The exterior of the bakery is classic, interior is small, they have small tables inside and outside. Staffs are very accommodating, food is not that superb as I expected. There is a small patking shared with other stores in the area.

Love this place, I go here all the time to work and study, and it's especially nice that they're open late compared to most local shops. The only foods they have are pastries and basic chocolates (m&ms, snickers, etc.), but it makes sense since it's such a small place. They have indoor and outdoor seating, though the seating arrangement indoors could be feng shui'd better. They recently removed a small table, which made sense for more space, but sucks for less seating. All-around great vibes and the people who work there are incredibly nice and seem fun, though you do feel a general pressure to leave if there's a rush. Otherwise, I love it and will always come back.

Haven’t gone back in a couple years but was reminded yesterday WHY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! YES the coffee is great, YES the treats are delicious! BUT the win here is the atmosphere! Feels like you’re walking into your Tias Dining room, with the aroma of coffee beans brewing in the background. Always greeted by the staff which feels like family. HORCHATA brew all day, Everyday. Thank you guys for your amazing service all around. The experience is what matters.

Google
Chill spot with excellent customer service. The coffee is on point, and per usual I went with the Mocha Mexicana. Good natural light, decent split between indoor and outdoor seating options despite being a bit on the small side as a store. Would definitely recommend!

Google
I paid $3.95 for a "medium, daily brewed coffee" this afternoon, it was just terrible, sour as if it has beed brewed in the morning and was still in the pot ever since. Had to throw it down the drain cause it was undrinkable.

Google
Several times I have gone and I always order decaffeinated coffee because fully caffeinated does upset my stomach. On more than one occasion I was not given decaffeinated and today, well…I can’t continue to go back and risk the stomach issues. So if you need decaffeinated just be warned.

My wifey and I decided to stop in and get some coffees. Nice little location, clean, friendly service and great selections. Our barista was very accommodating and professional. Great sense of humor, pleasant, and welcoming. My wife got the double shot expresso latté and I got the Horchata Frap. When I'm in the area, I'll be sure to get some more items on the menu.

Quick service. Distancing measures clearly followed. Attentive staff. Outdoor seating with a bike rack where you could tie your dog 🐶 Quality coffee and baked goods 🍪

Yelp
Great coffee spot to come with friends after work. Their horchata iced latte and frappe are my favorite. I do recommend ordering through the phone ahead of time to skip the line.

Erik C.

Yelp
The cold brew here is really really good. This one was my first time coming and I had the pistachio foam cold brew. Parking is easy and free right across the street. My friend and I were greeted warmly and our drinks were out fast. I definitely want to try more drinks there with how good the coffee they use seems to be !

Jeremie A.

Yelp
One of the "smaller" storefronts for Tierra Mia but still encapsulates the same vibe and energy that all Tierra Mia's have! Flavor and quality is just as great as the other ones I have been to, and the vanilla cold brew is still my go to. Service was quick and there weren't too many people waiting from drinks. The only down side of this location is that since it's smaller, there's not many seats inside, but there are additional tables and chairs out front which was perfect on a nice warm sunny afternoon.

Yelp
At first glance, Tierra Maria looks like a cozy mom & pop neighborhood coffee shop. Upon further research I learned that Tierra Maria has 21 locations in California. The beauty of Highland Park it that it's a historic neighborhood, so any new business must preserve the history of the building it occupies. The café has a warm & cozy atmosphere. It's small with about three tables inside. The cashier & barista were friendly & cheerful. I'm trying to be more adventurous and order a house specialty beverage instead of plain black coffee. I like the flavor of Horchata, so I asked for a small hot Horchata Latte ($4.75). I also treated myself to the Choco Tres Leches Muffin ($3.75). The latte was delightful. I savored the creaminess of the foam. Underneath I could taste the horchata flavor. There was a faint hint of cinnamon, and the sweetness level was light. It didn't need anything else. The Choco Tres Leches Muffin was unreal! It was so incredibly moist. I cut it in half and could see the sheen of the sweet leche adhering to the cake. The top had a slight crunch due to the delicious crumble. Be sure to order this warm because it is pure bliss. Next time I'm trying the Strawberry Tres Leches Muffin. I'm sure it will be just as yummy! *Drinks are sweetened with Monin syrup. *Residential street parking.

Yelp
British man STUNNED by sheer quality of this coffee. Died on the spot, revived by the Cappuccino. I mean holy moly man, what did they do to this. My only complaint is about my own choices... got a small, received what was indeed, a small. Teeny tiny for babies. But best 1.5 minutes of my life. Anyways, get a large and make your way to Tierra Mia.

Misty R.

Yelp
I I'm changing my current 4 stars to 2 , after 2nd visit which I prolly should've known in my first visit, that this location doesn't deserve 4 stars. We were here this weekend 7.21.24 , the moment we walked in, no greets, one table that became available, remained dirt af!!! They could've cleaned it while we were ordering. No smiles, just bunch of poker faces! I got up to check out coffee items, the girls were staring strangely at me, idk why? Why not ask me if I can be help, or any questions I might have, just attitude!! While there were other patrons, one of the girl laughed so freaking loud, sarcastically like 3 times!!! Was that even called for? She laughed so ugly and so loud!!!! We and others actually looked at each other, prolly wondering why this chick is being profoundly loud and ridiculous!!!! Anyway, as much as I love their goodies, I'm not returning here! The staff here is soooo unfriendly, so unattentive , loaded with attiudes!!! Just conversing, not going out there to clean tables, just bunch of sarcastic girls!!!!!! They're not young either! Sarcastic ladies!!!

Yelp
Tierra Mia is one of my favorite places to get coffee whenever I'm in SoCal or in Oakland. I hope they expand to other parts of the Bay Area, too, because NorCal needs to taste this perfection :) My bf always gets the iced Horchata Latte. You can taste both the horchata and strong coffee. It's the perfect amount of sweet and creamy. I usually get the Dulce de Leche Latte or Frappe (if you like creamy and caramel, this is the flavor for you), but today I got the Mazapan Frappe. There is a subtle peanut flavor that pairs so well with the coffee. It's nostalgic! I haven't had mazapan on its own before, so the taste reminds me of a Nutter Butter cookie :) The workers were very nice and the place was clean. There are a few tables inside and outside.

Lorraine M.

Yelp
Really cute, clean restaurant with your usual coffee shop offerings. Friendly & quick service. The horchata latte was too sweet for my liking & had to throw it away.

Truth Fairy Y.

Yelp
A SoCal staple The drink selection here is *church choir* There are so many delectable beverages to choose from. I know this is a chain, but they really deserve recognition for their work in crafting gourmet beverages. They feature seating indoors and outdoors and do a great job of maintaining an impeccable ambience, changing with the seasons. The interior is clean and a great place to get work done. Their unique flavor selection makes them stand out, and their coffee roast is also standout in its flavor. Year-round, there is no getting sick of their drinks because they are constantly churning out innovative flavors that you can't get elsewhere. I say this only to reveal that the drink I ordered was a basic white chocolate peppermint mocha lol BUT I am pretty selective when it comes to a good peppermint mocha because I looveee mint. I mighttt have to say that this is the best one I've had all season. The flavors were everything that I want and it was the perfect end to a night. I would love to come back and try a blended agua fresca in the summer or any of their lemonades/iced teas because they look really refreshing.

Yelp
10/10 Horchata coffee?! Need i saw more. Also the tres leches strawberry muffin was something to write home about, my god. Wow.

Jessica F.

Yelp
The iced horchata latte was delicious; nothing to write home about but I would definitely have it again or recommend to a friend. The cashier didn't know how to say horchata and I'm not sure how I feel about that. There should be training on how to pronounce authentic names. I'm not from the area, but would stop by again if I were. Okay, but forget everything and know that the tres leches muffin is probably top 10 most amazing things I have ever put in my mouth. Definitely buy it, eat it, buy extras to take home and maybe mail one to me because oh my goodness.

Alex J.

Yelp
Like all other Tierra Mia locations I've been to, the coffee is delicious and on point. I really wish they were able to or choose to expand even more to be more spread out across Los Angeles! However, this location gets a 3 star review due to the service from both the cashier and barista. Unbeknownst to me, this location is in a heavy traffic area right next to a school so kids and their parents are in and out. However, the barista didn't even acknowledge me or give any friendly vibes. I didn't approach the cashier yet as I wasn't sure if she was ready and she just stared at me without even saying "next" or motioning me to come forward. When I did, she didn't say a word until my total owed. Then while waiting for my drink, I and others had no idea which drink belonged to who because the cups did not have names or orders, and the barista was not calling names on tickets.

Sayra E.

Yelp
Their iced horchata matcha is absolutely incredible. This stuff is addicting because I am always craving it! It's always so refreshing and no matter the location it always taste the same! The service here is great, and they get drinks out really fast. This location is small and cute, has outdoor seating as well. Street parking can be tricky, but I have always found some!

Blix R.

Yelp
Yummmmm--Coffee was delicious. Cute little place on a quiet(ish) street in Highland Park. Parking isn't terrible. Outdoor and indoor seating available.

Michael M.

Yelp
Drinks were just perfect. I tried the Mocha Mexicano Latte - Iced for the first time and it was satisfying. It had the right amount of coffee and gave me a little energy boost. Also tried the Caramelo Frappe and Chocolate Mexicano Frappe which were both super refreshing for the hot day. Service was great as the barista was super friendly and attentive to us. It was great to hear her suggestions on what would best fit my taste buds. She even offered us a cup of water since I guess we looked a little dehydrated. Ambiance was super peaceful and relaxing. It looks like a great place to work remote and it's located in a quiet part of town. I would have driven right on by if I didn't have GPS. Totally recommend that y'all check it out!

Liz M.

Yelp
The drinks are great, the staff is friendly and the service is quick. Very comfortable place to sit and enjoy coffee.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
I live in Las Vegas and unfortunately there is no Tierra Mia Coffee :( Every-time I come to LA , its a must to stop by! The coffee shop is located on Monte Vista, across the street from the elementary school. The times I have gone, parking was never an issue. I park by the school with no issue. Upon entrance, I was greeted with good morning. I approached the register and they immediately took my order. I ordered the Horchata Frap for myself and the Rice and Beans Frap for my mom. I love the Horchata Frap so much! My mom loves the Rice and Beans frap. The coffee shop has tables and chairs so you can sit and have your drink and eat your pastry. It is a little small inside but it is extremely cute! The staff is always friendly and always have great customer service. I will definitely be coming back again 5/5 stars

Jasmine P.

Yelp
Tierra Mia coffee is such a great spot! Somewhat small on the inside, but there's plenty of outdoor seating as well. Service here is 10 out of 10 and so friendly! I feel like their drinks land on the sweeter side, but that's how I tend to like my coffee drinks. My usual is the Horchata frappe but this time I got to try the Horchata Matcha - delicious! I will note that it was a bit grainy. I took a sip of my friend's strawberry Matcha and this was not too sweet - perfect if you don't like sweet drinks.

Neale A.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, although it has a cool vibe, the drip coffee I had was on the sour side that could not be helped by sugar in the raw and oatmilk. Not the most cheery of service either.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Took the metro here but seems like there were plenty of street parking. Outside is cute and great for sitting outdoors! Prices are really reasonable and drinks are so good!!! Cashier friendly and helpful! I ordered a Horchata Matcha Latte with Almond Milk and it was sooo good!! Would definitely come back!! Love that they have so many locations too.

Carl N.

Yelp
Tierra Mia Coffee is a small coffee shop and pastry located between Monte Vista at and N. Ave 56 in Highland Park neighborhood of LA. They have other locations throughout Los Angeles County. Interior atmosphere was relaxing and inviting; space was significantly smaller compared to other location. Interior design was cool with wall picture frames. I came here on a lazy Sunday morning to grab a cold brew, guava pastry and cheese delight. Staff was amiable, competent, followed healthy protocol and professional. Prices were fair and competitive. Street parking only. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and enjoyed my cold brew coffee and pastries. I recommend you visit.

Claire D.

Yelp
Honestly my favorite coffee spot in LA. So reliable. Great drinks that are affordable (something that's harder and harder to find here). Everyone's always so friendly, you can tell the staff have a great camaraderie. Unique selection of pastries, great variety of coffee drinks. Unpretentious. Cannot recommend Tierra Mia enough!

Joseph B.

Yelp
I came after so many years of hearing about this place. Location was too small for the business they entend, causing traffic on that entire street. Over priced coffee and pastry.... So Starbucks lol Overall unpleasant experience and the employees all felt very up there own in my opinion, never even look up from the tablet to take your order, the rude customer service just adds to the unpleasantness.

Eduardo M.

Yelp
Ordered the arroz con frijoles frap or arroz with beans frap. Rice is from the horchata and beans from the coffee beans. Flavor is unstoppable and you get crumbs of the coffee. It's delicious would order it again and 10/10, enjoy!

Cindy C.

Yelp
Staff really needs to work on how they're talking to their customers. This morning I went and got a hot horchata latte and a guava pastry in total about $9 plus I added tip.The man in the front gave me my pastry right away. Awesome! About 5 min I received my coffee so I was ready to go when I heard someone ask about their order and while I was proceeding to walk out the women behind the counter yells "DID YOU GET A CHOCOLATE PASTRY" and I looked back confused as if she was talking to me. She then proceeds to say "THAT WASNT FOR YOU" with an attitude. I looked at her confused while I walked out. I was going to ask her what she was talking about but everyone's running late. But just seeing everyone's faces look at me like if I just didn't pay and tip for my food. My coffee was great. But I walked out embarrassed for nothing I didn't do.

Morgan H.

Yelp
Had flies in the pastry case! One landed on a croissant and the barista sold it to the customer. Absolutely disgusting

Jenny D.

Yelp
I remember when Tierra Mia first opened. I came in wanting to try their notorious rice and beans frappe and the horchata frappe. Both amazing but Im still coming in for my horchata frappe when I'm visiting my mom. It's such a guilty pleasure. I've had many horchata lattes and no one comes close to Tierra Mia. What a treat! The coffee quality is amazing too. And if you're local and looking for good quality coffee, I'd stop by and taste the difference.

Gabriel C.

Yelp
Best Mexican Mocha I could Find. Tried other places but this is by far the best. Hope they open a Location in Pasadena

Sierra C.

Yelp
Great coffee and delicious pastries! Friendly service and wonderful authentic ambiance.

Val F.

Yelp
Okay here goes. I love a good lavender latte but I don't get them often because Civil coffee shop is the only place I know in Highland Park that makes them until my neighbor took me out for coffee today at Tierra Mia in Highland Park & yes Lavender is on the menu! So I ordered lavender latte w/ oat-milk and they offer different sizes unlike Civil Coffee shop and it was just as good! So glad my neighbor took me to this hidden gem in Highland Park! I am so excited and all about budgeting the price point and the quality is a 10! So this coffee gets 5 stars I love the homey vibe but still really nice & clean. It still feels like old Highland Park with a nice upgrade to it. The culture is so rich behind Tierra Mia I am so happy to find out we have one in Highland Park!

Katherine W.

Yelp
The horchata latte tasted like dirty water pipes. I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from each time I took a sip. Well, it was coming the drink. It tasted like their water comes through really old pipes. When I walked in, a woman was really getting into petting a customer's cute dog. I thought she was another customer. Turns out she works there. Further turns out she was the one who made my coffee. I had to assume she washed her hands first, because it's a food establishment. But who knows.

Gina M.

Yelp
I was looking for a coffee spot on the way home that was still open past 6pm and happened to find this place. I was so lucky! I ordered a mocha mexicana and a chocolate croissant. My coffee was delicious and the croissant was definitely made that day, it was so crisp and soft inside. They even offered to warm it up for me but I was headed home so there was no need. The atmosphere is very much of a traditional coffeehouse and I appreciated that they had a menu at the register so I didn't have to squint my eyes to read anything. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Bianca B.

Yelp
Food is good service is great ambiance is chill perfect for homework n work . Great place walk to

Daniel K.

Yelp
I've tried a lot of the drinks at Tierra Mia, and for the most part, they're all very good, but what keeps me coming back is the Special Reserve Brewed Coffee. You might not know what this just by reading the menu, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they make this via pour over. The pour over method is a pretty labor intensive and time consuming way to make coffee so some coffee shops can charge a hefty premium for this kind of coffee. Tierra Mia only charges $3.95?? Unreal. The bean choice options change with the seasons but I have yet to be disappointed by any of my pour overs. I don't know how they make money on this drink but as long as they have it, I'll be coming back for more.

Lauren G.

Yelp
By far one of my favorite coffee spots! It's cute and cozy. The staff is always really friendly as well. I've tried their lavender latte, cafecito cubano, and the iced teas-all great! Their pastries do run out quick so make sure to get it early in the day if you do want it.

Danielle B.

Yelp
Their coco loco iced latte was super sweet- more than I expected! Very spacious and lots of seating. Bathroom was out of order when I went . I'll be back again- love this local coffee chain!

Libny V.

Yelp
Oh I love this place. It's so good and their blended drinks are so refreshing during this hot summer. But great service and also the pastries were so good. I tried their chocolate croissant and wow it's great ! Really happy. I believe it's also a bit more affordable than like a regular gentrified coffee shop. ‍

Michelle O.

Yelp
Go for the tres leche muffin and horchata frapp! First time here. It's close to Occidental College I believe, so it's a very cozy, college town kind of coffee shop. Was not crowded but if you want a seat inside , was a little hard to grab one! There's multiple locations but I went to the Highland one. Muffin wasn't too sweet like I'd expected for tres leche! So I was very glad for that, so incredibly moist and soft but didn't break apart! I loved how the muffin had a little crisp on the the edge of the top, so I'd highly recommend asking for it to be heated up. Match this warm treat with a nice cold horchata frapp, amazing. Horchata frapp was very refreshing and not overly sweet.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I wasn't aware that Tierra Mia was a chain of coffeeshops around the LA area, but apparently there are a ton of locations - and the overall consensus seems to be favorable. I met up with Van D. before our goat yoga class at this cute little coffee shop; located in Highland Park near several busy streets, I had a little bit of a difficult time finding the place and scoring parking. There's plenty of street parking, but be aware of the one-way streets! Coffee shop isn't too big - there are some spots outside for customers as well as a limited amount of spots inside. There's a display case of baked goods right by the cash register - calling out for customers to purchase something sweet! as well as their coffee menu on the wall. I ordered a basic small hot latte for $3.95. Price is decent and you get a pretty latte art decoration on top as well. Unfortunately I found a small bit of hair or dust at the top of the latte after bringing it to my table. I ended up just tossing it out, but that made me a little wary about the latte. Flavor was good though and very smooth as I drank it down. On point without being too bitter or too sweet. Even though it was a hot day outside, the latte still was pretty tasty. I also had a bit of Van's Tres Leches muffin - very big and quite fluffy and moist. I definitely appreciated the fact that it wasn't dry at all. The middle was a little wet - not sure if there was actually tres leches filling; other than that, not too sweet and a good treat to enjoy on a day when you want something tasty and sweet. Definitely paired well with the latte. Workers were efficient in getting out orders. Probably wouldn't come back to this location of Tierra Mia as it's out of the way, but I wouldn't mind visiting another branch closer to me if I was in the mood for coffee!

Rafeek Y.

Yelp
Danielle usually likes to stop by this spot whenever we go to church in the area. Sunday was no different. She ordered the horchata frappe which was bomb as usual. The only negative someone might run in to is the limited parking street parking. It hasn't affected us but that's because I double park and stay in the car with Ezra while Danielle runs in.

Van D.

Yelp
I have heard the most wonderful things about Tierra Mia coffee from many of my friends and today I finally had the opportunity to check it out for myself. I was in the Highland Park area for an event nearby and I wanted to hang out in the area early to avoid being late with the unpredictable LA traffic. This is a quaint little spot that was fairly easy to find. Street parking was fairly easy to find and the interior of the coffee shop had about 5 tables and then there was 4 tables outside carefully positioned in the shade of the building and umbrellas. They have wifi!! It seems to be a good spot for the studying students and the families to just hang out and enjoy their drinks. I have heard about their incredible coffee, and I was pleasantly surprised that they also had an amazing pastry selection. I enjoyed a Horchata Frappe ($5.50/large) and a Tres Leches Muffin ($3.50). The Horchata Frappe had the lovely coffee flavors I adore with a bit of cinnamon. It was perfect!! The Tres Leches Muffin was huge. It was nice and soft in the center and it was sweet without being too too sweet. I truly wish there was a Tierra Mia location closer to me!! I really loved their ambiance and their products. What a gem!!

Nick C.

Yelp
Cute small coffeeshop with delicious drinks and pastries! I love getting the Horchata Latte and Tres Leches Muffin. They also have delicious Nitro here, and the Guava Cheese pastry, Churro muffin, and Pineapple Cheese pastry are all amazing. If it looks like they've run out of a pastry, just make sure you confirm with the staff--sometimes the remaining pastries are still in the warmer and the staff hasn't had time to put them out yet while serving customers. There's also both indoor and outdoor seating if you're looking to spend awhile. The staff have been very kind everytime too. Visiting Tierra Mia is always a relaxing and pleasant part of my day. A coffeeshop gem!

MarVy S.

Yelp
I heard great things about this place, and it was true! They also serve pastries like Strawberry Vanilla Muffin (vegan), Guava Cheese Pastry, Dulce Almond Danish, Tres Leches Muffin, Churro Muffin, and more. ::Drink:: Both of our drinks were perfect. The Horchata Latte was just the right temperature, and it wasn't too sweet. It was served in a white cup and had a heart foam art design. I am a big fan of the Horchata Frappe. The drink was not watery, it was thick, and had a lot of flavors. ::Pastry:: The Chocolate Croissant was good, but I wish it had more chocolate filling. You can request for them to serve the croissant warm. ::Customer Service:: It was average. If it were better, I would have added another star. ::M's Notes:: -Inside and outside seating -Street Parking

Brent D.

Yelp
Love this spot! Always enjoy the drinks they're serving up. Ordered an iced horchata oat milk latte. Sitting outside along the sidewalk is wonderful on a nice cool day. The music was all over the place in terms of styles but every song was still a good pick.

Sadie L.

Yelp
Tierra Mia is a favorite for fun Latin inspired coffee drinks. While I usually stick with a basic almond milk latte, I do appreciate the variety and other drinks they offer to appeal to a broad crowd. One reason I go back time and time again is their espresso and service is CONSISTENT! They use a good bean for their espresso so it always tastes good. I also am thankful they don't rip you off with the cost of their drinks compared to a lot of coffee shops. This location in particular is very welcoming and friendly - you can chill for hours and the staff is always friendly and happy. I adore them and they're always going out of their way to get to know you, remember your "usuals", thank you for every tip and always keep a friendly vibe. Oh and if you haven't had a churro muffin - go get one now! They're my favorite though all are pretty tasty and moist. Thanks Rae and crew for making my mornings extra happy!

Sarin P.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with a Cubano on a cool, fall evening. The staff is super sweet and made delicious drinks. I really like this location, it's more cozy and there is a plenty of parking and outdoor seating. If you are in the mood for dessert, I'd suggest coming in earlier in the day as they will have a wider selection of things. They even sell some useful goods to keep your pantry stocked to help out the community. Love it!

Jarenn N.

Yelp
I wanted to find a cafe that was pet friendly and there were a few tables and chairs outside where my husband and I ate our pastries and drank our coffee with our two dogs. We ordered the horchata latte, cheese roll, and tres leches muffin. They were all so yummy! Service here is good. Friendly and efficient. There's a restroom inside if needed and lots of little tables and chairs too. It was decently crowded on a Saturday morning but the wait was minimal. Parking - street, free

Cindy A.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop. I love the cold and hot drinks, it's so good! Totally recommend if you're a coffee person, it's Mexican recipe so you know it's the best.

Kyle S.

Yelp
This coffee was so good. I got a nitro brew, so tasty. It had a nice thick foam , great flavor, had almost a chocolaty flavor. My wife got a matcha horchata, so yummy, pretty sugary. We also got an almond pastry that they heated, so soft and a ton of flavor. Customer service was really great, everyone was very friendly. We will be definitely be coming back.
