I’ve been to Andy’s several times over the last couple of years, including Thanksgiving dinner for a family of 15, and I’ve always been impressed. The service is top-notch, even for a large group, and the food is delicious. When we were looking for a place to have our mom’s 90th birthday party, Andy’s came to mind.
I contacted Joe Trotta, who was absolutely professional from start to finish. We gave him our budget, and he provided a great buffet menu, along with an assortment of wines and bottled beer. We made a few changes and additions to the menu during the planning process, and he was happy to accommodate while keeping as close to our budget as possible.
Some of the items he suggested for the buffet aren’t on the regular menu. We had shrimp and andouille cream pasta, filet tips with onions and brown gravy over rice, and fried eggplant with parmesan and marinara. We also had gumbo, an assortment of their flatbreads, and Caesar salad.
The party was on a Saturday afternoon, and Joe opened the restaurant so we could have the whole downstairs dining room. We planned on 65 people, and happily ended up with about 75. The room was set up perfectly – the buffet was easy to get to but not in the way, there was plenty of seating, room to walk around and socialize, and a table for the cake.
Chris and the kitchen / waitstaff were amazing. When the room started to look a little crowded, they quickly opened and set the two back dining rooms. They kept a close watch on the buffet to make sure we didn’t run low on anything. The bar did a great job of making sure no one’s glass was ever empty, and all of our guests raved about the food and had a great time.
I highly recommend Andy’s Bistro for a casual dinner for two, a large family dinner, or a very important event. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is consistently fantastic, and the service is the best around. Thanks to Joe, Chris and all the staff at Andy’s, we have one very happy 90-year-old mama!
