London’s Best Vegetarian Restaurants | Where to Eat Vegetarian in London | Eater London

"Tucked underneath Richmond Bridge inside converted arches, the main attraction of this vegetarian café is its location and river views. Food is ordered at the counter and eaten outside on a huge sandy terrace overlooking the Thames ferry dock. There are a large number of pastry dishes, such as spicy Mexican bean roll, and a spiral filo pie stuffed with spinach and ricotta. Also on the menu are lively salads made livelier with pickled red chillies; baked potatoes; standard international fare such as chickpea curry and falafel wraps; and a lot of cakes. Visit on a hot weekend and make a day of it with a riverside walk, a boat ride, a visit to nearby Duck Pond food market, and Hollyhock Café down the road that’s owned by the same people." - Sejal Sukhadwala

Tide Tables Café is an absolute treasure in Richmond! Tucked right under the bridge, it’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee, enjoy something delicious, and soak up the riverside vibes. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals, cyclists, and dog walkers stopping by. On a sunny day, there’s nothing better than sitting outside, stretching your legs, and watching the boats drift by. Their menu is packed with tasty vegetarian and vegan options, and everything feels fresh and thoughtfully made. Whether you’re catching up with friends, taking a quiet moment for yourself, or just passing through, this place always delivers. A definite favorite! 🙌🏾✨✨✨🙌🏾

They have many option to eat and drink. I ordered the falafel plate and it was big enough for lunch. Moreover, the prices are really cheap. ✌🏻Being a pet-friendly place is also a plus.🐶🐶

Had a quick breakfast here. Beans on Toast, good helping of thick toast and a cappuccino. Staff were pleasant. The outside seating is nice. Has a toilet for customers.

the atmosphere is quite nice, friendly staff and amazing view by the riverside! (just a bit sad that there’s no basil on the Margarita pizza😭)

Great café overlooking the Thames with exceptional food and drink options. My wife and I visited on a sunny day and there was plenty of seating outdoors.

Google
A very cute hidden gem - vegan/vegetarian cafe! 🌱 I love how when they serve coffee, if you want the “cow milk” dairy version, you need to add extra ££, instead of the other way around VERY good initiative (no need to add extra if you were to get the non-dairy: oat or sprout milk) 🌱 Beetroot latte was super cute 🥰 served pink. Had a tomato mini tart, served hot and delicious. The staff were also very kind, though English isn't their first language. Loved the interior of the place where there is an arch transformed into a hidden coffee shop right by the river👍

Google
Lovely vegetarian food in a great location under Richmond Bridge. We’ve now been here a few times for coffee and cake and for lunch and have always been delighted This is an authentic small local cafe with good service

Very chilled vibe. Great riverside view and lots of shade. Decent food but it's really about the setting.

Yelp
Nice little spot to stop while walking along the Thames with lots to see with the outside seating available. There is inside seating of that is the choice. There is something for everyone to choose from, even having a vegan pasty. The beverages are all fresh and well done and everyone there is friendly, getting food out fast.

Yelp
Be careful it's a scam. Here's the trick they played. I ordered one orange juice and they gave me two. Since I paid first before the orange juice was "made ready", it was discovered too late. Then the shopkeeper offered to pay me back, not in cash but a total discharge to my credit card. He did something on the card reader and asked me to tap again, nothing happened but he claimed the discharge went through, just "takes time". Now I was requested to pay again for the orange juice. In the end I paid the price for three orange juice even I only ordered and got one. The refund for two of them, as you would guess now, never happened.

Yelp
Lovely spot for lunch with a variety of vegan options. We got falafel plates (couscous, greens, falafel, hummus, bread, pickles) and a vegan sausage roll and samosa. They have lots of little tables otherwise overlooking the river and it was a beautiful place to stop for lunch.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, large selection of freshly baked goodies and light lunch fare as well as organic beverages. I could sit here forever.

Yelp
Beautiful spot where you can sit outside by the Thames and enjoy the view. I got the green tea and Portuguese tart. Life is good!

Yelp
Really nice spot for a cafe, right on the rivers edge. With a large outdoor space I can see it being really popular in summer. Sadly being the beginning of autumn the chill had set in and I was able to enjoy some sun before moving inside for a coffee. I ordered the quiche, very tasty, and came with a tiny side salad. Treated myself to carrot cake (my current obsession) and coffee. Really nice coffee and carrot cake was a 3 out of 5 for me. Inside it small and wish they couches were free as they looked comfy place to sit with my book.

Yelp
If you are looking for a good hiding place and to get away from the sometimes busy high street of Richmond, this would be a great place for you. As I live close to Richmond, I walk over the bridge all the time or sit at a restaurant a top the river and watch the ducks swim by... That was until I realized that under the Richmond Bridge, lays a cute little cafe which offers a great view of the River Thames, the people rowing boats or at least failing to row the boats, the ducks swimming by or feed off bread from kids or just watch the sun set over the bridge illuminating lights through its curves. After a long week or day, this is just what is needed especially in the warm Summer sun or cool Autumn breeze. The Cafe is situated literally under the bridge and has a large sitting area with tables and chairs, a bench on one corner and a large tree casting shade over one area if one wanted to escape the heat. In the Cafe, their are teas, coffees, cakes and other sweet things to choose from. The good thing is that the hot drinks are not served in Styrofoam cups which makes it all better enjoying the view-it gives it the "at my garden over looking the river" feel. Overall, it is a great place to hang out although I think most people enjoy the Cafe more because of the scenery but hey, that's not a bad thing! It is very easy to miss so make sure you look down now when crossing any bridge! The only negative I would have to say about it is the management of the toilet which isn't as clean as it should be if "only customers" are allowed. If you do need to use the toilet however, feel free to ask a server for the code (which is usually on a stick note on the side of the cash register... Sshh! Don't say I said so!) I would definitely go back again and even again if the sun stays out!

Yelp
Tide Tables sits under the arches by the River Thames in Richmond. It is a beautiful setting, to get to it, you wander down the steps at Richmond bridge, and through a small public garden. There are plenty of tables and chairs outside to enjoy the view. Tide Tables is a vegetarian cafe, always has been. I'm not sure whether customers come here because they are vegetarian, or because it is just a lovely venue to have a spot of lunch or afternoon tea. I used to come here a lot, back in the day when i was a strict veggie. That was also the time that I piled on a few pounds. The reason being that if you just eat vegetarian quiches and pasta bakes all the time, you will put on weight! This is the kind of food that Tide Tables does. It is old school vegetarian fare. Cakes, pies, quiches, bakes. All vegetarian, and all quite stodgy. Towards the back is a shelf with books and DVDs for sale, all at charity shop prices. There is also a message board with local announcements, and details about yoga classes and alternative treatments. This place also is part of Richmond's community toilets scheme, which means that you can come in and use the facilities without having to purchase anything.

Yelp
Nice vegetarian cafe in a perfect spot: under one of the bridge arches across the Thames and with tree-shaded outdoor tables. Sandwiches, pastries, coffees, and sweets are available. Great for river- and people-watching. Watch out for hyper-aggressive pigeons, though.

Yelp
Food are fresh, people are very friendly! I do love the place! Fully recommend for Vegetarian. Nice outside sitting.

Yelp
You won't find any trolls under Richmond Bridge, just a cute little café! You might miss this little gem at first glance, as it sits in one of the arches, but no doubt you won't miss the huge gaggle of people sitting out in it's garden enjoying the river on sunny afternoons and weekends. Food and drink prices are reasonable (tea for 2 for £2.20), and all the goodies like cakes and tarts are proudly on display. As the previous reviewer said, it is all vegetarian, though if you are a meat lover (as I am) you'll still find some delicious nibbles. Edit: To be noted, the Yelp map points to the wrong location! It's right under Richmond Bridge on Richmond Road.

Yelp
Do you need a place to sit in the shade and watch ducks while eating a vegan cookie and drinking organic sparkling cranberry juice?Of course you do. And here it is! I love the use of the arch of Richmond Bridge, and the inside seating seemed nice. But it was a lovely day and I sat outside and watched the river go by. Lovely.

Yelp
One of the best places in Richmond to sit outside with a coffee, enjoying the beauty of the river and watching the world go by. On a wet winters day it is the type of place you can sit inside with a coffee and a book and really chill. The food will definitely be a hit with any vegetarian friends.

Yelp
Wonderful view of the Thames just by Richmond Bridge. Cappuccinos and Americanos are excellent. Filter coffee is usually too weak, though you get free top-ups on weekdays. Good croissants. First thing in the morning you often get a bunch of kayakers relaxing after what they like to think of as hard exercise - ha! If the French and Australian ones put half as much effort into their paddling as they do into scoffing croissants, they'd be reasonably fit athletes. Still, ignore them - this is a very good cafe.

Yelp
Great chillout place at the river bank

Yelp
Nice veg offerings, a little dingy inside, but the patio is expansive with views over the river. Don't turn your back on your food for a second, the feisty pigeons will snatch practically out of your hands!

Yelp
I used to go there every weekend between 2005 and 2007 when I used to live in London. There was a girl who was giving me free cakes and bread to feed the duck. I wonder she still works there. I forgot her name but she told me her dad was Greek.

Yelp
it's a great place to hang out and eat delicious healthy vegetarian food. My favourite is spinach and feta wrap or falafel salad. Their outdoor area is perfectly placed overlooking the river, great for people watching whilst sipping delicious coffee or freshly squeezed juice.
