It was a beautiful day at the Tidal Basin, made even more magical by the stunning sakura in full bloom. The cherry blossoms created a breathtaking scene, making it the perfect spot for a peaceful stroll and amazing photos. The atmosphere was lively yet serene, with visitors enjoying the scenic views and the reflection of the trees on the water. It’s truly one of the most beautiful sights in D.C. during spring!

The approximately 2 hr loop trail around this basin is great for viewing the cherry blossom trees. The Jefferson, mlk, for, George Mason memorials and other landmarks are along the path. Nice views of the Washington monument as well.

FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS AT PEAK BLOOM What a beautiful experience. You won’t be dissatisfied. But here are some things to know. The weekend traffic will be NUTS! Get as early a start as you can. I went on a Monday. It was busy but manageable. Park on Ohio Drive behind the FDR Memorial. That way you’ll see FDR, MLK (VERY IMPRESSIVE), and have the opportunity to walk the best parts of the basin. Looking for bathrooms? They’re at the FDR Memorial. The path is very dusty so don’t wear your best white cavnvas sneakers. Once you get to the basin, just past MLK, you can get great shots of the cherry blossoms and monuments and may catch a plane or two as they land. Enjoy!!
