9/30/23 - Visiting from VA and got to check this spot out. The bartender was super nice and cool. We were one of those people that came 10 minute's before closed. He let us get one drink. It was super yummy. Loved the scenery and atmosphere as well. We got out 2 minutes before closing time and thanked the bar tender for letting us get a drink. Would love to check it out if we get a chance to visit again.

Went during the day and got to sample 6 of their mixed drinks. The guy behind the bar told us the Boston Tea Party drink was selling out and wouldn’t return, which was too bad because it was the best one on the menu. Everything else, unfortunately, was just okay. It was really nice they let us bring in outside food! And if you order food and eat there they will give you $2off your drink order. Parking was easy. The staff were friendly. The space is really cool. They drinks were just alright.

Best of Portland Brewery and Spirits Bus Tour – Three of Strong Three of Strong is a rum distillery, bar, and tasting room. Rum is any spirit made from a sugar cane plant which makes is very versatile. Three of Strong uses all organic ingredients that include sugar cane, molasses, slow fermenting yeast and locally sourced water. They do not use any artificial flavors or colors. I enjoyed the tour and of the distillery and learned about the process for making rum. After their tasting session, I found their spiced rum to be one of the best I have ever had. It was smooth and the delivered very flavorful finish when drinking it straight. If you are in Portland, ME, make sure you stop in or visit by going on the “Best of Portland Brewery and Spirits Bus” Tour.

I came here on a beer tour and had the best time! felt really welcomed here on my solo trip to maine. the person who led our tour was so knowledgeable! I learned so much and I can confidently say i can now brew my own rum in my apartment.

Favorite distillery in Maine! Delicious cocktails, awesome rum and even better service. Greeted and served by a warm and friendly lady. We started with a spiced rum cocktail served hot with ice cream- photo in my review, it was awesome! Followed by 3 rum tastings, all good!

Google
T-Money was the bomb! Their energy and love for the product made our day! Lots of rum to taste. Some in the flight better than others, all depends on your palate. Great space, atmosphere, with a view of the operations. We happened to visit on a seasonably warm day in February which allowed them to open one of the bay doors.

Very ingenious selection of drinks. A popcorn lover's dream with bottomless popcorn. The butter one was our favorite. Wish you success, perhaps you spread across the country and we can enjoy this in other cities.

Mostly rum (which is my jam), and a very solid variety of rum at that! Enjoyed a flight and a few cocktails. Highly recommend to all who love the rum

Yelp
Stopped by after work with some colleagues and it was just perfect. The speciality cocktails rock and our server was the best. A hometown local feel with the professionalism but the classiness of a fine cocktail. Cheers!

Yelp
I don't think my home has been without a bottle of 'Chando since Three of Strong opened in 2019. I consider myself one of their original fans, and I will continue to tell everyone I know that THEY'RE THE BEST LOCALLY MADE RUM THERE IS. So, 'Chando is their 12-year-old, world-class sipping rum and it hails from Colombia where Parchando means to hang out with your friends. "It's balanced glow of dried fruits and smoke will warm you with wonder" says the website, and I agree entirely with that explanation. It's easily drinkable as is, their signature cocktail suggestion is to use it in an Old Fashioned, but my favorite way to drink it is in coffee. Hot, iced, flavored, not flavored... try it, and thank me later. The ready to drink canned cocktails featuring fresh, all-natural ingredients are also very, very tasty. The Maine Mojito has mint, lime, sugarcane, and Brightwater silver rum. It's tart and refreshing! The Stormy Night has ginger, lime, sugarcane, and Nightwater dark rum. It's delicious in a way that's very dangerous, y'know what I mean? The cans make them easily transportable, just make sure they're ICE COLD (I find they become a little cloying when warm). While I don't visit the distillery much, the staff here has always been exceptional! Also the location is fantastic; there's parking, it's easy to navigate to and from, and there's loads going on in East Bayside that you could make visiting a part of a really fun day out!

Yelp
Fun spot to hang with friends and have some seasonal drinks. Staff is super friendly and willing to recommend a drink for your taste buds.

Yelp
My first experience with Three of Strong Spirits was when my husband brought home a growler fill of mojito. It was the most amazing discovery ever! I physically visited with my dad on Father's Day. It's a cool spot that reminds me of places in Portland, Oregon because of the warehouse/open garage bay vibe. They have outdoor, indoor and bar seating so you've got options. We sat at the bar because I find you get the best service when sitting at any bar. The staff was friendly and great about recommending certain things depending on what you like. Note, Three of Strong is a Rum and Gin distillery and they do not have a full bar. The menu has a lot of options for different tastes and drink preferences such as on the rocks, up, etc. We ended up ordering a drink that was described as being their version of a painkiller. I knew it would be sort of pina colada-esqe so I figured my dad would like it. He trusted me and ended up loving it. I also got a growler of mojito to go and another prepared mixed drink to go. Definitely visit for a tour or a cocktail flight.

Yelp
Love this place. It's so much more than a tasting room. You can certainly do flights of their spirits, but they also have a really thoughtfully created cocktail menu that can scratch the itch for everything from a Painkiller to a gin & tonic with lots in between. The prices are really fair for their mixed drinks too, something I'm appreciating more these days now that cocktails at some bars are edging $15+. The tasting room is bright, there's quite a bit of outside seating as well, and there's even parking in this neck of the woods (Bayside). On top of that, the staff is lovely. So friendly and really excited to talk about the spirits and drinks, which is harder to come by at tasting rooms than you'd think. They have a very small snacks menu, which is better than nothing, but I must say, the charcuterie was pretty bad. They must not have a functional kitchen (or the time to make it) so it's pre-packaged in sealed containers in their fridge. Maybe we just caught it on an off week, but the salami was funky and getting gray, the cashews had gone soft as a result of being in with all the moist stuff, same with the crackers. Manchego and blueberry (goat?) cheese were decent, but wouldn't recommend for $20. The hummus and fresh veggies on the other hand was very nice. I would assume they'll be back to having food trucks/carts in the warmer months. Definitely put it at the top of your Bayside Crawl list!

Yelp
Great place to hang and they make all their stuff in house. Plus, they offer $5 bottomless popcorn.

Yelp
What an AWESOME rum distillery!!! On a beautiful fall day we stopped by and enjoyed sitting outside enjoying some cocktails. There are garage doors that were open, allowing joined indoor outdoor seating on a continuum. At first my boyfriend and I both tried a flight of rum drinks and his favorite was the coconut smash which was sweet with pineapple and orange juice and coconut spiced rum. My favorite was the mojito which was refreshing and light. We loved hanging out in a chill environment, having a few drinks with music in the background. Can't wait to come back again to try some more cocktails.

Yelp
The tonic completely obliterated the gin. The egg nog needs badly to be strained (there's seemed to be curdles in it) & worst of the 4 drinks was the rum cider drink advertised as *served hot* which we were told would be a few minutes to warm up. Served less than room temperature with a coagulated layer of butter on top (the butter costs extra so I guess I'm glad I can see it?). They were friendly, nice space. One star for each of those but zero for the drinks.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, you better run to this spot! I know I'm new in town and don't know where all the cool kids hang out yet but this is one of them. In addition to off the chart beverages, the have HEATED SEAT CUSHIONS so people like myself are not freezing while sitting outside. The neighborhood is becoming a cool little district of nothing but good beverages, food and even better vibes. If you need to find me this summer, check here first!!

Yelp
Tonight we enjoyed a mixology class at Three of Strong with Crystal - she is knowledgeable, witty and forthcoming with information. She had us prepare two cocktails of the same kind with different twists - traditional Martinique style - then her style of the drink with lime and a white limited addition Rum called Working Title - a new release of Three of Strong. Crystal answers all our groups questions with detail and information that was valuable take always. I think we will join her for another evening of mixology with Rum !!

Yelp
Very excited to visit after it was recommended to us by friends. Upon entry the bartender was eager for us to find seating away from the bar even though there were seats at the bar. We requested to simply order our drink and find a seat and she discouraged us. There may have been one or two other parties in the entire establishment. We obeyed and found a seat. There were no drink menus on the table so we had to return to the bar to use the QR code AT THE BAR. Flight was good- drinks were good- not great. Service unacceptable. Will not return.

Yelp
There are only a few distilleries in Portland and Three of Strong Spirits is a great addition in Portland. We got a tour of the distillery by the owner and you could tell he takes pride in his work and it shows in the spirits he creates. The dark rum was my favorite but I think the clear rum would be better for cocktails like a daiquiri. The only downside here is that they are only open Thursday-Saturday.

Yelp
Mostly rums on the menu but the gin (in my opinion) is by far the most amazing. Nice and balanced with more herbal flavors than juniper. Great little story of how they became a family-run distillery. They also have spicy popcorn for purchase to munch on while you sip.

Yelp
Great local meeting spot! Warm and friendly environment, great spirits and impressive layout. Worth checking out whether you're a local or just passing through.

Yelp
Just left this brand new distillery and I want to shout it's praises from the rooftops. The location is great, near a host of breweries including Rising Tide, and the building is gorgeous with garage doors that open up to the outside. There's outdoor seating (which is dog friendly), but you feel like you're outside even when indoors because of the open wall. The space is beautifully designed and has a gorgeous wall mural by Sylvi of Portland Hunt and Alpine. Crystal did an incredible job with chatting us up at the bar and making ridiculously good rum cocktails. Everything looked better than the next, and we found ourselves sad that we only had time to try one drink each. We'll certainly be back to work through the rest of the menu. Today we had the Berry Me Naked which had an amazing strawberry fennel jam component, and the Take Two in the Morning which had 5x cold-brew and was much lighter than expected. Both drinks were the perfect combination of drink elements and very refreshing on a hot summer day. The food menu looks amazing as well and I can't wait to come back and sample some things like the rum-pulled pork taco. They are beginning to distill their first batch of rum right now, and are more than willing to give you a tour if you ask, which is so nice. The grand opening will officially be in August, but you wouldn't know that they just opened two days ago with how smoothly things run. Do yourself a favor and get over there NOW.

Yelp
Really great staff, reasonable cocktail prices, and great rum. You can't go wrong with rum punch on tap! We did a tasting of all their rums and liked the Nightwater and Merrymeeting rums the best. Really great and unique flavor profile. You'll want to take a bottle home for the branding alone! Definitely a place to check out.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this addition to the East Bayside alcohol establishments. I got the Painkiller which was phenomenal and my husband got the Old Fashioned which was made with a pineapple rum and it really hit the spot. They haven't had their grand opening yet so it was really a crowd of people who know the owner and just one bartender on staff. Looking forward to coming back as they grow. I think this place will be a hit.

Yelp
When I emailed Three of Strong asking about any tour openings the following day (a Saturday), I expected either radio silence or a polite, "not a chance". What I didn't expect was for one of the owners to make time to give a tour to me and my girlfriend the very next day - but that's what happened! Dave was knowledgeable, kind, welcoming, and funny. The bartenders, Crystal and Rachel were awesome as well, and made us feel right at home. The rum was so good that we left with a bottle - seriously, the spiced rum is amazing. The Portland brewery scene is great, but if you're looking for something unique and some genuine people, don't miss this place.

Yelp
Awesome rum!! Stopped here on the way up to Bar Harbor. Distillery and bar - great food and cocktails.

Yelp
Nice vibe and good drinks in an area that is mostly filled with breweries. The sfaff has always been super nice and dogs are more than welcome.

Yelp
This place completely changed my mind about rum. As the owner Sam said a lot of people have a bad taste of rum, some bad experience from college, this place is here to rehabilitate you. It's the rum rehabilitation center. No sugar is added, very smooth and wonderful flavor. We tried the house punch and the Berry Me Naked. Crystal the bartender is there to help with whatever you need, a shot, a cocktail or a story. Highly recommend this place. I will be back to enjoy this new Portland staple!

Yelp
We wandered in here and it smelled like Christmas time with delicious savory food smells and sweet warm drinks brewing. We tasted the rums and they were smooth and delightful. I had an old fashioned type drink as well and it was very good. The bartender and owner were both lovely to chat with- overall we had a wonderful time and wish we lived in the area and could be regulars!

Yelp
Went here for the first time tonight and it was awesome. The bartender was super friendly, venue was open and inviting and the cocktails were out of this world! They really put love and though into their drinks! Loved the painkiller cocktail. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Incredible drinks and even better people! Less busy than the rest of Fox St, which is nice. This has become one of my new favorites!

Yelp
This place was the perfect spot to start my night out in Portland. The cocktails were super flavorful and unique! My friends and I played shuffleboard in the backroom and it was such a nice time. I came for the grand opening and have been back many times since - cannot recommend enough!
