A downtown fixture since 1917, this candy kitchen still hand-dips chocolates, whips up milkshakes, and serves simple lunches beneath a vintage soda-fountain sign. Local historians and Mobile Bay Magazine have chronicled its Greek-immigrant roots and century-long run. Stop in between gallery hopping and cocktails for pralines or a classic sundae made the old way.

Google
I recently had some of their ice cream (frigging outstanding), I've had some of their sweets (awesome), and I ate lunch years ago. I do remember the lunch being very good. I think I had a chicken salad sandwich and I remember basically licking my plate clean. So everything I've tried at 3 Georges has been outstanding. The people working are a blast to talk to and ready to assist in any way. I can not wait to go back!!

Google
What a lovely old-fashioned charm!! They have the best candy, pralines, fudge, taffy, and chocolate-covered everything delicious! So good.. classic Southern sweets, pecan logs, peanut brittle, and saltwater taffy🤤🤤 I loved the old styles and cute interiors too!

Google
Three George’s is my favorite place to go for candies. As a local I have been coming for years and it never disappoints. Some times I’ll call ahead and get them to dip gummies bears in milk chocolate because that is the best! Now that I have a child I bring her to enjoy too. I love the old look and the vibe of Three George’s. The staff is amazing and it’s always clean!

Google
Really adorable spot with old timey charm! Creamy ice cream at a decent price, but there are not many flavors to choose from. Very slow and inefficient service, but that is to be expected with only one person working!

Kelly Brunson

Google
Chocolates and praline were DELIGHTFUL! The staff were so friendly and did not make us feel rushed when we were struggling to decide what to get. I recommend stopping here if you are in the area.

Google
I walked into there after dinner and the lady that was working there had amazing energy! She was so polite and sweet I couldn’t leave with buying something!!!! I was so full otherwise I would have gotten a milkshake! The chocolate covered Oreos wear so fresh and yummy!!!!!! She also spoke positively about her boss and I love that! I’m from out of town but if I come back I will be a repeat visitor! I wish I remembered her name! But I visited 5/12/25

Google
Mobiles finest, the best place to have a good meal and your favorite handmade Malt, float or milkshake. You must try this place you won’t be disappointed.

Google
I absolutely love this place! It reminds me of an old 40s era candy store. I got a banana split and it was delicious. If youre ever in the area it's 100% worth it to stop by.

Yelp
Love love love this wonderful shop! Today we had the terrific opportunity to get some delicious ice cream, and some candy to take back to our camper. We had an amazing discussion with the lady running the shop while we nibbled our ice Cream. We also met quickly the owner Scott, a lovely man. The shop was started LONG LONG ago by 3 Georges, seriously. Scott and family has kept to the original recipes AND the old fashion Soda Fountain! The ice was yummy, the chocolate melted in our mouth. Made with the freshest ingredients clearly. This stop today was one of the highlights in our week long trip to Mobile. I sure do regret not finding the shop sooner ;)

Yelp
First time visiting this charming southern chocolates store. The gentleman working was so pleasant when we arrived, southern hospitality is so true y'all! If you have the chance to visit, I definitely recommend you do!

Yelp
Delicious chocolates and wonderful Mobile hospitality. This cute little candy shop does not disappoint. We ordered some items for Mother's Day and unfortunately there were challenges with the delivery. Three George's immediately made it right with a full refund and offer to replace the chocolates. Wilma was a huge help and quickly communicated with southern hospitality. 5 Stars for this fun, delicious candy shop!

Yelp
Very sweet and welcoming service, and the chocolates were great. My favorite was definitely the white chocolate peanut butter, delicious. Prices weren't cheap but it tasted good. I would come back and get like a half pound of those white chocolate peanut butter pieces. The pralines were good too.

Yelp
The most amazing manager works here! Her name is Evelyn. We were referred by a waiter across the street at Loda Bier Garten. He forgot to mention they close at 6:00pm (the hours are wrong on here as of 5/3/22). The "open" sign was still on the door at 6:15pm so we tried to get in but the door was locked. Evelyn came to the door and unlocked it, said that they were closed but that we could come in. When we mentioned the peanut butter cups, which were recommended, she said they were out and were about to dip some more. She gave us a sample of their homemade peanut butter and it was amazing. We had gone for ice cream so I got a mint chocolate chip shake. She mixed the ice cream with milk but I had a hard time getting it up with the tiny paper straw. She said she'd mix it again, and again it was hard to get with the straw. She mixed it one more time and we decided it was the tiny straws that was the problem. That's the only negative but Evelyn said she was going to talk to the owner about the straws. They're super cute but just not good for shakes. I'm sad we were just here for the day and I won't get to visit Evelyn again. This is definitely a place I would frequent if I were local.

Yelp
I'm SO good with Three George's y'all! NO LIE. I had a dilemma, I was thinking of a master plan, the heavens parted, and there was Three George's! It literally happened just like that... I caught a glimpse, shot across the street, and landed here (after a brunch date at Montego's directly across the street) because I needed a dessert to take to a BBQ that I was already late for (and I refused to drive an extra 20 minutes out of the way to hit up my usual, being a Publix bakery). Three George's totally bailed me out. I ran in like a bat out of hell, and the staff swooped in for the save. I wanted something great and I wanted to show effort, so I asked for hurried recommendations and grabbed boxes of the chocolate hash (chocolate coated marshmallows w/ pecans... YES!), chocolate covered pretzels, and praline pecans (OMG!). All three were a hit and I left at around a $20 dollar price point -- basically what I would have paid at Publix. Although my visit was a blur, I loved the store's cute set up, the staff is uber fast and friendly, the product is YUMMERS, and I came out smelling like a rose! Thanks for the assist Three George's... I'll definitely be back for more hash!

Yelp
Wonderful chocolate helpful works great visit. Had the White chocolate cashews, White chocolate peanut butter, toffee chocolate. All melt in my mouth. Will forever remember!!

Yelp
The best fruit cake I've ever tasted. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Love the ambiance of the store. Delicious samples are always readily available to taste. Very warm and welcoming.

Yelp
The staff at Three Georges is amazing!!!! I took my daughter here for her 13th birthday. They showed us how they make the turtles and let us see the chocolate room. I am so pleased with how welcoming and kind they were to us on my daughter's special day.

Yelp
Of course this is a loved store of downtown mobile, but my first time venturing in. I was so impressed by the vintage feel. My boyfriend got a banana split that he adored and I got some sour candy. YUM.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Oh, Three Georges, you tease us every time we come to Mobile. We promise each other that we won't get a chocolate milkshake this time ... and then we do. And for that 20 minutes that we're sucking down its chocolatey goodness, we're reminded why this is such a wonderful spot in the heart of Mobile.
google avatar

Brittney P.

Yelp
Adorable retro chocolate/candy/ice cream shop. They also sell lunch items like poboys and muffaletas, but there are others that I can't quite remember. Their chocolate treats are house made and you can see the chocolatiers working in the kitchen. There were beautiful hand made chocolate bunnies and eggs available for purchase which would make great gifts for kids and adults alike for Easter. While I did not go for the main attraction (the chocolate), I stopped in for a milk shake since it was so hot out. Service is friendly, but not the fastest. Still worth the wait, there's so much to marvel at and choices you can make while waiting. Back to the shake - the flavor selection is few but classics that everyone will like. I got the Rocky Road shake and it was prepared in an old fashioned milk shake machine, so cute!

Yelp
Three Georges Candy shop is as cute as a button. It's a real treasure found only in Mobile, AL. This place is great for ALL your sweets needs. They do candy, craft sodas, milkshakes, coffee, and even a few sandwiches. So much fun for kids as they'll even let you watch them make the candy at times.
google avatar

Yelp
I can honestly say this is the best candy I've ever had in my life! True story. We stumbled upon this place during one of our "let's just walk around Mobile" adventures. It's a quaint little candy shop with a few tables and a cozy little bar you can belly up to for an ice cream Sunday or a delicious milkshake! Opposite the bar are glass cases full of varieties of fresh made candy. The pralines, chocolate mint and chocolate truffles are amazing, but honestly, the Grand Marnier chocolate covered pecan is the absolute best candy I've ever put in my mouth. Words can't describe the sweet, creamy, chocolaty goodness! If your wife or Mamma is really mad and you don't know why, give her a box of these and she'll forget why she's mad too! Problem solved. You're welcome. If you're going to be in downtown Mobile, please do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Yelp
The best chocolate shop ever!! Friendly staff great pralines and chocolates. Real soda fountain! Will be back many times!!

Yelp
Like stepping back in time. Home made chocolates and tasty ice cream treats! We loved everything about this spot.

Yelp
Just because the tourists love it doesn't mean it isn't great. I remember being bug-eyed as a kid when my Dad would give me a dollar and choose a treat. It is a little pricier 40 years later but most of the yummies are the same and there are more choices in this little shotgun store. My favorite? Probably the roasted pecans. Anything in chocolate is wonderful. The nuts are always warm and served in little bags so you can snack and walk the lovely area downtown. It is also my go-to place for a treat to have while watching a show at the fabulous Crescent Theatre. Kids love it. Adults love it. You certainly won't break the budget here. P.S. Don't ignore the milkshakes!!

Yelp
While window shopping down Dauphin I decided to stop into this place because I couldn't believe what I was seeing; an old fashioned milk shake/float bar. Unfortunately I had just stuffed myself with oysters so, I wasn't able to partake in one. There are seats at the bar and places to sit inside. They have tons of old fashioned candies, fudge and sweets that will make you feel a bit nostalgic. I decided on a small container of peach circles which I ended up sharing with the people at the bar that I went to but, they were delicious. The feeling in this store is warm and inviting and made more so by the lady in the store Ms. Ann! She stood and spoke to us about football and told us about a friend of hers who gave her a Ohio State Brutus nut cracker for Christmas. We laughed and she bid us farewell and told us to be safe out there in the rain. It's always nice to meet friendly Southern people.

Yelp
Great ambiance but way too pricey! I ordered a milkshake which was mostly milk ($5). My son ordered the chocolate banana ($4) and the server took 1 banana, diced it up and poured hershey syrup on the slices.
google avatar

Nikki A.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in to visit this historic candy shop and what fun it was. Old style cans handmade along with fun collectibles. Lady behind the counter was super nice and very helpful. We took home chocolate covered cashews, dark chocolate toffee, and chocolate orange jellies. All were amazing!
google avatar

Cully W.

Yelp
I have always raved about this candy shop because I am a chocolate fanatic, but I was recently in there and bought some chocolate shells and they had maggots in them. I have no idea how that happened but I called and told the people working. The staff seemed hostile and more bothered by the fact I called rather than the bugs in their chocolate. They did offer to refund my money, but it was not worth it at this point. I am very disappointed considering this was my favorite candy shop in Mobile.
google avatar

Austin F.

Yelp
Great little place in downtown. Sweet staff and very good prices. Definitely try their sandwiches if you get the chance, I asked for the muffaletta while I was there and was very pleased. You can tell all the candy is genuine as well.
google avatar

Yelp
We came about 6 years ago and made fast friends of the folks running Three Georges. They made fantastic pralines. Unfortunately the fine folks no longer run the candy store and the young girls running the store now never seem to have pralines in stock. Although they still say they make them there one of the girls let it slip that there were expecting more in and they run out so fast, doesn't sound to me like they make them on site anymore or order enough to satisfy demand. We will not be wasting our time to drop by again; it is a long way from Fort Worth for no pralines on multiple consecutive trips. Try the nut house across the street for the best quad dipped chocolate covered peanuts in the country. Bienville books up the street is a great used bookstore, it seems like we drop $100 or better every time we visit.

Yelp
This is a great candy store with an old fashion feel. My son picked up some of his favorite candy and I also was able to try something new. The service was excellent and the cashier offered advice on places to see while we were in Mobile. Friendly, fun candy shop to stop into if you're in downtown Mobile!
google avatar

Yelp
Had to come by after yoga in the Square. Just had to get a few triple milk chocolate dripped malt balls. Lady came and assisted me and advised they only had a few left. I told her I just needed a few... She bagged me a few and handed it to me and said good bless you! Wow best experience ever and I kept my coins!
google avatar

Alyson G.

Yelp
While walking through the town, we stopped by this candy shop, what we found was better than anything we could've imagined. This place had the most amazing employees ever. They were so nice and friendly and spent time to talk to us. We learned history about the town and they gave us ideas about places to visit. We also bought some super amazing pecan candy. When visiting Mobile, please stop here. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Childhood memories of gourmet Easter Baskets wrapped in pastel colored cellophane and filled with homemade goodies from George's. White chocolate bunny, malted milk eggs (my longtime favorite), and plastic eggs filled with jelly bellies (at that time George's was the only place in town to get them). I think I'll order myself a basket this year.
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
Its a great little candy shop, right in the heart of Mobile. They offer ice cream, shakes, and cholocates galore. It needs to be on your list of things to see and try, and you should do so every time you visit Mobile, so they place will be around for all to enjoy... GO THERE! :)
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Really kind people that work there, but a little underwhelming. Only had 2 flavors of ice creams (vanilla & chocolate), a lot of candy offerings. Had a pecan roll that was good, but that amongst only a few other things really seemed unique to the shop.
google avatar

Katrina D.

Yelp
What a a little gem on Dauphin Street! I was visiting from out of down and didn't really have high expectations for Mobile. No one I know has ever been here so I couldn't really get any advice of what to do or see. We decided to check out this candy shop for a little afternoon pick-me-up. The woman working behind the counter was a great help in guiding my boyfriend to choose the perfect candy for him. There was a wide selection and they are all made in house. The candy itself was delicious. We even came back the next day to get more. I love shopping locally and discovering the true flavor of somewhere I'm visiting. This is the perfect place if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth! Great job, Three George's!
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
My wife n I walked in just to snoop but after taste testing a handful of different chocolates and talking to the very friendly lady behind the counter, we left with a box of delicious assorted dark, caramel, coconut, and pecan chocolates. It's conveniently located on Dauphin St. across from Montego's, so after you're done filling up on some delicious food go grab some mouthwatering desserts!
google avatar

Yelp
I had such a great time in this candy store visiting with staff and sampling the chocolates. So friendly and the candies are awesome. All the chocolate covered nuts and peanut butter bars were amazing but my favorite is the devinity. The best I ever had. I can't wait for my next trip to Mobile when I can go to Three George's to get my favorite candy.
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Mobile, I run by Three George's Candy Shop. What a great place! Wonderful hand-made candy and friendly, helpful employees. I've never gone out of there without a free sample of something. Make your day brighter, and stop by for a little chocolate.
google avatar

Suely C.

Yelp
I really enjoy their many flavors of fudge. However I found their pralines to be mediocre compared to Margaret's pralines at Chocolate Corner in Gulf Shores and Southern Candymakers in New Orleans.
google avatar

Jerry H.

Yelp
While visiting from California, I stopped in here while strolling around downtown Mobile. I just had a chocolate shake, but it was one of the best I've ever had. The decor was what was expected from a candy store/ice cream shop. The staff was very friendly and ready to help.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! I come here after I eat lunch at Mama's for a sweet treat. They have a ton of different nuts dipped in chocolate and white chocolate. They also do floats and shakes. You can eat inside or outside too!
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
Nice old-fashioned feeling little candy shop staffed by sort of hipster type kids. Had a milkshake, which hit the spot. Looks like they sell mainly chocolate, some nice holiday gift items as well, and sandwiches as well though I didn't get to try.

Tina M.

Yelp
Their chocolates are super tasty. I'm a big fan of the dark chocolate Heavenly Hash. A big marshmallow coated in dark chocolate and pecans. A bit on the pricey side (almost $2 for one marshmallow) but I can't resist. I had lunch there for the first time. The place doesn't really draw a lunch crowd (which is why I went because every where else was packed out). I ordered the chicken sandwich with a garden salad and drink for $6.50. The meal in itself was just OK. It was supposed to come on a 5 grain bread but instead came on a dry-ish croissant. However, a whole meal for 6.50 and no lines = worth it. The staff are always nice and helpful and don't seem annoyed when I come in for 2 pieces of chocolate, so that's nice.
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
Don't waste your time and money. I'm visiting Mobile from CA. The place is a bland imitation of an old fashioned ice cream parlor. Though I ordered a simple milkshake, it took 25 minutes because the guy (rude) served a group of teenagers and parents ahead of me. Five dollars for a half filled plastic cup with mediocre ice cream. UGH!!! Bad experience, but did give me an entrepreneurial idea to open up a Cold Stone Cream Shop.
google avatar

L. G.

Yelp
The staff seemed disgruntled, but not hostile. I bought $12 worth of sweets. The chocolate was horrible. The peanut butter milk chocolate tasted like plastic. The white chocolate cashew was awful and made me feel sick, straight up stomach ache. I threw everything else away.
google avatar

Garrett G.

Yelp
This place is special. I used to love going here during Mardi Gras and whenever I was in downtown Mobile. It's on the corner of Dauphin Street where a short walking distance from the restaurants and bars in downtown. The rock candy was always my favorite but the chocolates are great. They make everything in the morning from scratch. They still use old fashion machines and recipes. If you are ever in Mobile you MUST go here. I mean, it's the beez knees... Not too fond of Mobile but this is a must if you're in the city.
google avatar

Henry H.

Yelp
Super nice workers. I picked up a praline that the worker thought was too small, and without enough nuts so she went to the back and hand picked one twice as big full of pecans. Love the southern hospitality.
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
Turtles are my favorite type of chocolate and the one in here is the freaking best I ever had! The orange peels dipped in white chocolate is amazing. I will defiantly be coming back
google avatar

Candace T.

Yelp
Let's just say chocolate anything makes me happy. Lyric was the name of the lady working there and she was quite friendly and helpful. Tons of choices. Everything I tried was great.
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
Last time I went in they were sampling pralines and chocolate covered bacon. Need I say more. It is a wonderful old fashioned candy store with a few modern twists.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Well I will say that the staff is very very very friendly. But the chocolates leave something to desire. They were nothing more than overpriced Hershey's in a pretty display. Save your money and buy brachs... and the day that we went there was a dog inside of the business...uh people we do serve humans here... that is just plain disgusting!

Stefanie F.

Yelp
I really want to give this place 5 stars because the people were so nice and its such an adorable place but after trying the fudge I can't give 5 stars. I was visiting a friend from Chicago and she brought me here to buy some treats for the plane. I bought 1/4 pound of fudge and a dark chocolate covered peanut cluster. My friends and I tried the fudge on the plane and all agreed that it tasted moldy. It was so horrible, we all spit it out. I'm really hoping that it doesn't always taste like dirty sewer water and this batch was just somehow made incorrectly.

Alicia P.

Yelp
Horrible chocolate candies although, jelly belly's are great! Candy is not all of that, to be celebrating 100 years...
