I have eaten here before and enjoyed it. We wanted good BBQ tonight and we agreed that Three Little Pigs was good. It was HORRIBLE tonight! Employees looked mad because we came. It was 4:40 on Sunday. They screwed up my husband's order and did not offer to correct it. My chopped chicken was full of fat and skin. The beans tasted like soap and the coleslaw was thick with mayo. The fries were good. Portion sizes small for the price. Do NOT recommend.

Google
Finally tried this place...it was pretty good and liked the spicy sauce

Google
Breakfast was very delicious. Everything cooked perfectly. I got a Turkey Leg for later and it was one of the best I have ever eaten. The 'Memphis' sauce is a must on it. The morning cook was a great guy. A soon to be entrepreneur. Go for it.✝️♥️🙏

Google
You can’t beat the prices here and everything is good to awesome!! Why would go to McDonald’s or any fast food place for breakfast when you can purchase it here for much less money and better quality of food!! Same goes for the barbecue as it’s much less expensive than any place in Memphis and it’s top notch barbecue. Workers are friendly. Definitely recommend!!

Google
Wow, this place has REALLY gone downhill. Very sad. First, the inside smelled musty and second I was told they stopped serving guests for dine-in and it was 6:45. Didn't offer take-out so I assumed that was not an option either. Why not just lock the doors at 6:30, then clean-up and go home at 7:00? Oh well, they probably did me a favor. By the way, if want to avoid that stank musty odor, replace the mop heads and don't leave wet mops sitting on the floor or in the sink. Hang them up to dry so they don't stink up the building.

Google
What a gem. Great service, food, and spotlessly clean dining room. The woman cleaning was so nice and welcoming when we arrived and busied herself wiping tables, sweeping the floor, and cleaning windows. I had the pulled pork sandwich with extra sauce and it was excellent. Can't tell if it had pickle relish inside or some mystery flavor ingredient? The beans were wonderful and the cole slaw was quite good. They have Dr Pepper and Coke fountain drinks. My daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger which was quite large. Would go again!

Google
Whenever I have people staying with us, this is the BBQ place we go. It’s a generational thing for my family now. We’ve had 4 generations eat at Three Little Pigs. When my grandfather moved out of the area to the suburbs, he would still drive into town to get BBQ from here whenever the family would get together. We really enjoy the place and the food. The BBQ, ribs, beans, fries, Mac and cheese, BBQ bologna, Burger Que, it’s all good here.

Google
I had high hopes for this place unfortunately, let down. Cashier was very friendly. We ordered the nachos and pulled pork. Nachos were small, missing jalapeños just and a lot of small chip crumbles. Presentation was nothing like their advertisement. The pulled pork was just okay.

Yelp
Over the past few decades I've regularly eaten here, and overall have greatly enjoyed their food. The best thing that that this little joint has is their pulled, chopped pork. (I feel sorry for the tourists who miss out on good barbecue by getting trapped at Corky's or The Rendezvous.)

Yelp
I used to love to come here and eat, years ago. The past two visits the food has been worthy of sending back. The last visit we ordered a breakfast plate and the eggs were un-eatable and sausage burned to a crisp. The inside of the diner is just gross now too. I am a local supporter but not when things go downhill. I hope things change at this place bc it was a great place for many years.

Yelp
Something is different. Been awhile since I've been in but evidently they've changed ownership. I took a friend in and we both got the pork plate. It was pretty bad. BBQ pork was like it was boiled and was drowned in sauce. The slaw was the only thing that was edible. They give you a Marie Calender roll for your plate instead of a toaster bun. Not acceptable. Beans and fries were nasty.

Yelp
What happened to Three Little Pigs? Is it the new management? I just ordered a family onion rings that I know the cashier said onion rings because I heard her say fry them extra because I was traveling to Lakeland. I get to Lakeland and I have a family size okra. Which would be fine if my family liked okra. Thankfully they got the onion rings instead of fries on my two jumbo plates right, but now I'm stuck with a styrofoam container of okra that I paid for that no one will eat. And I tried to call, but the phone just going to voicemail asking me to enter a number? Seriously? I understand mistakes happen but now my only recourse is to drive 20 minutes away to take this back. And honestly, the cashier seemed so uninterested, she could have said onion rings and rang up okra - who knows!! And don't try to leave a comment on their web page / that gives an error, too! Wrong order, phone doesn't work and website comment is broke. That's just poor business.

Yelp
On a scale of 1-10, I rate them a 5. And, the reason for the five rating is any place that smothers their sandwich in sauce is hiding something. That is substandard BBQ. Three Little pigs doesn't need to smother their sandwiches in barbecue sauce. Even though it is consistently less smoky than better places, it is consistent with no fat and gristle. I hear their cheeseburgers are better than the barbecue. I've never had the cheeseburger, so I don't know about that. Tops is a place where you go and are Jonesin for barbecue but there's no One & Only, Corky's, Paynes, or Cozy Corner close.

Yelp
Called 8 times to place an order as I drove from downtown to the location at 6:00pm. No answer. Including once when I was standing in their nearly empty restaurant. This was to get burgers because the last time I got a BBQ it was not suitable to eat. I do not recommend them anymore. Go to Tops is my recommendation. I went to subway.

Yelp
I had the jumbo BBQ plate with tea for lunch. The fries were seasoned coated and excellent. Wish there was a larger portion but the BBQ took up a good portion of the plate. Good trade off. BBQ sauce was vinegar base with some sweetness as was the slaw . Baked beans when flavorful as well but I would add a touch of sweetness like honey and hickory smoke. I always save the bread for later but on the way home... one bite and that was it Tea was perfect ..not watered down or strong and overbearing . BBQ was the best! The meat flavor, texture and moisture was excellent. Cleanest chopped meat I've had in years. Service great and nice large screen sports TV screens. Highly recommend

Yelp
First and only time I'll order from there. While waiting...The cashier must've scratched under her t-shirt 10?times and pulled it up to wipe her nose. She may have not touched the food but it was too much for me. Took the order and threw it out. Bummer

Yelp
This BBQ is amazing! This is a must try bbq joint. It's very sanitary & quiet. People run to this location because they are aware of the spicy goodness that this place holds. This place is all about tender delicious meaty goodness. This is slowly becoming a Memphis favorite. The lines are always long. The people who work here are friendly and professional. The food is totally worth it. Old fashioned BBQ with a spicy goodness. I give it 5 stars.

Chris J.

Yelp
Stopped at a gas station on Mt. Mariah and asked the tenant where to get Bar B Q in this area. They directed me to Three Little Pigs at Quince and Whitestation. I ordered a junior sandwich plate. Was looking forward to eating that sandwich. Took a bite and pulled back a long strand of hair. I immediately spit everything out and threw away the plate. That did it for me, will never eat there again. Advice to owner, if your employees are gonna wear long hair and prepare food hair nets should be requirex.

Yelp
Fast and great food and service. I go at least once a week. I make it a destination since it is an hour from my house This is a great place, never disappointed, and the people are great.

Yelp
3 Little Pigs is wonderful! They have a great menu, service, & not too expensive. You're treated like family

Yelp
I stopped to get a pound of barbeque and it came w the barbeque sauce. Before tasting it I poured it on the meat and yuck!! The sauce is horrible! Tastes like vinegar and it looks weird like stuff floating on the top! Ruined my dinner!!

R D.

Yelp
Terrible quality and quantity .. tasted horrible .. won't be eating there again. Ordered 2 regular bbq sandwiches and when I got home I felt like I was ripped off and wasn't satisfied with the sandwiches taste .. cole slaw tasted spoiled on the sandwiches, very little bbq sauce..would've rather saved my money for Tops or Central bbq that's higher quality and more quantity.

D O.

Yelp
Tuesday night my husband got an 8 pack. We got 1 pound of meat, sauce and a substitute of beans (only 8 Oz) instead of coleslaw. Do you seriously think 1 pound of meat and 8 ounces of beans is enough for 8 sandwiches? I am very unhappy and embarrassed. We only wanted to serve 5. I'm giving you a chance to make this right before I post a review. Food was good but it was not enough for 8 sandwiches. I tried to contact them thru messenger, thru their website and by phone. I have received no response.

Yelp
Great place for a local breakfast and everyone knows your name. Great little local place for breakfast biscuit sandwich. Clean, friendly and great place to eat local.

Yelp
Three Little Pigs BBQ was a pleasant surprise! I had the handy dandy coupon book out looking for a new place to try with a coworker and there it was! On page 119, Three Little Pigs BBQ! We said, what the heck. We've seen it a ton of times but we've never stopped in so we tore out the coupon and blazed a trail I've to the location on Quince. Upon arrival, I noticed the clientele seemed to be nice people so I asked a gentleman on the way in if the place was good. He was an older gentleman wearing a security guard uniform and he had a large sack full of to-go food. He raised his head to greet me and said, oh yea! We entered to business and to our pleasant surprise the restaurant was nice and clean. The employees were polite and kind as they created us. The aroma of fresh smoked BBQ filled the room and we stepped up and ordered two Jumbo Combos, Slaw & Sauce on the sandwiches with fries and Sweet tea. We waited about 2 minutes max. and our name was called as our tray of delicious moist BBQ was placed on the counter for pickup. We grabbed it and didn't waste a moment digging in. The BBQ was the perfect color, texture, and flavor. Dark on the outside, pink in the middle, and so juicy and fresh! The bun and slaw were married so well with that delicious pulled pork I couldn't describe them to you if I tried. The fries were delicious too! They were very crispy and warm. We really enjoyed lunch and we've already made plans to return for breakfast one day with the other guys in the office! The place kinda reminds you of a Tops BBQ but WAY better! It's super clean, and they offer a wider variety of food, sides, deserts, and even Breakfast! Great Job Guys!

Yelp
If I could give this restaurant a ZERO star I would. Rudest customer service EVER! I'm hoping not because of my skin color because I never like to play the race card. I walk in and the 1st thing 70 year old lady says to me is "what will you have -- I can't hear you!" I was still looking at the menu -- have not even said one word. Politely made my order and yes ma'am and thank you to her. Even the teenage workers around were dropping their jaws. Waiting for my order -- older white gentleman walks in-- she's as sweet as can be to him-- "how may I help you today.." I'm happy to support local. Hopefully the owner will read this -- if you want people to eat at your establishment -- train your employees to treat people how they want to be treated. Furthermore, have your older workers set a good example for the teenagers working there.

Yelp
This was first visit here. Has a mom and pop feel to it. The cashier was courteous but making me aware thst order was ready would've been nice had my name been called properly. The tables were close but distanced accordingly. The food I ordered ( shoulder sandwich plate) was okay.

Yelp
Felt great, stopped In for breakfast. Tasted great and order was accurate. But, an hour later and I was sick. Explosively.

Jana M.

Yelp
I called in a take-out order for 1 lb of meat and 1 quart of beans, pretty simple. They said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes after I called, paid for the order, but it was not ready. It was behind 3 walk-in orders that happened after my call. OK, not the end of the world. But the price was several dollars more than my previous pick-up. I know prices are going up, but this seemed like a lot. Then I checked the menu board -- the meat price I was charged was correct, but the beans said $5.49 and they had charged me $7.27. I asked why the charge differed from the menu. First they said it was tax; nope that's separate. Then they said it's because I used a credit card, but why was the meat not more too if that's the reason? Finally, I said they could keep the beans and I would take my money back. They gave it to me and then I found out they also had put a Pint of beans, not a Quart, in the sack (they probably just don't know the difference, but still the order was wrong AND the price was wrong.) While I like their BBQ, I can get good BBQ at other places nearby and I don't have to deal with ignorance, incompetence and indifference, all of which I encountered today. So long Three Little Pigs; I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Yelp
Pretty good! You can order at the counter or call ahead. It has a cute, old-fashioned vibe inside. I got the Barbeque sandwich plate, which comes with slaw, beans, and fries. The actual barbeque was delicious, although the sauce wasn't as tangy as I would like, but the roll was good quality. The fries are battered, which is always a plus in my book. Most of the time I can take or leave beans and slaw, but both of them were quite tasty and flavorful. I also tried the potato salad, which I liked, but found a bit mustard-forward. If you want a dessert, go for the banana pudding! The pecan pie is not homemade and not anything to write home about. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Three Little Pigs, and I would definitely consider stopping by again the next time I'm driving down Quince!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast plates, great neighborhood BBQ with the best pepper sauce. One of those that make Memphis bar-b-que the standard. Great serving of country ham and cooked just right, great biscuits. The benefit of country ham is that you get a real plate. Normally the plates are styrofoam...but the food is still excellent.

Yelp
I was here in December 2012, on a road trip from CA to VA, and had to get some Memphis BBQ. My fiancee ordered a BBQ plate which apparently we were meant to share. It was so good, I ate 75% of it before realizing I should at least offer him some! Bar-B-Q Plates include Bar-B-Q Pork, a Schubert roll, beans, slaw, & fries. Now I'm normally not a fan of beans, but these were delicious! Everything was the perfect combination of tastes that when I think BBQ, I'm always thinking about Memphis. My fiancee, who at this current moment is nearing Memphis and going to stop by, has me drooling over this food in good ole Cali...and I just ate! Maybe it's the great memory I had of driving from West to East coast that makes this place so much more exciting. Even if that's the case, I still like this place!
google avatar

Josue R.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place after finding an article of it online. I'm traveling on a budget and i read that the prices were fair, so I had to give it a try. I ordered the bbq regular plate. Shredded bbq ribs with a good tangy & sweet bbq sauce! A side of cole slaw, french fries, beans, bread and a fountain drink. All for the price of $8 I was full, happy and i really enjoyed this meal!
google avatar

MB A.

Yelp
Although I don't normally eat a burger at a BBQ joint , I still believe any good BBQ joint should have a decent burger- not here! This small thin tasteless piece of overdone meat is set on a vast landscape of generic unheated dry bun, & topped with a processed square slice of cheese that doesn't melt along with a , leftover from breakfast , piece of bacon( you pay an extra 1.50 for that "bacon cheeseburger" pleasure). So for about 5.50 you can order a BCBurger at Three Little Pigs, but DON'T DO IT! Their fries are good, though as is their breakfast so that's why I gave them 2 stars

Adolf Mauser M.

Yelp
Fries and beans were good. Slaw was so-so and the meat was dry. The sauce wasn't particularly good either
google avatar

Corbin L.

Yelp
Great bbq sandwiches and French fries. Bbq nachos are decent, better than tops but not as good as central. Would not get a burger, I would stick to bbq and sides. This place is very good. Comparable to tops but a little more consistent.
google avatar

Erik V.

Yelp
Ordered a sandwich, biscut, and hashbrowns.....got home with sandwich, biscut(missing the sausage ), and no hashbrowns......3rd time in a row my order was half wrong(probaly a bit my fault at this point for not checking)......but come on.....my order was pretty simple.....probaly go somewhere else from now on

Morgan G.

Yelp
The meat was dry, not enough sauce (none on the table), fries and slaw were good. Potato salad tasted store-bought. Quick service, friendly staff. None of the staff were wearing gloves though. Good prices. Overall: wasn't bad, but was disappointing.
google avatar

K. D. W.

Yelp
No masks (at least not PROPERLY WORN!), no gloves. Lousy service and boring food. Skip it!

Kathy P.

Yelp
I'd probably say this place is unsanitary. Never a hair net, gloves or masks. I know someone who works there and they never wear a hair net.

Yelp
The first time I ever had BBQ was from Holleman's (in West Memphis), and 11 years ago. I didn't know much about BBQ back then but what I did know is that I loved it. Years later I traveled to Texas for college and was very confused by Texas style BBQ, and while I did find myself digging in whenever I could, I always missed Arkansas (Memphis style?) BBQ. Back in Tennessee for the first time in years I knew I wanted the one thing they couldn't replicate in any of the over priced BBQ joints in NYC...pulled pork. My sister in laws parents seemed to appreciate the fact that if I was going to do BBQ I wanted to do it right, so they took us a solid 35 minutes away to the Three Little Pigs. I was forewarned that this little joint wasn't a site for sore eyes, but not to be quick to mistake its looks for the way the food tasted. As per usual I ordered way too much... I went with the jumbo BBQ platter ($6.59 / reg platter $5.79) which included a heaping serving of pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, french fries, and a sweet tea. The beans were scrumptious, the fries were some of the best I had ever had, the cole slaw was good, and the pulled pork was absolutely perfect. Moist pork doused in just the right amount of BBQ sauce. Mmm - pretty sure I was in BBQ heaven. Yeah, the decor was not anything to write home about, but the food most certainly was. The service too. The next time I'm in Memphis I will certainly be stopping in at the Three Little Pigs. --- *Cash only. **Free refills.

Yelp
Three Little Pigs is a long-standing BBQ joint in East Memphis on Quince Road. I have eaten here a few times, but decided tonight to eat it to review it. My meal would be a standard BBQ spot meal for me: a pork sandwich topped with slaw and hot sauce, beans on the side. The beans were quite tasty. There was pork in the beans, which is something I prefer. There was no tartiness to the side dish, and in fact, there was some nice spice to it. Many times, bbq spots ignore the beans and focus entirely on the meat. I think Three Little Pigs has done a nice job on the beans, though. The bun was toasted. There's nothing wrong in my opinion with a toasted bun. It's pretty hard to screw up a bun on a BBQ sandwich. The slaw was mass-produced, or at least it tasted that way. This was disappointing. I know it's much easier to order a barrel of Sysco slaw, but it doesn't taste very good. It may have been a tub of slaw from Kroger. I expected better. The hot sauce was excellent. It was clearly made in the store or somewhere very close by. There were red pepper flakes floating throughout the spicy red sauce, and it added a much-needed boost to the pork. Which brings me to the meat. Sigh. It was flavorless, dry, and was likely cooked 18 hours or more before the meat was served to me. I was extremely disappointed in the meat, especially when seeing stacks and stacks of wood sitting by the front door of the restaurant. This spot has the ability to be a truly amazing BBQ spot. It's got history; it's got location (right next to a bowling alley), it's got a plethora of ceramic pigs for decorations ... what it doesn't have (or at least did not have tonight) is smoke-infused, tasty and moist pulled/chopped pork. I'm beginning to think there is no excellent place to get pork inside the me city limits of Memphis other than Payne's. I will continue looking (unless someone wants to kindly email me the name of a better spot). I do not think I will come back to Three Little Pigs, unless it is to try their breakfast. I may come for the beans. I doubt I will come back for the pork. Three stars, mostly for the beans and hot sauce.

Yelp
The ribs, bbq and hamburgers are great. Have an awesome breakfast as well. Can get very crowded at peak times.

Yelp
I love the breakfast here. They are always fast and friendly. And the homemade sausage us great.

Phyllis F.

Yelp
Best barbecue in the whole USA!!! We've eaten at many great barbecue restaurants across the country, but this place tops all of them.

Mike Y.

Yelp
Ordered 2 shoulder party pacs described would feed 40 people. We had tons of excellent and very lean bbq. We had 30 people attend our party and only ate 1/2 of the bbq. The food was excellent and made a great party. What a bargain and good time. My favorite bbq in Memphis.

Teri C.

Yelp
We love Three Little Pigs! The 'big breakfast' is the best breakfast in Memphis and for a great bargain! We order BBQ to-go, weekly and love it! My husband orders a jumbo BBQ sandwich w/slaw, his favorite! I order the regular BBQ plate w/beans, potato salad, and fried okra and it's so yummy! The staff is always so nice, service w/a big smile, always! Their ice tea is also great, if you're an ice tea fan!

Yelp
I haven't ever had the Bar-b-q but the breakfast is really good. My favorite spot for breakfast. Good customer service and reasonable prices.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is their prices. Food wise, I was very disappointed. I seen this place featured somewhere and figured I'd visit since I was in town. I can't speak on the breakfast menu, but the BBQ plate I purchased was wack. The chopped pork didn't really have any flavor and the sauce was so-so at best. The corn was some frozen Wal-Mart type and the beans tasted like some canned beans with some sauce. Nothing special other than their prices. I guess you get what you pay for holds true here. It's like a 20 minute drive from downtown Memphis, so I'd advise you to skip this place and find something downtown, which has a much better selection of BBQ. I really didn't find anything to rant or rave about this place was. Definitely would pass on this joint.
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
This restaurant has a very simple formula. It's to provide quality food at reasonable prices. I've been going to Three Little Pigs for years and have never been let down. I consider it one my 'go to bar-b-q restaurants.'

Lily W.

Yelp
This place is fast and consistent. I needed to update the previous review because we order from here too often not to reflect that in the review. Thanks for being in our community
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
Three Little Pigs is where I go when I don't feel like cooking but I also don't feel like traveling more than 1000 feet to get food. Yes, it's that close. Every time I go, I swear I won't waste my time or money again, yet somehow laziness prevails. Saturday I went for breakfast at about 9:45. The dining room was about full but I got to place my order right away. I grabbed a bottle of apple juice and ordered a bacon-and-egg sandwich, a side of hashbrowns and a coffee. This came to about $10, which is entirely too much for the quality of everything except the juice (good job on that Mott's or whatever brand that was). I don't know how a simple bacon-and-egg sandwich can be made unappetizing but congratulations Three Little Pigs, y'all did it! And the coffee was basically brown water. Hopefully next time I'm too lazy to crack an egg and make toast I'll remember this experience.

Yelp
I love this place, for what it is. I used to live a few blocks from here and have been coming here on and off for almost 40 years. (Holy crap, I just did the math.) I moved out of Memphis in 1979 but still go back every year or two to visit family and just about always stop by Three Little Pigs. As others have pointed out, it's not the decor, although it _is_ better now than it used to be. I am a big fan of the pulled pork sandwich, probably because I grew up eating theirs. I love their sauce, and as others have pointed out, the baked beans are awesome. (You just don't get beans like that in New Jersey.) I do miss the lady that worked there for 35+ years, she was always there, chopping away. I never knew her name and she wasn't particularly friendly but now that she's gone (passed away I'm sorry to say) I do miss her. If you have the chance to eat here do stop in and enjoy it. Next time I am there I have to try the ribs which I hear they just added to the menu.
google avatar

Clydine D.

Yelp
A great little BBQ place. They also have a good breakfast. Do not order the ribs when they have them though. The worst I have had in a restaurant. The are meaty but very tough. Definitely not fall off the bone. Mine were also cold, like they were re-heated from the refrig. and just barely heated. They put so much dry rub on them after about two ribs I started to get nauseous. Another thing, roll was not included with my meal. Will definitely not do ribs there again. I give them 1 star for the ribs, 4 stars for every thing else.

Sam G.

Yelp
This a great example of what makes Memphis BBQ so highly praised. Great portions, good prices, and outstanding flavor. Their BBQ Baked Beans are the best I've ever had, and the BBQ sauce for their sandwiches is amazing. Their hot sauce has is even better for those who like a bite to their BBQ.

Yelp
This is a bbq place in a neighborhood of Memphis. Service was not very friendly. Bbq sauce is full of mustard. Prices are ok. There are better places in Memphis for BBQ.
