I swear I'd written a review for this place some time last year. Well, I guess I'd just written it in my head or in my dreams or something. So here goes.
Three sheets is REALLY a neighborhood bar. It's the kind of bar that you go to if you just want to relax, wind down, and talk to friendly people. It's not the kind of bar where you go to dress to impress and to pick up a boy or a girl (although I'm not saying that it couldn't happen.)
The first time I came in here was obviously some time last year when I wanted to try their Thursday steak night. Unfortunately, they didn't have any left at the time. Well, this year, I decided to swing by here after I'd gone to Sherlock's for St. Patty's (Monday). I got in about 1 am in the morning. The place had plenty of people, but not packed. The owner, Adam, small talk with me and I asked him about the steak night. He said to just call in and reserve a steak if I ever wanted to come in and make sure that they'd still have a steak for me. The bar patrons and the bartender were all pretty cool. Even though it seemed like everybody knew everybody, I didn't feel like the new kid at school that nobody wanted to play with. I felt really welcomed.
I came back that Thursday for my ribeye steak. No, I didn't call because I came in pretty early and I was sure that they'd still have some steak left. They did. And when I came in, Adam actually remembered my name and greeted me by my name. For someone who can't remember another person's name that he'd just met 15 minutes ago, that was impressive to me.
Anyway, I ordered the steak, ordered a drink and just chilled there. The steak came out not too long after. It came with a baked potato and you could get the toppings from a tray buffet style. They just put the tray with the sour cream, chives, bacon bits, etc on the tray and you take as much or as little toppings that you want. Pretty cool. As for the steak, it was pretty legit! I mean, for $12 you can't really expect a prime steak quality or even Angus steak quality. But taste wise, LEGIT. The only downside to the steak was there was too much fat on the meat. I wish those fat was actually more meat. Regardless, still legit for $12. Especially if you're eating it accompanied by the background of people singing karaoke terribly.
They also serve other kinds of food here. Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich) and what not. I don't remember what's everything they listed on the menu, but I intend to try some of them in the near future.
The bar itself is pretty good sized. They have a patio on the outside, plenty seating inside, and it was pretty clean. And a full bar, obviously.
If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood bar that's kind of like Cheers, the TV show where everybody knows your name with reasonably priced drinks, a cool owner, friendly people, good food, good vibe, then this is the place to go.
