The Best Indian Food in Philadelphia | Eater Philly

"With several locations throughout the Philly region, Tiffin is a local standby that’s popular for both dining in and delivery (it actually started as a web-based, delivery-only restaurant). Regulars rave about the butter chicken, saag paneer, and chicken korma. Try the samosa chaat as an appetizer." - Ernest Owens

I was visiting Philadelphia and came across this Indian restaurant which impressed me with their food, taste, presentation and warm hospitality. Staff was friendly and presentation and quantity of all dishes were quite pleasant. Starters were decent portion , shareable and all of them quite tastefully done. Highly recommended if you are in Philly and looking for an upscale place with great Indian food - then look no further.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tiffin Fairmount is hands down one of my favorite Indian restaurants! The food is consistently delicious, and the service is always warm and welcoming. Every visit feels like a treat. But the real stars of the show? Their Virgin Mojito and mocktails — absolutely refreshing and perfectly balanced. If you’re looking for bold flavors and a great dining experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

The food was really good we had chicken korma and shrimp beryani. We enjoyed both of them we chose the spice level of mild which was great for us. the staff were really nice too. The rice could have been cooked a bit more but I think that’s a personal preference. They gave us also a desert on the house.

Tiffin has best Indian food I have ever had. I need mild spicy and everything was perfectly delicious. Their menu has something for everyone including vegan and gluten free. Friendly helpful servers that are genuinely nice. The restaurant gets a little loud when busy but I suppose that's to be expected.

Have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time and when I finally did, I was not disappointed at all. From the appetizer to their amazing entrees and desserts it was so satisfying. Their ambient environment, low background music and attentive servers added more flavors to the dining experience. I can’t wait to come back here. Would definitely recommend this place for great dining experience.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place because they were doing BOGO for a lot of their apps and entrees on Uber Eats. We had the cauliflower bezule, garlic naan, lasooni tikka, butter chicken, and gulab jamun. Unfortunately, this is probably the worst Indian food I have ever had, and I have been to a ton of different places. They got the spice level wrong on the butter chicken (they made it hotter), it wasn’t horrible by any means, but there wasn’t your typical sweetness and richness to it, and to me it just didn’t really taste like your typical butter chicken, mine also was extremely watery. Not sure if it was the rice or the butter chicken, but I found a short hair in mine when I mixed it together, which looked like facial hair, so I was just grossed out after that and stopped eating it. The cauliflower bezule was really gross, I spit it out, I think that is the first Indian dish I didn’t like. To be honest, it didn’t even look appetizing (see pic I took), I have never had it before but none of the pictures looked like that (but maybe I just didn’t like the taste, idk). The garlic naan barely had any garlic, but was otherwise fine. The lasooni tikka was pretty good though. My boyfriend overall thought it was okay, he thought the same about everything but liked the butter chicken more than me. I am sad it didn’t live up to expectations because this place has really good reviews! Maybe off day? Idk.

Tiffin Fairmount is a great option for anyone looking for a restaurant with great service, tasty food, and an exceptional mango mojito. Must try their Mocktails its top notch. Whether you're going for a casual meal or a special occasion, you won't be disappointed. Overall, my experience was amazing, and I'll definitely be returning.

Terrible Biryani Experience worst food I’ve had in Philly. The rice was half-cooked and crunchy. It tasted like they mixed leftover gravy with undercooked rice rather than making actual biryani. It was so bad I had to throw half of it in the garbage. Horrible taste and quality. Would not recommend - save your money and go elsewhere.
