14 Denver Coffee Shops With Free Wifi | Eater Denver

"Located in the heart of Cap Hill, Thump is always full of people working away on their laptops. This is probably because it serves up excellent coffee and snacks, is chock full of power outlets, and provides good people watching when you allow your mind to wander from work for a moment." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Edit: Second visit wasn’t as pleasant as the first unfortunately. I tried the “drip coffee” and it tasted pretty stale. In addition to this, the cup and lid were not fitted properly so the entire coffee just dripped out of the lid to the - I couldn’t drink it or even attempt to in my way to the airport. I’ve attached a picture but this is after attaching and reattaching it in an effort to remedy the issue. Something to consider when you have folks going to work, we shouldn’t be wearing our stale coffee in the process. 1st visit: Walked her as a first-timer for a first of the day coffee and it didn’t disappoint. Got an iced mocha latte. General: Patient and friendly staff, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. I think the chatter at the register could be fixed when you have a line out the door. I noticed folks talking a lot at register creating longer service times- wild when you have 5+ people in line to grab coffee before a work day imo-I’m also a New Yorker and used to a different speed and efficiency. No breakfast food offered before 7:30 am was also tough, the area didn’t have many food choices and there wasn’t an option beyond pastries at the hour my day started despite this place opening very early. Joined the rewards club and will definitely come back when I visit the area.

I went into Thump coffee on a Friday afternoon to work for about 2 hours. I tried their lavender latte and absolutely loved it! The staff was great, I ended asking for extra pumps of lavender for a stronger taste and they were happy to accommodate that. High speed wifi, lots of places to sit and work at communal seating areas. On Downing and E 13th Ave. Highly recommend this coffee shop!

Really good iced matcha. Lots of people come to work there so it is very quiet and peaceful in case you want some down time. They also sell coffee (beans and grounded).

Google
Spacious modern vibe coffee shop with the best local coffee and fun pastries. Many people come here to work remotely. We tried dry cappuccino and cappuccino with Korean chili, nori, &hot honey croissant. The best fragrant coffee I ever had in Denver. Highly recommend this coffee shop.

Google
always a lovely time! usually get an oat cortado or a cold brew & sit for a while to work & enjoy the atmosphere. thump has delicious coffee, but perhaps more meaningfully serves as a beautiful and important gathering space for cap hill’s people

Google
Super cute coffee house! I got an egg sandwich to split with my little boy and it was so delicious. My latte was very good as well. Service was friendly and swift. Clean restrooms. Overall lovely shop that I will come back to when in the area.

Google
Matcha latte was good. It was quite calm because everyone was working on their laptop.

Google
Thump Coffee is a neighborhood cafe in Capitol Hill. I visited it three times, once meeting up with a friend and twice by myself. Service was average, coffee was okay to good, nothing phenomenal. I also noticed the breakfast and brunch food menu, but didn't get the chance to try anything. Thump is a spacious and relaxing space that has a little bit of rustic charm. There are plenty of seating options, including communal tables and window side bar space for people who want to work from the cafe. Additionally, there are several outdoor tables available for customers who prefer to enjoy their coffee in the fresh air.

Yelp
Thump Coffee delivers a quality caffeine fix with consistently good espresso drinks. Their oat milk latte is perfectly balanced, and the beans clearly taste fresh. Love the modern, airy space - great for remote work or casual meetups.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday mid-morning. Was very crowded with people working but there were a handful of seats still available. Ordered an iced americano and granola bowl. Both were great. Free WiFi with no password required and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of the best coffee places I've found in Denver! Just a classically yummy latte, no mistakes or bad flavors. You can tell that the espresso shot was pulled correctly and perfectly. This place is busy, line was out the door! Employees were cool!

Yelp
First time at Thump! I had heard about this place a while back, with someone telling me that it was very hipster. I parked on the street and found a parking spot pretty easily on a Saturday morning. Coffee was delicious and beautiful, no complaints! The line and service was pretty fast as well. This spot definitely got busy and filled up pretty quickly but there were a few open tables and I didn't have any issue finding a place to sit when I came in. I had a good first experience here! Would confirm the hipster feel, but I also really enjoyed the wooden tables, and the space was larger than I had imagined driving by.

Yelp
Consistently good oat milk latte. Thump has a variety of delicious pastries and coffee available and it makes for a good coffee shop to visit. They also have home made syrups you can add to your drinks if that is your thing. It can get pretty busy and hard to find a seat especially mid day as it looks like a popular place to get some work done. They also have a small patio available which makes for a good spot to chat when lots of people are getting work done inside. Parking can be difficult on 13th but if you go into any of the cross streets it isn't too hard to find a space.

Yelp
Stopped at this coffee shop & ordered the Avocado Schiacciato & a hot chocolate. The drink was displaced beautifully! I'm usually a die-hard avocado toast fan, but the chili sauce was a bit much for me. I think it would fit other people's taste preference-just not for me. The menu is a bit limited mainly just serving coffee & bagel sandwiches. It's great for a quick treat, but probably not the best stop for a meal. There's a park nearby, so it's perfect to grab a drink & take a stroll!

Yelp
Stopped by to work for the morning. This is a pretty nice coffee shop with plenty of seating. If you're needing an outlet your best bet is the window counter, which is nice on a sunny day. I got a Korean chili, nori, & hot honey croissant + honey latte. The croissant was flaky with plenty of layers. In between the layers you could get the heat from the chili and the balanced sweet of the honey. It paired really well with the honey latte, which I asked for half-sweet and it delivered. Overall a great little place to crank out a couple hours of work!

Yelp
Talk about a popular stop! This coffee shop is a hot spot for remote workers. Large community table after large community table will be filled with workers. Thump has a fun, young buzz! Expect all the coffee shop options, great service, fun bathrooms, and wonderful afternoon sun. It sounds weird to include but when the weather is nice, the patio is dreamy and warm. I enjoy sitting here, taking in the vibrant energy, watching the world bustle by.

Yelp
So while I didn't try their coffee, (I am doing a sad thing where I'm not drinking coffee in the afternoon so I sleep at night, which is great and horrible all at once) the staff were incredibly friendly and looked like they knew what they were doing. The coffees they were making smelled amazing. The pastries were outstanding, particularly like the pain au chocolate, which I often pretty disappointing, depending on where you get it. Thump did not disappoint. Their plain croissant was also really good too. Personally, I think a plain croissant is the measure of a really the good pastry shop. I'll definitely be back, hopefully when I'm cheating and having a second coffee, and maybe to study or work because it seemed like a good place for that if you can concentrate in a lively-ish space.

Yelp
Easy street parking right out front. Vanilla latte was a little too sweet. Orange cranberry muffin was delightful.

Yelp
Don't let the long lines put you off! It's worth the wait. I stopped by today to try this spot and while the line was very long, they moved through it so quickly. My barista made my coffee at lightening speed and it was delish! I ordered the green eggs and ham (the green is just pesto y'all) on a traditional bagel. It was super tasty. There is a decent amount of seating available and I could see this being a good spot to work remotely. I will be back soon to try some more items on the menu.

Yelp
Cute spot with free wifi there were people working and just hanging out. Lots of seating. Came for a light breakfast and coffee. Bagels were different than other types I've had - more of a focaccia style bread was very large & yummy! Coffee was great and food came out quickly
google avatar

Jesus G.

Yelp
Modern coffee shop with aesthetic dishes. If that's your cup of tea, then this is the place for you! Priced accordingly and the coffee won disappoint.
google avatar

Jada S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Clean, calm, and nonchalant. About 3 people on staff during the weekday hours, and were cool! I ordered avocado toast, which was as tasty as it could've been; I like that they add butter on bread, nice touch. The Wi-Fi did stop connecting me and was a pain to connect to over and over as I stayed throughout my visit. Would visit again if the Wi-Fi was just a glitch.

Yelp
Pluses: Pleasant staff, decent coffee, easy parking. Their menu looked interesting (pastries as well as sandwiches and brunch), and the food I did see looked appetizing. Food item prices were reasonable. Not so great: 1. Not a great place to work. By design, the available power outlets are by two glass windows on a corner. There is bar-style seating with very very narrow work-space. It is a struggle to find a place for your elbows, and a macbook air (13") fits with only a few inches to spare. You will be uncomfortable if you want to work while charging your device(s). Also, since you are facing the windows, there is a lot of light (generally a good thing) which makes it difficult to see what is on your screen. Eyestrain! Note: there is more comfortable seating at communal tables. None of them have power. 2. The music was annoying to me. This is subjective, so just calling it out for those who may not enjoy heavy-metal/grunge/hard-rock. It could also be true only for the few hours I was working here.

Yelp
I had a cappuccino and chocolate chip cookie. The cap was a little wetter than I like, but think it was my issue not the barista since I didn't indicate my fondness for dry caps. The cookie was great. They bake much of their food onsite. The bagels look amazing but I had to pass due to an upcoming lunch date. The vibe here is cool and just know there is an 'h' in the name, not an 'r'

Yelp
Super cute little coffee shop located a few blocks from Denver Botanic Gardens. We stopped by a couple times for a caffeine booster and each time was warmly greeted by the baristas. Good coffee and a good place to work in your computer, too.
google avatar

Val S.

Yelp
Their drip coffee was very blonde. Not my personal taste. My son said the ice coffee was very good.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
I've come here a couple times throughout the past two years. It's your average, local coffee shop! Friendly service and stellar ambiance to get some work done or converse with a friend, but nothing to write home about. I tried their Bacon, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich on an Everything Bagel...I could've prepared this for myself at home for a bit more flavor and I anticipated the eggs being prepared slightly differently. Still thankful for the kind and welcoming service, though!
google avatar

Nunya B.

Yelp
Pros: Great staff, great location, great atmosphere. Cons: Please offer another roast option besides light roast, light roast just tastes weird. The eggs you guys use for your sandwiches is kinda gross, it's like eating a little square yellow gym mat. Clearly it's being made ahead of time in bulk...and almost tastes like it came from a jug or powdered eggs. For the price... you guys can crack and egg or two and stick it in a microwave (at least)

Yelp
You know how a lot of places over do the pumps of syrup in flavored coffees? Not Thump. Not at all. Their lattes are absolute perfection. Their muffins are amazing too. Lots of room to work and Wifi too. Really great spot.
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
Thump is a place that all Colorado coffee aficionados must visit at least once. Go to Thump if you're looking for good quality espresso, friendly service, and a pleasant ambiance. I do have to agree with other reviewers who warn that the lines can get long and there is little seating in the crowded coffee shop. I also have to agree that the service is often quick. Note though that there isn't much in the way of food for people with allergies. I usually bring my own safe snacks when I come here.

Zach S.

Yelp
Good breakfast, fast WiFi, and cozy vibes. Sat at the corner window and enjoyed a snowy day with book. No issues and recommend it.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Ok staff. The girl who checked me out seemed to have a small attitude that I was coming in 50 mins before close. The tables were crammed together and made it hard to work. No outlets are available as well at the tables. It's like they don't really want you there. I suggest taking your drink to go and not coming in.
google avatar

Gianna M.

Yelp
Thump is way airier and roomier inside than you might expect from its tiny corner facade and they make good use of the space to accommodate lots of remote workers (though outlets seemed hard to come by for most of the seating). The dirty chai I had was.. fine. The chai was almost entirely taken over by the espresso which was kind of a bummer. Perhaps a spicier chai blend would hold up better in that particular drink. The patrons at Thump seemed to be comprised of Denver's most hip and fashionable so maybe I'm missing something, but it's not a new favorite for me.
google avatar

Drizzy G.

Yelp
Thump has great coffee, bakery good and breakfast bites! If you're anywhere Denver metro, skip the "commercial coffee" and give this place a go! There's plenty of open space for meeting with friends, working, or just hanging out, and the people that work there are friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Tiffani K.

Yelp
Such a great place. No wait at all, great service, good prices. I came in from out of state and the barista sat and talked with me as I waited for my coffee. Everyone was super nice and it was such a good environment. Will definitely visit every time i'm in Colorado!

Hallie S.

Yelp
I come here solely for Paige's amazing matcha and beautiful face! They are the best!!!
google avatar

Harmony M.

Yelp
10/10 recommend! Story time: My fiancé and I were waiting in line for A BeachHouse concert. We were in line over 7 hours before the show started- aka Super Fans! While we were chilling with the rest of the super fan crew, a nice couple mentioned that they work at Thump! We love checking out new coffee shops so we decided to hang there our last day in Denver. It was so cute but also really poppin'. I think almost all the tables were filled with people in meetings, studying, or chatting. I got a chai tea latte and it tasted like heaven!

Jessica T.

Yelp
Docking a star because their hot drinks are served so burning hot that I can't take a sip for at least 15 minutes. Their matcha is painfully watered down. However, its my local coffee shop and I must take it for what it is.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
Very good coffee and really decent food! The coffee shop dining room is usually crowded but you can usually find a seat. The staff is polite and friendly.
google avatar

Kati T.

Yelp
My enthusiasm about this place dropped off considerably once they made it feel shameful to come here to get work done.
google avatar

Joe H.

Yelp
Loved the vibe. Cortado was beautifully done. Would be a great place to get work done as well.

Dennis S.

Yelp
Very tasty coffee. I asked for it extra hot and they actually followed through on the request. My wife also liked her matcha. Highly recommended it.

Tony G.

Yelp
My partner and I frequent thump a lot! We love that they are always friendly and fast. The white chocolate mocha friggin' hits. Some things to note: there are no outlets which is tough when you have a short battery on your laptop and it can be a really noisy atmosphere. overall this is our go to coffee shop in cap hill!
google avatar

Gen B.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Yep, it's crowded with people seated inside, as others have noted. Cute, minimalist interior (I'm a fan of the succulent windowsill) with friendly staff, but the service was slow and the coffee was mediocre -- especially at the price point. It took 10 minutes to get a latte and an Americano to go, with one person ahead of us in line.
google avatar

Madi H.

Yelp
I didn't stick around for long, unfortunately, but the coffee was delicious. There is a good amount of space inside, which is great for people wanting to work or chat here for a while. The workers were so sweet, too. I'd love to come back to spend more time here.

Mo F.

Yelp
My VRBO was within walking distance so I stopped by for a cappuccino. Friendly service, great coffee, and delicious peanut butter cookie! Also, they open early which is really nice.
google avatar

Pim Y.

Yelp
Thump is clearly a popular work spot, having been there each time I visit Denver and finding myself amongst a crowd. However, layout and seating make it feel comfortable enough! Wifi is super fast and coffee is tasty, consistent. Their toasts are also delicious and decent portion for the price! Interior with dark wood is super cozy, which I always love. Service is fast and friendly. All-in-all Thump is everything you'd want from a coffeeshop to do work at. The only downside I can see is that it gets quite loud, so bring some earbuds.
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Only good things to say about the food and the coffee. Always great. I usually get the avocado, cheese, and egg bagel sandwich, which is amazing. I learned from the staff that they make the bagels in house. They are just freakin' amazing. Nothing compares to them. Honestly, it has ruined bagel sandwiches from other coffee shops- They are that good. ]Also, the staff is super sweet! Shout out to Victoria and Charlie!! They are always really nice to me when I come in. Can't rave about them enough. Thump also has a small outdoor area for seating, which is a plus. My only complaint is their seating situation. They have multiple long tables for people to share. I wish that they had smaller tables so you could get your own table. They have a couple thankfully. Sadly, outlets are hard to find. I think the only outlets are at the high rise tables in the front of the shop by the windows.
google avatar

Joanna T.

Yelp
This neighborhood coffee cafe is chill! Serving coffee, baked goods and brunch this is a nice place to hang out. You can work your long-dreamed about novel or listen to easy country music playing in the background. There are amazing backed good that are scones, chocolate chip pretzels, fruit danishes and various savory or sweet toasts. Really nice place to take a break
google avatar

Lily K.

Yelp
Staying at my friends house for the weekend and she mentioned a cute little coffee shop around the corner and I had to check it out! Price point is a bit high but that's expected in Denver. The food was insane from the size to the taste and totally worth it! I got the green eggs and ham sandwich without any cheese. I would have taken a photo but I was so hungry that I was too focused on the taste and smell. I also ordered a hot chai and it was delicious. I wish I could find a chai a little more spicy but this was delicious none the less. Line moved pretty fast and the food and drink came out in a timely manner even when they were busy! Highly recommend if you ever want a delicious pick me up!
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
This is a nice coffee shop in the neighborhood with a good amount of seating. I tried the garden bagel on an everything bagel with was nicely toasted and had a good amount of cream cheese. The arugula, cucumber, and tomatoes were a good addition too and it was pretty tasty and filling. Their menu is not super extensive but everything looks pretty good!
google avatar

Pranjali S.

Yelp
Very cute place and my friend and I loved the atmosphere! By the time we got here, they had no desserts left so we just got coffee and kombucha. Coffee was good. Kombucha was the mortal kombucha company ginger and lemon flavor. The barista was very nice. Would love to come here again and just hang out.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
Good coffee but they took the avocado toast off the menu. This was the only thing that had me coming back. I came in from out of town to have it for the first time in 4 years and they told me it was gone. I told them I came from California to get it and expressed my love for it. The barista couldn't give a rats ass about my dismay to find it removed. Anyway. Had a great run with this place.
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
Great place to stop in for a latte! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a great cup of coffee, a nice atmosphere, and great customer service! Dan & Lexi

Yelp
Great coffee, great food, great ambiance, wifi is terrible. I love working here, but I have to find somewhere with better wifi.
