15 Lively Seattle Restaurants for Big Group Dinners

"Sichuan food is generally served family-style, and the portions at Northgate’s Tian Fu Chinese restaurant (with additional locations in the U District and Bellevue) are huge. The larger tables in the spacious dining room are even equipped with lazy Susans to facilitate the sharing of several dishes. The mapo tofu here is heavily spiced and satisfying. The dry-fried string beans pack a punch of umami from the pickled vegetable bits. The whole grilled fish dishes (which are doused in broth, strewn with dried chilis and Sichuan peppercorns, and served with a choice of vegetables) are great for splitting, as are the several boiled fish dishes on the menu." - Meg van Huygen, Mark Van Streefkerk, Jade Yamazaki Stewart, Adam H. We ordered Spicy boneless chicken, and the small dry pot spicy chicken wings with rice and two milk teas. We also added two extra portions of vegetables, but honestly, the cauliflower and other veggies that came with the dish were already enough. The flavor was great, the portion was generous, good price and worth it.

I recently visited Tian Fu Seattle, and while I had hoped for a satisfying meal, the experience fell short in several ways. The first thing that stood out was the self-service nature of the place. While that’s not inherently a problem, the server’s actions were odd. Despite the restaurant being practically empty during my visit, they seemed to do the bare minimum—dropping off food without much effort or engagement. As for the food, while the portions were impressively large, the flavor was severely lacking. Every bite felt bland, as though their focus was entirely on quantity rather than quality. If you’re someone who values taste and attention to detail, this might not be the place for you. Overall, Tian Fu Seattle may appeal to those who prioritize getting a lot of food for their money, but for anyone seeking a flavorful or attentive dining experience, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

We traveled to Seattle and decided to visit this restaurant after seeing its good ratings and positive reviews on the app. Overall this was the most disappointing meal of our trip. What we ordered: The Big Plate Chicken, Stir-Fried Potatoes, Black Pepper Beef, and rice. What we liked: The potatoes were flavorful What disappointed us: The Black Pepper Beef had extremely poor meat quality—about 80% of it was so tough it was really hard to chew The Big Plate Chicken lacked flavor entirely, leaving us underwhelmed. The rice was not freshly cooked, seemed to be mixed with older rice, and had a noticeable stain on the bowl. While we appreciated the potato dish, but the rest of the meal was a letdown and definitely not worth the price.

First time at this restaurant. We ordered a variety of fish dishes and desserts. The food had an off putting flavor and was room temperature if not basically cooled. Can’t really describe the flavor. It was aromatic but not in a good way. I do enjoy aromatic flavors normally. Left everyone’s tongues tingly but the food was not spicy. Just our tongues felt tingly then numb. Very strange sensation. We ordered all spicy dishes and we all enjoy spicy food. Food was not spicy at all except if you classify whole peppercorns as spicy, and there were alot of peppercorns, too many and not needed as they didn’t add flavor to the dish in a positive way. Dessert also was not very good. Ordered 1 mango pudding and it had maybe 4 penny size pieces of mango in the entire dish, and the “pudding” was completely liquidated. Not a pudding consistency in anyway. The flavor wasn’t very good either. Service was ok. Didn’t know we had to order online, didn’t realize that until after we sat for awhile and no one acknowledged our way for service. I give the restaurant 2 stars just incase on the off chance that the flavor was just not to the palette of mine or anyone I was with (4 adults). Would not return and would not recommend. Was not worth the $150 bill. They did add their own tip as part of the bill as well.

All the dishes came in generous portions, which is a rare find in the Seattle area these days. The fried noodles and peking shredded pork arrived really hot—you could tell they were freshly made. You can tell there’s a real chef in the kitchen, not just someone reheating food from a kit. I really appreciated the lighter touch on salt and MSG. Ordering through a QR code was convenient and made it easy to add more dishes or drinks during the meal. The space is spacious with plenty of tables. Definitely recommend!

I live right next door to this place and have ordered take-out a few times, but last week we dined in the restaurant for the first time with a couple of friends and the experience was phenomenal! It felt like the entire staff was serving us with the utmost enthusiasm and care. We weren't sure what to order and they helped us pick out some delicious dishes. They even brought us some complimentary sweet teas during our meal which perfectly complimented the spicy and savory flavors of the food. Highly recommend! I can't wait to go back.

There is so much potential in this restaurant but unfortunately the food is not as good as I expected. The place is spacious and I really like the Chinese style interior. The service is decent and they never pressured up to leave even as it gets crowded. The food portions are very good as you get a lot for each dish. I just wish the food taste better. I ordered some typical Sichuan food such as the dry lot frog but somehow the food is just missing some necessary magic to taste right. I think the restaurant is missing some authentic Sichuan spices so the food just tastes bland. The frog dry pot has decent pieces of frogs but the breading is too much on the frogs and I think the frogs should have been fresh instead of frozen. The pork pieces are cut out a little too big to bring out the right flavor. The veggies are also cut too large. Overall it's an alright restaurant and worth going if you are in Seattle area but if you've had better Sichuan food before it's not worth coming here specifically.

Yelp
A go to spot for authentic Chinese food! Highly recommend every soup on their menu (especially the pig trotter soup). Every dish on their menu that I've tried in my numerous trips here has been amazing (recommend salted egg yolk green beans and the house cured pork!) Their desserts also never miss (recommend the osmanthus blossom raindrop jelly!). Their service is always very friendly and service is very efficient with QR code ordering and the servers confirming your order. They also have a very spacious restaurant with very cool chairs.

Yelp
Overall a yummy place to go if you're craving Szechuan food! Most of the dishes we ordered had a slight kick to it but it was a pleasant kind of spice. It lingered in the mouth and had me reaching for the water but didn't churn my stomach like certain spicy foods. We ordered the pork belly hot & spicy dry pot, cumin lamb stir fry, string beans, fried rice, fish with tofu in peppercorn broth among other things. Personally I wasn't a fan of the dry pot. It was a little dry, as maybe the name implied, and a bit salty. It wasn't bad but I preferred the cumin lamb to it which was flavorful and tender. The fried rice was not too salty and was good to balance out the strong flavors of the entrees we ordered. I really enjoyed the fish in broth. The fish was flaky and soft and the broth was rich. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and there weren't too many people in the restaurant. It was relatively quiet and the service was good.

Yelp
The chili oil tastes solid but it tastes like the over the a counter mapo tofu sauce. It comes with generous amount of beef and tofu, but it's well justified with the price being $27 which is on the expensive side. The server served the wrong order initially and she was nice enough to give me a rice replacement worrying that the rice gets too cold. The ambiance is nice with traditional Chinese furnitures and decors. Will come back with more people for more food!

Yelp
Decent Chinese restaurant with spacious sitting area. Staffs were helpful, food was served pretty fast for lunch time. We ordered Spicy beef noodles and braised pork with rice. I prefer the rice more though. Noodle portion was shareable just slightly salty. Maybe I'll try something else beside noodle next time.

Yelp
For excellent Chinese cuisine in the Northgate area, try the local favorite Golden Dragon; their diverse menu and flavorful dishes are sure to satisfy your cravings. Don't miss the savory Dim Sum options.

Yelp
I came here to send my friend off after college graduation. Man, this place was pretty interesting. I love the chairs here.. Service was really good, but the food was extremely spicy. My mouth felt melted in spice and the complimentary rice was well needed. I think if my tolerance was higher I would come back. But I was disappointed by the lack of variety this restaurant had. If you love spicy Sichuanese food, come here. If not, go somewhere else

Yelp
Authentic Chinese. Food was really good. Some of the dishes are very spicy which we loved, like the crispy chicken with a bunch of whole peppers. They also have a ton of not spicy options though. Staff are friendly and professional. It was really busy when we visited but we still got our food in a timely manner. Casual vibes. Location has plenty parking in parking garage.

Yelp
The place is really nice and the food was so excellent. I didn't expect the portions to be big. We were beyond full, and this is one of the best schezwan places I have had in a really long time. The service was great, and we were able to order from the mobile app from our table. Really nice when I found they had photos online of their dishes. Returant was clean and comfortable. Well lit and nice decor.

Yelp
Best Sichuan food in Seattle area. My parents (immigrants from China) said it's the most authentic Sichuanese food they've had in the US so that's how you know it's good! I haven't had a dish here that isn't great. Even their tomato and braised beef dish is amazing even though it's not spicy! I'll also say that the Northgate location is better than the Bellevue one.

Yelp
Vinegar black fungus and cucumbers to start. Sichuan spicy prawns and frog to finish. Love the numbing spicy mala flavors. Brings back so many great memories of living and dining on Chinese special dishes when living in China. Yay! Try it.

Yelp
If you want authentic Sichuan food, this is your spot. Spice levels can be very high. Prepare a ton of rice to supplement with. We snagged two takeout items and made rice. I'm heating up typing and remembering it. Hot & Spicy Dry Pot - we got this with frog legs. I'm not a fan of all the bones and minimal meat, but it's a classic. Frog tastes very much like chicken, and legs are comparable to wings. Extremely spicy, the dryness of the stir fry style doesn't help either! Braised Beef with Tofu - while relatively basic, the beef was very tender alongside an obviously fluffy tofu to be a light and easy pairing with anything. Two soft items that melt in one's mouth, paired with rice for additional texture, seems like a nice comfort food. Spicy but bearable.

Yelp
Food was good but kinda pricey. I enjoyed the house special noodles, but the mango coconut milk drink was just ok.

Yelp
Disappointing food. Not sure what the hype is about. I got beef and tofu fish. The beef was very heavy on the sauce and not spicy at all. It was a bit too salty. The fish was not good. Extremely oily and the some fish fillet carried that fishy taste that made me wanna spit it out. Very great service though.

Yelp
TLDR: anticipate a waitlist on a Friday night or even a weekend. Generous portions. Hits it home with Szechuan food! Can get hot, spicy, and numbing as one would want. Great service. Large restaurant can seat many people in a comfortable environment. Would come again. Went on a Friday night to Tian Fu. We did have to wait about 30 minutes to get a seat, but the online mobile reserve system lets you leave to do something in the mall or across the street and come back. The three of us are were all seated comfortably at a large table. We ordered the twice cooked pork and the boneless Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper. The twice cooked pork was fantastic. It had a great sweet and savory flavor in both the pork and the vegetables I would certainly get it again. The Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper brought the tongue numbing experience I was looking for. It is definitely not for everyone because it is very very spicy. But if you do want something very spicy that also is fried this is a good option. Overall the value of our meal split between the three of us (as it is family style) was enough to feed all three of us and more (we took some home). I would be happy to come again and try out something new.

Yelp
I've come here a few times on and off since they first opened and recently I've been less impressed with the flavors. My best description is it's a decent impersonation of authentic Sichuan food: it's got good texture and appearance and is almost there but it's just missing some punch across the board. My favorite thing here used to be the rattan pepper fish. When I ordered it this time it was pretty bland. It had all the right ingredients, the fish had a nice texture, and the portion was generous, but it just tasted...plain. It was short on ginger, garlic, salt, peppers, basically everything that makes this dish tick. I was straight up drinking the broth and eating the peppers and ginger pieces to try to squeeze more flavor out of the dish and that still wasn't enough. It seemed like they skipped a really basic step (frying the peppers in oil to release the numbing spice) because the spice profile just wasn't there. The lamb soup was also a disappointment. For 43 dollars I was expecting at least what was shown on the menu: bone broth with bone in goat meat falling off the bone and leaking marrow like I've had in my hometown. The meat was just slices of rubbery supermarket lamb, and because there is no bone in meat in this thing I can't rule out the possibility of this being made with hot pot mix. For the asking price this dish is straight up bad and not professionally presented. It's possible they've tuned back their flavors to satisfy a more Americanized audience. If that's your kind of thing then this is a manageable introduction to sichuan food, but they hold so much back in terms of kick and flavor it just does not feel like a satisfying experience to me.

Yelp
First time trying this location - just as good as the Bellevue one! We ordered a bunch of takeout for CNY. - house cured pork belly fried rice: has that fresh wok taste you can only get in a restaurant 5/5 - salted egg string beans: 5/5 - hot and spicy beef and tofu: tender beef and soft tofu, really spicy so just beware if you can't handle. 4.5/5 - hot and spicy spare ribs: as described and delicious 4/5 - fish fillet in rattan peppers with sour broth: super tender fish and comes with rice noodles, which soak up the broth nicely. Order this if you like numbing spice 5/5 - vegetable delight: as described 3.5/5 - country stir fry pork belly: didn't expect this one to be spicy. Pork belly was good but the rest is just pepper so was hard to eat! 3/5 only because there were soooo many peppers!

Yelp
My friend wanted some spicy food and so they took us here to try. This is my first time being here but it was pretty good. Parking is available so that is a bonus. We got the following: Toothpick lamb with cilantro: the lamb could be more tender but it was good. It's dry style so the spice isn't as strong. Flavor is good though Country style pork belly with pepper: the green stuff is not beans or any veggies, it's actual pepper (spicy kind). The pork belly was tender and good. This one is for those who like spicy food (like me). Eggplant dish -- this is my favorite, it goes really well with rice and super flavorful Tofu with fish --- the tofu and fish was cooked really well, both were soft and the mala numbing spice wasn't as strong. Definitely get some rice because it goes well with the dishes. Price is a little high in my opinion but I can't really tell anymore with all the inflation happening... Service was good though, food came out quickly, they check on us here and there as well.

Yelp
This place was popping even on a Wednesday night. You know when all the Asians are there, it means it's legit!! I went with my bf for date night so we decided not to order the whole fish entrees. We definitely want to come back with more people next time to order that because it seemed like THE thing to get. Twice cooked pork- 2/5 I was very let down by this. I never had such overcooked pork before... AND it was cold. Seemed like it had just been left sitting out for a while. Intestines- 5/5 favorite dish out of the three! Came out sizzling, super flavorful, delicious! Fish fillet- 3/5 had great potential but because it was not served in a metal pot and kept warm, the flavor didn't seem to be fully there in the fish. Next time we are coming back for the whole fish!! Stay tuned.

Yelp
Amazing, flavorful food that never misses. Located in northgate mall, this restaurant is very spacious and has clean decor with comfortable chairs. Bathrooms are very clean as well. You order on your phone and it is confirmed by the waitstaff. Definitely get the soy milk to balance the spicy taste! Also get the dry pot for sure.

Yelp
This is the restaurant for spice lovers 3 This is my roommate's favorite restaurant of all time and I definitely understand why now. If you love spicy food you have to come here. Their food was so flavorful and had generous portions. We ordered the Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Tian Fu Sauerkraut Fish, Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper, Black Pepper Beef on Sizzling Platter, all over rice. The Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a classic appetizer cold dish with so much flavor. The Sauerkraut Fish was also delicious, not as spicy, but that made it better. The Chongqing Chicken was surprisingly crispy and tender and the bite-sized pieces were fun to eat. The Black Pepper Beef was rich in flavor and a good break from all the spice. Service was great and the interior was very pleasant; the chairs are very deep and make you feel extra fancy. I'm definitely coming back to try the eggplant and salted yolk tofu next!

Yelp
If you are looking for American style Chinese food, you will not get too much of that here. I was intrigued by the menu because there were many items that I did not recognize on there. I played it safe and ordered the kung pao chicken and fried potstickers. Both were disappointments. The potstickers were straight from the Costco frozen section, then deep fried. The kung pao here was very strange to me. What I did like was the amount. There was a ton of it and the meat was very tender. But that's all the good I could say. I have never had a kung pao chicken be so sweet. I was almost convinced I ordered teriyaki. The spice comes from schezwan peppers so you get the signature numbing sensation the more you eat. I don't have a sensitive palet, but it seemed like they put a ton of pepper in it. My mouth was so numb when I was finished, I could barely keep the saliva in my mouth. It felt like I just got a root canal. I didn't take the rest home because it would have went strait to the trash. Also, I noticed, while I was there that the servers seemed to only be nice to those who spoke Chinese. The server was not too kind to me while I was there. For sure won't be back.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Be aware- their prices online are not correct. My takeout order bill came out 20% higher than I expected. (Ex: online said Kung pao chicken is $13.99 but actually is $16.99). When I asked about the price difference the cashier said "I don't know. Inflation?" Food is good though.
google avatar

Yelp
I should preface this by saying I'm not Chinese. However I did live in China for almost all of the 1980s. I've been to Sichuan many times and recall many wonderful meals there. My go to restaurant for 川菜 or Sichuanese food up until the pandemic had been Sichuanese Cuisine, or 老四川, the one in Bellevue. Unfortunately the only time I've been back there since the pandemic their food was not very good. Everything seemed to have only one flavor. A few days ago we decided to try Tianfu. As unhappy as I was with the place in Bellevue, I disliked this place even more. However I must admit that there were quite a few Chinese people eating there. So take your chances if you decide to go there. I won't be going back.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Have gotten takeout here many times, and also have dined in. Never had a bad experience and each time keeps me wanting more. Everything I've had on the menu is delicious, and the portions are very generous. The interior is very spacious though it can get busy at peak times (though the wait is never too long).
google avatar

Brandi H.

Yelp
Wanted to grab some lunch and this place seemed like a good try. I went on a weekday and it was not busy. The interior looks nice and clean with a lot of seating. Dan Dan noodles (4.5/5): So good! I would get this again. The portion was great. The flavor was spicy and numbing but not too crazy. Good amount of sauce and toppings to cover the noodles. The noodles looked a bit like spaghetti but it was perfectly cooked and had nice texture. I didn't like how it came out in a bowl though. It would have better been presented on a plate but it's ok. Chili wontons (3.5/5): These were ok. The wonton skin felt a little hard which wasn't that appetizing. The flavors were good and spicy. It was a good portion. Yang zhou fried rice (4/5): Yum! I like a good, simple fried rice and this was just that. A little oily but that is all the flavor. There were only 2 shrimps so that was a little disappointing. The rice was perfectly cooked. I definitely recommend if you are in the area. You can order through a QR code on the table. The staff was nice and attentive. The price point is pretty good. I expected it to cost a lot more but was pleasantly surprised. Overall, I enjoyed it.
google avatar

YuJun L.

Yelp
I've had Tian fu two times take out and one time dine in. Takeout is fine and all, but make sure you allocate enough time during peak hours so you don't wait too long. If you're willing to dine in, definitely go for it. The portions compared to take out are much better. Definitely get the la zi ji (辣子雞)spicy fried chicken ? Bone in or bone out are both awesome Twice cooked pork is delicious Spicy intestines are good. Basically as long as you can handle the spice, you can handle the price I've never been disappointed eating here. Real solid spicy cuisine
google avatar

Yelp
It's a good place fir big groups! They have large tables. Decent price and you can also order online which was very convenient: What we ordered: Mapo tofu 4/5 String beans with Salted egg yolk 4.5/5 - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Very good and big portion size Pork belly fried rice 5/5 - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Chinese Brocolli w/ Ginger & Scallion 4/5
google avatar

Yelp
their food here is really spicy!! if you like spicy, this place is for you! very good spicy chinese food. the sauces are pretty oily but most chinese sauces are. it's located in the mall as well!

Yelp
Worst Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper I ever have. Twice Cooked Pork is hard as stone.

Yelp
Tianfu Chunqiu is one of the famous Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Seattle, I really think you should try at least once The best dish here is the Spicy Chicken, it is a traditional home-style dish in sichan and nearby region, chicken with bones and rich in spicy and a little sweetness, as well as the crispy texture outside and juciy inside, this is the best I have ever eaten in Seattle Toothpick lamb is very tender, Golden beef soup is yummy, salted egg yolk tofu is a choice for people who are not good at eating spicy food. Their brown sugar jicama is not that authentic but it is still a good desert for an great ending

Yelp
Easily the best Chinese food in the Seattle area!!!! The chicken wing dry pot is so GOOD!! The portion sizes are very reasonable. The large size is enough to feed 3 people comfortably. More favorites are the lamb skewers, green beans and the mung bean cold noodles! I've come here quite a few times and the service is always great. Sometimes the water jars that were already on the table seemed dirty but I asked for a replacement and they would give a new jar.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for some delicious Chinese food, you simply can't go wrong with Tian Fu. This restaurant, conveniently located next to Target, offers a fantastic dining experience that is sure to satisfy your cravings for authentic Chinese cuisine. One thing that really stood out to me about Tian Fu was the incredible taste of their eggplant dish. The chefs fry the eggplant before coating it in a delectable sauce that is sure to make your taste buds dance with joy. While the dish is admittedly a little on the greasy side, it's well worth it for the explosion of flavors you'll experience with each bite. Of course, Tian Fu offers much more than just eggplant - the menu is packed with a wide variety of delicious dishes, each expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Whether you're in the mood for spicy Sichuan cuisine or more mild flavors, you're sure to find something on the menu that will hit the spot. One of the biggest advantages of dining at Tian Fu is the convenience of its location - with parking that's easy to access, you won't have to waste time driving around looking for a spot. And once you're inside, you'll find a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service that will make you feel right at home. All in all, I can't recommend Tian Fu enough - it's a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Chinese food. So if you're looking for a great dining experience, head on over to Tian Fu and prepare to be blown away by the delicious flavors that await you.

Yelp
Food was great and there are some nice non alcohol drink in the menu. The restaurant is pretty busy in dinner time but the wait time wasn't bad.

Yelp
What we ordered for the table: - Chongqing Chili Chicken (Boneless) - Hot & Spicy Fish Fillet with Tofu - Tofu with Salted Egg Yolk My first time trying Sichuan food! The numbing kind of spicy was definitely a new experience for me and quite addicting haha.

Yelp
This is based on their broken waitlist system and terrible service I received. I rarely give one-star review, but I've been having two similar bad experiences in a row. Review it is. I'll give a rundown of one of the experiences: We arrived at the restaurant around 6:45 PM, and the place was packed. We placed our name (Wen) on the waitlist and didn't want to crowd the space further--we decided to walk around Target nearby until we get the text notification. 7:45 PM. We never got a single text. The waitlist showed that there are still 3 parties ahead. We decided to head back to the restaurant anyway. There were at least 10 tables open. We were still #4 on the waitlist. Two more parties came in and placed their names on the waitlist. They were given a table immediately. And we FINALLY figured out that they skipped us while we wandering in Target without us knowing. I don't want to write 1-star reviews, so I wanted to have a conversation with the staff in person. They ignored us and no further action was taken. This is not the first time that they misused the waitlist system. I don't understand why we were penalized for being empathetic to the situation--we didn't overcrowd the waiting area, we arrived a little earlier to make sure the customer flow is efficient, and we even communicated with our concerns before writing this review. And this place failed us, twice. (Reading from the previous responses from management... they seem to need proof to take any reviews seriously. So I'm attaching the proof for your convenience.)

Yelp
Exceptionally good Szechuan food. It gets super busy here during the weekend so try going during the off hours or get your name on the list a couple hrs before they close. They close the waitlist probably about an hr before closing since they get real busy on the weekend. It can get busy during the weekdays as well. We waited about 15 mins for a table on a weekday, and there were plenty of folks waiting after we were seated. Easy to order in the restaurant and the servers are really sweet, esp ours with her cool dragon tattoo. Definitely our go to for Szechuan food. We ordered the bone in chicken, shrimp fried rice, intestines on hot plate, and green beans in salted egg yolk. The chicken was my favorite. Intestines were best I've had.

Yelp
Conveniently located close to Northgate Mall getting there is is easy enough to get there via Lightrail, bus or car. If you're looking for Southern Chinese/Canton style food, you'll have to look else where. But if your looking for Sichuan with the strong flavours and spice then you've come to the right place. They have a large touch screen waitlist for you to put your name and party down. Once you're seated, you scan the QR code on the table and start ordering! Us, being a party of 5 we ordered: - Cured Pork sauteed with King Oyster Mushroom $15.99 - Tea-Smoked Duck (half) $18.99 - One Bite Lamb Skewers $18.99 - Bean Curd with Salted Egg Yolk $16.99 - Yummy Pork Spareribs $18.99 - Five Spiced Beef $10.99 - Potstickers $6.99 - Cumin Curried Chicken and Potato (half) $18.99 - Rice bowl $1.49 x5 Not everything we ordered was spicy. So if spicy is a factor order the Bean Curd with Salted Egg Yolk or the duck. Everything was flavourful and delicious! Sharing dishes is a must and so is getting some rice. They also had some really great tea drink. Was it a lot of food? Yes. Did we have lots of left over? Yes. But its not a terrible thing.

Yelp
Mid size Chinese restaurant. It's located in the complex with the Target and Best Buy, just north of Northgate Mall. Went there for lunch on a Saturday. There were a decent amount of people, but we didn't have to wait for a table for two. They are known for Sichuan cuisine, but the menu is pretty big and seem to have a bit of other Chinese cuisines. We got the fried mantou (steamed buns) with condensed milk for starters. Fried mantou is one of my favorite dishes from childhood, and theirs was alright. Wished the mantou was a little bigger, but it was still reasonably crispy and well-fried on the outside. For dishes, we got the salted egg yolk stir fry green beans, which was delicious. The saltiness of the egg yolk goes well with the succulent green beans. We also got the dry pot with chopped pork ribs. The dry pot also had plenty of green beans, and a decent amount of meat. We asked for low spice, so it wasn't overly spicy. The flavor was good, but dish was a bit salty. Needed to eat this with rice to even it out. Overall, food was decent. We finished everything except the beans in the dry pot. Total was $70 including tax and tip.

Yelp
I went to the restaurant but ordered take out. I didn't realize they had a proper sit down eating area. Went right when they opened for lunch and prolly took about 15min for my food to be ready. They have a giant screen when you walk in and can order from. It threw me off how big it was lol. Yang Zhou Fried Rice - slightly oily but it was okay. Had spam, shrimp, eggs, peas and corns. Thought all the toppings went well together and had great flavor. Would get again Sichuan shredded pork - skinny pork pieces (wonder if they're crispy if not take out) and what I assume are bamboo, mushroom and bell pepper strips in a spicy sauce. Honestly I expected it to be spicier and numby-er lol. Maybe I'll add a few peppercorns myself, or maybe ask them to make it spicier

Yelp
Ordered golden fried mini buns, cashew prawns, mango coconut sago, spicy beef noodle soup, and spicy fish with tofu. Close to 5 stars. If I went with just my wife and not my kids I wouldn't have ordered nonspicy dishes, and this would have been 5 stars. Fish was fantastic and met all expectations, tofu at the bottom was even better. Noodle soup did not meet my standards even though it was what I was looking forward to the most. Not spicy enough and not fragrant. Mini buns were fried to perfection and I had to fight my kids for a share.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch and it was not too busy. The space is very spacious and open. There was a little confusion whether I could pay with my phone signing up for their account or with credit card. You could do either. Scanned the QR code for the menu. Food came out within 15 minutes. The twice cooked pork lunch came with rice and soup. Pork was a little dry, but the flavors were tasty with medium spiciness. It was a bit too much oil for me. I had leftovers to last me 2 more meals at home! I would return to try other dishes.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in Washington! Everything I've had so far has been sooo good! When I first entered the restaurant, I got so hungry from the smell of the food. Please note that this is not a Cantonese style restaurant. This restaurant serves Sichuan peppercorns, which is Chinese numbing spice in which the lips and tongue feel as though they are vibrating and go vaguely numb. - 藤椒鱼片 Fish Fillets with Rattan Peppers : So flavorful and so good. This dish is best eaten with white rice. I like to take the broth home and add it to veggies. - 重庆辣子鸡 Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper : So flavorful and so good. I like to take the chilis home and add it to veggies. - 金沙豆腐 Bean Curd w/ Salted Egg Yolk : Salted egg yolk on anything taste better! This dish is best eaten with white rice. - 金沙四季豆 String Beans Sautéed with Salted Egg Yolk : Salted egg yolk on anything taste better! - 千里香排骨 Yummy Pork Spareribs : YUMMY! - 芒果椰汁西米露 Mango Coconut Tapioca Pudding : Great ending to a spicy dinner. Make sure you get yourself on their reward system. If you collect enough points, you'll get FREE entrees! If you order to go, they take extra care in wrapping up your to-go order! I really appreciate that! Definitely come here! I love this place!

Yelp
Went in expecting a buffet and found something else. I tried the House Cured Pork Belly Fried Rice and was pleasantly surprised. At $13.99, you are given a large amount of food that you'll probably take home for later. Rice comes with egg, plenty of peas, carrots, and smoked pork. The potstickers were 8.99 and were fried a crispy golden brown. Wonderful taste although the accompanying sauce was far too salty. They open at 11am and have plenty of seating.

Yelp
Bro I've had zero interactions with Chinese food. It's so dam on point. Gets a Hell yeah /10. Good stuff bro. It's savory and spicy and you know it's good when literally no one there speaks English.

Yelp
Pretty authentic northern & spicy Chinese food. We ordered the Beans with Salted Egg Yolk, Pig Trotter Soup, Pork Short Rib, Braised Pork Intestines, and Golden Fried Mini Buns. Everything was great except the Pork ribs, which was kind of tasteless and dry. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for sure, but not the Pork rib.

Yelp
Definitely a nice option for more authentic Chinese cuisine in this part of town. They specialize in Szechuan food, so food can be a little spicy. My favorite dish is their mapo tofu, which is the perfect comfort food on a cold rainy day. It's not in your face spicy but definitely has a bit of a kick. The beef with scallions is like a Mongolian beef but not as sweet. The kung pao chicken was also not too sweet which I liked. The Peking shredded pork was very tender, but turned out to be the sweetest dish. The fried rice here is also really good. Service is interesting. Like some of the restaurants in ID, you order through a QR code. There was a hick up with the order as our rice didn't come out so we had to flag down a server. But overall, it went smoothly. Definitely a good place for take out as well!

Yelp
FIRST TIME DINING IN in over a year!! Came here for the good review on a Saturday afternoon, got here around 5 and it was empty. Order everything by scanning their QR code, and the staff will check your temperature at entrance. We got our food in less than 10 minutes, and all 4 dishes were really tasty. The Kung Pao Chicken & the shredded pork tasted too sweet than spicy. Portion is huge too, definitely family style. Is it inflation or am I just poor? Lol Four dishes were ~$60 before tips. Easy parking and friendly staff. Overall it was a good experience, we might check out their Bellevue location in the future.

Yelp
After going to the Tian Fu in Factoria near where I live I have been craving more Sichuanese food and have been wanting to go back. Since my family and I were in North Seattle, we decided to grab dinner at the Northgate location, which is much more spacious and has very great decor and vibes. The food was amazing. We have tried the toothpick lamb, Sichuanese eggplant, hot griddle pig intestines, and the maoxuewang, all delightful choices! As with the Factoria location, my favorite was the eggplant. I also want to add that while I am not a fan of maoxuewang due to its oiliness, I really enjoyed the one they served here and how abundant it is in fish fillet, pig intestines, and blood curd. If I'm up with a big group in North Seattle, I am coming back here!
