The food was absolutely delicious — definitely worth coming for. However, even with a reservation, we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated after coming straight from the airport, which was frustrating, especially since I’m pregnant. It would’ve been nice if the staff had been more considerate or communicative about the delay, plus on our reservation we put baby-moon and no one mentioned anything or offered due to their delay. Great food, but the service experience could be improved. (Highly recommend the bread service, it was delicious!)

Google
Worth all the hype. Easily some of the best food we had during our 3 night stay at the resort. We had dinner twice and were willing to pay the price for it. Reservations are a must - they really do get busy and stay busy. You can go a little early to get drinks started at the bar. Note: the bar tender wasn’t familiar with drinks off the short menu, so be prepared to explain what you want if it’s not listed. Service was excellent all around though. Friendly, helpful, and attentive. Food was phenomenal. 1st night we ordered an array of apps and sides after being unable to commit to a single dish. All of it was delicious. Among our favorites were the carpaccio and the crab cake… must orders if we were to return! Really can’t go wrong though. A side of potatoes would be worth your time. Highly recommend. You’ll spend good money, but it won’t be with disappointment.

Google
Dinner menu is great. The chef really knows what he’s doing. Service in the evening is also exceptional. The coffee is one of my favorite things about this place and the location is right off the bay and a beautiful setting for dining. If you eat gluten free I would not recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. They don’t offer substitutions. Oatmeal and fruit only all other protein comes on bread which I was told could not be substituted except on a very small size bread less than half the portion for the same price.

Tidal is the romance restaurant of San Diego! With a full row of two-top tables right along the deck glass overlooking Mission Bay, dinner and drinks are at their sunset best here. The food and service are fantastic too. Don’t miss the corn-and-poblano fondue — just divine — and the crab cake and scallops were excellent. The minted peas were a highlight too, and the meal as a whole was the best we had our entire vacation...perfection on a plate!

Google
Tidal is a very nice restaurant within the Paradise Point Resort just north of San Diego downtown. The restaurant overlooks the bay with beautiful views and has a relaxing atmosphere. We visited Tidal during our stay at the resort a couple of times. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Our waitress Julia had good suggestions about the menu. A highly recommended place to dine if you are in the area.

Google
This restaurant was hit and miss but would give it another try. First it's located in a hotel / resort area which unfortunately meant of a lot tourists with little kids (we are locals) some of them still in swimwear at this somewhat nicer (especially price wise) restaurant.) The tomato panzenella was amazing and so was my husband's pasta, but unfortunately my fish was overcooked and dry.

Google
If I could give 6 stars, I would. Melissa is amazing- literally one of the best experiences ever , Conner the Hostess was so contagious with positive energy. The food was hot, flavorful and came so quickly. Highly recommend!! And if you read my other reviews… you’ll know I do not give these lightly! Ohhhh and DO NOT miss the drinks.. we had a smoked old fashioned with mezcal and it was to die for.

Had a great New Year’s Eve Brunch at Tidal! It was $37 per person and we sat on the dog friendly patio. The brunch buffet featured an omelette station, egg Benedict, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, yogurt parfaits, fruits, bagels with smoked salmon, and breakfast pastries. Everything tasted really good, loved the scrambled eggs. Service was very friendly and quick. Recommend coming by, their regular menu looks really good too.

Yelp
WOW all I have to say. Service was amazing and the staff cares for us so much. Customer service like that is rare nowadays but now let's talk food... WOW again. Everything was delicious and they even had great food for my daughter as well as bringing water for my dog. Resorts usually have terrible food but not this one!

Yelp
The food wasn't that best for the price point. The service was excellent and the Ambiance was okay due to the water being there but the chair and furniture could be better. Waitress wasn't very knowledgeable with bourbons or what they have to offer.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel on site and we decided to try this place out and then the one next door each night and this place is okay. It does cost more and they don't have that big of a menu. I'm a picky eater so I ordered just some sides because there wasn't anything on the menu that I'd really eat. The view is gorgeous and they have a nice outside area to eat at that is right on the water. The waiter was a nice guy and he did great trying to get us to try different things.

Yelp
We had a reservation at 7pm for a birthday dinner. We didn't get to seat until 715pm on a saturday night. Wasn't really a busy night, IMO. We ordered lamb shank and prime rib bone in steak with 2 wine. And brownie smores for dessert. Lamb shank was tender and delicious. Paired with suggested red wine. Good choice. Polenta is good, too. For that price,.expecting for more lamb shank :). Prime rib was good, seasoned well. However, we ordered medium but came out as rare. Brocollini came out kind of burnt, too, so we put that to the side. Since our server was nowhere to be found, we were sitting there waiting. No one is checking with us. We had to flag another server to get the prime rib cook some more. Eventually, I'm assuming the manager came out and bring the food out. This time, steak came out better and had brocollini there too, this time was cooked better. This time our server came out to check on us to see how everything was but everything was taken care off. We were ready to order dessert but server was nowhere to be found, again. We had to flag another server so we can order our dessert. Props to manager for taking care of us. Birthday dinner kind of sucked because of the service. We hoped we had the server that the 2 tables had, they were being constantly being checked and getting refills. I mean you're paying like eating at a steakhouse, service should be good, too. Intimate location, great view. Good food. Lots of parking. Good food. Will come back to eat here if we're staying here again and as long we don't get the same server.

Yelp
View is beautiful, this is why it was 3 stars instead of 2. The drinks were tasty. The food was mediocre. I was told that the clam chowder was supposedly the best than anywhere. It wasn't..... It was ok at best. The burgers we ordered came out RAW throughout the burger. The poblano fondue was amazing though. Service was good, there was a gentlemen named Israel that kind of saved the night on service, he was extremely helpful and entertaining. Our waiter could have been more attentive. He did feel bad about the raw burgers and offered us 2 free deserts because it was one of our birthdays however the deserts were both gross as well. The dubai chocolate desert I could have ran over it with my car and it probably wouldn't have broke. Tasted horrible. The smores dish was not appetizing either. Overall I would possibly go back if I had Israel as a server and they paid more attention to the temp of their meats.

Yelp
Staying at the hotel so we wanted to check out this restaurant for dinner. Made a reservation online easily. Came in and was seated on time. Kinda busy. Inside was clean staff was attentive. We ordered the fondue, shrimp cocktail and some drinks. Fondue came out quickly and tasted very good, bread was delicious. The shrimp cocktail was very good too. The rose drink was fantastic and presentation was delightful. We got full after our appetizers so we didn't order any entrees. I would come here again.

Yelp
We've been coming to Paradise Point a lot but we are always stopping by one of their bar & grill . This time we gave Tidal a try. The result was good and my Family was very happy about our Dinner here. From the Inside of the the restaurant to the Outdoor was stunning . The View from our Table was spectacular! Now for the food, we were very satisfied, with our cocktail, appetizers, main course, and dessert. I got the PACIFICO SEA BASS a decent-sized fish, and cooked nicely accompanied by a delicious Mushroom risotto. Next time I'm gonna order too what my son had, he had the Duroc pork chop and it was big and very tasty. Service was nice, food that we had was delicious and with a very stunning view !

Yelp
Lots of great things to say. The staff was friendly the dining area was nice. And we elected to sit out by the beach front and use heat lamps. They even brought the ladies blankets. Speedy right on time great drink menu. The appetizer was just odd. Hard croutons from a bag it seemed like. Luckily the actual mozzarella and balsamic was great and tasty. The sea bass was great. I had just a sneak bite of it. I ordered the ahi. And it was a thick ahi steak. Very fresh. Great portion lightly seasoned and cooked perfectly. I also just love cauliflower so when this was dressed around the tuna I devoured it. Perfect season and cooking of it. Such a great family time

Yelp
Waiter, waitress and hostess were all very nice and pleasant. Ambience was wonderful enjoying the ocean view and sunset. But unfortunately the food was absolutely awful and expensive. We ordered the sea bass and salmon and shrimp cocktail. Shrimp (they only gave 4) was not fresh...tasted very mushy, and both the salmon and sea bass were very dry and their sauce didn't taste good. Even their French fries were not done right...McDonald's French fries are way better. Food tasted like it was from the freezer or something and then heated with microwave. When we got back to the hotel room, we also had stomach aches from the food. Very very disappointed in a fancy restaurant on the resort premises.

Yelp
If you happen to find yourself vacationing in San Diego and/or staying on the Paradise Point resort, then a dining experience at Tidal is a must. We were here recently for a multi day conference and our party made a reservation at Tidal. The menu changes every week so it's best to check their website to see what they have to offer. Our server was really nice and friendly, but more importantly she was very good at describing what the restaurant favorites on the menu! Our party had either the seabass (pictured in this review) or the crab topped salmon. Both were so delicious and fresh tasting. As for the seabass that I selected it was superbly prepared with a nice crisp skin. Placed on a bed of peas and sauce that complimented the fish. I also ordered the clam chowder which was also very tasty. It had small pieces of potato, clams, and pork belly. So flavorful! If you are also interested they have a fantastic selection of wines and cocktails. Pictured are two that we LOVED! The "Kiss from a Rose" with its fancy rose shaped ice cube and the "Oaxacan Smoked Old Fashioned" which came out in a fancy looking smoke box. Great restaurant, decent prices, and beautiful venue and ambiance. I highly recommend coming to here if you're in the area!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday party and while the server and staff were very nice and drinks were good, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I got the sea bass and it was overcooked, very dry and mealy. Shame to do to such a beautiful fish. My friend ordered a steak and it was underdone and not the temp she ordered. Got it refired and it was blacker on the outside but still the same amount of underdone-ness on the inside. Food was very expensive but portions were so small that even a side order of fries was polished off because we were still hungry. If a dish comes with things you have to cut through like corn ribs you're not given a good enough knife and stuff is hard to cut. Just cut stuff off the cob if you're not going to give a proper knife please. If a dish says it comes with things like peas, don't expect it to be a proper side, it's more like a garnish. You're paying for the protein and sauce only, so spend your $44/plate average wisely. Service was SLOW. I mean...slow. So much so that we had two rounds of drinks before our entree order was taken. We ended up closing the place down not because of lingering but because that's how slow the service was. It took 2.5 hours and despite having a reservation weeks in advance at 7 the hostess told us she'd have to seat other parties before us and we waited an additional 20 minutes past our reservation time. Drinks were incredible, on the pricey side but I can forgive that for the quality. Ambiance was very beautiful, our server was a dear. However, we came because it was convenient to where we were, but we won't be back due to food quality and price not matching.

Yelp
Tidal restaurant is not worth a visit. And they have a ridiculous policy if you don't cancel within 48 hours they will charge $25 a head. Booked table for 4. Called them day and a half before to cancel due to family emergency, they wouldn't without charging us $100. I've been to the best restaurants around the world and never seen a 48 hours cancellation policy with a monetary penalty, especially for an extremely mediocre, dirty and unimpressive restaurant like Tidal. So we went to avoid the penalty since we were staying at the attached resort, and the food was mediocre at best. The atmosphere sucks and there is no character or warmth to the restaurant. It's a huge open room with lunch hall style tables and zero decor/music. They have an absolute BS cancellation policy and a terribly overpriced horrible restaurant with rude management. The food is not worth anywhere near the prices they charge. Don't waste your time with this place. They lock people in with the 48 hour nonsense $25 a head cancellation policy because the place is usually mostly empty and not worth the ridiculous prices. It's clearly a money grab because they need it, but it's an awful place with rude staff, poor food and horrible service. The crab cake was freezing cold, dry and disgusting. Steak special was $80 and overcooked, worth probably $15 at best. Slow service. Horrible food. Worse atmosphere. It's like eating at a high school lunch hall with prices meant for places that are actually decent with good service and good food. Stay away. Tidal is an AWFUL place. You're better off ordering pizza takeout. Trust me.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant called "TIDAL". It wasn't our first time in this area of Paradise Point where Tidal is located, but it's our first time dining here at Tidal. We chose to be seated outdoors and they let us pick where to sit. The inside was beautiful too, but I like the view of their outdoor area more. I almost didn't want to order yet, just wanted to sit, relax, and enjoy the view and the nice breeze for a while :) But when our server came and handed us the Menu, that changed everything, I wanted their food already. There were so many good selections, so it was easy for us to pick our food. We ordered: *PARADISE MAI THAI *DUROC PORK CHOP *HAMACHI CRUDO *PACIFICO SEA-BASS *PAN-SEARED ICEFJORD SALMON *GERMAN CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE My son's favorite was the PORK CHOP. He was excited to see how their pork chop here, and this place didn't disappoint him, my son likes it! The pork Chop was so thick, so Tender, and so flavorful, and it was not dry at all, it was cooked nicely! Our HAMACHI CRUDO was so fresh and delicious, that I will probably order 3 plates of those next time. My husband's PACIFICO SEABASS was good too, it was nicely cooked. I love wild mushroom risotto that came with it, I can really taste a lot of mushroom in their rice. For my SALMON, it was very tasty, I didn't need to add any salt or anything. My Drink was beautiful and so Fruity, I love it! Also, the German chocolate had a very rich chocolate and yet not overly sweet. We had such a Lovely Family time here, we are very satisfied with the View, the Food, and the Service. We can see ourselves here being regular from now on. Their Menu changes from time to time, so always check their menu before planning a visit. For Parking, there's a lot of it here. The Tidal restaurant is located at Paradise Point, so after eating here I recommend you take a walk around and find the beautiful Pond in their area, you will enjoy more of your visit here.

Yelp
The restaurant itself offers a lovely ambiance and a beautiful view, which initially raised our expectations. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell far short--both in terms of food quality and service. Although there were several open tables outside, we were not allowed to sit outdoors without any clear explanation. The menu was confusing and contained multiple spelling errors, which was surprising for a restaurant at this price point. The kids' menu was particularly underwhelming and overpriced--offering only cheese pizza, mini hot dogs, or chicken fingers for $20. Our children chose the cheese pizza, which arrived burnt to the point that both the crust and cheese were dark brown and unappetizing. Ordering was also a challenge. Several key items, including the mac and cheese and burgers, were unavailable. This was frustrating, especially as half our group had initially intended to order those items. The rest of the menu felt uninspired and didn't match the restaurant's upscale pricing. One couple in our party ordered the ribeye, which was cooked well but lacked seasoning. I had the carnival squash, which was a disappointment at $34. It was overcooked and mushy, with a strange pepita sauce that didn't pair well with the overly sweet balsamic. The advertised almonds were barely present--just a few scattered pieces. The dish was served lukewarm at best, and I was unsure whether it was even intended to be a hot entrée. Service was, unfortunately, the worst part of the evening. Our server was unfamiliar with the menu and couldn't answer basic questions about the oysters' origin. It took over 25 minutes to receive water, and we had to repeatedly request basics like salt and pepper. The server was slow to return, resulting in over an hour before we could place our order. After ordering, it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive--with no updates, water refills, or check-ins during that time. Once our meals were served, we never had an opportunity to give feedback or request changes because our server didn't return. I would have liked to send back my squash, but there was simply no one around. At the end of the meal, we had to go to the hostess stand to ask for the check and later search near the kitchen for to-go boxes. One final disappointment: the kids' meal included a scoop of ice cream, and since two children were sharing one meal, I politely asked if it was possible to get an extra scoop. Before I could even offer to pay for it, the server curtly said no. Given the high cost of our meal--over $110 for just two adult entrees in addition to the kids' meal--that felt unnecessarily stingy. In summary, the food was mediocre, the service was inattentive, and the experience left us all hungry and frustrated. This restaurant has potential given its beautiful setting, but we will not be returning or recommending it.

Yelp
Great restaurant on the bay at the paradise point resort on vacation island. Had the fondue, sea bass, a couple cocktails and the s'more brownie for dessert. Great place to watch the sunset and have a nice dinner on the patio. Normally not open on Monday/Tuesday but the restaurant opened for our conference at the hotel. Was impressed with the food and service.

Yelp
Gorgeous views, friendly staff and the food was delicious. I do kind of wish there were a little more menu options but other than that I really have no complaints.

Yelp
I came to this place because my out of town friend was staying at paradise point so it made sense to come here and I wanted to try it Service: was more than excellent . Melissa was great and awesome Food: Brussel sprout was ok Salmon was ok Apple tart was delicious Parking: plenty of public free parking Ambiance : very nice view ans although it was foggy the outside was very nice and with heater on we did not feel the cold. The area is very nice Reason for 4 stars : the brussel sprout and salmon was ok not great. Will I come back ? yes I will give it another try Should u try it? yes give a try

Yelp
Everywhere says they close at 10:00. Walked in at 9:30 and were told they closed at 9:00. Update your hours. Yelp, Apple maps, etc...

Yelp
The word of the day today was SLOW! From the time we sat down, to the time we paid the bill, our family of 4 spent 2 hours at Tidal. When it is chilly out (and you're sitting outside), and you're accompanied by a 6 and 8 year old, 2 hours is a long time to be at a restaurant. We ordered bread and clam chowder to start. Both were piping hot and delicious. The brown butter needed salt, but otherwise was delicious. The adults had cioppino and a ribeye for dinner. No complaints on our meals. The steak knife was a little dull, so cutting the broccoli or shrimp in the cioppino was difficult. The kids' meals.... You get what you pay for. The menu has them priced at $20, which is steep for a kids meal. A drink, entree, and dessert (a scoop of ice cream and a chocolate chip cookie) are included. My kids could've shared an entree and still had leftovers. Kiddo 1 ordered chicken tenders and got 7 huge tenders and 4 nugget sized pieces plus fries. Kiddo 2 ordered pizza and there's no way I would've been able to finish it myself. Everything was delicious. If I hadn't gorged on bread and half of the clam chowder, I likely would've finished all of my entree. There was a long chunk of time between ordering and receiving food. Thankfully, the views from the patio are amazing and the playlist had some chill covers of pop songs. Gas heaters are spread about the patio, and one table even received blankets (we weren't offered blankets, but we didn't ask for any, either). Overall, Tidal offers great food and a laid back atmosphere. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was for the long wait.

Zee Z.

Yelp
I came to Paradise Point, specifically to Tidal, for a Black Worker retreat dinner; it was a big party where various folks in the group ordered this same seabass on the menu. Everyone's seabass was DRY; then when I addressed the waiter about my DRY seabass, she suggested that I order another type of fish because she cant guarantee it be overcooked. I shared with her that I wanted seabass because I love seabass, where she then let me know that ingredients in the kitchen were running out. (What does that have to do with me the customer?) They brought me another seabass and it was dry AGAIN. The only thing that was good from here was the asparagus salad.

Yelp
I did not expect to give Tidal a 5 star review - I usually don't like fancy resort food. Tidal's staff has a dedication to the menu and the food that is palpable. The hamachi crudo is one of the best dishes I have had in months - so simple but so perfect. The fish is incredibly fresh and sweet - the light broth of blood orange and coconut (???maybe) complemented the fish, even the flowers and smidge of chilis just added to the complexity without overwhelming. I stuck with fish - getting the crusted hamachi in a coconut milk broth and small black lentils that tasted almost sweet, with incredible umami. Even the baby bok choy were perfectly grilled whole. My friend's pork chops were okay - a delightful brine couldn't compensate for flavorless pork - though that is a problem I see often in SD restaurants. The ambience was relaxing and beautiful, we watched various birds hunting for food and saw the sun go down. A lovely experience.

Yelp
I had high expectations for this restaurant because of the reviews i've seen on google, yelp and open table. However, i think Tidal is paying for reviews? because all the hype I've read did not happen for me during my experience tonight. We checked in to the resort at 8pm after a 6 hour drive from up north near bakersfield and were really hungry. Our dinner reservation was set at 8:30, so we quickly settled in to our room and made our way to the restaurant. Our host promptly sat us at our table, which was great. But this was when things turned sour. We were waiting and waiting for a server to to greet us and take our drink order. We watched many other servers walked by us and served other tables. After 15 minutes had past, we finally decided to flag one of those servers down to say we were ready to place our order. The server we flagged down told us " Let me find your server". Another 5 minutes past (we still didn't have drinks or even water at this point) a server girl comes to us and the first thing she says was " Oh , I'm sorry" . She doesn't even say her name . We order the Bone in Dry aged Rib eye ($72) , Roman herb fries ($8), Warm bloomsdale spinach salad, Shrimp Bisque. The Shrimp bisque and Spinach salad were amazing. I ordered the Rib eye medium rare and when it came it was anything but. It was way more on the rare side, and it was COLD!!! The broccoli that came with it was absolute garbage as well. The Ketchup that came with the fries were watery and basically inedible. Store bought ketchup is better than this. It was so bad that we didn't finish the fries which we would have if we had decent ketchup. The rib eye cut of meat was such a bad cut which left me very shocked that it was $72. Lots of fat and tendon that weren't rendered enough basically felt like chewing gum. We didn't finish the steak nor the fries. After all this, we decided to order another spinach salad because that was the saving grace of the entire meal. However, when we flagged our server down ( we had to flag her down because she doesn't check on us regularly as a server should) to order another spinach salad. She informs us then that the kitchen is already closed. Why didn't this garbage server tell us that the kitchen was going to close soon at the start of our meal or in the middle when we received our entrees? Maybe more server training is needed. Or maybe management needs to hire better servers. who knows. All i know is that the experience i had was anything but 4 stars as the resort claims itself to be. We also felt their hurry to rush us out because they wanted to clear our plates even though we were still working on eating it. The over all vibe was very casual and laid back almost like a college dorm and not a professional restaurant that merits high price tags for their food. What is hilarious is that we had our dog waiting in our room for us and when we came back we ordered room service. The room service food for our dog was BETTER than the food at this restaurant. It was actually hot food that smelled way better. Needless to say , i'll never be dining here again and all the good hype reviews about this place is probably paid advertisement. I hope this place shuts down and re opens with better management and staff. Tidal. More like Tidal Wave of Disappointment.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! We sit at the patio with our dog (yes, dogs are welcome outside on their patio). And it's very much an "enclosed" patio, with tons of those stand alone gas heater to keep everyone warm, while having a perfect ocean view! The best environment for sunset/dinner time. Their dinner is a 4 course "set dinner" that you can pick and choose from. The first course is a shared appetizer, then a salad of your own choice, an entree and a dessert. The food is delicious and fresh, we started with clam and mussels, both fresh and tasty. Salad is fresh. And I strongly recommended their short ribs, cooked to perfection with three different side to share with the whole party. Dessert I pick the chocolate cheesecake.Cheesy but not too sweet. They are closed on Sunday night, so Saturday night is the only choice for the weekend. Strongly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
I am being a little generous with the 4 stars but overall it was decent. Food was decent, not amazing. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese which she said tasted hard. I had a couple bites and I'm not sure if it was supposed to be al dente or what but it was definitely a little crunchy still and the cheese tasted like a powder Kraft mac and cheese. The cocktails were delicious but average almost $20. Our server said they were between menus so there were no bread service or options available which was disappointing. Our waitress Julia was superb and definitely worth mentioning!!! The young hostess girl was also incredibly sweet and made the effort to constantly RUN back and forth all night to close the main doors that leads from the indoor dining area to outside patio deck. Our biggest gripe that made the dining experience negative was the OLD CLANGING doors that separate the inside dining from the outside. Most of the servers (with the exception of one female brunette & 2 males) very consciously made the effort to open the doors with care and close them behind them. Sitting by the doors gave a beautiful view but the doors were so big and LOUD, they would CLANG open and STAY open, blasting anyone in the vicinity with cold air until someone came to close them. I don't think I would go back unless I knew they fixed those obnoxious doors. Big shout out to Julia though and the host girl who spent her night darting back and forth after careless employees left them open.

Yelp
We came down to escape the heat and stayed at this property. Initially we were hesitant to make a reservation at Tidal. The negative reviews were a concern. Well fear not, our experience was 5 star in all areas. We had a reservation at 6:15 and were promptly seated by the friendly hostess. We chose the patio with seating facing the bay. Our server Melissa ( highly recommend) greeted us with genuine smiles and warmth. Again, nothing like we read in previous reviews. Ordered our drinks and promptly received. We weren't in a rush to order our Donner. Melissa was fine with it even on a Friday night. When we did order she was knowledgeable on the entire menu. She even went as far to ask the chef if he would give my octopus a quick char on the grill. Most chefs would have refused. This chef happily obliged and we thanked him in the way out. His menu selection is excellent. Every area we interacted with was outstanding. Our entrees were the above mentioned octopus and Pacific Sea Bass with mushroom risotto. Both entrees had such flavor and the presentation was excellent. This restaurant is a must stop whether you stay at the Paradise Point Resort or visiting San Diego. Melissa, thanks for your attentive and enthusiastic service, Chef, thanks for obliging the char on the octopus. Lastly Teddy the manager on duty thanks for stopping over the table so we could express our appreciation. Next trip down we will come again. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

Yelp
Went for Thanksgiving for their buffet so that is what my review will be based on. Beautiful views and nice straightforward menu and great presentation. It was $100 a person and the outdoor view was perfect, glass walls so you can enjoy the beach and yet still be warm. The food itself wasn't too special, but what more could they do. There was a charcuterie section, desserts, bar, turkey, ham, and roast beef with some iconic sides. So it's exactly what we asked for just the food quality didn't stand out, but what more could we ask for. Overall the bartender was awesome, my family enjoyed it and we got good pictures of their semi private beach. Probably won't be back for this same menu and event, but loved the area.

Yelp
From the friendly service to the amazing views and outstanding food this place is awesome. The crabcakes are the best I've had in San Diego. And Teddy, the super friendly manager is from Maryland so he knows what he's talking about. I grew up in Maryland. and know a good crabcake when I have one :-)

Yelp
Yes, the prices are high, but what do you expect for resort dining in San Diego? Here's an honest review: Food was by in large great. The sea bass was perfect, the steak was great and the carrots that came with were a one of a kind flavor. The brussels sprouts were a little undercooked for my liking but, we still finished them. Service was spectacular, probably the peak of this review. We had Esteban for dinner and Keisha for breakfast. Both were super kind, quick, and good at their job. I do recommend a date night at Tidal. Maybe not where I'd take a family of 6, but food and drinks were damn good!

Yelp
Hostess and server were super friendly and attentive; but, sadly it goes downhill from there. Salad tasted like dirt and had a bitter taste; the rigatoni pasta was bland and unimpressive. Maintenence man was walking around the restaurant looking for something to repair, I guess. Total dumpster fire of a restaurant.

Yelp
I have to unfortunately reduce my 5 stars to 3. I've been coming here for my birthday for years and usually have a great time, however last weekend was very disappointing. I made a reservation online for Sunday at 11am which I wanted to amend. I called twice and no answer. Instead, I made a second reservation online, no biggie. Once seated, it took a while to get a server despite it not being busy. Their brunch menu is very limited and not exciting like their dinner menu. I wanted to order to salmon eggs Benedict, only to be informed they ran out even though they've only been open for an hour. We opted for the waffle, French toast, the smoked cocktail, and bottomless mimosas. While talking, we also let the server know it was my birthday. The waffle was really good. I didn't care for my French toast too much. There was also a small hair (or super long lint/fiber) in my whip cream. I didn't say anything about it because it was a small hair, and shit happens. The food came out , but no drinks. Not even water. The host came by to check on us, and we let her know, so she was able to our drinks out asap via our server. For the bottomless mimosas, we were presented a less than half full champagne bottle, and an orange mimosa. I drank my first glass and wanted another. Again, took a while to get our server. I told her I wanted a guava one this time - so she filled my glass with champagne and didn't return with the guava juice till 15 min after. Thankfully she left the little juice pitcher there. In total, our "bottomless mimosas" got me 2.5 glasses. It wasn't even worth asking for more champagne because it probably would've taken another 15 min to get it. What made this experience more annoying is that the couple directly next to us was also celebrating a birthday. Their drinks came out first, the server (different girl) left the juice pitcher with them each time so they didn't have to wait on her, they were brought more champagne, their server checked on them several times, and brought them free desert for their birthday. I'm going to assume our server was just new. She was nice but not "on it". The poor service really put a damper on my birthday brunch. I don't think Tidal will continue to be my happy place.

Yelp
Our wedding reception was at "vacation village" ( now called Paradise Point) 40 years ago. For Nostalgic reasons my parents took us to dinner at Tidal. The reviews were mixed but we wanted to go head as the place is special to us. Our meal and experience was wonderful. From Sitting outside with the water view to the delicious meal-we were all pleasantly surprised. Appetizers we enjoyed were: crab cake(excellent), burrata, shrimp cocktail and oysters. Mains were Seabass and scallops. The dessert was the s'mores brownie-served warm and gooey! We felt like we were on vacation and treated very well. I highly recommend this dining experience.

Yelp
Go somewhere else for good food and view ! There are many other locations that have a great view and quality food in San Diego. We were really looking forward to this special occasion for my mother's milestone bday. I made the mistake of overlooking a couple of recent reviews because of the convenience of being on site at the hotel and knowing it does have a beautiful view from staying there recently, Was hoping it was just a blip. I was wrong. Food and service definitely not worth the price. The first 30 minutes were ok, but it went downhill from there. Our food came very very slowly , the server never checked in re delays or apologized. We were there over 2 hours. We ordered drinks which came sporadically so we couldn't toast together. Shrimp appetizer $23 was overpriced and tasteless. The fondue was the best item of the several apps we ordered but had 4 small pieces of small bread. We had to ask for more bread and that took again a very long time to get. The fish and lamb were good not great but again way overpriced for comparable restaurants. Then, much time later the server dropped the bday brownie and ran never to be seen again. It was at least 30 minutes and we finally had to bring our bill to the register! Def not what you expect from a $$$$ priced dinner close to $600 with a $90 automated gratuity for 7 people...which we would have enjoyed a much better meal really anywhere else at a fraction of the price. When a manager called me back a few days later after my review to the hotel and restaurant was received, there was no real surprise or apology about the meal just she would let the management know. The management needs to know this is not acceptable service or quality and should be remedied with reduction or voiding of gratuity at minimum or comping some of the meals. Hope this will be received and improvements made. It is a shame for such a nice location which we were hoping to make a regular spot for us to visit.

Yelp
Great tasting food... we started with the sourdough bread. Followed with salad and then our main dish. I ate the ahi tuna it had a lot of flavor. our server was amazing made sure we had everything we needed even offered to turn on the heater. the view was beautiful when you enter tidal it's like you get transported to another location it does not feel like we are in the city. Will definitely go back !

Yelp
This place has been flying under the radar, as a lifelong San Diegan I've never heard of it and met an out of town guest there for brunch. It's a fantastic location, right on the bay and the food does not disappoint. I had chilaquiles, which came in a small cast iron pan with fresh sides (guacamole, pico, sour cream, and lettuce). Chips were a perfect texture and topped with a crispy fried egg. My wife and daughter each had avocado toast. Four pieces of airy toast covered in fresh avo, goat Gouda, pomegranate arils, and probably some other stuff. Neither are huge eaters yet there was none left. Two others had fried chicken and waffles and couldn't stop raving about how perfectly the chicken was fried. The portion is huge, both took home leftovers. We didn't imbibe in mimosas but they have them as single or bottomless. Good service and a great view for a delicious brunch!

Yelp
One of THE BEST dinning experiences I've ever had. Every, single, thing was AMAZING and our waitress was a dream. Every plate came out at the perfect time. Everything was cooked perfectly. And they had a live acoustic guitarist playing and singing and it was beautiful. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It can be a bit pricey but for good reason. We may go for a second time in one week before our vacation ends :) Can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect customer service. No notes. I do feel like the customer service outperformed the menu. I would eat here again if the menu improved.

Yelp
It's a lovely restaurant at Paradise Point Resort. Outside seating right by the water. You almost feel like you're in Hawaii on the resort grounds. Unfortunately I got food poisoning from the mussel appetizer and couldn't enjoy my birthday weekend staycation. The flatiron steak was delicious though, and the herbed potatoes were chefs kiss good. Too bad everything violently exited my body at both ends from 12am to 5am. I would go back, but mussels are off my menu forever.

Yelp
This prix fixe-only menu left a lot to be desired. First, after being seated we waited 20 minutes (timed) for anyone to come over to us at all. We sat and waited while someone brought water, but then server after server went to each table around us while seemingly ignoring our group. Finally we asked if someone was coming, and a waitress responded "I'll find out who your server is." When she finally came over, she grumpily took our drink orders without so much as a simple apology for the extreme wait. Had we known that would be the only drink we were going to be able to order all night, we might have chosen differently. I try to have patience and understanding due to Covid when places are short staffed, but that was NOT the case here. We saw tons (and I mean tons) of staff walking around, either doing nothing, or checking on other tables. The place was NOT busy. There was no real reason offered or observed that would justify the level of service we got. The beer selection is small for this type of place. While the food started off well with the delicious tortilla soup, it was all down hill from there. The chips and salsa were clearly store-bought. The fish came with a literal eyeball staring at us. I understand what "whole" fish it, but this was another level. The dessert nachos were yummy, but I felt like they were a kindergarten snack project, not a fancy seafood restaurant prix fixe dessert. Overall this meal was not worth what we paid and I don't think I'd go back again.

Yelp
10/7/22. Ate dinner there. Positive- plenty of free parking and nice views. Service was good. 3 course meal for $52. Went with a party of 4. The shrimp salad was good. Just 3 Shrimps in there. The bread fries were very good. I had the braised short ribs. Very flavorful. The mash potatoes was good. The desert of the lemon cheesecake was disappointing. Negative- not sure what the portions are for the bread fries if I went solo or with a group. Not enough. We had exactly 1.5 each. The family style portions was not enough for 4 persons. The mashed potatoes were for 2 persons and not a table of 4. The citrus Farro was nasty. Tasked like black licorice. The halibut was overcooked. I would not go there again. You will leave hungry and disappointed. See the photos.

Yelp
Memorable dishes include the Grilled octopus and Pacifico sea bass with mushroom risotto, which I would come back for. I didn't care much for the hamachi crudo, it was not bad, just ok. Happy hour at the bar was decently priced. We sat out on the patio and had views of the bay, palm trees and sunset. It was a great way to end the night. We had no problem getting our food on time and the server was attentive. Plenty of free parking.

Yelp
This is where I need to write this place is so beautiful. Please review them on Facebook and Instagram. This review is for a brunch visit right before the Christmas, it was open for outdoor dine in. We tried mostly everything their brunch menus lol Avocado toast was light but yet crunchy and well seasoned something out of this world, shaved prosciutto with nice portion, house blend beef loco Mochi was very tender and cooked just right, chef special pho which I didn't have a chance to taste, Brioche French toast which is to die for. Lovely setting overlooking the bay, the view was breath taking, it's one of those must go to see it type of places. They have patio outdoor and indoor seating, bay view at almost every outdoor table. Totally enjoyed it. The best brunch ever along with the kindest staff. Not to mention this place got on the list for where to East on thanksgiving, the most romantic restaurants for a date in San Diego/ the most Delicious eater bra in San Diego. Thumbs-up
