I wasn’t sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place. But when we visited here, we had a fantastic time. True, there was quite a lot to be desired of the service but they were not disrepectful or anything. Food was absolutely good too. And reasonably good amount per order. All in all, we really enjoyed our time here. It is apparently has a Michelin star. One of the good options at Boat Quay for good local Singaporean food. I greatly enjoyed the Pineapple fried rice, Green mango salad, and Fish skin in salted egg sauce.

I recently dined at Tian Tian Fisherman’s Pier Seafood Restaurant, and it was truly a remarkable experience from start to finish! The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the flavors are spot on. The variety of dishes offered was impressive, and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The chili crab and garlic prawns were the highlights of the night – bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and even offered great recommendations that did not disappoint. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it perfect for both family dinners and special occasions. The presentation of the dishes was also beautiful – it’s clear they take pride in what they do. Overall, I cannot recommend Tian Tian Fisherman’s Pier enough. If you’re a seafood lover or simply looking for an amazing dining experience, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Set lunch is a valuable choice. Half chicken is well fried that was served with crispy skin. Inner a little dry, but not that wooden. Fast servicing.

Google
Tasty food but relatively expensive-$100 for 3 plates-service attentive by two very hard working staff. Appreciated the riverside seat on request.

Google
Amazing food! Great views - came for just a drink stayed for a long time having beers and drinks. Were great with allergies.

Google
Nice atmosphere. Seated near river and gorgeous night view of the city. Food was terrible. The half dozen fresh oysters were not fresh at all and cost $90! And the fish as well at over $100. We ordered another 2 cold dishes. Total bill $315. Not worth.

Google
The food taste is honestly not bad. Employee is also trying to make customer happy. The serving speed is a little slow. However the biggest issue is their price. Generally you get a small size dish and pay middle size price. They charged $57 for a small beef showing in the picture. Rip-off or Market Price for the nice view at this location? You can decide with your wallet but I say they know what they are doing and is intentionally taking advantage of the tourist crowd!

Yelp
Food. Tasty enough (3/5) food but not at the restaurant's price point. Total price (1/5) for food shown was S$86, including 2 beers (one Tiger; one Guinness Stout), and a Diet Coke. Quantities (2/5) were on the smaller side. Service (2/5). Two issues. Upon sitting, we were asked for our drink order before having seen the menu. My husband asked if they had any dark beers. The waitress recommended and he ordered "Tiger", which was not dark. Upon getting the menu, he found that the restaurant did in fact have Guinness Stout, so he ended up buying two beers instead of his intended one. Also, after we placed our order, the waitress tried to up-sale us, giving the impression that what we had ordered wouldn't enough food, and trying to direct us to add some even more expensive seafood items than what we ordered. Price. (1/5). As mentioned, expensive for what you get. Also, this is laughable and rather insignificant in the scheme of things BUT, we were given two towelettes instead of napkins when our plates came. We found later that we were charged S$0.60 each for these. We didn't complain because we had already used them. However, the ambiance of this restaurant is great. We had a river-side table with views of singapore's sparkling evening lights. Just be careful not to fall in the water as there is only a lowly-placed chain between your chair and the water!

Yelp
TOURIST TRAP - You are paying a premium for the location. Make sure you ask the price and total weight for items that are marked market price. Remember the market price they give you is per Kilo. Some items on the menu do not come out looking the same in the picture menu. There are better tasting places in singapore minus the view. 1 star for the view and 1 star for the live seafood in the front of restaurant.

Yelp
Got offered 30% off bill and free drinks to lure us in the door. Sat down with family ordered two 2kg chili king crabs 1 pitcher of beer, Singapore sling, bread. Got charged over $3300 SGD. Yes $3300. Thats over $2400 in US Dollars for 10kgs of salty, chewy crab. Complained about the bill, male and female owners get loud said we misunderstood the broken english. Brother pays with credit/debit card out of embarrasment. We get back to the USA, called (cost another $70 in phone charges) and emailed a bunch of Singaporean governmental tourist agencies (CASE and STB) to complain and was told that Tian Tian fishermans pier would like to offer a one time 10% goodwill refund ($110) in cash but we have to pick it up in person at the restuarant. Wrote a letter and complained to Singapore tourism board and consumer association of Singapore stating that $110 dollars is not worth the 23 hour flight or the money spent to fly there again. Was told the 10% goodwill refund offer made by Tian Tian seafood restuarant still stands. So basically, they are all in it together, scamming tourist like us. The entire boat quay area is a scam. Google it and youtube it. I wish I did before I stepped foot in that thieves den. Spread the word, share this and lets watch these thieves starve when hard working tourists like us stop falling for their traps. Come to find out after all the research. Tian Tian seafood restuarant uses the same menu from the old Forum seafood restuarant that was shut down for scamming tourists a couple of years back. Same owners same operation, different name. Google forum seafood in Singapore and you will see the scams being pulled on hardworking tourists. Im 100% certain these are the same crooks. Yelp
Sat here for the view and it seemed like there were more ppl here than anywhere else... Deceiving. It's wasn't bad... But it wasn't very good either. I ordered the Thai Curry and it seemed watered down. Just OK for the price. My side of veggies didn't arrive until after i was done with the curry which was inconvenient and no apologies were made. Service wasn't all that great either so I'd recommend elsewhere unless you are here for the view!

Scott R.

Yelp
This was great! Oh man...that Black Pepper Crab is the bomb. Delicious, so flavorful on the pepper without being too much heat (spicy, not hot). Savory, just the right salty, and tons of meat in the crab. I got the Sri Lanka crab, but if you have the budget, there's Alaskan King as well. The service was wonderful. Checked on me several times. I'm so glad I took them up on their offer to tie a bib on me. :) They were upfront on the pricing. It's listed on the menu and they worked with me to find a crab and weight/kg that was ok for me. Great view, sitting right on the water looking at the river and Marina Bay Sands.

Yelp
Total tourist trap. Terrible service. Nickeled and dimed for everything; I swear I wouldn't be surprised if we got charged for our napkins. Portion sizes were a joke. You're paying to hang out on Boat Quay and that's it. Stay away from this place, folks.

Bob U.

Yelp
there are so many places to get crab and seafood at Boat Quay and Clarke Quay this is not worth the extremely high price. the hard sell is especially aggressive but if you ask, they'll give you free beer if you eat there. but I never will again. one extra star for the free beer

Claire L.

Yelp
Over priced, menu does not reflect what is on offer (don't be fooled with the pictures) and food not great. Couldn't get into Jumbo Seafood and ended up here. No napkins, two little packs of towel wipes provided. Naturally after eating seafood, you'd use them. You are actually charged for them. Dining companion got chilli chicken with red onion skin in it. The hard stuff. Minute bits of chicken, not even the equivalent of a thigh. I had one prawn. One. Free peanuts not free, poor food, expensive and avoid!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Eat here if you have the money to get scammed. A lobster will cost you $500+. The servers will pull you over and ask you to eat at their restaurant. I was foolish enough to fall for a free bottle of Tiger Beer. The food was horrible for its price. Everything on the menu was pretty much $100+. They will push you into getting expensive items. The price is by grams so don't be fooled by their 50% discount because even with the discount, each item will easily break $100+. Water is tap and their service is horrible. They even charge for the table cloth. Just another reminder, go here if you're rich and lack taste buds.

Yelp
I wish I didn't have to give them any stars! We visited Forum Seafood on the evening of July 24th. The guy standing in the street convinced us to come sit down because he would give two rounds of free drinks. Upon sitting, we were told we could only choose between a Tiger beer, house white wine, or soft drink. They then delivered us a plate of peanuts and ever mentioned that you actually paid for the peanuts. Then when we ordered our drink and appetizer, we tried to get the guy to go away and let us look at the menu. He wouldn't leave. Instead, he continued to pressure us to order the crab. So finally, we did. Thank goodness we only ordered one crab. The prices were so ambiguous and were hard to understand and we were never given even just a moment to try and understand it all. When we got our bill, we understood why! We were charged $208 per kg, and supposedly we ordered 1.7kg (or 4 lbs of crab). Maybe with the shell it would have been .5 kg but there is no way that we had that much! And we sure as hell would not have ordered the crab if it was even over $40 per kg!!! This restaurant obviously makes it's money off of one time guests who are severely overcharged to such a point of shock and disbelief. Stay away!!!

Yelp
Misleading transactions and average food, bad service and shoddy cleanliness. The sales person at this riverside restaurant was keen to get us in and offered 30% off our bill. We confirmed by asking if it was for all items on menu. She answered "Yes". The food was "alright" but service was awful with forgotten orders, wrong orders and delays. The table had ants on it coming from the steamboat burner cavity. When the bill came they had given the 30% discount for fried rice and baby kailan. The Staff also said aloud - "I have given you 30% discount". Unfortunately, we missed checking each item is discounted or not. This resulted in the bill of SGD 74.15 becoming = SGD 109.46! - which was much higher than as per the agreed discount. For this reason - the type of misleading transactions and average food, bad service and shoddy cleanliness - would strongly warn all customers to avoid this place!

Paola C.

Yelp
Ridiculously overpriced and terrible service. Food tastes ok but it's 100% not worth the price. Prices on the menu are per 100g and crabs will allegedly weight around 1.5kgs so you could end up getting charged 150 sgd for a single crab. Total tourist trap.

Bill S.

Yelp
The meal I felt was over priced for the results. I should've read the reviews before dining here. There are 40 other restaurants in this area, all within a few meters, and I chose the one that looked popular, big mistake. Bland and small portions for the price.

Alex L.

Yelp
These people try to scam you. Multiple tables argued their bill. Plus beware of the actual price of crab - they quote per 100g, with the crabs going for 1.5-1.7 kilos. So at 30 SGD you can easily eat a 500 SGD for a crab - a piece of info that is easily missed.

R J.

Yelp
We have never eaten here because we do not like the "hustle" that employees are "required" to perform to attract customers. A truly good place will attract customers on the merits of its food & service. No hustle needed. Having said that however, we do periodically stop here for drinks because of the view, & the personnel are all very friendly & service-oriented. The food served always looks good & well presented, but the seafood is far higher than similar restaurants. Local dishes on the contrary, are not priced as high & provide better value.

Sanjay R.

Yelp
This is a price scam place! They will entice you with some free beer options -- and then scam you on the price of the food. The menu is misleading, and prices are listed on a "per 100 gram" basis. This detail is easily missed. They then bring you a 1.5KG item and charge you USD250 for a so-so lobster or crab you did not even want. Highly avoidable unless you watch the price like a hawk.

Asha P.

Yelp
Dont go here. Good food. Not amazing. Bad service. They barely checked up on us and were very slow on basic requests like asking for a refill on water. WAY OVERPRICED. 130 for a fish?? No. That's ludicrous. I hate that i wasted my time and money on such a meal. Don't recommend this place.

Gurudatt P.

Yelp
I wish there was a way to say this place has no rating at all. These guys are just trying to make their money by ripping off all the tourists that walk past their restaurant. While the menu seems attractive, the food is the worst ever you would ever have in Singapore for the price you pay when the cheque arrives. Well, you actually end up paying more than what you would pay at a 5 star hotel. Never fall into their free drinks and discount trap if you ever walk past their restaurant.

Yelp
I had to threaten the owner with calling the police because they overcharged us so much. The waitress told us we would be getting 2 crabs that weighed a total of 1.25kg, but they charged us for 3 kg, 1.5kg each. The waitress explained to us that they could not possibly charge 1.25kg for 2 crabs and I responded that is not what you told us before we ordered, then I told her there is no possible way that the crabs we ate weighed 1.5kg each. I demanded to see a crab weighed, so the waitress picked up the biggest crab in their tank and showed it weighed 1.5kg. I then walked back to my table, picked up my plate of crab with the entire shell body of the crab we ate and showed her how much smaller it was. She said she would charge us 1.25kg each and I said no way. I asked to weigh the smallest crab they had on display, and it weighed 1.1kg and it was bigger than both of the crabs we ate. I then inspected their scale and I showed them that it was not set correctly and that it was weighing heavier than it should, they denied it, and I had to blatantly point it out to them. I asked them how many other customers they had done this too and they did not answer. They charged me for .8kg each and they acted like they were doing me a favor. This place is a total scam, absolutely no integrity. I am still thinking about filing a police report for fraud.

Yelp
Tian Tian 73, 74, 75 Boat Quay. Avoid this place like the plague. I can't say enough bad about Tian Tian. Rip off with horrible service. It's overpriced and the service is the worst. Dinner was $120 for 2 "entrees" (if you can call them that), no salad, no appetizers, no dessert, entrees only. I ordered Pad Thai $26. The menu showed a large portion. The waitress said if it was just for me, I should consider the small portion, which I did. The small portion was the size of a small salad plate with very little Pad Thai on the plate, certainly not heaping like in the U.S. And wait for it... the small portion was also $26! I'm not a big eater but I was still very hungry afterwards and went out to a different restaurant for more food (after spending $120!). The $120 dinner was served on plastic plates. There was trash strewn around the floor (napkins and wet towel wrappers) no one had any interest in picking up during the 2 hours we were there (yes 2 hours just to get an entrée). The trash issue was particularly bad as it all ends up in the river the restaurant sits on. My Pad Thai was brought out long before my husband's $72 chili crab (which they said was the smallest they had). So my Pad Thai was cold by the time they brought my husband's dinner (and they weren't very busy this evening either, they just have no interest in good service). I asked for lime for the Pad Thai as was shown on the menu but they only had lemon. When they brought the chili crab, my husband had to ask for a crab cracker (I'm not really sure how they thought he could eat a whole crab without a crab cracker). I had to actually get up and ask for a fork TWICE! Later my husband had to get up and hunt someone down to ask for the bill. Then he had to get up and deliver the bill to them. If you're counting, that's 4 times we had to get up and round up a server. To go with the $72 crab they suggested 2 small buns for which they charged $4. They couldn't even provide bread with a $72 crab! Then they also charged us .60 cents for the wet wipes for after eating a crab in googey sauce with your hands. To top it all off, the Pad Thai was among the worst I've had but what did I expect for $26 on a plastic plate? The ONLY good things were 1. the Chili Crab was good and 2. they offered a "free" Welcome Drink. But THAT was it, everything else was awful.

Yelp
Got the steamed red Garupa fish which ended up costing $130 along with three Thai sides. Fish was served cold. I would never eat here again, just avoid it at all costs...

Jae Hyuck J.

Yelp
I would never go there again. I ordered stone crab that costs $100 but apparently it worths less than one dollar sausage from CVS. The portion was way too small because of the crab has nothing to eat. I could say It was almost empty inside. It's totally over priced. I wanted to avoid arguing but when the argument started, It seems like they never listen to the customers. To sum up, worst food worst service. I feel like cheated and this made my trip to Singapore really messed up.
