"With whitewashed walls, light wood tones, nautical decor, and huge windows that open up to an oceanfront view, the Tide Room almost feels more like SoCal than Ocean City. The restaurant is part of Ashore Resort & Beach Club’s recent property-wide renovation, and the menu draws in mid-Atlantic flavors, as seen with blue crab truffle carbonara. Looking for something more casual, with the same seaside views? The outdoor Wahoo Beach Bar overlooks the surf, with live music and pina coladas at the ready." - Tierney Plumb, Adele Chapin, Tim Ebner

"Ocean City isn’t that far from Philly, but one can instantly taste the difference in their abundant seafood options. With an accessible menu that includes pan-seared halibut, seafood linguine, and Glory Bay king salmon — this is an ideal quick trip for a vacation dinner, brunch, or cocktail hour." - Ernest Owens

We live locally and were desperate for a new restaurant. The Tide Room did not disappoint. Food, service and ambiance were all amazing. Fresh, upscale, with an amazing ocean view. Our server Cleo was both attentive and so much fun. We will definitely return.

We had the BEST experience at the Tide Room. Our server Matt was amazing, knowledgeable and so so nice. The ambiance here is everything. We started with the dumplings and the soy ginger sauce was to die for! I had the scallops and they were the best meal I’ve ever had. My fiancé had the halibut with the deconstructed eloté and could not stop talking about how the cook on the fish was phenomenal. The bread and butter they give you was even superior! We were dying over the pizza herb butter, it was amazing, we would’ve bought 6 tubs of it if we could’ve. A high end dining experience with very reasonable prices! Please do yourself a favor and experience the amazing restaurant!

What a great spot! Booked for our anniversary (and nice happy anniversary card awaiting on our table - nice touch) - and the dining room is beautiful! Bright, airy, with a bank of windows overlooking beach too - great setting for dinner. Menu was very good - mostly seafood, but meat/chicken options too. I got tandoori spiced salmon - really enjoyed. Also a side of sautéed spinach, which was among the best I’ve had. My wife got swordfish and cleaned her plate. Have to say for a restaurant that aspires to be higher end - prices were very reasonable. And our server, Grant, was the best - very attentive and friendly. The Tide Room is a real gem - classy spot with great food that won’t break the bank! Will be back. Bar area looks cool too - and they also have outside seating - ocean front!

Blown away by this restaurant! Absolutely stunning decor and view of the Ocean. The entire property underwent a renovation, and you truly do not feel like you’re in Ocean City. The food was absolutely amazing. We tried many of the apps, that were all equally delicious. For my meal, I did the black truffle crab carbonara and it was heavenly. The service was incredible, we had a wonderful evening. We will be coming back, highly recommend this place to locals and visitors.

My wife and I stopped into the bar area for a drink. It was dark and not inviting at all except for the beautiful ocean view. It was 1:00pm on a Saturday so we knew we would pay higher drink prices. My beers were $7 each. Wife asked for a Cab and bartender said he didn’t have any, would a Chardonnay work. Wife said no she wanted a cab. He continued to look and found a bottle called Greenwing. We were expecting the glass to cost maybe as high as $14 since not happy hour prices. We get the check and I gasped when I saw the price of the glass of wine….$22!!! We would never pay $22 for a glass of wine and c’mon man it’s the off-season in Ocean City! My wife said “$22 for a glass, this must be a very expensive bottle” bartender said Yes, very expensive. We looked up the brand and a bottle runs about $18.99, man talk about price gouging the customer! Bartender then says “I was trying to find you the bottle that would have been $14 a glass, but couldn’t so this was all we had.” Well, at least give the customer a head up on the price. bartender could have simply said “I will honor the lower price since not your fault we didn’t have the other brand in stock.” Basic customer service skills. The Tide Room should just remain closed over the off-season if you are going to charge such ridiculous prices.

We ordered our Thanksgiving dinner and a dinner every night of our stay. The food was OUTSTANDING. If you are in OC, it would be perfect for a date night, family dinner etc. Tim at the bar makes great mojitos. Highly recommend!

I stayed at the Ashore Resort for a retreat back in April and immediately fell in love with their onsite restaurant, the Tide Room. Matt was phenomenal and made us feel at home. My husband and I had already planned our anniversary trip down here and I knew we’d have to go back! You can’t beat delicious food with an ocean view, no matter where you sit. Courtney was our server this time and she was fantastic! Further proving the entire staff is knowledgeable and dedicated to providing the best dining experience. The restaurant itself does have a nice selection of drinks to pair with their top notch menu, which is not easy to do sometimes. (Everything is delicious but crab dip is my favorite! ) If you’re looking for a nice restaurant where you don’t necessarily need a suit and tie or fancy clothes to relax and enjoy, highly recommend the Tide Room. You will not be disappointed. If parking is a concern being that this is located inside of the Ashore Resort, they have an overflow parking lot right across the street!

We were lucky to find ourselves at tide room at the shore hotel. For dinner. It is completely different than last time. We were in Ocean City with new management and most exciting at two star Michelin chef. We were very anxious to find out what it would be like. Since we weren’t familiar with the menu at all and really hadn’t heard anything about the restaurant recommendation. He recommended the tuna tartare, the crab dip, coconut shrimp, and the truffle fries. Wow these were amazing recommendations. There was so much crab in the crab dip! it was unlike anything with ever had and really really tasty. We also ordered crabcakes and brussels sprouts — without a question that was more than enough for four people for dinner. In fact, we all felt a little more than we would’ve liked because it was so delicious. Samuel was our waiter more accommodating. The entire staff was helpful and help make the dinner a memorable experience. the drinks were generous and delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful without being pretentious, and the view of the ocean is always a delight. Even though you can see and have memories of the old Clarion hotel, it is been updated and renovated beautifully the windows when it’s warm enough will be open and in the bar there’s an entire wall that will open , this is a gem for Ocean City and we are glad we found it. We will be back often.

Yelp
This might be my new favorite restaurant in OC MD. We went for my husband's birthday. They said happy birthday and had a card for him on the table. We wanted to get an appetizer but figured we would be too full so skipped it. Cocktails were great. I got an passionfuit aperol popsicle in a glass of champagne. It was refreshing. The other drink i ordered had a coconut foam on top which was cool. My husband kept telling me to order the crab cake since they were supposedly the only restaurant in OC MD that uses actual Maryland crab. But there were 2 other entrees I wanted and I didn't really want the fries and closelaw with the crab cake. So I ordered just a single crab cake in addition to my meal and I'm glad I did that. The scallop dish was great and prob my favorite meal I had on vacation. The scallops were seared perfectly with a nice brown. The combination of the blueberry sauce and the gnocchi and other vegetable with it just went together really well and everything was delicious. I really liked those gnocchis too I wish they put a little more on the entree. My husband got the truffle carbonara pasta so I could steal some of his. I'm glad he ordered it. That pancetta in it was probably the best pancetta I ever had. Nice size pieces with good flavor. Sometimes pancetta can be too salty for me but this wasn't . There were nice size lumps of crab in it and great flavor. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding and that was great too. They put a birthday candle in it. Oh I forgot the bread was great too. The butter that they give you is addicting- the pizza butter is great. There's 3 different ones. We had to ask for more bread since it was so good. I definitely would like to return I hope they add some more entrees and change the menu seasonally.

Yelp
Had dinner here on a Friday night while in town for a weekend. This is a newer restaurant to us - I had not heard of it until this year. Parking is out front of the Ashore Hotel, as well as across the street as well if needed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and came about 7:55pm. The inside of the hotel leading to the restaurant reminded me of a reshell of a previously outdated restaurant. New paint over the old bones, but new decoration as well. The restaurant was kind of cool - different lighting with a balcony area to dine at overlooking the beach. We started with crab dip and crab deviled eggs. The deviled eggs (6) were REALLY GOOD - seasoned well and topped with crab meat. The crab dip though was clumsy to me - almost like a cream of chicken gravy with crab on top. Wasn't the normal creamy and cheesy consistency that you'd expect. Don't know. For my meal - why not - I got crab carbonara. This was pretty good - plenty of pancetta and crab - sauce was good enough. For dessert I ordered the peanut butter pie (for my beaauuutifu--) which I'm pretty sure was just a frozen pie. Still good. Our waiter - tall guy Vataly? was good - and brought refills without prompting. However, the man refused to buss the spent glasses ha. Overall good - worth the try!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed their imaginative cocktails, appetizers and entrees. Josue was our server and he's the best in Ocean City. Best experience of our vacation.

Yelp
Let's give this place an opportunity to re-boot in 2024. We saw an article about the Renovations made and thought we wld stop by for a visit to see how it looked - in prep for summer time fun. It''s a beautiful location and the restaurant and bar have been amazingly remodeled (light, airy, inviting). We came in and just wanted to have cocktails and they were very accommodating. Stephanie was very nice and extremely friendly- she provided us with their menus to look at, we talk about what we can expect in the summer- outside deck, the vibe of their beach front activities etc., sounds like it will be great! We look forward to coming back with our friends to see how things are full summer mode and we look forward to it! Give it a try!! Thanks Stephanie.

Yelp
This place is very nice, Been going to Clarion for 30 years and the new upgrade to Tide Room is awesome. Very good selection of food, waitresses were friendly. Got the crab cake meal which was great. The wedge salad was fresh which was reasonably priced. The wine is on high side in price so got good Burley Oak. Highly recommend and will go back.

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we tried since we were staying at Ashore. We were met by a friendly staff who seated us near a window overlooking the beach. There were a few fresh catch specials and our server gave an excellent presentation for the dishes I wasn't familiar with. Ordered swordfish special , it was delicious! Everything seemed fresh and it was a great late dinner!

Janet D.

Yelp
Our family was looking for a new experience a thankgiving away from home. I'm not going to sugar coat things. First I'll mention the service was great and the ambiance was lovely we had amazing sever named Grace! Loved her. But the food was AWFUL I do not mean this in a rude or boujee way 60 dollars a plate for over salted soggy turkey, practically raw green beans and flavorless Mac and cheese for a close to 300 dollar meal for 3(including drinks and tips) it was NOT WORTH IT. I'm sure the regular food might be ok and I'd go for a first date, again ambiance was lovely but THE FOOD WAS 1 star

Yelp
Amazing Food, Hand Crafted Cocktails, and Ocean Front views! My fiance & I were eager to dine at the Tide Room at Ashore after hearing buzz about their new chef & new menu and it did not disapoint. Upon arrival, we recieved a warm greeting and were seated near the windows with an amazing view of the ocean (a rarity in Ocean City as most nice restauraunts seem to be bayside). We started with a round of drinks from their impressive craft cocktail list & I really enjoyed the Flora Blanc (crisp & refreshing). For appetizers we tried the Lobster & Pork steamed dumplings were excellent with a ginger soy dipping sauce. On to the main course! I had the Day Boat Scallops with Truffle Risotto & my fiance had the Tandoori Spiced Salmon. The scallops were incredible -large with a crispy sear on each side & the mix of the Truffle Risotto with Blackberry Mostarda took it too the next level. My fiance loved the unique flavor profile of the tandoori salmon. Overall, we had an amazing dining experience at Tide Room and cannot wait to go back to try the rest of their menu!

Yelp
My friends and I went on an overnight girls getaway and chose this restaurant to have dinner. Matt was our server and gave us some great recommendations. The 3 of us shared the crab deviled eggs, Ashore salad, Day boat scallops, and the blue crab truffle carbonara. Everything was soo delicious and if you are looking for a place with great food and a great ambiance, I highly recommend Tide Room when you come to OCMD.

Yelp
Amazing food, everything was so delicious, and perfectly made! If you're staying at Ashore Resort, definitely check out this hidden gem right inside the hotel. Server was Josue, and was very helpful and attentive! 10/10!!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food and drinks. I'm amazed. Won't go out much in OC - kind of a food snob. Liquid assets (been going there since the day they opened) - Spain wine bar- Catch 54 - Ruth Chris - Grove Market - AND NOW... THE TIDE ROOM in Ashore. The atmosphere is exceptional and the food is off the page. Creative with great basics too but all elevated !!! It's beautiful. Staff was great!! Loved it !! Can't wait to come back. Ocean views to die for.

John M.

Yelp
Good service, great food, awesome view. The ambiance is impressive and it's unique to have oceanfront in OC. The place next door looked like a good spot to swing into for a drink before or after too.

Joshua K.

Yelp
Decent smash burger. Delicious chicken tinga tacos. Lovely view out on the patio. Great service.

Fred C.

Yelp
This is a place worth visiting. It started with the call for reservations when they asked if it was for a special occasion. It wasn't, but it tells you they want to be special. And they are. The place is beautiful and has a magnificent ocean vista. The only thing lacking was table cloths to make it over the top. But that's a minor thing. We had David as our waiter and he was perfect. Very knowledgeable about the food and history of the restaurant. The drinks were excellent and we were not rushed. While the appetizers were just okay the mains were excellent. I had an eggplant dish that was delicious while my friend had a tuna with short ribs dish which he loved and my wife had a pasta dish that was very good and quite different. I'd recommend any of those choices. This is a go-to place in Ocean City. You pay for the experience but you do it gladly.

Ashwini U.

Yelp
Excellent service and wonderful ambiance ! Our server Rachael was extremely knowledgeable about each and every drink/dish on the menu and provided great suggestions .My favorite was the vegetarian eggplant dish . I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Ocean City.

Garrett A.

Yelp
Made a reservation here so my wife and I could dine by the water. It is a very spacious restaurant and you definitely don't feel crowded or cramped. Great view too. This particular night there was live music. It wasn't very good and a little loud, but not too bad. Added somewhat to the ambiance. The service was HORRIBLE. It took 40 min to get our first round of drinks from the bar and over an hour to get our food. The restaurant was not busy so the felt made no sense. We got crab dip and ordered more bread, which took 20 min and was cold on the inside. The entrees we had were decent. I did not really enjoy the blackened rock fish as it wasn't really blackened, but it wasn't horrible. My wife got the crab cake which was decent. The waiter was apologetic, but never did we speak to a manager despite what I would consider unacceptable wait times. And nothing was really done to try and make up for our wait time. Will never go back. The food isn't nearly good enough to make up for the horrible service.

Deb L.

Yelp
Total gem. Newly opened. Great atmosphere- beautiful decor. Food, drinks and service were excellent. Definitely will add to the OC restaurant rotation.

Yelp
Went a few nights ago. We were told by the hostess that it was their grand reopening and we were the first guests. Knowing this, we braced ourselves, but we didn't need to. Service was excellent in the bar and the dining area. Food was delicious. We had caesar salads to start and then two of us split the seafood linguine and one of us got the rockfish. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. We were too full for dessert, but we will definitely be back. Congratulations on a successful reboot!

Darien M.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance was great! What a difference from a year ago!! Our server was very attentive and the fresh seafood was delicious!

Karen W.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious! Was celebrating an anniversary and got top attention. Thought the prices would be high upon arrival because of its eloquence, but they are similar prices as others in the area. Recommend trying it out!

Amelia S.

Yelp
Wonderful dinner experience all around! It's our new favorite restaurant when we go to Oc. Sunsets are incredible and bar service and food is top notch. Really cool vibe

Roger L.

Yelp
This is my HONEST review for the TIDE ROOM in the ASHORE Resort Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. I ate there Saturday night with my wife and a friend and was extremely underwhelmed. First of all the pricing is like Ruths Chris restaurant, $36-$42 each. First off let me start with the service, it took this young waiter fella 15 to 20 minutes to acknowledge that we were there and to get us a glass of water. By the time he got there we thought we better go ahead and order our drinks since it was taking so long and the restaurant may be had 15 couples total and the bar had maybe 12 people, so it wasn't that they were so slammed with people that they couldn't wait on them. It was clearly that they didn't know what they were doing. So when I placed our order for two cocktails and a glass of wine, our young fella waiter immediately said I don't think you should order the cocktails because they're taking 20 minutes to get. Maybe you should go with a bottle of wine instead, which kind of astounded me since I only saw a dozen people at the bar but we went ahead and ordered a bottle of wine. This is the start of the ridiculousness. He came back with the wine in about 10 minutes and we thought let's go ahead and place order since this doesn't look like it's going that well. I ordered the $42 seafood fettuccine my wife the $25 vegetarian lasagna and my friend the rockfish for $36. I'm gonna tell you it took 45 minutes to an hour to get our entrée's..... and again I remind you, there are only maybe 15 couples in the whole restaurant, so clearly, they have some kind of significant service problem that they have got contained. My seafood pasta was good, but certainly not great just didn't have that real delicious taste you look for when you pay $42 for something and my friend, who ate the rockfish said it was good, but again not great, which, how do you mess up making fish on the other hand, my wife said the vegetable lasagna was quite tasty, but for some strange reason was quite a small little piece of vegetable lasagna that seems like it should've been a much larger serving for $25. The Yungman waiter never returned after he served the cocktails as the entrées were brought out from another person from the kitchen and so we never got another glass of water beyond one or he never poured hard wine in our glasses, which I continue to do throughout the dinner for my guests , it was just amazing and probably insulting. After we finished dinner and sat there for 15 or 20 minutes, he finally wandered by again and asked about dessert. I said sure let's take a look at the menu, and he brought us a menu. However, please note that he never took our dishes away and we sat there for at least 30 minutes after we were done eating and he came by and took our dessert order and never took a single dish off the table... WTF??? The desert, I even forgot what I ordered but it wasn't notable and was probably 12 bucks. So overall we spent $200 on dinner for 3, had the worst service I've had in a long while and paid the highest prices that I've paid in a long time to eat at a restaurant. So if you want my opinion, save your money, save your time And find somewhere else to go. You'll enjoy it more. You'll pay less and you'll probably get better service. Sorry tide room, just trying to be honest for the people that are trying to evaluate your new restaurant, looks like you got a lot of work to do in order to justify these kind of prices for Ocean City. Good luck!

Tanya O.

Yelp
Awesome experience and atmosphere. Best scallops in OCMD - highly recommend! Already looking forward to going back.

Dina M.

Yelp
My husband and I visited the tide room in late June. We have been coming to OCMD for many years and the vibe and the food in the Tideroom was the best we've ever experienced. For starters, we had the tuna sashimi and Maryland crab soup. The tuna was fresh, melt in Your mouth delicious, the crostini and avocado complemented the tuna perfectly. The Maryland crab soup was sensational. For dinner my husband had the halibut which was fresh, cooked perfectly with a great outer crust. We also had the surf and turf (tuna and short rib)...the short rib was falling apart, tender and delicious. The chef here is Michelin rated (and for good reason). This restaurant is a must if you come to visit Ocean city!

Barbara M.

Yelp
Six of us had an amazing dinner last night. I cannot say enough how delicious everything was. The mussels were amazing. Scallops on point. Beautiful view and updated restaurant. Will be back for sure.

Mackenzie W.

Yelp
We came upon this place by accident but were amazed! Service from the bar was great and so was the food. Our bartender even helped us move our food outside which was very kind as he was very busy. The crab dip is amazing! One of the best in the area. The smash burger was also a great surprise. Would definitely come again.

Tammy O.

Yelp
The Ashmore has rebooted the restaurant into a beautiful ocean front dining experience. From the bar with music, to the outdoor deck and then the upscale restaurant is all very beautiful. We had the smash burger and it didn't disappoint. Please be patient as the staffing is short at the end of the summer season

Janet J.

Yelp
this pains me to leave a bad review but the food was so bad we didn't eat it ! the cocktails were not good either , got the Paloma , I couldn't drink it , it was just bad ! the dirty martinis we ordered without vermouth both came with vermouth and they weren't dirty, we had to ask for olive juice and we didnt drink the whole thing , just not very good! my son ordered the special whiskey drink that was 30.00 and he said it was just OK as well. next we got 2 orders of the dumplings, they were so bad none of us (5) could eat them, very fishy tasting the soy dipping sauce was so full of vinegar , how can you mess up a dumpling ? by the time our entrees arrived we were pretty much turned off that we barely ate , the fish was ok , the green beans were full of garlic so none of us ate them , maybe they had a off night but overall I cannot recommend this place as there are so many good restaurants here in OC. Tab was almost 500.00 with tip ! our server was good so no complaints there but service was a little on the slow side but it is a holiday weekend !

Margaret G.

Yelp
All stars for entrees which deserve 5+. I will definitely return. Salads were fresh & simple, apple crumble had little apple. BUT compliments to chef for all-star entrees and apps: jalapeño cornbread, salmon, blackened rockfish. Best in fish entrees I've had in OC in a very long time!
