Yelp
Absolutely the most expensive meal I have ever purchased, considering the price and how much food I actually swallowed. And I was hungry! First food I had in the last 10 hours driving in from Big Springs, Texas.
May 13, 2024. I ordered the $36.99 New York Strip. Maybe my mistake because I ordered it rare ????
It came with a nice wedge of iceberg lettuce (cheap appetizer) and wonderful blue cheese dressing, right off the Sysco truck. I ordered more dressing, like maybe 2 more plastic half filled tablespoon volume containers??? That's another tablespoon of Sysco Blue Cheese dressing. Oh... I think maybe they were horrified.
Then the steak... it was so full of gristle ....... all I could do is try various parts of it, then spit it out into the now empty plastic blue cheese dressing containers. The ice cream scoop (literally) of potato salad was disgusting, and the vegetables were swimming in some gross sea of brown goo that was obviously just a bunch of fatty 'something'. I hate to hear what it was. Not even close to the pictures Three Sisters in Colorado City posted online how you will get simple fresh vegetables. This was more like "take a pack out of the freezer, warm it in the microwave and throw some the butter basting oils we used to baste this steak. Smash it all down and put it back in a pan of steak grease and serve it on the plate". It was like the difference between expecting fresh corn, and you get served Kuner's canned cream corn with leftover fatty goo.... room temperature. Ot even warm. Barf!!
Embarrassing for his restaurant I'm sure, or at least I hope they are embarrassed!
I would have made a big stink about my WHOLE meal if I wasn't there with my best friend from high school who lives in Colorado City and knows the owners.
I literally never swallowed any of the steak, and had 4 mouthfuls of grisly steak I didn't swallow in those tiny plastic blue cheese dressing containers.
I did tell our server I wanted an adjustment to my bill, so she gave me credit for my draft beer and reduced the bill another $5.
After tax and a 20% tip (not the server's fault, this was all kitchen and management's fault) .... I paid over $40 for some iceberg lettuce, blue cheese dressing and a draft beer.
Like I said before, I would have made a big stink over this crappy meal were it not for the fact I was there with a long time friend who was a regular at Three Sisters in Colorado City, Colorado.
Getting a $37 steak that is inedible is disappointing.
Getting 20% off on my meal I didn't eat is DISGUSTING!!. They just didn't care that much.. That's my biggest complaint. Bad food... whatever. Not caring more than 20% that I got bad food.. unacceptable.
No pictures because I did not want to embarrass my friend from 55 years ago in high school. But, I would have a bunch of pictures if I was there trying to eat this crappy food without regard to embarrassing anybody other than the staff at Three Sisters in Colorado City.
I gave a reasonable score for service because our server was very nice to us. I gave a high score to the atmosphere because the bathroom was clean. I gave the very lowest score for the food because it fully deserved it. A $37 steak I never swallowed a bite from.... Deserves the lowest score I can give it. At least it wasn't raw chicken that might get me sick just by tasting it.
