Three Darlings - Review - London - The Infatuation

"There isn't an empty building in London that's safe from Jason Atherton. Some people collect stamps, this chef collects restaurants. We've written about the openings of Mary's, Sael, and Hot Dogs By Three Darlings over the previous months. Now it’s the turn of this all-day bistro in Chelsea. Expect oysters, flatbreads, and a three-course express lunch for £34 including croissant milk soft serve with beef fat caramel. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Superb steak spot. I had the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, beautifully tender and almost butter-soft. The Provençal fries were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and the light sprinkle of cheese was a nice finishing touch. My negroni was excellent, as was the service. On the expensive side (£73 for steak, salad, fries and a cocktail), but overall a very enjoyable experience.

Three Darlings offers a very pleasant experience overall, with friendly, forthcoming staff and a sense of calm that comes from a well-managed restaurant. The open kitchen adds a nice touch and gives the place a bit of extra character. We went for brunch - solid rather than standout - but the roast and lunch/dinner dishes looked especially strong and worth returning for. It can get a little loud at times, though still comfortable enough to enjoy a relaxed meal. Quietly rated: worth stopping.

Three Darlings has a lovely interior and a warm, stylish atmosphere, so I had high hopes. However, the food experience didn’t quite match. The focaccia was quite dry, and I was surprised to find the pancake served completely plain — no berries or fruit unless ordered separately. I admit I didn’t read the menu closely, but it’s unusual these days to see a pancake served without any fruit or topping, so it was a bit unexpected and looked rather unappealing on its own. When we did ask for berries, they were added, though the interaction felt slightly rushed.

A cosy warm atmosphere, dinner for 2, great people a lovely ambience and located in a beautiful side road away from the busy streets. Impeccable story telling and service from Ryan alongside the team. Love the thriving family business and we all should support and they deserve plenty of praise for the vision and team in place, the food is great and affordable. Loving the dog pictures also! A wholesome feature that attracts a close-knit community. Highly recommended! Hassan

I was dining solo so the hostess sat me at the bar (which was fine!) but then I was promptly/rudely asked to move by the guests next to me as they were apparently a party of 4 waiting for one to arrive. Happily moved but was a little unsettling. The bar staff were lovely and drinks were amazing, but the food experience was not great. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon which was supposed to come with sourdough toast but no toast came so it looked really unappetising (see pic). I had to ask the bar staff for toast 5 minutes later. It’s a lovely looking venue but really loud, and no phone signal. Maybe it was just an off day (dinner photos look nice) but overall, for an upmarket venue my experience wasn’t great and probably wouldn’t return.

Three Darlings, a neighbourhood bistro on Chelsea's Pavilion Road is a celebration of @_jasonatherton and @irhaatherton three daughters. It is an all day operation serving everything from breakfast to late night cocktails. Casual yet elegant ambience. The design carves the restaurant into distinctive areas. The menu is divided into breads, starters and mains over a separate menu for dessert. The food was good but the desserts didn't live up to the expectations. The Caviar Soft serve was basically an ice cream with caviar! Not every culinary idea works.

Brought these pastries home. Omg they are so good… soft and moist inside 😍 And they look and smell so good. Haven’t really have nice pastries like these for a long time. Both presentations and taste is superb. I’m surprised not many ppl realise there is such a gem in the city ?!?! I’ll definitely visit next time!!!

Really cute spot, but the timing wasn’t great—we arrived at 10:45 on a Sunday and didn’t realise the kitchen shuts at 11 for 30 minutes (they switch from the breakfast to the brunch menu). Feels like a bit of an odd time to stop service, especially on a weekend. The later menu just has a few more things, but a lot is the same. They were clearly understaffed—staff were lovely and doing their best, but there just weren’t enough of them. We had to chase for pretty much everything (getting menus, ordering, paying). On the plus side, the courtyard is such a nice place to sit on a warm day, and the food was genuinely tasty. I had the French toast and really liked it—soft and delicious. I’d definitely go back, but I hope they get a bit more help on busy mornings!
