Excellent unique food. We had chicken chow mein, chilly chicken, both were quite spicy and bursting with flavor. Mango lassi. Yum tall glass Then vegetarian momo steamed to start. My daughter also had sushi. All items excellent. momo a bit different than Chinese dumplings We went on a rainy Saturday around 5pm. No wait 30% of tables filled. Usually there is a wait. Very affordable at $56 including tip.

Loved the flavors, servers were kind and accommodating to our spice levels, and gave great recommendations. You would think in a fusion place, one of them has to be compromised. But the Tibetan dishes we ordered were so good, full of flavor, spice, sour, savory, and with a kick. And the sashimi was actually pretty fresh, fresher than other casual Japanese restaurants in queens. Price is very reasonable as well. Place is not super big so you may have to wait a little when it’s busy. We waited 15 min but no big deal. It’s worth it. I would def come back. Entering the area I was almost immediately greeted and ordered the food I had an interest in within a decent time frame so service is pretty good. I stuck with ordering mainly Japanese dishes I was familiar with because not many of the Tibetian dishes caught my eye. I had the chicken Teriyaki Lunch Box along with Shrimp Tempura Sushi and Lemon Iced tea. The food was good and pretty affordable.

It was wonderful spending time here with my friends, the food was fresh and it came faster. Environment was pretty fresh and good.

The food is great and the sushi was fresh and great portions! Service was a great as the food! The sizzling mo mo’s was so tasty and the right amount of spice. The hand rolls were delicious and full of color!

Humble little asian restaurant in Queens. The menu is indeed a mix of Tibetan and Japanese food. Personally, I opted for momos here and it was good. I have yet to try other menu options. They also had an interesting lasuni Gobi which I always knew to be an Indian dish. This variety was different but also good. Would stop by for some more food one day

Had a good lunch. Tuna avocado salad and shrimp Shumai were good. Chilly chicken with gravy was a bit over cooked and hard to chew. Nice service and a clean place. Will def go back. 😋👍‼️

It took me a little time to wrap my head around fusion of Tibetan and Japanese cuisine that I'd find at the Jackson Heights Tibetan Japanese Restaurant, but decided to go with items that I hadn't yet experienced - Sushi Pizza and Cheley Khatsa, the Tibetan specialty with tongue. As a big fan of tongue, my mouth watered. The waitress asked me how spicy I wanted it, so I requested mild to ensure it wasn't going to burn my mouth. The Sushi Pizza was tasty, although thought some may think it was a little pricey for the size. The flavorful tongue in the Cheley Khatsa was tender, as expected. Glad I didn't get it spicier! It came with white rice, which helped. Although I'm not often in this section of Jackson Heights, might consider stopping by another time to check out other specialties. Recommend you check it out as well.

I have only eaten sushi and momos here so that's what I'm reviewing. Sushi is OKAY. Put together kind of sloppy, shows that the chef isn't very experienced. It's also very overpriced for the quality that you get. Chicken momo was delicious! The hot sauce doesn't have much flavor but the inside was juicy, flavorful and packed with Tibetan spices.

Service is friendly although there is a language barrier the lady is very nice and tries to answer all questions. It's a laid-back casual atmosphere. It's dimly lit but you dint feel blind. The food is clean, simple and tasty. The momos take a long time to come out but it's worth the wait. The beef momos were juicy and the meat was nice. The momo itself was a good consistency not being too thick or chewy. The Szechuan noodles were spicy even ordered mild but it was a spice that tingles your tongue. I really enjoyed them. The chicken in the noodles could be better. It was crispy and didn't feel meaty more like a chewy shell. The soup was soothing. I like that it wasn't salty and it was comforting. The meat in it could have been more tender. I wish they added more vegetables to it like carrots. It only came with bok choy. The steamed broccoli is nice. It is pricey but steamed well abd they give a lot. The food is filling and tasty. I like mixing the soy sauce and the hot sauce in the squirt bottle together. Mera's Tip: more momos

Dropped into Tibetan Japanese after my usual sushi spot was closed for renovations -- and honestly, I might have just found another new favorite spot. Jackson Heights NEVER disappoints, and this place fits right into the vibe: cozy, unpretentious, no fuss, warm, and quietly confident in what it does. The name alone piqued my curiosity, and the menu backs it up. I was looking for sushi and they have a healthy list of solid Japanese options, along with Tibetan dishes that I am unfamiliar with besides momos but now definitely interested in trying more of. Enjoyed: * Sushi pizza --a tuna and avocado seared sashimi, with a spring mix & mango salad. * Spicy tuna and salmon avocado rolls * Tonkatsu platter -- what looked like 3 & a half crispy, & flavorful cutlets, with a side cup of steamed white rice. * Sha Bhakleb --Tibetan deep-fried beef/chicken patties-- think empanadas, and yeah, I'd come back just for these. * Tonkatsu bento box -- typical bento: tonkatsu serving, steamed white rice, 4-piece California roll, deep fried Tibetan spring roll & deep fried veggie dumplings. Service was spot-on. Staff was warm, attentive, and made a point to double-check dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. A full glass liter bottle of chilled water --loved it. The food hit the table inside of 15 minutes, and every dish was perfect. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made well, with care. No gimmicks, solid food with great energy. Whoever is doing the deep fry is a master at it. Master. This is a laid-back spot full heart with no-nonsense, no-disappointment on delivery. Worth being on anyone's list of haunts in Jackson Heights.

We visited here during the 12th annual momo crawl to try their mom's of course. Stations were set up outside so we did not go into the establishment nor look at a menu. We tried a beef and a veggie Momo.both were very good and served with a slaw which was light, refreshing, and palette cleansing. I would come back again.

We came here to try Tibetan Momo's not japanese food. We had steam chicken Momos they were ok good flavor, the sizzling momos was much better than steamed it is nice and spicy sauce, and spicy chilly chicken it was OK, later found out that the dry chilly chicken is much better.

Loved luncheon time- day off! Friendly service by Muskan! Thoroughly enjoyed every dish/course. Truly a very nice place to dine out.

Solid place for sushi bites. I've hesitated on getting food here for so long because there's no way to order online, but my craving for sushi was extreme, and this place was so close, I caved. Placing an order online via telephone call, it did take about 25-30 minutes before I could pick up my order. I ordered the salmon avocado, spicy tuna, and tuna roll. The rolls are definitely bigger than average and I think getting two rolls would suffice for a meal. There's a bit more rice than I would normally like, but it makes for a filling meal. Would definitely come here again!

The service is very friendly and welcome. I tried the sizzling beef momo and requested it be extra spicy. It's such a fun treat having it come to the table sizzling. I inhaled the spice and thought it was going to die because it made me cough, but surprisingly I didn't think it was particularly spicy. I wouldn't say it was my favorite, but happy to have tried it

The food here is really good. The beef tripe, the chowmein and the chicken chilly are really delicious. We go often and my kids also love their food, especially the shaphaglebs.

3.5 stars Wanted to try Tibetan food and the Japanese menu was good for the others in the group. Would be helpful if there were descriptions for all the menu items bec I had to google some of them. Seems like most dishes I wanted to try were spicy but we asked to be made mild or no spice. Anyway, chili on the table. Cheley khatsa - tender tongue slices, sauteed with bell peppers and onions. Pork chilly - sauteed sliced pork pieces with similar veggies as tongue dish. Opted for dry as recommended which was good, instead of with sauce. Tasty with mild spice. Mango lasse at $3.50 is good esp when eating spicy food. Dinner bento box and tonkatsu entree are big servings and are worth the price. White laphing is rice jelly-like with chickpeas and chili toppings, in a watery liquid. Waitstaff said it was a soup but a bit spicy for me so just ate the pieces. Didn't expect Phing sha to be a soup (so not as described on menu). Beef is a little chewy, with potatoes, spinach, mushrooms and bean thread noodle. Mild broth. Similar to a filipino soup dish called Nilaga which I already make it at home. Ramen noodle soup was bland. Beef was chewy as well. Steamed beef Momos are good with the chili sauce. Service is great. Very casual eatery. A little bit dark in the indoor dining area. Has 2 outdoor areas but not when it's cold or rainy.

3rd time here, got the salmon poke bowl last night. The servings were too big for us. It was pretty spicy too. The pork contains rice, salmon, cucumber, carrot, mushroom, seaweed salad. Besides the spicy was, it was pretty decent. The time I can before that, we got sushi rolls which were decent as well, don't remember which type since it's been a yr. My friend also got dumplings. The food took awhile to serve which the server informed it'd take.

Found this little spot in Jackson heights in the mix of all the million places to eat in the area. I ordered their vegetable momos, sushi pizza, and yellowtail sushi rolls. The momos were delicious, they had spinach and cheese inside. The sushi pizza was super tasty, it had spicy salmon, jalapeños, spicy Mayo, rice and seaweed. The yellow tail rolls were a little plain but still tasty. The place is not aesthetically the best but the food makes up for it.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Tibetan Japanese Restaurant the other evening. The sushi was extremely fresh and delicious. We also had assorted momos , chilly shrimp , chicken Manchurian, Udan noodles Everything was excellent ! Our servicer was very courteous, prompt and professional. Would recommend to all!

I Ordered takeout from there on New Year's Eve . I ordered a whole bunch of stuff on the menu from both the Japanese side and the Tibetan side .to begin, I think it would be a great idea to number each item on the menu so non Tibetans can actually order in ease without spelling out every letter of the Tibetan dish... it was kinda annoying and time consuming going back and forth confirming whether I got the right order or not . Also asking the lady asked me to pay over the phone even tho i told her that I am picking up and demanded that I give her my credit card number over the phone . I had to run inside to swipe my card risking getting a parking ticket because I was parked on a hydrant. All because she wouldn't put in the order if i don't pay first . I asked the lady how long and she said 30-40 mins ... I thought to myself that's awefully long for a pickup order but ok . I went in after 20 mins just to see if the food is ready and there it is. My food was waiting there for who knows how long ...they could have called me to let me know the food is ready so the food doesn't get cold. Now I got the food and drove off . Thank goodness I didn't get a ticket parking at a hydrant . About 3 blocks away , I got a phone call from the restaurant saying I left a bag of food at the restaurant... I said what do you mean I LEFT my food there. u never gave it to me .. now I am super annoyed since I was already extremely hungry and everyone is waiting for me to come home with food aside from no parking avail to Even go and get the food . The server was apologetic and came out to drop off the food. Now the food part. I ordered the sushi sashimi combo deluxe. The first thing I notice is how thin they cut the fish . I paid 49.99 for it and i am pretty much getting half of what I am supposed to get. One of the shrimp sushi is missing a piece of the shrimp ...I also got this card then thug. It's basically flat noodle soup with beef. Not sure I will ever go back after this experiment.

2.5 stars Loved my first time here years ago so returned for some sushi since reviews were still pretty positive lately but again cannot trust everything on Yelp. Got the sushi/sashimi combo with dragon roll. Ordered 2 extra rolls since my mom doesn't eat sushi. The eel cucumber was mostly cucumber. The shrimp tempura roll was cut into thin slices, my mom couldn't tell what it was. I posted a pic. Dragon roll, couldn't taste the eel. The sushi/sashimi were very bland. They put cheap pieces like fake crab, masago. Really not worth the $70. I'm glad they were able to leave off the sauces on the sushi rolls but the proteins in the rolls were so tiny... the rolls tasted like veggie sushi. Lots of rice but very little fish/eel. Very disappointed with the portions and the quality. Could've been fresher.. Again I really enjoyed my first time here years ago, but I guess with Covid and inflation, they're very skimpy with the fish. I would not come back.

Came across this restaurant during the Momo Crawl. They had 3 options: beef, chicken and vegetarian momos. My friend and I ordered all three. They were good. Steamed and tasted like traditional Asian dumplings. Currently this restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating. Would like to go back and try their sushi.

Came in for lunch. Had the chow mien, spicy fried rice and beef momo. Really enjoyed the meal as Tibetan approach to these dishes are a bit different. Which made things more of an experience. Although the establishment is small, they try to do their best to accommodate so folks be patient as it does get busy.

I visited this place after a long time. They served delicious foods during my last visit. So wanted to give this place a try again. Started with their butter tea, which was awesome. For those who are unfamiliar with butter tea , it's the drink of the people in the Himalayan region of Nepal, Bhutan , Tibet. It's made from tea leaves, butter , water, and salt. Next, I tried Wai Wai sadheko . It was awesome. Their gyathuk is also good. Momo was good. The only complaint I have is that they only have spicy sauce for the momo. I wish they would serve other sauce behind spicy for the momos. Overall, the food served here is very delicious. I will definitely visit next time and try their sushi and other foods.

The review is solely based on financial transactions. I loved this place and I've always been coming here . I've also always recommended this place to my friends and families .but the last time I visited here , they charged me the tips on my card when I had left a cash tip . This is absolutely ridiculous and such a bummer because I truly loved this place . Never returning here .

Momos doesn't have meat , I mean stuffing , very smal filling , need to work on this , you guys charging more than 10 dollars , rest of the food is good , please work on this thank

They have so much options but very limited options for vegetarians. Their momo was not the best choice because it wasn't that good as the price. Also their potion was small too. Sushi looks good but I haven't tried it yet. Restaurant it self is good and clean. Service is better than other Tibetan restaurants!

Utterly incompetent as if you were eating food prepared by a Tibetan college student. Room temp tepid laphing, "sushi" that barely qualifies. The Japanese food served here is a disgrace and the Tibetan food here does not even remotely compare to other neighborhood betters.

It was pretty good I wouldn't say the go to for sushi. Like Japanese side, the rolls weren't tight enough just basically I have had better.

This has been on my radar for a while and on a rainy cold night it seemed like the perfect choice for sizzling momo and authentic Tibetan soup. The menu had a good variety of both Tibetan and Japanese food, but we only had food off the Tibetan menu. Everything was served steaming hot and fresh. We ordered the spicy fried rice, sizzling momo (chicken), and the Then Thug soup. The soup was most definitely a star for me, but the momo had my partner's heart. We also ordered the butter tea was which was different for us both and although not a personal favorite I could tell it was popular among patrons.

Tibetan food was a bit watery and lacked salt while the Japanese food was equally bland, the sushi rice was regular unseasoned rice and the seaweed was stale or wet, definitely not stored in a dry place. The salmon was okay, the tuna was probably slightly beyond the date since it tasted a bit too much like iron.

Been wanting to try this place out and we came cause we were around the neighborhood. This place is always packed but we came on a Sunday around 4pm and it wasn't too bad. We ordered salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, tuna tataki, fried chicken momo, beef shabaley, beef chow mein & beef thentuk. All the food were really good, especially the fried chicken momo and chowmein. Sushi was decent, no complaints. I got an allergic reaction from the sauce in the tuna tataki so I think next time we will skip that or order without the sauce. Service was good, the waitress was really friendly and she gave our baby a lollipop for Valentine's Day :) The only downside from this restaurant is there was only one heater in the whole restaurant and one customer demanded that the heater be placed directly next to their table. The door doesn't close all the way and cold wind kept coming in.

This place is always packed and there is a line out the door so I decided to try it out. I waited 15 minutes to get a table. The spicy tuna roll was decent, like sushi you get at the market. The Tibetan ramen with beef had no flavor. They just called it ramen because of the noodles. I will not be visiting again. Not sure what the hype is for.

I stopped here for the first time tonight, just for quick takeout. My beef thentuk arrived quickly (and they invited me to sit at the only free table while waiting). Watching the other dishes come out, I started to regret just ordering soup. The people at the tables were clearly having a great time. I paid, left, and then realized when I was nearly home that I had forgotten my phone. I was a mile away but then, so I went home, had some thenthuk (excellent!), and headed back. Although I arrived after their posted closing time, they had my phone (with my IDs, MTA card, and credit cards) ready for me. Very grateful to have this place in the neighborhood!

Every culture has this. And there is no better place in the world than in ultra-diverse New York City to see most types. - A.k.a. dumplings, potstickers, siomai, gyoza, manti, pierogi, mandu, samosa, empanada, wonton, siopao, guija, pelmeni, khinkali, etc ... - When prehistoric men settled down in communities, they developed farming ... - that produced surplus grains -that was then turned to flour - that was then shaped various forms - that was then stuffed or flavored in every way possible - that was then baked, steamed, boiled, fried or grilled. For the Tibetans, it's steamed "momo". Found in this restaurant in Woodside, Queens that makes amazing ones.

I love their beef momos. That flavorful meaty flavor. I would highly recommend this spot for dinner. The restaurant is cozy, and there's a group of people lining up to get in. The waitress was pretty awesome, and approachable. I was excited to try this place, and I am excited that I had an opportunity to try it. I sure hope to return soon. I recommend this place to my friends.

My favorite restaurant in the area great food amazing staff. Definitely go here y'all! The sushi is fresh i know alot of places that do sushi and other types of food aren't the best but the sushi is good here. Also the empanada like thing is amazing

One of my go-to spots for Tibetan food whenever I'm in the area. I'm a huge fan of their shabhaley! I always manage to order way too much food haha. It's always delicious and has great soup inside, while also mixing it with their chili (it's spicy watch out, but worth the try). Their sushi is pretty good (7/10) not too crazy out of the world. The Snow Lion Roll is probably my favorite one because I'm a huge fan of maki rolls in general. The momos were kind of middling (5/10), and it was lacking in salt in the momo. However, would recommend the spot (8/10). The prices are reasonable. The portions are more than reasonable.

The Tibetan food in this place is acceptable in terms of taste. But I reaallllyyy have to include this, that after dining-in a few with my friends and doing take out ( for a bunch of dishes) once, this place needs to rethink the portion size of the food they are serving and not make customers feel like they are being shorted. One time we ordered a vegetarian tofu dish and there was literally 5 pieces of tofu and the dish was barely filling half the height of the take out container. The same with the dry potato chips chilly. The price of it is close to $10 but is barely filling the inner rim of the plate they are serving it on. A I would not come here by myself if I was alone as there are other Tibetan food options in the neighborhood. But when I am with my friends or if we had to order food from this place for any compulsive reasons, the less than portion is noticeable enough to all of us that we sometimes debate between dinning in and take out, hoping that we would get our moneys worth if we dine in instead of take out.

First time eating sushi in the pizza form. Overall tastes pretty good, what's unique is the form. Momo sizzler is okay, it comes sizzling with lots of smoke, but the skin is too thick for me though.

Food is good. Good taste, good quality and great taste. location is small but really comfortable and doesn't feel crowded at all. the service was great, attended and helpful when asking questions regarding the menu.

New restaurant that took the place of a coffee/houseware shop that apparently didn't do too well. Completely revamped interior, mashing some modern design and Tibetan artwork. Saturday afternoon, placed a takeout order and was given a 15 minute estimate for pickup (pretty good!). Ladies working inside are super friendly, as they rattle off the items in the bag to ensure I got every dish. For starters, had the Veggie Momos ($7) - 8 steamed pieces of well-stuffed dumplings. Casing isn't too thick and decent flavor, made better by the accompanying hot sauce. For the main course, ordered the Chicken Chilly ($8) - breaded pieces of diced chicken, sauteed with onions and peppers; served with choice of rice or bread. Good amount of spice, making it easy to eat. The bread is super soft, going well with the leftover sauces from the dishes. Value for money here is excellent, as the amount of food was for two meals (though not great as leftovers). Would order here again easily.

I just ordered Sha Pay-Tsel and all I got was a handful of vegetables. I called them back and told them they messed up my order and pretty much told me "Oh well". I'm definitely not going back there again after that response.

Novice to tibetian food but given the good reviews, I went in to try and immediately found the place to be dreary, prompting me to second guess my decision. Not the most inviting atmosphere but the server was pleasant and hoping for a new culinary experience, I sat down to eat. Asked about tibetan appetizers and told some menu items were not available, including the one I was thinking of ordering. Discouraged, went safe and ordered shrimp tempura which was good. Determined to try something tibetan and new, I ordered the beef momo sizzler. It was not as spicy as it looked (not sure if it was suppose to be), tasted good and very reasonably priced but sadly nothing to draw me back. To be fair, never had tibetan food but momo is a popular item so expected a treat, but to me just tasted good.

Excellent food great soup nice bento boxes the sushi is outstanding and always made to order was there with my wife and friends definitely will tell our friends. Also our Favorite dishes are pineapple rice and mango salad

Only got takeout once. "Sashimi" was just long thin sushi cuts & NOT fresh. Actually spit one out. Maybe their Tibetan food is great, but can't recommend their raw fish.

Came here on a rainy Saturday for something a bit different. We ordered a lot of food for two people. Started with a Kani salad & a ebi avocado salad. Both were super yummy. Especially the Kani salad. Then we ordered the shrimp chilly, Pai-Tsel (baby bok choy), beef momo, and the Then Thung which is a soup with fresh dough that is hand pulled. Everything was really tasty. The staff is super friendly. I will be back to try some other items like the Sha Bhakleb (looks like an empanada)

My friend had a coworker bring him to this restaurant last week and he said it was really good. We decided to try it out this Monday evening. We walked in and saw there were 2 tables open. No one said anything or acknowledged us. After standing there for a while and realizing maybe we will sit outside because it's pretty humid in here, he goes over to a man clearing a table and asks if we can be seated outside. He says yes. We go sit outside.... Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nobody came outside. After sitting there for like 15min we left. Very disappointed and won't ever be back.

Ate here twice. Both times food was very tasty and prompt to arrive to our table. Service is prompt and friendly. The portions are generous and the prices vary from cheap to reasonable. They serve from raw to cooked foods both in Japanese and Tibetan style. I highly recommend the fried rice w either chicken or beef or their beef chow mein.

Let me tell you, Tibetan Japanese Restaurant was mind-blowing. It was a wonderful experience. The most flavorful dish was Spicy Tuna Roll, me and my friend absolutely loved it. It was so tasty. Team are extremely charming and service is really swift. Tibetan Japanese Restaurant - It is a unique and wonderful experience.
