Atmosphere: Tierra Colombiana is truly a hidden gem in North Philadelphia. The moment you walk in, you’re transported to Colombia. This was thanks to the lively Latin music, vibrant décor, and inviting ambiance. The interior strikes a beautiful balance between rich mahogany wood and bright, festive colors. It’s the kind of space that feels both cozy and celebratory, perfect for a birthday dinner, graduation party, or just a fun night out. Food: I ordered the salmon, which came with creamy mashed potatoes, a rich caper sauce, and a side of avocado and sweet plantains. The presentation was impressive, and every bite was full of flavor. The portion was generous enough that I had leftovers to enjoy the next day. Service: The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. One standout feature was their digital iPad menu, which included photos and even videos of each dish. It’s a thoughtful touch that makes choosing your meal so much easier, especially for visual eaters like me. Note: Please note that there is an automatic gratuity added to all dine-in meals. It seems like this is regardless of the party size.

I had a delicious 🤤 American 🇺🇸 Breakfast 🍳 yes I know I should have tried the Colombian breakfast (next time, I promise)😅 well service was good, my eggs were perfect and my coffee ☕️ on point. So totally recommend.

Google
Stopped by driving from New Jersey, this place looks like a fine dining restaurant. While I was waiting for the takeout, I saw people eating pancakes, as I know authentic Colombian restaurants do not serve pancakes, more like arepas for breakfast. They don't even have buñuelos. I ordered a few empanadas and a chorizo just to try it. Witch, I waited forever. Empanadas were good, and the chorizo was tasty. The aji was good. Overall, I think this place was made fancy, probably to charge extra for ambiance. I would rather go to a small, humble Colombians restaurant.

Google
It's more a latin than colombian specific restaurant. Best and more generous happy hour in the area hands down . $8 for good cocktails and appetizers from 4-7pm.(no many places have happy hours at Fridays and after 6) . Clean restrooms, nice ambiance. Be aware that 17% tip is already included in your bill. Parking across the street at Ride Aid parking lot. Great place to watch soccer games at the 2nd floor with comfy seats and a bar.

Google
This restaurant has amazing ambience, service, and food! 10/10 would recommend to everyone and I will be coming back again!

Google
I ordered the Picanta Especial and it’s a bunch of dried meat thrown in a pile. Not appetizing and barely edible. I heard great things but I am unimpressed and would never buy anything from this restaurant again. They said this was to feed 3 to 5 people. It’s literally meat and a bunch of carbs and not even a complete meal.

Service was nice and fast and the food came quick which I loved everything that came out, I had the wings and the pionono as my entree. Plus the wild berry mojito. Highly recommend this place!

Google
What a gem this place is! Wanting to meet a friend for an early dinner that was at around the halfway mark from where each of us was traveling, I found this place that had both nice pictures and positive reviews, and boy! where those reviews right! The outside of the restaurant, for starters, looks like they do a lot of work to keep it looking nice and welcoming. While it seems like everyone is chopping down all their trees, they're lining their restaurant with new ones and keeping the plots well manicured. Walking through the heavy wooden door, I was welcomed with a "sir" and a smile. Ordinarily, the only time I hear someone call me 'sir' it is followed up with, "you're making a scene." Relieved this was not the case this time. I was promptly shown to my table, given a digital menu, which was switched to English so I didn't have to use my Google Translate app. I tried an Americano before dinner and an espresso after, which were both nice. The steak I ordered was sizzling on the pan when it was set before me and was beautifully charred on both sides and well seasoned. From the dark-stained wooden ceiling, the brick archways and walls, the thoughtfully-positioned chair rails, the new tile floors and well-chosen pieces of art and decor, the whole vibe was warm and welcoming. My whole experience was a breath of fresh air, and it totally elevates the neighborhood surrounding it. The city would do well to develop the area immediately surrounding this restaurant as a reward for keeping their business so nice. I'll be back!

Yelp
Always looking for new places to eat, I was doing my usual searches here on Yelp when I had a co-worker tell me about Tierra Colombiana. I was told that the portions were the stuff of legend. I was going to be heading out to see a friend perform, and wanted to get something to eat beforehand. Tierra Colombiana was on the way, so I decided to give it a try. Boy, I am so glad I did! I ordered the Chirrasco Combiano, which is a perfectly grilled-to-order steak (I had mine medium), with grilled shrimp, rice, and fries. The photo I've included does not do it justice. It's a LOT of food, but completely worth it! There is also a little container of Chimchurri that comes with it that you'll want to try out too. The waitstaff is attentive, and efficient. The restaurant (and its bathroom) are immaculately cleaned. When (notice I didn't say "if") you go, you'll most likely park across the street at the Rite-Aid. Not to worry, the restaurant has staff that watches the lot. The location of this great restaurant is in what most would call "the hood", it to be honest, that's where you'll find some of the best food of your life! This, is one of those places. If you want original Latin cuisine, you've just found your new favorite spot! Trust me on this: Get to this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. I'll definitely be back with friends. 5/5 Stars.

Yelp
I called last minute yesterday for a friend who needed to bring food from Panama for a school project. This was as close as we could get. They accommodated a late catering order of arroz con gandules and chicken. I was late picking up the order which they also didn't give me a problem with. Friendly staff and lots of delicious food for the price. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great authentic food. Restaurant was actually larger than I expected . Great bar area.

Yelp
Listen this place was and the food was so delicious, especially for the price. The ceviche was tasty. the steak was tender and succulent. My rice and shrimp were so good...wow. The drinks were very good . They even have a photographer that comes around and takes your pics, for a fee. Our server ISA, was very good and her service was on point. The parking is on the street but from what I seen..is some people parked in the Rite aid across the street from this establishment. There are signs stating that they will tow your vehicle. However I did not see any towing. I was lucky enough to find parking next to rite aid on the street. I would stay parked around the rite aid they have very good lighting.

Yelp
My husband brought me here for a dinner sate before a comedy show in Philadelphia. Everything was amazing. We were running late so we preordered and within 20 mins of arriving our food came. Waiters and waitresses were on point. The restaurant was large and plenty of seats. Sunday night dinner and it was packed. Loved it.

Yelp
bistec columbiana was slammin! Fresh avocados and plantains were perfectly made. Will be coming back

Sheiland F.

Yelp
food good, ambiance well, is big.. Music cool... but service so poor, manager doesn't have any idea to give a good costumer service. Service so bad! I didn't recommend if you like a good service.

Yelp
I had a great visit here, but the prices and gratuity are insane. Calamari was excellent, but $13.00 was excessive for the amount. The salmon with shrimp was over the top overpriced (salmon was overcooked until it was bone dry). The Carne asada at Chipotles would run circles around this version. It's a paper thin piece of beef. You should not be walking away while cooking this, and it should not be sitting under the lamp for any amount of time. The drink Tierra passion was excellent, but I came for the food. My guest was happy with her coconut shrimp. Now for the bill. On a bill of $104.00, a gratuity of 18 percent was automatically added. Because I was paying with a credit card, another 2.03 percent was added. Tax was another $8.00. I have, on more than one occasion, overlooked the forced gratuity and have added my tip to the bill, but no more. These restaurants have gotten out of hand. Gina, our server, did a phenomenal job. However, even if she failed to provide good to excellent service, she is guaranteed an 18 percent tip without me having a say. I was definitely intending to give her a 20 percent plus tip, but I wound up reluctantly adding $10.00 to the bill out of habit. Again, Gina was incredible, but this forced gratuity left a sour taste in my mouth.

Yelp
Amazing food. Great ambiance. Definitely recommend for someone looking to try some different food

Yelp
I came here last Friday celebrating my friend's birthday with a group of friends. First off, we asked for more of the complimentary bread and they said it would be extra. In most places whenever I ask for more bread it's usually free. Second, the service wasn't that great. The water was a little suspicious since it tasted like metal. For appetizers, I ordered a set of empanadas that comes with 4 and for some odd reason they provided me with 3 and said one more was coming soon which ended up being 20 min later. Overall, it seems like they are keen on monetary values rather than their customers experiences. I recommend going more into the city and getting better service. Lastly, finding parking was the worst experience I have ever endured trying to find parking by a restaurant in my life. Seems like everyone was parking in the rite aid parking lot which obviously isn't safe since your car can be towed and when I did find parking, I parked in front of a car that seemed like it got broken it to so that's was nice. I give this place a 2/5 for the reasons I mentioned above.

Diana J.

Yelp
Food, service was great. The tip included... no! It would have given more. But the imposition was poor.

Eston G.

Yelp
My wife, daughter and I had dinner here on Friday April 5th. Le the start of by saying that the food was fabulous and they had great sangria. Portions were generous and the food was well seasoned. Here is where we had issues. The service was terrible, as we ordered an appetizer that never came but showed up on our check. We had to ask other staff to have Yareline bring us a togo bog, we had to ask other staff to have our waitress come with our check. Yareline also never informed us that even for a party of 3 there was a mandatory 18% tip included nor did she tell us that there was a mandatory fee for using a credit card. I understand small business cannot eat these credit card fees but a decent waitress would have at least told us of the fee so t was not a surprise. Also, we normally tip 20-22% but the mandatory 18% made us wonder of that is why the waitress was dialing it in since she already had a baseline tip from the moment we sat down. Very unfortunate as the food was great but the poor service and lack of communication about the tip will probably mean that we just go elsewhere.....a little communication would have made this a very different experience.

Yelp
Love their brunch. The bread is great. My friend loves their soup. Vibe is nice too. Been here soooo many times

Yelp
A friend highly recommended this place after a Wednesday night out in the city, so we stopped in. The restaurant was reasonably busy and we could smell all the flavorful dishes as we passed by. We got a serving of their bread and butter appetizer. It was good but we were careful not to fill up. My friend and I ordered the Churrasco Argentino, the Argentinian skirt steak, on medium rare. The side dishes I got were black beans and avocado. It came out sizzling on an iron plate with chimichuri sauce. One bite into it, and I was hooked. Super tender and flavorful, it was cooked perfectly and blended well with the sauce. Probably the best South American steak I've ever had! The table next to us ordered the same thing, except they got the combination topped with prawns! I'll know what to order next time!

Yelp
I've been coming to this restaurant every since I was a teenager and I still love their food. The drinks are always really good. Try the empanadas you can't go wrong with any of the choices oh and make sure you get the sauce with it and the hot peppers. The octopus salad is good. I've had the red snapper which is really good the garlic shrimp over the years I've tried several different dishes and they've all been really good. They also have a really big club upstairs over top of the restaurant it's also really nice in there.. the service is always on point. Everyone is always extremely nice.

Philip S.

Yelp
All of the food we saw as we went to our table looked delicious. We shared paella which was as good as it looked - it contained shrimp, mussels, lobster and rice, it had other seafood too. It's nicely decorated with seaside murals and a Spanish style motif. The service was good even though the place was packed. I was happy that everyone was helpful and they were able to describe the various dishes, unfortunately I only speak one language. Highly recommended - I'll go back!
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
The menu is pretty extensive, so many choices and everything looks appetizing. I ended up with guacamole with plantain chips and mofongo as appetizers. Guacamole was fresh and had chopped guacamole in it. However the plantain chips, was not very crispy. In spite of that, it's still enjoyable. Mofongo was accompanied by delicious and savory broth. My entree was salmon with rice and beans. The rice was bland. The salmon was not overcooked but needs more flavor. The warm bread was so soft and addicting . I ate almost the whole basket. Service was great. Waitress was attentive.
google avatar

El K.

Yelp
Wow! I have been wanting to try this place and honestly, It lives up to the hype. The servers were polite and attentive, the food portions are large so you can def share it with other people, and the place is clean. Parkings: they have an agreement with Rite Aid where you can park there with no issues.
google avatar

Jazmyn K.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. Happy hour menu is always on point. Service is always fast. The waiters have always been kind and respectful. They give you warm bread while you wait. This was my first time trying the snapper and OMG. It was absolutely delicious. I've been coming here for years and mad at myself that I never ordered this before lol. Tierra is a fave happy hour spot. I love this place.
google avatar

Jeremy T.

Yelp
The food and drinks are fantastic! The service is on point literally every time you look up the server is coming to you or checking on you from across the room! Your cup of water never goes empty for too long and everything comes out quickly!! I love this place!!! One of the jewels of Philadelphia!!! The ambiance is cool, but they have looked the same for over a decade or more it could definitely be time for a spruce up! Still love it though!

Steph D.

Yelp
Food is okay but the prices really high not worth the food, they add the tip on your bill, saying group bill. The food takes so long. The place is big but they have do many tables that aren't even open
google avatar

Alan G.

Yelp
This is the best spot for Spanish food in town! Place is clean inside and the pastelillos are so good. The best item is their soup. It was extremely flavorful and filling, I could barely eat anything else I ordered after having a quart of it. Highly recommend this place for a good meal.

Linda J.

Yelp
The food and service are great! This is at least an hour ride for me, and it's worth the trip! I usually get a seafood dish. The food is fresh, and you will leave satisfied.
google avatar

Audrey L.

Yelp
Recently ordered take out for a large soup, online price was $6.25 but I was charged $7.50 and asked for extra bread and was charged $2.00 and received 3 small pieces of bread. I don't mind paying but shouldn't charge customers a different price from what's listed on the menu. This is not the 1st time I've come here and have been charged a completely different price from what's listed on the menu but it is my last.

Yelp
Good food and drinks all the time this is a place I can visit all the times of night and come out with a smile and tipsy

Yelp
Excelente! La comida era deliciosa. Las servidores están muy simpática y me hablan en español, cuando lo estoy aprendiendo. Lo trata.

Yelp
Amazing food! Their empanadas de carne are a great appetizer! Their cafe con leche is one of the best! Their churrasco is tasty. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Holly W.

Yelp
Had a hankering for this cuisine and it did not disappoint. Delicious huge tamale and individual sized empanadas for appetizers. Hot and well seasoned. Had both versions of arros con pollo (Cuban and Colombian); plantain with cheese and ground beef and olives; and a gigantic platter of eggs, sausage, avocado, beans, and round steak. Portions are ridiculously large. Flan for dessert. Yum! Service good. Pleasant atmosphere. Felt safe Covid-wise. Parking easy on street.
google avatar

Felicita M.

Yelp
The ambience of this place is inviting. It reminds you of a Spanish town or cantina. We ordered two Capirinas. Worth every penny! As an appetizer we ordered mofongo with pork and ceviche. The mofongo was served with garlic butter and was arguably one of the best mofongos that I've had in a long time! The ceviche was not at all what I considered ceviche but more like a cold soup of shrimp, onions and avocado served with plantain chips. The food was delicious but the service was horrible! We were sitting there waiting for the waiter to come back and ask us if we wanted anything else. I honestly wanted another drink and water. He never came around again. I believe he didn't seem to care or check up on us because, without our consent, they added an 18% gratuity charge for our dinner which came as a surprise to us when looking at the bill. Gave this a 3 star because they could do better. Note: I apologize as we ate all the apps before we could take pictures.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent place to eat. I'm never wrong about going to this place; the food is great, and the service is outstanding. The prices vary, but they are still affordable.

Juanmi A.

Yelp

Natalie K.

Yelp
It has been awhile since I've been there but the food is fresh and good. I live near the produce junction where they buy some of their produce. The service is hood. It it an attractive restaurant which must be a club at night. It is an amazing oasis in the middle of the neighborhood. Great selection!

Yelp
I love this place sooo much and I always will, the atmosphere is beautiful, the service is nice and the food is even better. I've been coming here with my mom since I was a little girl

Yelp
The food has always been fresh and very tasty. The service can be a little slow at times but the hosts are always friendly and the music is great!

Yelp
Okay, so this is the one of the best Latin restaurants in Philly...especially for sit down dining. I love the old school restaurant vibe here, plus the great menu.

Yelp
Delicious Colombian dishes! Ive been coming to this place for 10 years. And they just keep getting g better. Service is great and the ambiance is like home. Go and try it. I don't have any pics. I usually just devour the food. Lol! I'll have some next time.
google avatar

Yelp
I like their breakfast, fruit shakes, and the appetizer bread is to die for. Service is always good, as well as prices.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is authentic Colombian fare prepared to perfection, I always order the Pandeja Paisa and I'm never disappointed. The staff are kind and on time. This is a place I try to make a stop at every time I am in Philly.

Sherae E.

Yelp
Good food and atmosphere. Service is always stellar. Nice for family outing or date night.

Mildred R.

Yelp
Disappointed, I hadn't been there since before the pandemic. Went for dinner on a a Saturday night. The service was awesome, the ambiance as well they had the grinch available to take pics with the customers but sadly and surprisingly the food was not. I've been coming here since it opened never had an issue except this time. I ordered the grilled chicken and shrimp, white rice and black beans and plantains and everything came out ice cold. The chicken tasted like rubber like it was cooked earlier in the day and sat all day. The rice was crunchy like it was under cooked and the black beans were ice cold and no flavor. I was so disappointed..I didn't make an issue of it because a friend took me out for my birthday.. I always take left overs Home I couldn't be bothered left it.. I really hope it was a fluke...the Tres Leche's desert was great..

Leonard B.

Yelp
Always great food and service. Consistently great on all fronts. Why go downtown. Good, cheap street parking.
google avatar

Darla M.

Yelp
We went for Sunday lunch after church. The restaurant was busy with locals. The food was great. My husband and I shared a Columbia steak with chimichurri, rice and black beans. It was more than enough food for both of us. Everyone at the table was very pleased with their meal. The service was as good as the food. If you want authentic goodness look no farther.
google avatar

Nick M.

Yelp
Great service with really delicious food! Stumbled across this restaurant and I love how authentic it is. The portions were good and the staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable about their menu. Will be returning another night!
google avatar

Lissette M.

Yelp
Excelente!!!! When my family and I arrived we were seated immediately. Water and bread was served after they took our order. Then we were served our drinks. Drinks were great! The food was delicious! I could not believe, I ate it all! What I had was a ceviche with shrimp, white rice and beans. Delicious and I will definitely go back again. Aeschylus family member visiting from Brooklyn loved and enjoyed their dinner. Thank you.

Karimah R.

Yelp
To hear Columbia has great food service is great. I'm going there for the last seven or eight years drinks are amazing one of the best happy hours. I wish they go back to their own happy hour menu.

Yelp
I wanted to like it more. My friends I went with said it was better last time they went, so maybe my this experience was just an anomaly. To start off, the bread was actually insane- my hopes were so high after eating possibly the best free bread I've ever had in my life. We got like 4 refills (they charged like 1.75 for the extra bread but it was so worth). Moving on to entree, I got the picada platter. Rice and beans were solid but everything else was too dry for my taste- my table went through several pitchers of water to wash it down. The chincharron was particularly dry af to the point it was difficult to chew. Plantains were okay. Customer service was a huge letdown. Our waiter was giving us attitude the whole time and arguing with us and forgot to bring the tostones we ordered and tried to charge for them. We told them it was my friends birthday and they didn't let us pick a dessert but just brought a piece of tres leche cake which they charged for (never heard of a restaurant that charges for bday cake but okay). Sadly, my friend is allergic to gluten and lactose. Side note, the cake was delicious and very worth, so this is more of a complaint about customer service. We waited like 15 min just for a menu and another 30 for the check. I honestly think it was just our particular waiter that ruined the experience as all he other staff we interacted with were so warm and helpful.
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Location is not the best; not the safest area. The aesthetics of the restaurant, however, is cute. It's quite big inside. The mojito was tasty; I enjoyed it. The service was super quick, and we were a party of 10, so I'm pleased with that. They couldn't split the check, though, so that was inconvenient for us all. I ordered the bandeja paisa and it was okay. It was more rice than anything for $21. The shredded beef was dry and I wasn't a fan of the arepa. The sausage, beans and pork was good, though! I do have to say that making a reservation was a bit of a nuisance. When I called to confirm my reservation, the day of, turns out they didn't even have me down. The third time I call to make a quick time update, they still had my reservation wrong! It was pretty ridiculous. All in all, if you're semi in the area and are craving some authentic Spanish food then give it a shot! I personally, just don't find myself going out my way to go back.

Yelp
I was driving through from New York and got hungry. I searched along the route and found a Colombian restaurant! I was super excited. I had to divert a little but felt it would be worth it. There is street parking and it was close to entrance. The outside has bright lights and makes it look cool. Upon entry, I was greeted and I sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and I got a great drink. The food was delicious! If I am ever around there again, I'd certainly make it back in.

Yelp
Their ceviche is popping! Overall, the food is amazing. It is definitely a good place to stop by.

Yelp
Tierra Colombiana is located in the Latin American neighborhood in Philadelphia. I am NOT a neighborhood snob. Some have mentioned the area it's in but I will be the first to say that people with all economic backgrounds have to live somewhere. There is not a lot of parking around. You will need to park on the street or go when the Rite Aid closes across the street and park in their parking lot. I visited at 9 on a Saturday night. There was a 45 minute wait. While waiting I sat in the bar area and had a mango mojito. It was 9 bucks. It was very good. Once we were seated a server brought over buttered toasted bread. About 5 minutes later a server took our order. The menu is huge. A lot to choose from. I think if you don't eat Cuban or Colombian food you may be a little stuck as to what to order. The menu is also translated to English, which was helpful. We order shrimp and rice and a version of garlic chicken with shrimp. Both came with sweet plantains and beans. The black beans had tons of flavor and we thought were better than the pinto. The plantains were good and our dishes individually were both okay. The shrimp and rice I ordered was loaded with veggies and while the rice itself had lots of flavor the shrimp in the rice taste like they'd been boiled and stirred in. I can not say that I was overly wow'd by the food. My one critique about the restaurant is that it is loud. Romantic Saturday night...not at all. At about 10:30/11 the upstairs club music started to pound through the floor. I was really happy to be leaving by that time. I'd go back but Maybe to try brunch as to not be overwhelmed by such a huge menu and the club noise.

Yelp
This place has changed throughout the years, unfortunately, for the worse. My husband ordered a pulpo salad and found bugs in it. He no longer feels this place is a good place to eat!
