Three Uncles Is a New Cantonese Roast Meat Spot Near Liverpool Street | Eater London

"Opening on Devonshire Row near Liverpool Street station, this debut Cantonese roast-meat and dim sum spot from friends Cheong Yew, Put Sing Tsang and Mo Kwok channels the siu mei culture they grew up with in 1970s Hong Kong. The menu centers on siu mei — crispy roast pork belly (siu yuk), barbecued pork collar (char siu) and lacquered roast duck with shatteringly crisp skin — prepared using a classic 48-hour, six-step technique (marinate on the inside, rub on the outside, fan-dry, roast, rest and serve) and techniques passed down by experienced Hong Kong shifù. All meat is sourced from Ireland’s Silverhill Farm for optimal flavour and fat balance, and the marinades are highly complex (17 elements for duck, 14 for siu yuk, 12 for char siu). Beyond roast meats the menu includes Hainan chicken rice, lo mein, a selection of dim sum and fresh juices (for example pineapple flavored with cinnamon and star anise), while flavourful sauces, chilies and well-cooked rice are emphasized as integral to the Cantonese experience. The team aims to bring traditional, chopped-to-order siu mei out of Chinatown and make it readily available to London diners." - Adam Coghlan

Portion sizes were small for the price — we ordered three dishes for two people and I was still quite hungry after. Food tasted fine overall, but you can get better value elsewhere. Service was good — they frequently refilled our water.

Ended up here for lunch coincidentally but couldn't have been any happier. Once you enter you think of a hawker stall inspired set-up. Minimalistic but with a lot of charm. Seats a few people (approx. 10ish), dishes come in to go containers. I love the fact that the menu is quite small - this way they can guarantee and ensure a high quality. Everyone of us chose different dishes and I couldn't have been happier with my two meat combo. Amazing Hainanese Chicken and potentially an even better version of a crispy pork belly. The crisp of the pork belly was phenomenal. Everything tasted super fresh and superb. If I lived close by, I would come by every so often. Nice and helpful staff.

Good Chinese food - we had the char siu pork and the hainese chicken on a bed of rice and it was both delicious and filling. It's not licenced, which helps keep the cost down. Just good food, quickly served.

I have easily ordered 500+ times from Three Uncles. Having grown up in Asia, this is the only thing in London that comes close to replicating proper Asian food. Cheap, affordable, and authentic. Will come here for many more times in the future.

Amazing food! Loved it and will definitely come back. I had the combo of crispy pork belly and duck with rice. We all also ordered a side of dim sum to share. The pork and prawn sui mai and the chilli oil wontons were particularly delicious. Staff were nice and food was ready in minutes. Great portion sizes too. I will be returning!

i love this place. big meaty portions grilled to perfection with rice and veggies. some mild sweet sauce is included too. lots of other choices on the menu but i really recommend the pork - normal roasted + the belly - with rice. so so good. great for eat in or takeaway

My mum and I went to St Pauls Three Uncle and everything from the service to the food was amazing! the lady who ran the shop was so kind, and served us with a smile. the food tasted so good, was very hot, with tones of flavour. i got crispy pork belly with rice, my mum got the 2 meat (duck and crispy pork). was so tasty, will 100% come back, and will recommend to my friends

The most delicious food I have ever eaten. The duck and beef is extremely tasty, fresh and moist and the noodles and Hong Kong chilli oil are amazing. The service is quick and also the food is really authentic. Better than what I've eaten in China. I could eat here every day. The food is much much better than Hakkasan or China Tang. Thank you for existing!
