderful setting, Three Brothers Bakery is the place to go. I can't wait to return!

Google
My wife and I just love this bakery. I grew up with my dad, loving this bakery. It’s probably the reason I love chocolate cake as much as I do. We got our wedding cake from here. It was so delicious. We ate the top tier a month later instead of a year later and I still want more of that wedding cake. It’s been almost 10 years and I still talk about how delicious it was. Showed up to get a pastry and walked out with a dozen cookies. Whoopsiedaisy!

Google
I recently stopped by Three Brothers Bakery , and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how amazing the experience was. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so welcome—everyone was so warm and friendly, and it really set the tone for my visit. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers, and it makes such a difference. Now, let’s talk about the treats. Everything looked incredible, but I couldn’t resist trying their cinnamon rolls. They were absolutely perfect—soft, sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I also picked up a few other pastries, and they were just as amazing. You can taste the quality in every bite. It’s not just the food that makes this place stand out, though. The team is just so kind and eager to help. They were happy to make recommendations and share their favorites, which made the whole experience feel so personal. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by. Trust me, you’ll be back for more!

Google
Spacious, good lighting and amazing service. I was able to easily order my cake and they had so many options! I usually come here for cookies and hadn’t tried the cake. They let me try some and it was great. I can’t wait for my custom order ❤️

Google
First time visitor today. I wished I'd gotten the gentleman's name that was so courteous and attentive to my purchase, my huge mistake for not having better expectations. He recommended I try a sample of the almond bar, that won me over to buy more but his customer service really made me enjoy the entire experience, which spoke volumes. For me, in the world we live in, where customer service isn't really a thing, that gentleman's service was truely priceless. At home, I've sampled a few of my buys, so far the price vs the treats makes it worth it for me to come back when I'm back in the area (I'm often not). I hope they come out to the Clear Lake or Pearland side of town for me to buy more often.

Google
I had a great experience here! I accidentally placed my cake order for the day after my party, but when I called the store the day before I actually needed it, they were able to fix my mistake and have the cake ready on time. Every time I called, the staff were incredibly friendly and never made me feel bad about the mix-up. I really appreciated their kindness and helpfulness! Shout out to Alix who answered my calls and even offered the help carry the cake to my car. Got the German chocolate cake and it was delicious and a big hit at the party!

Google
This is my fave bakery in Houston. The coconut macaroons are the Bomb.com. Everything is just so good. From cupcakes to cookies to pies to coffee. You will love anything you try. They offer specialty desserts and custom cakes as well. When I know I am in this area I make sure I wear my stretchy pants and bring extra whatever I get home.

Yelp
I felt like a kid in the candy shop when I walked into this bakery. Very friendly atmosphere, I was offered coffee while I made my selections. There were so many different items to pick from. From croissants to seven layer cakes, treats for your fur babies and everything in between. I don't usually care for sweets, but it's almost impossible not to walk out of there with multiple items. We had the beef jalapeño kolache, cherry danish, and a white chocolate strawberry cake ball. The kolache was one of the best I've had in Houston, it was just perfect. The danish was not too sweet, but very tasty, and the bread had a hint of cinnamon. Then the cake ball...it was so moist, extremely sweet but delicious. I also bought one of their dog treats and a couple of lattes. Everything was great, no complaints. If you love baked goods, this is your spot.

Yelp
Disappointed. I remember when it opened and the great reviews it use to be. I use to love theirsl ginger bread cookies. I would pay $5-7 for it! Last time I went I got it and A few other cookies. Good thing I didn't get more cause it taste burnt or stale. There was even a valentines cookies. I asked if there were on sale since it's been a couples of days post holiday. They said no! I was like uh... wondering how long they keep their other cookies if it's not fresh. Bummed. Other than that it looks clean and same. Quiet and no one there.

Yelp
This dessert shop was a serious let down as I was recommended to come here because I'd heard it was really good. The only good thing about the place was the service. However, my cookie was super hard and had no relevant to title flavor. The hardness felt that of a cookie that had been sitting in the glass all day long. I had high hopes for the brownie, but upon taking a bite, I noticed it was extremely wet. I looked inside the wrapper and it was dripping. It also tasted like the fridge. My partner got a mini cake herself as well and said that hers was wet and also tasted like fridge, so we concluded that they must have been frozen and thawed. I would not come back to this bakery.

Yelp
Friendly staff that greeted us right when we entered. Tried the Chocolate Chip Nutella Hamantaschen, which was solid. It was on the dry side, but the Nutella was tasty. It was fun to try this unique pastry. I didn't get any other desserts because the choices didn't catch my interest.

Yelp
A big open space, I don't know that there was anywhere to sit. My husband grew up going to this bakery, and he would drive across town anytime to go. We had the eclairs, and they were great. My husband got a chocolate cupcake and he loved it. I got Italian cream, I had wanted carrot cake, but they didn't have them that day. It hurt a little extra because we were "going for MY birthday". The cupcake that I ended up with was a tad on the dry side, but they have such great variety, I would definitely go back.

Yelp
I'm on a quest to find the best Pecan Pie in America. After hearing about this family business in TX I had to try for myself. From the second I opened up this packaging the smells filled up my kitchen. I'm hoping my photos do justice on how moist this pie is! Everyone has a favorite part of a pie and mine is the filling, just delivers all around. The pecans were so fresh and the pie crust is in a league of its own! This crust was so flakey & buttery after removing from the pan I even scooped up the bottom for a finger bite! Give this is a shot whether you're in TX or where I'm based CA. for a mail order treat.

Yelp
I love a good bakery and this one was too good!!! So many delicious things to choose from, ugh I wanted at least like 4 other pastries from here. The service was nice and friendly. Prices were reasonable. I will say that my kolache was kinda cold but I heated it up at home and it tasted good.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything is so fresh and yummy. Service is great also, as well as variety. Just have to have self-control so I don't buy everything. Ha

Yelp
Stopped by for a treat post workout last night and I was SO excited. We asked if they had any vegan options (my man is severely allergic to dairy) and they recommended items with buttercream and mascarpone cheese... We tried to clarify if those were made vegan (it is annoying but possible!!) and were met with absolute confusion. My guy decided to play it safe and not order anything which was a bit of a bummer. I treated myself to a slice of their strawberry and cream cheese king cake (clearly a dairy loving gal here) and it was delicious. It's more cake-y than airy for those who are specific with their king cake tastes! I liked it. Note: this location does not serve bread but the others do!

Yelp
Get the Snickers cookie... it's not the prettiest cookie on display but it is good. I'm not even normally one to eat cookies, I stopped here to grab some bakery souvenirs to bring on the plane with me. The cookies survived the plane ride and then the freezer for a few days until I delivered them. If you're looking for a gem to bring back from your trip to Houston, I'd recommend this place

Yelp
After leaving Burger Bodega still hungry, I went to the bakery across the street to get some sweets This restaurant has been a staple in the community for decades! After a short wait, I was greeted and we got 3 cupcakes. 30 minutes later I was home and I went to get ready for a bite and I noticed the cupcake was cold. So I placed it in the microwave for a few seconds so warm it up and that cupcake was delicious!! Omg! I was kinda skeptical at first with it being cold but I loved it after warming it up!

Yelp
Am I the only who's going to say that 3 Brothers that I once new as a child is totally different. The crumb of the cake and frosting has drastically changed. At least 30 of my birthday cakes have been from 3 Brothers since the age of 12. Since the flood, the quality of the cakes have gone down down down. I just went in for a slice, and was highly disappointe.
google avatar

Shellie R.

Yelp
Give gifts of treats quite often from Three Brothers...favorite are all cookies and pies!!!
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
A friend got me these for my birthday and they were so good! The frosting can be a little overwhelming and sweet, but there is quite a bit of cake underneath that helps balance it out. My favorite was the vanilla, which is the one with the flower frosting
google avatar

Kayla W.

Yelp
The cupcakes were delicious!! My only complaint would be that I called to make an order at 8am. I was told that I would be able to pick them up later the day. My ordered was vanilla cupcakes with red gold, and frosting for the cupcakes. When I arrive around 10am I was informed that custom orders take 2-3 days. I wish I was told that I wasn't gonna be to be able receive the custom order but the cupcakes they had on head were great. Cupcake flavors: Strawberry Lemon Italian crème Red velvet Vanilla confetti Vanilla plane Carrot cake Caramel cheesecake Sooo delicious!

Yelp
I stopped in at the Washington Ave. location and I was so amazed by the customer service. The two guys that were working were so helpful, friendly, AND patient as I went back and forth with my kids about what they wanted. The cookies I ended up getting were gingerbread, which I hate and have always wondered how people eat those, were actually so good and soft. My Kids were satisfied and so was I!

Yelp
The poppy seed Danish and pecan thumbprint cookies tasted like what we can get at the grocery store. Definitely not a bakery that uses butter. They had a lot of pies and cupcakes in the displays but nothing looked special...though their cake/icing decorator is talented. Houston has so many excellent bakeries with flavorful baked goods, but I think this place relies on heaps of sugar as its selling point.
google avatar

Yelp
First let me start off by saying I'm a fan of Three Brothers Bakery but here's the problem with their cupcakes. If you purchase their cupcakes etc from the case, in most situations the cupcakes are dry 9 out of 10 times unless you are fortunate to grab some that were recently made and not refrigerated. If you purchase their products fresh they are freaking fantastic!!! I ordered a chocolate ripple fudge cake and it was amazing. Everyone loved it. I had to give specific instructions to not refrigerate under no circumstances and the cake was moist and melted right in your mouth as it should. I understand to a point the refrigeration process to keep the product fresh and to last longer but it dries out the cakes. This is the only reason for the three stars. My suggestion if you want to avoid disappointment is to order freshly made cakes and skip the case whenever possible.

Jayy G.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend had a sweet tooth BAD. so we decided to stop at a real bakery. We got a chocolate chip cookie and two cupcakes. Ambiance was cool, smelled very good inside but unfortunately the bakery did not live up to the hype. Cupcakes were really dry and not moist at all. Like the cheesecake literally tasted like paper once we bit into it. Cookie was good, would've been better warmed. The icing on the red velvet was tasty. However, I like my cupcakes to melt in my mouth. I was looking for a life changing bite and I didn't get that here. :(

Renita W.

Yelp
The lady in the morning was extremely rude when my daughter call to complain about the cake she was very argumentatively, offer no resolution, the decoration was sad as well , we ask for tulips and a spring theme, I couldn't believe the cake, I'll always heard good things about their cakes but I was totally disappointed The icing was cold, hard, and falling apart on one side as you cut the cake, I've had better store cake.
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
Love this bakery! They always have a large, variety of cookies and fresh baked goods to choose from. We usually stop here on our way home from eating out to pick up a variety box of sweets to munch on over the week. At Christmas time we always get a couple of their homemade pecan pies. They are so delicious.

kari s.

Yelp
I bought 2 gingerbread men and two m&m chocolate chip cookies. Got home and the gingerbread were hard/over baked. The other cookies were good and baked just right. Hit or miss unfortunately and the gingerbread men are up to $4/each.
google avatar

Jernay F.

Yelp
I really didn't care for the customer service if I'm paying for something I should be about to have an opinion but the cupcake was good!
google avatar

Kelayne P.

Yelp
I was excited to order from here because of the classic dessert treats that I've grown up loving. I ordered, Coconut cupcake- it was pretty dry Carrot cupcake- delishious w that cream cheese frosting Gingerbread cookie - was moist and chewy but it d I didn't have much ginger or spice flavor. I think they can do better, and just refresh their techniques and ingredients to these classics.

Kristina C.

Yelp
This place is great! The store is huge with lots of seating. They also had a coffee serving area and had several cookies, pies, and cupcakes. The service was great and the the bakery smelt amazing. I got a red velvet cupcake and several cookies and all but one were great. Don't recommend the "Mexican wedding cake" cookie. Very clean and inviting atmosphere.
google avatar

Jon A.

Yelp
I feel this place is hit or miss. We've had good things here and not so good things. Today we ordered a red velvet cake ball and a carrot cake cupcake. The cupcake was very dry unfortunately, but the cake ball was good! Service is always friendly and they do have a wide variety of things to chose from, you just don't always know if the quality is going to be that great.
google avatar

Dewayne S.

Yelp
I had a sweet tooth after dinner and decided to stop by. There are so many different choices to pick from. I decided to get the pecan pie cheesecake and it was DELICIOUS. The customer service was great and the associates helped me make a decision. I will definitely be back.

Shayla K.

Yelp
First and foremost I've this place I think three brothers bakery has the best Key Lime Pie in HTX. Today I went in for cookies, we waited all week for the $1 cookie special. Went in and had 2 people ahead of me, there was a clear line formed with about 2 of us, my turn next and I'm completely skipped over. Ok... Waited again, skipped over again. Not sure how this happened. The cashier told me the girls name is Morgan. Not sure why I was treated this way but I gave 2 stars, somehow the cookies are not as satisfying when your service was crappy. We live in the neighborhood and visit at least twice a week for desserts and breads. Not sure if feel comfortable visiting that location again.
google avatar

Rodrick B.

Yelp
I walked into this location today and the smell alone rushed memories back into my mind. As a youngster the location at Alabama and Shepherd was my Ma's favorite place. We would go and share treats often. The location is different but the smells, amazing desserts, and coffee are beyond! The service is great , the place is spotless and those Eclairs! Holy moly! I picked up a few cupcakes to take away as well. I moved to central Texas and thought this place had been lost to gentrification and history, but there it was! I bought some items and drove way out of my way to the Woodlands to deliver and split an eclair with my Ma just like the old days! Stay Houston!
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
I returned for their delectable rum balls, and I was delighted by their ladyfingers! I'll definitely have to get more of each next time! The employees were extremely courteous and friendly, and I can see how this would be people's favorite bakery!

Frances B.

Yelp
The customer service is terrible because when I went to pick up a birthday cake they asked what image do you want? I said I want a flower birthday cake so my party was on Sunday and they said oops sorry we couldn't make it and then I said, well, that's the image I chose. Why can't you make it, and he said well we can't make it that day
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
I can only vouch for the king cake. And the niceness of the people working here. I called as soon as they opened this morning to confirm they would have king cakes ready to pick up, bc I'm from LA and waited too long to order a final one for the season. I was told they had fresh cakes and fresh slices. When I got in, I was asking the guy about the pecan praline flavor (my go to back home is cream cheese pecan). He suggested I try a slice before buying a whole one. I'm glad I did. While it is very good, and I imagine even better hot (with coffee), it just wasn't for me. I missed the moist, creamy factor you get with a cream cheese filled. So that's what I committed to. For those from LA, these are actually comparable to a Nola king cake. The whole cake I bought was, thankfully, a little less drenched in icing and sand-sugar than the slice. The texture was perfect. It wasn't dry. All-in-all, I'm pretty satisfied and I would get a king cake from here again if from home wasn't an option. And because everyone was so friendly, I'd likely use them for other baked good needs. Previously always heard good things. Happy to have a solid experience of my own now.

Yelp
I was there the other night and man is the night crew much better than morning. I talked to this dude named Miguel and he was super cool and friendly! The other guy there was pretty nice and the girl I recognized from mornings. She's also a nice one in mornings, but if it's this other lady morning is not the time. Morning has this older lady with redish hair that's always rude. I've made small talk but she doesn't seem internet. I also noticed if I take a while to order she gets snippy and rolls her eyes at questions. It's hard to make a decision on that store because everything is so good and I want to try it all! Overall night time has a much better ambiance and The sweets are always delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent corn rye bred. Have been going there for 45 years. Service is very good and the store is always clean
google avatar

Joyce J.

Yelp
This review is only for their alleged award winning (according to the staff member) Key Lime Pie. The graham cracker crust is too thick and tightly packed. When you have to press your fork so hard that it clinks against the plate when you finally get through, the crust is too tough. The key lime flavour is completely underwhelming; totally lacking in the desired (and expected) tartness. And what can I say about the whipped cream other than "blech"; it is thicker in depth than the key lime, has a consistency that is beyond stiff, and tastes very commercial. I have had other fabulous desserts from Three Brothers, but it is a hard pass on their Key Lime Pie.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
Very Disappointed by product and management. Ordered a dozen cupcakes for a birthday with a Mickey Mouse design (without infringing on copyright). When order was picked up it wasn't to what was discussed with fallen over cupcakes. There was no time to redo so employee did the best he could to fix the fallen one. Cupcakes were extremely dry and bland (very little hint of strawberry). Went in to store and no manager on site. Employee I talked too agreed the cupcakes appeared to be rushed (as if someone dropped the ball to get them done) and wasn't to their standard and wasn't packaged properly. Said a manager would call the following day and NO manager has reached out going on 2 days now. For the price I paid I was expecting better.
google avatar

Shourjo D.

Yelp
Across two visits here, this appears to be a more mediocre version of the wonderful experiences I've had at the location in the Memorial City area. Customer service on the more recent visit was weird, as I was told they don't carry any breads anymore ... but it's a bakery and the other location not only has them but they are quite good there??? Beyond just that, the individual seemed kinda checked out, whereas my many visits to the other location have always been pretty warm and positive. The thing is, there's always a lot to choose from in either case, and just basic questions like "what's popular here?" or "what do you recommend?" are ideally answered w/ something better than shrugs or IDKs.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
Recently had their cakes catered to my office for a holiday party and was greatly disappointed. We are very familiar with their poppyseed bread, which is delicious, and had high expectations for their cakes. Our office had the carrot cake and red velvet. Both had a very unusual texture, and crumbled awkwardly when cut into. Cake to icing ratio was another tell-tale sign something would be off - layers were unequal and heavy with icing. Despite odd texture and appearance, we gave these cakes a try. Sadly, the cake itself was extremely dry and the frosting super sweet. There wasn't much flavor profile to either cake, making the red velvet and carrot cake almost indistinguishable from one another. Most guests threw their slices away, the trash can had several plates of half eaten slices. The sad display of crumbled dry cakes stayed in the breakroom for the remainder of the day since no one had the heart to throw away so much uneaten cake. One employee, who has past experience as a baker, weighed in to the possible problem stating the cake it most likely frozen and very old. This seems true since several reviews mention dry cakes. Still keeping them at 2 stars since the poppyseed bread is good, but would steer clear from ordering much else.

Becky M.

Yelp
Cherry pie is the best in town in my opinion, thick lattice work with the chunky sugar on top, beautiful and delicious!
google avatar

Tyrrell V.

Yelp
It was a bit difficult to get the order placed and had to call literally 4 days in a row begging them to take my credit card info because they were swamped and it was December BUT beautiful in the end and of course tastes great as always!

Yelp
My mom went to Three Brothers on December 12th to pre-order a cake, cheesecake and a tray of decorated Christmas cookies. She was very specific about what she wanted with the cookies. She also asked for a tray of danishes but was told that they aren't available at the Washington location any more and she'd have to go to the Memorial location. When she arrived today to pick up her order, the guy at the counter handed her a cookie decorating tray. She informed him that that was not what she ordered and wanted a tray of pre-decorated cookies. He said, "That's not what you ordered" very rudely. He wasn't even the person who took her order initially so how would he know?? She even asked him if he needed to look at her receipt and he said he didn't need to look at it. She then saw they had danishes available in the glass case. She asked why she was told they weren't available when she tried to order the other day. The guy rudely responded that they only have them for special occasions?? So if that's true then why wasn't she allowed to pre-order for a special occasion like Christmas?? Frankly, the customer service at Three Brothers has been declining and we used to use Three Brothers for our birthday cakes, holidays and special occasions but we now plan on taking our business elsewhere. Preferably where the employees are nicer and they actually listen to their customers.

Yelp
I stopped at this place on a whim to pick up a fun dessert. The employee who helped me was very kind and helpful. And my Italian Cream Cake was AMAZING! I'm really glad I stopped in and will definitely be returning. Next time I have a speciality dessert order, I'll bring it here. I highly recommend!

Amanda L.

Yelp
Wonderful service and an AMAZING cake! I ordered my gender reveal cake here and the staff took such care creating an unforgettable moment for us. We will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Great baked goods! There aren't many around Galveston county so when the chance of going to Houston we try to get there and stock up
google avatar

Yelp
The carrot cake was so dry and it lacked so much. It just crumbled too. I have never had a cake like that before. Someone put too much flour in their batter and messed this cake up. It was really bad. And I'm so sorry to say it but you really need to experiment with different recipes. That one just lacked everything you hope for in a carrot cake. I make a really good one if you want my recipe. The icing was good. Maybe a tad too sweet but it was really good. I hate leaving such a bad review but I have to be real. That cake was awful.

Yelp
Made an order for a pecan pie, it was shipped on July 30th and arrived July 31st before noon! (I live in Colorado) I was impressed by how fast they delivered it, since I didn't experience this efficiency from many other places. The pecan pie smelled amazing before I even opened it up from the package. It was soft, crumbly, and delicious. Would highly recommend it for a party of 5-8. Pecan pie: 8.5/10

Yelp
Large delicious chocolate chip cookies!!! I crave these cookies quite often and they never disappoint!

Mark F.

Yelp
great bakery; cookies on sale today; be sure to try chocolate chocolate chip. They are mind blowing

Yelp
Came in with a super messed up cake from a different bakery and was begging for them to help me fix/ redo the words because they looked SOOO BAD. They helped me within 10 minutes and were so kind

Yelp
I've never had anything less than fantastic there. My mother-in-laws favorite is cherry pie & she doesn't usually like cherry pie. Sadly, they've even outdone my mom's chocolate fudge pecan pie. Poor mom tries so hard, but theirs is even better than hers. Cream cheese brownie is just the right mixture of chocolate with smooth creamy cream cheese icing. My all time favorite is the almond bar but there are plenty of other things I love to eat too. One idea I've had lately is it might be delicious to have a date filled hamantoshin (sp?). I was telling someone about the history of Purim related to Persia & the native fruits in that region which developed into the date filling concept. Enjoy everything! It's worth the calories.
