The Best Dive Bars in Houston | Eater Houston

"For a quality neighborhood dive outside the Beltway, Three Sheets Bar and Grill offers frequent drink specials alongside darts, shuffleboard, and a patio. Grab a mic on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. to croon to favorite tunes during karaoke. On Thursdays, order the 12-ounce steak and baked potato special for $15 to enjoy while the karaoke performers entertain. If liquid courage is needed before karaoke, the $3 Fireball and $4 Jager shots should do the trick." - Brianna Griff

This is a bar where everyone wants to know your name (Cheers). First time visiting and unfortunately for the staff it won't be our last ;-). Steak was divine, this is from someone who goes to Argentina every week. Can't wait to try different specials in the future. Especial thx to Adem, Molly and Rich, thx for adopting us to the family.

Our first time here after living in the area for 7 years I wish we would have gone sooner because it was such a great experience. The service was great with Rick, drinks were good and the fries were fresh and very tasty. This will be our new hang out spot!

Google
I've been coming to this place for the last 10 years.... and i always feel like family... i even got married and started bringing my husband and he loves it... steak night is by far the best place in town to get a quality steak!!!! (thursday nights) I'm so glad I'm back in this side of town again... i missed them! i always get my steak with the backed potato, my hubs liked the mashed potato... the only reason why we dont do the karaoke as often, is because it is hard to find good childcare.🥹

Perfect place to grab a quick bite and cold drinks or if you just wanna hangout with some friends. Bartenders are always friendly and happy to serve ya. The atmosphere here is totally chill and they have outside patio to hang out on. New favorite bar.

Once again, one of the best steaks I've ever had. For the price you can't beat it and the taste is what makes me come back for more. I've been here for years and I can say I am never disappointed with the service or their beautifully well marbled steak (Ribeye) @ $13. Thursday night [Steak night] P. S. They always bring in tons of domestic and international beers. And great selection of IPA's. Update: Some of my favorite moments in life have always been to hang out to this local bar. I always feel like family in here. Adam, Malhy, Joe will all definitely make it worth paying them a visit. And as always, Adam never disappoints with the out of Texas beers.

Google
Last night was my first time here and wow it did not disappoint. We’ve been bar hopping and this was the final stop for steak night. The 4 of us shared 2 steaks, which was a good choice! It was plentiful! Steaks were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I love picking at the mushrooms. So yum! The bar was quite full when we arrived but everyone seem like they were regular patrons. Pretty cool. The owners and his staff were really friendly as well. Had a chance to say hi and cool people. I especially liked the game played at the bar. Put $1 in the jar and roll 3 dices but it has to add up to 5! My first time, and hit it! Prize includes whatever is in the jar. Cool idea. They have different specials each night so hopefully I can come back another day and try their spaghetti night! Love me some good noods!

Yelp
Loved the dive bar atmosphere, bar tenders were nice, great service and welcoming. The steak night there was enjoyable, I am use to being let down at virtually every steak night in-town. I decided to give them a chance, and I was not disappointed. I would gladly recommend this steak night to any steak lover out there.

Yelp
Sooooo, I went there last week after knowing of this place for years. I was hungry, wanted some food, had to wait a bit. Patreons spoke highly of food. Claimed all the people were ,'chefs'...NOT POSSIBLE. But the food I was sooo hungry for was so mediocre and underwhelming, I didn't even eat it. It's a small bar, great for the neighborhood, convenient but food is a straight no. Now the patrons and atmosphere is great, welcoming, you feel like family. Wish I had of been coming there especially since I'm right across the street! I was only there for about 45 minutes but I can say this is an awesome hang out spot. A lot of regulars and bar tender was excellent. It's just the food for me unless you're drunk..lol

Yelp
Every time I've visited Three Sheets, I had nothing short of a great time. I love the ambience-very dive, the endless karaoke song list, and the bartenders are wonderful. This place is a gem.

Yelp
First of all great bar. I ordered food they only had country fried steak. Which is my favorite but I was expecting it to be the one I've ever had. It was flawless perfect and amazing. On some last meal type action. I meant to spell wasn't earlier. The taters gave gravy were impeccable perfect potion of black pepper. I want more the cook is a Savant.

Yelp
We had a great time we stopped there on my Birthdy everyone was friendly and great would go back there again enjoyed ourselves

Yelp
Looks can be deceiving and this place is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". This place looks pretty bad on the outside. The inside is quite comfortable and fun. The food is fantastic. You cannot beat the price. I spoke with a couple locals here and got to chat it up with the owner. The owner is a great guy and definitely know what he is doing. Thursday is steak night. I got a medium steak with baked potato for $12. They brought out a serving tray so I could load my baked potato with butter, sour cream, bacon, and cheese. I also ordered 3 drinks from here. I got the cinnamon toast crunch (shot), pecan pie moonshine (shot), and months later (cooktail made up by the bartender). All 3 drinks were wonderful and costed $12 all together. You have to visit this place if you come to Houston.

Yelp
This is my favorite neighbor bar. This place is a hidden gem. Located next to a laundry mat I drove by many years before I stopped in. I am glad I did good service and cheap drinks. Also the bartenders are super outgoing and friendly. You don't have to get fancy you can come as you are and enjoy yourself. They also serve food but I have never ate there. I got 9 drinks $52 you can't with a stick! If you are in the energy corridor swing by you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Three sheets isn't the kind of place where you go to pick up a date, it's the kind of place you go to find family. And if you want to date family, I'm not one to judge, so this place could be both. The bartenders learn your name early on, and know your order well enough to ask you if you're alright when you randomly order a scotch on the rocks. It's the kind of place you might not feel at home at first, because everybody knows everybody and you don't know anybody. But then, within a very short period of time, you start getting hugs when you walk in from people you didn't realize were family just a month before. It's a haven; where you don't feel judged and you don't feel pressure. Beyond that, the specials should not be ignored. If you see Adams pork belly fried rice, Ricky's lasagna or Joe's fried burritos, make a special trip; it's worth it. Some of the food is standard bar fare, but those specials are something else. I love this place and I'm so glad they welcomed me into the neighborhood and made it feel like home.

Yelp
So, this was the random spot K and I chose to stop and grab a beer around 5pm on a Saturday. The bar was mostly empty, save a few patrons hanging out and picking up food. The Nitty Gritty Ok, so I feel like I should be fair and rate this place for what it is, and the time of day we went. So, for a dive bar it looked fun. Darts, shuffle board, fun memorabilia, well broken and comfy chairs and couches, and a stage to put your drunken self on fell karaoke display. K specifically mentioned that she liked the chairs. We went in the early evening. That's an important because a dive bar during the day is way different than a dive bar at night. K and I will have to revisit during the late night hours to see how it is when it's hopping. The karaoke area looks like fun. Lastly, I want to mention the bartenders again, they were kind personable and made us feel at home. I'm sure our next visit will build on this one, but so far it's a dive bar I'd like to return to.

Yelp
Deep through the off-road venture of Kirkwood road lies a humble abyss with echoes of amateur karaoke and falling Jenga blocks. While the strip center itself boasts a TV repairman who exists solely to keep VHS players and tube TVs alive, and a dentist who surely can't be certified to perform medical procedures in the state of Texas, Three Sheets is the shining star of the block. Fresh out of a 7-year olds birthday party where white claw was our only choice of beverage, my date and I decided to witness what Houston Chronicle coined "Best Karaoke Bar in Houston". Once inside, bartenders are excitedly waiting to introduce themselves before offering you a welcoming lap dance. Now, I was a little bit let down that a crying stripper did not jump out of the cake after this offer, but was immediately distracted when a free shot was offered to me, that I assumed was the Bar Mat Special. I was pleasantly surprised when a glorious welcome shot was placed in front of me that had no remnants of last week's spillage. This welcoming gesture served the purpose of indoctrinating me and making me a part of the Three Sheets family. When one typically envisions a dive bar, the most basic of drink choices come to mind. Not here. Adam has worked to ensure that members of the family have access to all of the finest craft beers that Texas has to offer. Feeling basic? You got it. The White Claws are cold and ready to go. Speaking of White Claw, if you feel the need to see white girl wasted on stage screaming to Katy Perry's "Firework" at one a.m. you may want to head over here and take a front row seat next to me. If listening to tone deaf amateurs isn't quite your gig, have no fear. Drown out the sounds of "Friends in Low Places" with a game of darts or put yourself in a self induced rage with a game of shuffleboard. Still not satisfied? Bring your dirty laundry next door to the judgmental Vietnamese Family Washateria and enjoy a nice cold Moscow Mule. When the karaoke is silenced and the deep fried foot settles into your stomach as you await whatever aftermath awaits you after inhaling your wings, nachos and egg rolls at record speed, you will be left wondering if you owe Adam and Malhy a happy ending when you see that a night of bad decisions can still end with a tab that ensures you can still pay rent on the first.

Yelp
This place is not OPEN. What we saw when we drove up was a very dirty locked door, trash, etc.

Yelp
Wholesome local bar, relaxing and kind bartenders. Some fun games and easy going people in this area. Closes late which is amazing.

Yelp
Let me explain. Okay I like beer. I know that is a big understatement. So I found this place because my untappd app told me they had Odell myrcenary which is my favorite beer in the world. Now since the first two times I've been there they don't have mercenary anymore. Or any Odell products but keep it advertised in the front cooler so now that makes their selection no different from the average pub. FYI I like places that have different things than every other spot in town. That is one star lost for me. The food is average and forgettable. The staff are all very nice which gains them another star. Small space, karaoke on weekends. If you are over there, stop in and get a drink. Prices are about the same as Bull n Bear with less variety. Its not any different than your own neighborhood pub.

Yelp
Omg! What an amazing place!!!! A little skeptical at first but ...These guys are freaking awesome! Adam made lap dance shots to welcome newcomers to the bar. Rick was super sweet... had them cook food even though the kitchen closed at 12:00. Great staff, good food, fun atmosphere and people karaoke. Will definitely come back--- actually Adam invited us back to Korean spare rib night (Wednesday). I think I'm going to become a regular at this place.

Yelp
Gosh its Terrible looking from the parking lot and even worse looking inside ... with the reviews n pics i was thinking to find a hidden gem :0( ... ... Adam the bartender/manager was so sweet and kind that I hate to write a horrible review. 0 stars for the clientele who on a sat night were 6-7 ill kempt homeless looking men albeit quiet and respectful. Our fare was frozen fried cheesesticks n potstickers..... like youd maybe get at in an old cafeteria Drinks were delicious though. I had a martini... and music was 80s and 90s The ladies restroom collage i included is a fare representation of the establishment itself.... gosh

Yelp
This place isn't for everyone. I know some people who would find the place disgusting and I know others, like myself, who will like it for what it is. 100% dive bar. The bar and staff make this place. They know what they're doing and can make anything you throw at them. They have really good drink options with many craft beers and the prices are some of the best you're going to find in Houston. Because of the low prices this tends to bring in a younger crowd. This can make it rowdy at times but everyone pretty much minds their own business, as far as i've seen. Good place to start or end the night. HH is also good. The bathroom is a bit rough and there is only one. I think this is one reason some people will immediately dislike the place. Outside is not inviting at all and again I can see some people refusing to give it a chance. Overall I will say this is probably one of the best dive bars in Houston. My rating is on it being a dive bar. I would not recommend the place to everyone, and I cannot say any occasion is a good reason to go here. But if you wanna get away, drink cheap, and not have people judge you by what you're wearing, this is the place.
google avatar

Pamela J.

Yelp
Really awesome little dive bar. Great bartenders good quality people that genuinely like to interact with the patrons I wish it was a little closer to my home but they will always have my business. The wings are amazing also the prices are beyond reasonable.
google avatar

Johnathan P.

Yelp
Their atmosphere is extremely friendly and the bartenders remember your name after just one visit. Their steak night is really good. I highly recommend it. It's a small dive bar so it doesn't look super fancy or anything but once you're inside and get a feel for the atmosphere I am sure you'll be coming back.

Yelp
My wife and I have lived in this neighborhood for close to twenty years and have never given a thought about trying out Three Sheets. Fortunately, we've been reading through a book about datIng and decided to come here as a "new adventure" for our date night. Mind you, this is coming from someone who rarely goes to bars, but boy, are we glad we came! The interior is definitely divey but the service was so warm and friendly. We visited on Steak Night (Thursday) and just as so many other reviewers have mentioned, the steak was bomb. What an amazingly pleasant surprise! We'd definitely come again and would love to try out the specials on the other nights and perhaps stay late enough for karaoke as well.

Yelp
My friends invited me to this little spot. Parking is a little tight cause they share parking with other businesses. Place is a bit small but the crowd was fun. They had karaoke night. There was some interesting singers that came on stage. Server was very friendly and always checked up on us. So my brother tried to order some stuff on their menu. But she later came back and said they ran out. So she gave us some free dumplings cause they didn't have what he wanted. They do have bottle service. So we got a bottle of Hennessy for the 5 of us. But over all seem like a good spot to chill after a hard day work. There also couches there to lounge on too. Oh and Thursday they have steak night. My friend was telling me. So I'll be back to try it.

Yelp
We had a bad night in Houston and were brought here by our Uber driver and it turned the whole weekend around. The owners are such sweet people and made sure we had a great night. We will be going back here next time we are in Houston, very good vibes!

Yelp
Have been here a couple of times for food, drink, karaoke, and Astros! Really welcoming, fun atmosphere, and really friendly bartenders who can help make almost anything!

Yelp
While traveling to Houston for my Aunt's memorial my family decided to take a break and let loose. My husband loves karaoke and was excited to find this fantastic dive bar actually hosting karaoke. We enjoyed ourselves so much the first night we went back for round two the second night. This is a family owned bar. You will see the owners hustling about making drinks, cleaning surfaces and making sure their customers are well cared for. When we came back the second night they remembered us (we felt special)! Anyway, needless to say I brought truth to their name and the owners helped my husband get me to the uber and home safely. To the owners- thank you and I appreciate everything you did for me on Saturday night! If we are back in Houston we will see you again but I'll behave better!

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover! This bar is a fantastic local joint that I had the absolute pleasure to walk into. Great drink prices. The bar staff was insanely friendly and nice. They even put a hockey game on for us with sound. They have karaoke at night that sounds fun! Play the house dice game. $1 to play and you gotta roll exactly a 5. If you lose, the dollar goes in the jar. If you win, you win what's in the jar. That simple. Surrounding yourself with great people is the key to life and this bar does just that!

Yelp
I swear I'd written a review for this place some time last year. Well, I guess I'd just written it in my head or in my dreams or something. So here goes. Three sheets is REALLY a neighborhood bar. It's the kind of bar that you go to if you just want to relax, wind down, and talk to friendly people. It's not the kind of bar where you go to dress to impress and to pick up a boy or a girl (although I'm not saying that it couldn't happen.) The first time I came in here was obviously some time last year when I wanted to try their Thursday steak night. Unfortunately, they didn't have any left at the time. Well, this year, I decided to swing by here after I'd gone to Sherlock's for St. Patty's (Monday). I got in about 1 am in the morning. The place had plenty of people, but not packed. The owner, Adam, small talk with me and I asked him about the steak night. He said to just call in and reserve a steak if I ever wanted to come in and make sure that they'd still have a steak for me. The bar patrons and the bartender were all pretty cool. Even though it seemed like everybody knew everybody, I didn't feel like the new kid at school that nobody wanted to play with. I felt really welcomed. I came back that Thursday for my ribeye steak. No, I didn't call because I came in pretty early and I was sure that they'd still have some steak left. They did. And when I came in, Adam actually remembered my name and greeted me by my name. For someone who can't remember another person's name that he'd just met 15 minutes ago, that was impressive to me. Anyway, I ordered the steak, ordered a drink and just chilled there. The steak came out not too long after. It came with a baked potato and you could get the toppings from a tray buffet style. They just put the tray with the sour cream, chives, bacon bits, etc on the tray and you take as much or as little toppings that you want. Pretty cool. As for the steak, it was pretty legit! I mean, for $12 you can't really expect a prime steak quality or even Angus steak quality. But taste wise, LEGIT. The only downside to the steak was there was too much fat on the meat. I wish those fat was actually more meat. Regardless, still legit for $12. Especially if you're eating it accompanied by the background of people singing karaoke terribly. They also serve other kinds of food here. Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich) and what not. I don't remember what's everything they listed on the menu, but I intend to try some of them in the near future. The bar itself is pretty good sized. They have a patio on the outside, plenty seating inside, and it was pretty clean. And a full bar, obviously. If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood bar that's kind of like Cheers, the TV show where everybody knows your name with reasonably priced drinks, a cool owner, friendly people, good food, good vibe, then this is the place to go.

Yelp
Its a little hole in the wall but it's nice for a quiet drink now and then. The bartender Joe is pretty friendly. Wish the music was louder than it normally is.

Yelp
I had a blast!! Just left there with my crew and we sang Karaoke and drank all night! We also played the massive Jenga that they have at the door. Drinks are cheap and service is great, I would give and extra star if they had Ciroc and a cleaner bathroom. We will be back!
google avatar

Ashley Y.

Yelp
Yes this is still one of my favorite neighborhood bar in Houston. They serve great drinks with very good price. The bartender was always nice and attentive. There are some games you can play here as well. The interior is not fancy and some of the chairs were kinda old...., but this is still a must go bar when I craving for a quick drink and don't want to spend too much money.
google avatar

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar! I've driven by this location for years and always wondered why there were so many cars outside. I finally came last night and found out that is place is exactly like other yelpers describe: -Adam is a great bartender -Drinks are dirt cheap, seriously! -Area not so good, shopping center is run down, warm and welcoming on the inside -Come as you are type of place This is a small hole in the wall bar so don't expect the Sherlock's type atmosphere but that isn't necessarily a bad thing! Looking forward to coming back on a Thursday night.

Yelp
I love this place! The bartenders are awesome, drinks are good, chill crowd of mostly grown folks...no stupid young folks (huge plus). They have karaoke on Saturday nights, but I think they have it other nights. Steak night on Thursdays is the ish!!!!! I enjoy places like this that are low key but popular with banging food, drinks, and bartenders.

Daniel G.

Yelp
Best bar ever. No drama. Good mix of all sorts of people. Great food and cheap drinks. What more can you ask for?
google avatar

Dulce R.

Yelp
Omg first time here and Loving it! We got lucky and came on steak night, delicious. Juice, actually medium rare like we like it and the flavor, yum! First timers get a free shot of their "lapdance" too sweet for me but my hubs loved it. They have karaoke Thursday-sunday starting at 9:30. They have from craft beer, to domestic, different kind of liquor..even sake! I love the randomness of people here, it's such a melting pot! Definitely coming back!!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
For a dive bar, 5 solid stars! Steak night Thursday did not disappoint. Not overwhelming but a great value for $12 a dish. Friendly staff made it fun and the unpretentious atmosphere made it comfortable. Darts, tVs and a local vibe. I will be back.

Yelp
Good prices, great food, great staff and the patrons are all very friendly. Thursday Steak Nite is good choice! Always a good time at this place

Yelp
Just one of those nice bars around the corner! It's a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal with some local friendly.

Yelp
Classic dive bar in a strip mall...Cheap and Cheerful with Friendly bartenders, Cheap Beer and decent tacos...for only buck fifty on Tuesday's! Tough to beat. Definitely not the finest of bars in Houston but still enjoyable!

Yelp
I love three sheets!!! My cousin introduced me to this spot a few years ago. I haven't been since 2016 but I'd love to return. It was always a good time there. Everyone working there was so welcoming and fun. Even the people going there at the time were cool. It was easy to get to know people. I literally knew every regular there as I became one. I think I shall visit again since everything has opened up.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me to this bar that he was introduced by his high school friends. And since then he loves this place and I do too now also Adam the owner is such a super cool guy talks to you and knows how to makes drinks. I'm super picky about my drinks but he knows what I love. The environment is super chill and cozy Perfect! Drinks are on the right price for my wallet.

Yelp
This is my watering hole as I live 5 minutes away from this establishment. I remember the first time I finally venture into this place as it looks like a shady bar given the location looks a bit run down. But once you're inside, you can feel the divey / neighborhood bar feel to it. I have been here for many occasions but this bar is definitely known for their steak night and the karaoke nights. The karaoke is pretty much every weekend starting Thursday, which is also their steak night. For $12, you get a nice ribeye and a baked potato. The toppings for the baked potato is on the side as it will be used from a communion bowl. This bar is definitely known for the karaoke because the back area of the bar has a great stage setup along with TV monitors for the lyric display. The drink price is really good and they would have specials every day of the week. One of their special shot is called Lap Dance, it's definitely a good shot for men and women alike. What I like about this place is that the crowd is very diverse for a suburb neighborhood bar. You have a great mixed of various age, gender, and race where everyone are just here to have a good time. The bartenders are great gals too and the owner, Adam, a good man to know in this life time. They also have a giant Jenga right at the front door area and people are welcome to play it. Of course, it would cause some noise that would scare the bar crowd from time to time. There's also a front patio for smokers to smoke and drink. If you live anywhere 5 to 10 minutes from this place, you should definitely come and check out this bar and possibly make this your new watering hole because this is definitely a hidden gem in the suburbia Houston.

Yelp
One of the best steak night to come to on a Thursday Night. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our group of friends came from hobby airport area just to eat at this place. I highly recommend!!

Yelp
First time visit based on all of the great reviews here. Total dive bar with no heat (not normally an issue in Houston, but it was 32 outside this rare day!) but they sell very reasonably priced "antifreeze" here. Solid drinks with some interesting beer choices, simple but yummy bar food (menu is changing in near future, looked great when I got a sneak peak) and extremely attentive staff who worked hard to make me feel like a regular amongst a crowd of VERY regular patrons. I was here for the whole afternoon into the night and watched the place go from sports focused to karaoke seamlessly and never saw anyone not having fun. Looking forward to my next visit. Update: have quickly become a semi-regular since that first visit. Thursday steak night, trivia on Wednesday, and some very forgiving (and often awesome) karaoke Thur-Sat all combine to crate a fun place to hang out. If Houston truly is the most diverse city in the US, Three Sheets is the crossroads that illustrates it best. Hats off to Adam and Malhy and the rest of the team for creating such a special place.
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
Yeah it's kind of sketchy on the outside but....eh...whatever!! I brought my boyfriend here to meet up with some friends and even he was a little scared but it's not that bad looking on the inside!! Adam is great! He's super friendly and gives you a free shooter called "Lapdance" when it's your first time in. He'll sing karaoke with you and check up on you regularly to make sure everything is going great. The people here are friendly and it's not hard to mingle here. Definitely a dive bar, not a dress to impress place, and the drinks are good and cheap!!!

Yelp
After seeing all the glorious reviews from Anthony N's post UYE I had to trek out to the westside to see this place for myself. It's a dive by all definitions. But that's what makes it so wonderful. The westside has a spot they can just come to and relax. They have a small patio area out front and once you enter there are a few more tables and plenty of counter space. They have a variety of bar food items along with some asian food dishes, as they had banh mi. They also put together a daily special, on this day it was stew, which was quite good. The drink specials were great and dirt cheap. It looks like they have karaoke on certain nights and I could see how this place could really be rocking.

Yelp
On a trip to Houston, I yelped this bar to meet my old college girlfriends for some fun loving karaoke. When we pulled up to the bar, I got a text from one who followed me in her car saying "This bar looks sketchy as hell!!" I replied "give it a chance.. Yelp says it's almost 5 stars.." She was on the money though with the exterior. It's located next to a washateria, and only Three Sheets is illuminated next to it, which makes you think it's a cleaners attached to the washateria. As soon as we walked in, the people are the bar (patrons) greeted us. I was blown away. They suggested food items, and were very friendly. We met Adam when he brought us the food (potstickers and nachos, later egg rolls) and he brought us his famous lap dance shot. We were hooked after meeting him. His personality sells the place and makes everyone feel like besties for a night. The beer was cheap, the karaoke was excellent (thurs - sat), and we made new friends just by saying hello. Everyone had a killer time here and I will definitely come back on my trips back to visit my parents. :)

Yelp
Anthony N. fatefully lead us here post a UYE at Loving Hut and all I can say is, bless that Anthony! I guess we were all feeling a little adventurous after the vegan feasting (even me, as a vegan . . .?) so we headed to this neighborhood bar neighboring a laundromat. To be honest, I was quite apprehensive about this place at first. It kind of felt like an "only regulars" kind of place. I can be twitchy about trying new bars outside my comfort zone (Montrose and Midtown), so I kind of hung back while Anthony cheerfully greeted the owners. After we notified the bartender/co-owner(?) that we were newcomers, he did what any respectably generous bartender would do - hooked us up with some fruity delicious shots to take the edge off. And that's all it took for me to fall in love with Three Sheets. Okay well, that's simplifying. The staff here was awesome, like really. So warm and friendly, engaging and hugely proficient with shelling out decent inexpensively-priced drinks with a mere nod of your head. The patrons were similarly in good spirits. That sort of thing is infectious for me so can you believe it, I actually mustered up the guts to karaoke after Nigel M. finished his number. That happens like once every two or so years - really! That's how at-ease I felt after an hour in this strange land with strangers. I don't care how cheesy this sounds, but I totally felt at home here. Everyone was just so goshdarn friendly and nice. *warm fuzzies* Three Sheets offers a different themed entree every day of the week and I've heard nothing but raves from participating patrons. So I can't say I frequent this part of Houston too often, but I seriously will consider heading back to Three Sheets the next time happen to be nearby. Love!

Yelp
Rough and lambasted exterior when viewed from the road, like a place where people in paint splattered holey shirts, drinking tall boys straight from the can and starting fights from what ever dive bar brawls start with. Yet at the same time, it reminds me of a haunted house that need exploring. Plus the reviews on yelp has been good. Which means to gather a few friends, work out the ground rules of exploration: 1. Would the area yield quick police response times? 2. Put on your worst T shirt, and leave the slacks and sweater at home. 3. Safe word for the "escape" and possibly nick names. 4. Dont make any direct eye contact. But stepping in to the rabbit hole leaves a fresh outlook(Yelp's right for once!). It's so disarming that you feel like you been here all along, and there's no reason to leave. Maybe it's the foods, staff or the music, and this could be a second home. There is even bonus original drinks and the evil Golden T game. Food: Pot Sticker/Dumplings: 4 per order, cool sauce. B+ Steak(picture) and potato: Steaks the size of a spare tire, leaving barely room for the potato on the plate. Comes in any way you want it, with all the dressings and cheap! A Chex Mix bowl looking thing with Chicharone- It's like Robin to the Batman(Beer). A After a ten or fifteen minutes, Three Sheets start to feels like your buddy's house without the nagging girl friend. There just needs a few more couches thrown about, as the back couches were already taken like being late to a college house party. Journey, Blue oyster Cult splashing in the back ground, as this place just flows smoothly on cruise control. All's well here unless you make the mistake of drinking the Jack & coke slushies too quick.

Yelp
I am here to point out the obvious missed detail in every one of these reviews! The crowd! For the Women: Want someone HOT, whose quick w his hands;) as ur Bartender? ( I found where he's been hiding!) Wednesdays and Saturday nights...(his name is Travis) My GOD (thats all i've gotta say), AND! and he pays attention to detail-always ready to fill me up for more by my last sip, my kind of man;) For the Men: I've seen some hott women pop in this place! Brazilian, Colombians, and of course the classic white-gotta love the array of possibilities all in one spot. ;) This is a bar where u could DEF show up alone for an "after work drop-by" drink,as a couple, or even as a group and STILL manage to have enough space to be left alone w a drink and a marathon conversation (b/c the music doesn't suck in the ENTIRE ambiance of this place-which is nice!), or mingle w others over a game of darts, karaoke -some nights, or even the dance wii system they have in the corner will provide a fun-filled evening. For the smokers, they have a good size patio out front thats never neglected by staff, and a HUGE Golden Tee and even a Mega Touch machine at the end of the bar for the ocassional obsessive game player. I HEAR ( b/c i have only came in there for the margaritas, lap dance shots, bartender, and dart games, i haven't "personally" ate the food) but i hear, its pretty good and not the typical "fried bar food". Steak nights are Wednesday; good place to head out to for a cheap home-cooked dinner if u ask me. As for the place itself: A hidden gem! When they talk about a hole in the wall place to go to, that only the locals would know about where it's at, THIS is it!

Yelp
So I showed up here on a Friday about 3 weeks ago, just to have a few beers and relax. They ended up telling me that next time I come back, I should come on a Thursday because they "said" they had the best steak in Houston. Yesterday I showed up for this so called great steak and ket me tell ya. Hands down the best steak I believe I have ever had. I thought I could marinate a steak... wrong.. I need the recipe for that marinade. Thanks guys. Enjoyed it and I'll be back for sure.
