Tico's Cafetería

For Cuban food in bushwick, this is the spot. A small cafe vibes that you could work out of or have breakfast/lunch with neighbors. The cafe has a wide selection of food and drink options. The scramble plate and breakfast frita were good and definitely a value. The empanadas are a must try. No table service, so no need to tip. However, remember to clean up after yourself and put your plates, cups, and trays away once you’re done. Staff is friendly and bathroom clean would definitely come back or spend some time working out of this cafe in the future!

Another solid spot for the area. We got breakfast here and felt that kinda light happy full afterwards the kinda of feeling you get when you know you just consumed something nourishing. The menu is pretty large and can be intimidating to navigate but odds are w/e you decide you won’t be disappointed.

Love this spot! Great space to relax and catch up on a book or chat with friends. The drinks are great with lots of menu options and the food is delicious! The barista Aaron is very sweet and always makes sure the customers are comfortable. Would recommend!

It’s a great café! I love the vibe; bright, clean, nice sunlight. Good Cuban Style food is delicious with modest portions. It has decent WiFi too and I rarely see it as crowded as the coffee shops.

A nice little walk from my house, decided to go here one morning for a late breakfast. Really great food with quick service, and a nice interior to sit. Definitely want to come back and try the other sandwiches, because the steak one was great!

Yesterday, I had an amazing lunch at Tico's Cafeteria in Bushwick, Brooklyn. This Cuban spot offers a fantastic counter-service style with table delivery. The mojitos were a highlight—perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and beautifully presented with sugar cane, ideal for a hot day. I ordered the chorizo burger, which was a standout. It came intricately made with matchstick fries inside the bun and a delicious sauce, truly a treat for the taste buds. My friend had the Cuban sandwich, and it was incredible, full of flavor and authenticity. The owner was super friendly, even mistaking my friend for a Cuban, which added a fun touch to our visit. The Gen Z staff were attentive and cheerful, making the atmosphere lively and welcoming. Overall, Tico's Cafeteria is a charming and vibrant place, worth the long walk from my neighborhood in Brooklyn. Highly recommend for anyone craving a delicious Cuban meal in a fun setting!

Cosy and nice place. You took a chicken salad and sandwich for dinner. It was really good. We also ordered one empanada with shrimps, but, unfortunately, it was too spicy for me. Prices are not the cheapest, but good to have a healthy meal in the neighborhood

I saw this place online and HAD to go the next day. Got the Matcha piña “cool latte” and the Pastel de Guayaba con queso. Both were delicious & not too sweet. The staff was great and the space is beautiful. I can’t wait to come back to sit down and have some dinner.

The croquetas de jamón are huge and delicious!! Usually places give you the tiniest ones and up charge like crazy. These were perfect and so satisfying! All of the sauces are also great!!

The star is for the service. I ordered a steak sandwich with plantain chips and an ice cold cafecito. Crappy "Cuban" food that would make real Cubans gasp at the sheer audacity. Nothing is fresh, everything tastes like it was made two days ago. The mojo tastes like it came from BJ's. Good for coffee and nothing else. Sincerely a Latina who knows better than to mistake this for "authentic" anything.

A great place to stop and enjoy a meal. The staff is nice and pleasant. Music and ambiance was calming and I was able to enjoy myself and my food. My one complaint: I've eaten plenty of Latin cuisine especially Cuban food. The food here was missing a bit of salt/seasoning. Was falling a bit bland to what I've come to expect from Latin food. Will come again and give another item a chance

Great Cubanos at this Bushwick cafe! The sandwiches were juicy, crispy and packed with flavor. The ham croquetas were also delicious, and decently sized. Great cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and you get a lot of food for the price. Highly recommend for lunch or a quick bite.

I used to go to Millie's Cuban Cafe and was sad when they closed, but excited to see the new space and similar menu. You can order via app at a table or at the counter. The servers were friendly and it was pretty quiet when I came in for a weekday breakfast so there was no wait. If you are vegetarian there are many options for you!

The croquetas de jamón are of substantial size and exquisite flavor! Often, establishments offer minuscule portions at exorbitant prices. However, these croquetas were impeccable and truly satisfying! Additionally, the assortment of sauces provided are exceptional in taste as well!

Bright sunny spot where we stopped for breakfast today but they serve the whole menu all day. Friendly staff helped me discern my choices on the menu and if I must say, it was obvious that she enjoys working there. We ordered a Cubano sandwich and a two egg breakfast plate to eat with a latte and an Americano to drink. Everything came out quickly and was hot. Great flavors and lots of hot sauce varieties to choose from. My son ordered the Bistek plate and his girlfriend had a picadillo sandwich. We were all very pleased with our orders. Their bathroom is clean and cute too. We left with a bag of pastries that we are enjoying on a road trip!

I recently ate at Tico's Cuban Cafe . I was impressed with the menu . I had the mojo chicken bowl and my friend had the breakfast Frita. Hands down, some of the best food I've had recently! They use the freshest ingredients . This is a Must try!

I was craving Cuban coffee and stumbled upon this spot. The coffee hit the spot and the food was wonderful as well. I got the chorizo empanada, it could've used a bit more chorizo but the avocado tostada made up for it. They serve breakfast all day which is really awesome. Their prices are also incredibly fair. The gentleman that took my order was patient and kind, answered all of our questions with a smile. It's very cozy and cute inside, with lots of people chilling and working like in a cafe. If I lived near I would come often. Give it a shot!

Great spot! The atmosphere is light and casual, its a great spot for coffee, to do work, or meet up with friends. I got the pork sandwich, which was so flavorful and moist. The side salad was great to break it up. Love this place, good music, good food. Need to try the cuban sandwich next time

Ordered from this place and it was just okay. The bistek was well seasoned, but way too chewy. The ropa vieja was nothing to write home about either - the sauce was too soupy and had an odd sweetness - the portion was also very small for the price. The flavors didn't feel very authentic which was a bummer. Maybe the other cafe options on the menu are better.

This replaced Millie's Cuban Cafe, which closed down some time last fall. The interior has been remodeled but the menu is fairly similar to Millie's old menu. I came in around lunch on a Friday and got a watermelon Yerba buena, cafe con leche, and mojo chicken breast plate. The watermelon yerba buena was super refreshing and not too sweet and the cafe con leche was lovely as well! The mojo chicken breast plate was chicken + rice + beans + maduros. It was just okay - I was expecting more flavor but it came across slightly bland. This is a nice spot to get some work done on a weekday or eat a casual lunch with a small group. Overall, I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu!

THW BEST FOOD EVER! I can't wait to go back! We got the cheese empanada The chicken empanada Yucca fries with freshly picked onions on top Cubano which even as a Florida girl it was without question the best I've ever had.

Coffee-- Cubano! Cortadito was delish and BIG. Tostada -- Cubana! Delish and reminded me of Miami living. The ambiance is good the croquetas were not my favorite. Staff is super nice!

T/Co is the best place ever! Baristas are so friendly and kind - owner was awesome and took the time to talk to us. Food is amazing, music was great and it was supppeerrr clean. Get the impossible empanadas and the mango iced tea!!! BEST PLACE EVER!

I came here to get some work done on a cloudy rainy day. It reminds me of a cute beachy Art Deco and pastel colored Cafe in Miami, although there are some vintage artsy things hung up. I felt totally transported to a beachy Cuban cafe. The family run staff here is so friendly and accommodating. Perfect local eats not so busy or loud and full of light. My server Fernanda, was especially nice and helpful. She even changed the Spotify playlist up to match the vibe of the space and make it more focus friendly. Great wonderful place to enjoy some Cuban lunch, a cappuccino and snack on some plantain chips with their avocado side. I'd come back here again for sure to try some of their pastries.

My dad came here on a work trip and was itching for me to recommend good restaurants to eat well and hang out, and T/Co is definitely that. Coming from Miami he was able to appreciate the authenticity of the Cuban cuisine offered here. The service was incredible and everyone was polite. Couldn't have asked for a better taste of home in New York.
