Tia Maria - Brazilian Bar & Restaurant London

I had an excellent meal at Tia Maria. I was often put off by the prices but decided to give it a go today and I was so happy I did. The coxinhas were delicious and the feijoada very tasty. The service was excellent too, my order came in no time and the person serving me was the sweetest. I would definetely go back.

Great place with great service but sadly the food was a big mixed feelings about. The coxinha was really good and so was the "costela" and the mixed pastéis!!! However, everything else was frozen food and tasteless. The "mandioca" wasn't cooked enough and we got an apology but nothing else in return. The "calabresa" was incredibly tasteless and seemed to be recently defrost. And the biggest disappointment was the churros. We were told it has dulce de leche/doce de leite inside it but it was also probably a frozen thing that was fried, so it was very dry and tasteless dough not at all close to what a churros is and with a very strange little thing inside that should be doce de leite. Very bad one, would not order again. The service was great, the place was fun also and there are possibilities to watch live Brazilian football. If you go to drink and enjoy your time, it's great. If to eat, need to be sure about what to order.

It used to be really good 10,15 years ago. It got busy and had loads of cool live music. However recently I’ve went there twice. The last time they were supposed to have “live music” but when I arrived the place was quite empty and no live music happening. Almost no traditional Brazilian dishes and almost no Brazilian alcoholic drinks. Plus the place looks dated. It’s supposed to be a Brazilian bar and restaurant but has no vibe of it at all. It needs a rebranding and refurb. Don’t recommend.

Tia Maria is one of our local venues for drinks and it’s very casual but feels quite easy and definitely has some speakeasy vibes epically during the weekdays and for that we really like to go there for drinks. We discovered that they were doing a 50% off food on one of the weeks, and we tried there for dinner one night. The food was exceptional value especially for half price and the cheese dough ball was really good. The food is generally acceptable quality but the beef was still undercooked and needed more time for cooking. For the price and volume of food, it is definitely a bargain and must!

Good music and friendly people, except the lady at the box office, she is not very welcoming. My Brazilian sausage portion (which isn’t Brazilian) took 1.5 hours to arrive, and the size of the portion was shocking—you can literally count how many slices were on the plate. Looking at other reviews, clearly kitchen got a problem!! The staff looked extremely busy, running around the place, but the venue was half empty, so I honestly don’t get it. Also, if I were you, I’d check the area near the box office at the entrance; something smells bad there. It could be a drain issue caused by the rain. Also the place is very cold!!!! Apart from that, everything was good.

A very nice Brazilian place in London. Music, food, atmosphere, and everything leads you to a comfortable Brazilian experience. Eduardo, Alan, Matheus, and other guys are awesome. I truly recommend this place.

Went for some tapas on the way to a party and it was amazing! 10/10 authentic Brazilian food. Even The chips tasted amazing. The drinks, superb, delicious handmade Lemonade. The calamari was superb, delicate and not chewy. Alex was great, the service was so lovely. It wasn't busy, which surprised me as the food was so good. We were well looked after and it looked as if they were preparing to be busy. We did arrive when it opened at 12, starving for lunch. Either way, it did not disappoint! So good. Even the greens. If we were local we would be there every weekend!

Absolutely amazing experience, food and staff were brilliant, the atmosphere was lovely, it was great to see the Sunday night band as well. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in London. Vito and Thay were fantastic hosts! We spent five hours here but it could have easily been all day!

I've been to this place twice and if I had rated it the first time, it would have been on the higher side due to the atmosphere and descent food. However, I went again based on the experience I had the last time and just didn't enjoy it that much. The first time I went to this restaurant, the ambience was great, there was a live Tango dance going on, the food was good and it was generally very lively. I went again at around the same time on a Friday evening and it just seemed like an old pub people got tired of going to. There was no music, the napkins had changed to paper napkins and the service was so tacky that I wanted to walk behind the bar and sort it out. But I wanted food more. I opted for the steak again because I enjoyed it the last time and it was just OK this time around. The vegetables to me tasted like frozen vegetables which had been steamed and not flavoured at all. I was dashing salt everywhere. I am disappointed to say that I didn't enjoy it the second time because I did like the restaurant the first time around. Would I be lucky the third time?

If you want to have some real unpretentious fun, good prices , service and food you should come to Tia Maria. Have been there two times already and I will keep coming!!

Not a pub anymore, but a Brazilian Restaurant. Advertises that it still sells real ale, haven't visited it yet so I gave it mid stars.

First time to Tia Maria. The staff is very friendly so far (I'm still waiting for my "second meal"). The appetizer was great but the sirloin steak I first ordered was not seasoned at all (absolutely no flavor) which was a huge disappointment. Therefore I ordered a chicken breast and ask the waiter to please put the first meal for take away. The Chicken breast was good.

Very friendly staff. The food was very nice, tried the steaks and burgers. Live music on weekends.

Went here on a sunday for lunch. What we were looking for was sunday roast and should have waited a few more minutes for the Fentiman to open round the corner. The food is brazillian/portugese, and not particularly good at that everything was either bland, over-cooked, or fried to a crisp. The friendly staff is about this place's only redeeming feature.
