This is officially my favorite Vietnamese spot…the food was very comforting and warmed me down to my core, and I suddenly felt homesick for something I’ve never known. I came with my family after my concert and ordered #28 and #11 (if I recall correctly). Being Haitian, walking in immediately reminded me of the Haitian spots I grew up eating at. So I just KNEW it would be authentic. The staff was very friendly and the two gentlemen that helped us were extremely kind. The spring rolls were juicy and fresh, and the peanut sauce was the best I’ve ever had. My mum got the beef pho (I think #2…?) and the ox tail was extremely tender and well seasoned. She didn’t like that the broth was slightly sweet but I loved it. My tomato based soup deserves its own paragraph. The broth was not acidic like I expected, but instead, very rich with a brilliant and robust muted tomato flavor. There were snails, tomatoes, green onions, tofu, and this cake type thing. I’m imagining that it was a crab and shrimp meatball . I’d never had one before and it was packed with a deep, beautiful seafood flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy and adding the fish sauce and some chili oil elevated the whole dish. There’s so many people I want to take here, we will be back!! 💕

Google
I really wanted to score this restaurant higher because I feel like they do a great job differentiating themselves from the slough of other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The food is prepared very well. The staff is great... But man...way too much MSG. We're repeat customers so this isn't a one off observation. We just let long enough go in between visits and then about 5 or 10 minutes after we leave that feeling in your mouth sets in and we're like "Oh yeah..."

Elizabeth Garza

Google
The food was amazing good! Had #26, #01 and #11 all was super delicious 😋 The gentleman that attended us was super nice and gave us suggestions since it was our first time here. And it’s open late that’s a plus…

Google
Try Thuy Nguyen Cafe for niche and staple Vietnamese dishes you can't get at a commercial Vietnamese restaurant! Banh Beo is served more in the morning and afternoon, so try to get there as early as possible to try this steamed rice cake variation. Banh Xeo is typically a summer dish, but they sell it year-round if you ever crave it.

Chris Giang

Google
Almost like home cooking away from home. Bun bo hue and bun rieu were very good. Banh beo was also good. The banh xeo wasn't as crispy and a little too oily, but decent.

Shimmy Harris

Google
My husband and I absolutely love Pho. I have tried many restaurants but this one takes the cake. The broth is so flavourful, robust, and savory. All the meats were tender and delicious. The service was fast and the gentleman that served us was very kind. This will be our new pho restaurant

Nov. 2022 (4 Stars) Had a much better visit this time than the previous time. We ordered #20 - Topioca udon with crab, shrimp and fish cake, #23 - Seafood flat noodle, and #28 - Vermicelli soup with crab shrimp, tofu, tomatoes. Food is really good! Nov. 2021 (3 Stars) We were disappointed to order the spring rolls and several other dishes only to be told that they were out. It was only around 5:30 PM. What we did order was actually quite good. We got the Vermicelli Soup with Beef & Pork Patty, Vermicelli Soup with Shrimp, Tofu, & Tomatoes, and the combo fried rice. They seemed short-handed and service was delayed at times. The waiter was apologetic. I hope they can get more help. It's a good restaurant.

Google
I read the other reviews for this place and didn’t think they were accurate when I went there. I had pretty good service with a table of 6 during lunch time. Food came out relatively fast and it was great! The banh beos were both very good. I personally prefer the pork (wet) ones. I had the bun rieu, pho, bun bo hue - broths were very flavorful & really good. My favorite was the bun bo hue. I also tried a nuoc mam (fish sauce) wings & vermicelli rice bowl with thit nuong (grilled pork) and both were good. This is one of those places I visit frequently!

Yelp
First time trying it and it did not disappoint!! everything was delicious, we ordered a couple of things off the menu and they were all delectable. The service was 10/10 as well, everyone was super nice and helpful. And the ambiance was chill, would def recommend trying this place out!

Yelp
I have this bad habit of defaulting to the most basic options (i.e. pho, banh mi) whenever I visit a Vietnamese restaurant. My Viet friends took me to this spot for dinner and refused to let me order pho this time. I'm so glad they did that because the Bun Bo Hoe tasted phenomenal. The soup's flavor hits hard and adding chili oil on top added an unexpected level of savoriness. I was happy to see that they didn't skimp out on meat as well. I also tried two different kinds of Bang Beo for the first time. Both of them tasted great but I especially enjoyed the Quang Ngai. The pork rinds work perfectly on this dish. Lastly, I'm used to authentic Vietnamese restaurants having less than stellar restrooms but the entire shop looked quite clean. Maybe it's just a Houston Asiatown thing. Arlington's Asian enclaves have sure left me full of surprises in the past two days.

Yelp
Went at 7:30p on a Friday and it was pretty quiet inside. Lots of to go orders. Food was great and service was pretty quick. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
My sis and her partner took us to this spot bc they open late at night. We just arrived and they were already so busy with only two people running the front and two people cooking in the back. Very impressive. We ordered Vietnamese fish sauce chicken wings. These are bone in - very good and crispy. Great flavor. Ask for white rice to balance out the flavor. Kinda wish it came with some side veggies like cucumber or tomato. Overall very good. 5/5 stars Bun Bo hue- this is more on the sweeter fattier side. I like mine a bit more lemon grassy which I wasn't able to taste as much in the broth. Flavor is still good. 4/5 Service was friendly! It wasn't fast bc they were busy but efficient enough. Last note: We paid in cash so we didn't have to pay the 4% fee on credit card.

Yelp
Wooohoo! Another great viet spot to hit in dfw. We got banh beo, banh xeo, & bun bo hue to share between 3 and it was the perfect amount. Banh beo and BBH was my fav probably. I wish the banh xeo was slightly crispier and contained more shrimp/pork as it did get soggy and break on me. However, the flavors were definitely there!
google avatar

Austin N.

Yelp
Food is good and not too expensive. They also have some more traditional dishes that you won't see at more americanized Vietnamese restaurants.
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
Service is awesome. Bahn xeo, bahn beo, BBH, pho, udon pork soup, chicken wings... Everything I've ordered is delicious! Definitely recommend a visit or 10 lol

Yelp
Our large group stopped by for a post wedding lunch and easily filled the whole restaurant turning the busy schedule to busier than normal, yet the owners accommodated our large party like a champ. We ordered the Pho Thuy Nguyen, Pho Thuy Duoi Bo, Mi Quang, and Bun Rieu Cua. I quite liked the variety of herbs, spices and meats across all four orders. My favorite was the Mi Quang that came with an assortment of pork meats and herbs. The bowl of egg noodles had a separate bowl of tomato soup. Quite good!
google avatar

Geof T.

Yelp
I'm so sad I only have one picture from this restaurant because I kid you not I liked every single thing I tried. We ordered bun Bo hue, My Quang, Banh Xeo and Banh Beo and I finished every last bite. I wasn't even that hungry coming in. I think this experience has pushed Vietnamese food into the "I'm always down for that" category when deciding where to eat.

Yelp
Service ... so kind and willing to help you thru the menu making suggestions and informing us on portion sizes. Great home cooked slow simmering flavors!!! It's a clean space, be on the look out you might miss it. But great for small or large groups. I will be back. Be mindful it's not the cheapest option in the city. But worth a visit every now and again.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: The food here was phenomenal. I really enjoyed the pho broth on its own. One thing that stood out to me was the meatball in the pho. Service: The service was fast and attentive. Ambiance: it's your typical pho restaurant so the ambiance isn't amazing but it was spacious and clean. * The prices are kind of high for pho, but it is worth it in my opinion.

Yelp
Looking for restaurants that open late, and found this place. Out of my expectations, the service and food are great! The restroom is also so clean. I am so thrilled with my Bun Rien Cua!
google avatar

Yelp
Got hungry after Round one and noticed most places close by 9pm. This place was open and my hubby loves Vietnamese food so we dropped by. He didn't like this pho dac biet much but my bun rieu was ok. The spring rolls were hearty. I give them props for putting fried shallots and whole fried peanuts in the peanut sauce so it was very flavorful. I think we saw 3 workers in total and the place was half packed so they did pretty good for a staff of 3.

Yelp
We went to the HK Night Market down the road a few months ago and was in the area. It was 10:00 at night and husband told me to look for something open late. Thuy Nguyen is open until Midnight!! Husband wanted the Cafe Sua Dua. Like dude..it's 10:00 at night, you won't sleep if you have strong coffee this late. The guy also told him the same thing. He's like NO WAY! lol. The kids weren't hungry cuz they ate at the night market. Husband and I got the Bun Bo Hue to share. Honestly, should've gotten my own, but I don't usually like eating a lot at night. I'm usually a snacker at night. It was the best BBH I've ever had. Spicy and flavorful. They definitely didn't white it down!! We also got Banh Beo. I've been wanting to try them and finally went to a place that had them. Small little rice cakes with dried shrimp. I really liked them, especially with the sauce provided. If you have an issue with textures, you may not like them. We will definitely be coming back here.

Yelp
Ahhh finally some pho I like in Arlington! Not too bland like the ones that cater for white people. Thick slices of meat, chili oil that's spicier than the usual. Most importantly broth was pretty grrrreeat!!!! Initially was scared because it smelled too herbal but once I tried it, it was perfect. Not until the bottom of the soup (last 1-2 gulps) that's a bit herbal and sweet but that's just from all the stuff sinking to the bottom. It's my new go to spot.
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
I would give Thuy Nguyen Cafe a 27/30. The food is great I would say it's above your average pho restaurant. The bun bo hue is spicer than normal but hits the spot every time. The pho broth has a deeper taste to it. The service was amazing my group came in 20 people deep and a one lady took care of us all with much caring service. The pricing of the food would be the only thing that I would complain about. $15 for a bowl is pricey and if you pay with card there's an additional charge so bring cash. With the late closing hours and quality of food, this place is amazing and so worth going to!!
google avatar

Bruno F.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. The food wasn't bad but I wasn't a fan of the onions in my dish. Little uncooked for my liking. The beef was good. Server was always on top of things. Not much more to say.
google avatar

Evelyn S.

Yelp
First time here and I am not disappointed ordered spring rolls which were fresh and tasty. Fried rice full of flavors and the pho was very satisfying will definitely comeback. Service was fast I would say this place is loud but the food is worth the chaos
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
Great Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine. Its a Cafe. So it's limited Items. It's Good Food but makes sure you know what you ordering.Crab Shrimp is a Paste made into a Ball. Other then That it's Good.

Yelp
Bánh xèo is good and I'm now addicted to their canh gà nước mắm. I get it at least twice a month. A lot in one order. So worth it. You have to call ahead for it. Takes about 30 mins for it.
google avatar

Truc L.

Yelp
Bánh xèo aka Vietnamese savory crepe (the name is actually the sound when people make the dish, xèo xèo). One of my favorite ones, especially when it is cold. The dish just warm your soul up. Give it a try!!#Banhxeo#vietnamesecrepe#vietfoodindfw#crunchy#savory#dfwfood#dallasfood#dallasfoodie#arlingtontx#vietfood#misatastytravels

Yelp
Had the Bun Bo Hue and it was so delicious. The broth was very flavorful and the meat was so tender. Service was quick and the place was clean. I would definitely recommend it!

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Food was delicious, open late night and the service was really good! We tried the spring rolls, Vietnamese pancake, combination fried rice and the vermicelli with beef and they were all 10/10.
google avatar

Alexas D.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. Had to use my google translator because the staff didn't understand English & I'm not Vietnamese. Other than that, I will def be back to try other dishes!
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
I discovered a gem! The bun rieu with oc was delicious. The nuoc mam wings were divine. Pho was very flavorful. The food came out very quickly and the service was excellent. I also love how there's karaoke going on in the next room. Will definitely be back to try the other stuff on the menu! They are cash only so be prepared.

Allen L.

Yelp
Amazing food, very tasty! The place is busy, but the guy working here is amazing! Hardest working person I've seen in a long time! Great place. Just a word of caution if you have any allergy to milk the chicken wings use butter. Great place, any time in Dallas area will come back!

Janine D.

Yelp
Understaffed and waited a long time to be seated and served. When we ordered, waiter asked us to change the order as it would take a long time for them to prepared and served and this was 2pm on a Saturday. We changed to Pho and the portion was small and it was alright. Nothing remarkable.
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
The only one dish that's NOT good is banh canh , we ordered take out Mi Quang , Bun Bo hue & Banh canh tôm cua - we've never tasted such bad Banh canh .
google avatar

Huan P.

Yelp
100% AUTHENTIC Vietnamese food. I haven't been back to Vietnam in a while but I can't imagine this place is much different in terms of the food. You can find top notch bun Bo hue, banh xeo, bun rieu, etc. here. Their banh xeo is probably the best in town. My only gripe are their prices. Feels a little expensive but hard to complain when I leave with my tummy happy.
google avatar

N B.

Yelp
Was in the area for the weekend and got to Arlington later than I thought. I read about good things about this place and they stayed open late. Got there and the place was empty but I was eating to go anyway. Got the bun rieu to go and eat at the hotel room. My eating arrangement was not very user friendly but once I started on my meal, all the inconveniences disappeared. This review is for the bun rieu only and that is a dish I will come back for again on my next visit to the area. Broth and noodles and rest of the ingredients were excellent (and that was packaged on a to go box).
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
You can tell they're under staff and need some help because theyre pretty busy. The workers are still wearing mask. Environment was clean. Food was good. I really wanted to try the banh beo, however they didn't have it available. I went for lunch on a Sunday. I may return to give it another try. So may have to call ahead if you're looking to eat certain items. Bun Bo hue had good taste. Lots of meats within in. I would def return to eat it again!
google avatar

Loc N.

Yelp
Pros: - service is good. - bun bo broth is on the fatty side for those who like fattier broth. Cons: - paying with credit card, there will be a fee. - the bun bo did not have the garnish like banana blossoms. You usually serve bun bo with that to balance the dish.
google avatar

Brenda T.

Yelp
If you're looking for a late night Vietnamese restaurant, this is the best one in Arlington. The bun rieu with oc is delicious. The banh beo is big with a lot of toppings and rice cake is a bit thick. Banh xeo comes with 2 and is crispy and slightly thick. Great service. Casual hole in the wall.

Kenny N.

Yelp
I liked this spot. Very "traditional" feeling in terms of a Vietnamese restaurant with a mix of typical menu items you would find, but done in a way that is very delicious. Highly recommend the Banh Xeo!
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
Best banh beo and mi quang in Arlington area Not so great bun Bo hue or bun rieu. They put dill in both of those dishes. Service is ok. 3-4% credit card fee too
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
I've been on a hunt for a good bun bo spot ever since duc chuong closed down, but the bun bo here was pretty good! Broth was spicy and sweet. It's definitely up there IMO hehe

Jade S.

Yelp
The food here is fantastic and truly authentic, with a standout dish being the Bun Bo Hue. This spicy beef noodle soup has a rich, fragrant broth infused with lemongrass, chili, and aromatic spices. The combination of tender beef, thick noodles, and fresh herbs makes each bite a delightful experience that captures the essence of this Vietnamese classic.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Thuy Nguyen Cafe is legit home style Viet food done right! I loved the homey feeling of the restaurant, and it really shows in the quality of their food. My favorites here are their Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu. You can tell they boil their broth for hours from the richness of the broth by itself. It's the kind of broth that warms you to your soul, especially on a chilly Winter day. The meat is always tender, and their limes/mint/basil/jalapenos/bean sprout accompaniments are always fresh. I would 10/10 recommend this Viet restaurant in the Arlington area. Next time I'll be back to try their pho, my quang, and banh beo.
google avatar

Cat L.

Yelp
Prices have changed but the food are still legit! I love their My Quang, Banh Beo & Bun Rieu Oc!!! Not necessarily in that order. I always order Canh Ga Chien Nuoc Mam togo since the portion is ginormous...this dish is a tad salty and taste really good w white rice. 4* room to improve on varieties, I wish they have other options beside what's on the menu, daily specials were the same dishes daily (eugh, I don't think that's what it meant to be daily specials) Not a fan of their bun bo ( but maybe I need to give it another try since) their Bun Hen is alright. I guess it's too much of a hassle to have all the right ingredients for legit Bun Hen. This place does taste like home cook meals (if your home cook run in the variety of ok on the msg additive) Overall, when I'm hungry for lunch and in the area, this is the place I go to.
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
We mainly came here for the Banh Xeo but they only had one type available and they ran out of the shredded shrimp. They were up front about it and asked if we would still want it . We did and it was delicious still. Probably better if it had all the ingredients As for our main dish we had the bun Bo hue and the bun rieu oc . The Bun Oc had plenty of the escargot and it was very flavorful. Service is like most older Vietnamese restaurants. They ask for your order , bring it out and then you go up and pay after.
google avatar

Kayla N.

Yelp
The food was amazing, hence why it's not a 1 star review. The $35 wings will take 30 minutes to prepare as they will warn you. Pretty tasty! The banh beo quang ngai was $8 and yummy as well. The bun rieu was impressive! $13? Maybe $20 at the most with the snails ? We never got our hot teas. When I told the lady to please not charge me for those she said "oh no no....i won't" I bought two yogurts and two coconut jellies to take home. What was my total? $65-$70? $80 even? No. It was $110!!!!! With $20 tip, that's $130! For two people on a Wednesday night. As you can see, I'm not the one to write bad reviews but this here rubbed me the wrong way. Let me tell you, BET I'll be coming back at least once more for their food BUT I will surely keep an eye out for an itemized receipt the next time they ring me up. Even WITH a 4% credit card fee, it should NOT have been $110. Shame on these people and I hope they recognize my face when I come back next time. We drove 30 minutes from FW too. Smh. Please be careful when they ring you up peeps! Food was great though gosh darn it! I DOUBLE DARE them try to scam me again.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
All the dishes had amazing flavor! I typically don't enjoy bun rieu, but I loved this one! Banh beo and pho were also very yummy :) Ordered a Sua Dau Nanh (Pandan) - refreshing. Short-staffed but very friendly! Accommodated for a large group.
google avatar

Celina B.

Yelp
Hu tieu hit the spot today. Omg the broth is so bomb! So much flavor. I didn't even add spicy oil because I didn't want to ruin the flavor!
google avatar

Juliet L.

Yelp
I want to emphasize that this place IS THE BEST place to get authentic Vietnamese food in Arlington. The banh beo is to die for. We devoured the two different types there were in 2 minutes. The banh xeo is super crispy and a good portion size for two. All of the noodle soups can be a little on the sweeter side but still good none the less. Only con is that they charge a credit card fee if using a card, so make sure you bring cash!
google avatar

Leslie T.

Yelp
From Cali visiting family here. Looked for a late night place to have dinner and this place was so bomb! When eating pho and noodles, first thing to taste test is the soup. The pho soup base for my husband was rich and delicious. One of the best pho soup I've had in a long time coming from Cali. The Bun soup was also amazing. I missed it and reminded me of another Vietnamese restaurant back in LA. Great food and service. Love this and will come back when in town again. Recommending it to our family members in Dallas. Can't beat good viet place closing midnight lol
google avatar

Tricia O.

Yelp
Long wins for best customer service! I came in around 8pm at night and Long greeted me like I was the first customer of the year. Exuberant, vibrant and welcoming. Thank you Long for great customer service from start to finish of my visit. I wanted to try the mixed banh beo and it was delightful. Upon approaching the cash register, I notice items in the fridge. The Vietnamese yogurt was delicious and the sponge cake was divine. You must get them!

Andy L.

Yelp
This is a pretty good spot that opens late. We flew in late and found this hole in the wall place. The Pho is great. It has a hint of curry flavor to it which is pleasantly surprising. I would definitely come back for the Pho. The service however is lacking. We came in with a party of 6 and after getting seated, it took 5 mins to even get the menu. Once we got the menu, it took another 10 mins to take our order. We also had to wait a long time for our food and one of the items came after everyone else finished. Because of this, I have to give it 1 less star.
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
DO. NOT. EAT. HERE. As a fellow Asian-American, I strongly recommend you avoid this establishment if possible. Do not waste a second or dollar with this place. First off, this place is horrendous and filthy. The interior is crusty, the tables haven't been cleaned off, and the floors were sticky. I believe I may have seen a cockroach on the floor as well. Secondly, the service here is horrible and practically non-existent. There was a short, older Vietnamese lady who was our server that night (not sure if she's the owner?). To be blunt, she was extremely rude and did not accommodate to our one request. We had requested for a plate of lettuce on the side with our bun rieu. Much to our surprise and disappointment, this request was deemed to be unreasonable to our server. She told us that lettuce was only offered with specific dishes, and we would need to order "said" dishes if we wanted a side of lettuce. My dish contained lettuce, so they did have a supply of this in the back but they were too cheap to give it out. We didn't mind paying extra for it, but the server was set on not giving us any. Once the food had arrived, we did not see the server until the bill came. No refills were provided, and she did not bother to check in to see if we needed anything else. There is a section on the menu that states that a party of 6+ is automatically charged an 18% tip on the bill. However, I am unable to comprehend this charge given that the server did the absolute bare minimum and a terrible job. Lastly, there is an additional 4% fee that is added to the bill if you pay with a credit card. There is nothing that will indicate this charge on the menu or outside of the restaurant. So this definitely caught us off guard. We definitely felt like we got scammed after leaving this establishment! TL;DR - This restaurant is very below average, and I don't understand how this place has 4 stars on Google and Yelp. This restaurant is disgusting/dirty, service is horrendous, food was mid, automatic 18% tip is not deserved, and an additional 4% fee if you use a credit card (which I've never seen at a restaurant before). As I mentioned in the first paragraph, please do not waste your time and money here!

Yelp
Fast service and open late. Extremely flavorful and filling bun bo hue for a great price!! I would definitely come back for it!
