"Barclays Center has a stand dedicated to craft beer brewed in New York, but you’ll have to pay some big Barclays bucks for it. Luckily, there are great breweries in the area where you can pregame and save some money. Threes Brewing is a short walk away and has a big backyard that’s one of the better places in Brooklyn for a large group hang. There’s also food here from Grand Army, and if beer isn’t your thing, there’s plenty of wine and liquor as well. If Threes is crowded or closed for a private event, there’s also Wild East, Strong Rope, and Finback Brewery." - willa moore, will hartman, bryan kim, neha talreja, hannah albertine
"The sleek, white modern space lined with glass, steel and leather-cushioned booths is a great place to try one of the two dozen house-brewed craft beers or a diverse selection of wines and spirits. Besides the drinks, the beer hall hosts a rotating guest list of local chefs and restaurants in residence, from Roberta's Pizza to Delaney's BBQ and more. They also host music and events in a back room." - Hyperakt
"This Park Slope brewery's big, gravel-filled backyard is one of the better places in Brooklyn for a daytime situation with 18 friends who collectively are responsible for nine babies. Focus on lagers here. Threes does crisp, snappy beers very well. They also serve food from Grand Army South (their Greenpoint outpost has food from Gotham Burger Social Club). And if beer isn’t your thing, you can get wine or a cocktail." - molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, willa moore, will hartman, neha talreja
"Over the past few months, breweries across the country have donated 10% of the proceeds of their People Power Beer pack to the ACLU. The initiative was started by the team at Threes Brewing, and there are over a dozen NYC-based breweries participating (like Bronx Brewery, Evil Twin, Coney Island Brewery, KCBC, and more). You can find all of the participating breweries and learn more information here." - hannah albertine
"This brewery in Gowanus has a large bar, a big backyard, and a room called Tiny Montgomery for private events that fits 75. It’s a good spot for just about anything from a mellow birthday dinner to a dance party with a banjo player. And, in case you were wondering, they serve more than just beer. They have wine, liquor, and food as well. If the weather is nice, you can rent out the entire backyard for 150 people." - will hartman, bryan kim, neha talreja
