I went with my family for a birthday and their food was so good! Everything was so fresh and delicious but one of the sushi I ordered took a long time to make. Overall, I loved the experience and will definitely be back again.

Google
AMAZING (as usual)!!!!! Appetizers... * crunchy rice w spicy tuna (I know you can get this dish at most places, but they do it best) * bluefin tuna bowl special appetizer (yum - each piece of tuna was cut so cleanly and looked so fresh - combined with the other ingredients over a bed of rice...can be fore one or shared) * beef & white truffle dumplings (if you are looking for a hot appetizer to share with a group, this one is not only a work of art, but dances on your taste buds - dont pass this one up - comes with 5 I think, if I counted right) Special rolls always our 'go to': * If you are a toro lover, the toro roll is soo good! (and they dont skimp out on the toro like most places...also note that it comes pre-infused with a little soy as part of their magic, so dont even think about dipping it before placing it in your mouth!) * Ripple - my favorite roll at Tiga. This combo just does it for me. But I dont love the bonito flake crunch on top as its a little smoky for my liking, so I ask for it without...but others got it with it on and loved it)...not only does the entire roll look really cool on the plate, its really tasty as well) * Foxy lady - wasnt on my plate, but others ordered it and not a piece was left! (and they wouldn't even share!!!!!) * Big Mac: it’s basically their Phish Sandwich with crab salad. Both are their versions of the “spicy tuna sandwich”. Again a little smoky w the bonito. But with it inside, it’s mixed in and not overpowering, so I like it Sushi: * shima-aji sushi pieces: if you are really boring with your sushi pieces and just order tuna/yellowtail/salmon, this is a MUST ADD to the list. Just order at least one piece to try! IYKYK SERVICE: Amazing as well....but.....While the waitstaff did mention that food will come out as its made...one of our appetizers (supposed to be a little "foreplay for our stomach" before the main event hits the table), came after our entire meal. By the time it came, we were at the moment we started to regret eating that much and started unbuttoning our pants under the table (I guess that's always a good sign of a great meal). Given its timing, I guess we could have called it dessert...but that wasn't our intent. Cant wait to see you again!

Google
Food is amazing, they do prefer you to order everything at once and will advise if it's enough food for your party. The crispy rice with tuna is a classic and delicious, portions are great. Definitely would have the Foxy Lady Roll with the truffle Miso - my friends are obsessed with it. House hot sake is great to share - everything on the menu is shareable. Can't go wrong with the yellowtail with jalapeño. Tiga is a solid sushi place. Small restaurant, make sure you make reservations because the food is so worth it!

Google
I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to make an exception for Tiga! This place completely transformed my sushi experience. I used to stick to avocado rolls, but now I’m willing to try anything. Everything is a hit on their menu. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious. My top picks are the fluke, truffle fries, crispy rice, any sushi with Brussels sprouts, and the edamame dumplings—they’re absolutely amazing. Tiga has become a staple for me, and the service is just as impressive. They provide exceptional five-star service. Thank you, Tiga! I’ll definitely be back!

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tiga and can confidently say it was the best sushi I’ve ever had. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were exceptional, and each piece was a delightful experience for the palate. In addition to the outstanding sushi, the warmth and hospitality of the staff truly made the evening special. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine kindness and care. Thank you, Tiga, for an unforgettable dining experience. We will definitely be returning soon!

Google
Th food was all good. The Brussel sprouts in the Chilean sea bass was excellent. Uni was super tasty as well. UPDATE: the food is still as good aa it was before. The best dish was the Thunder roll that was being offered as a special. The uni from the specialty menu was also very good. It was thick and creamy unlike others that are watery and thin. Only complaint was it took a long time for the food to be serviced on a Saturday night.

Google
Highly recommend. I love the ambiance inside, the space is a bit small which gives them the time & attention necessary for every order. Each dish is a symphony of flavors that leave your tastebuds satisfied. Grateful to have a spot like this so close-by. The best quality sushi on Long Island, and some of the best I’ve had overall.

Andrew L.

Google
Probably some of the best, if not the best sushi I've ever had in my life. I had the Sugar Mountain roll, and it practically melted in my mouth. Ashley was our server and was an absolute delight. She was awesome and made some excellent recommendations. Great service and an even greater sense of humor.

Yelp
We had a very disappointing experience here. From the moment we arrived, and walked through the shower curtain entrance, the staff spoke to us in an incredibly condescending way -- as if we were an inconvenience rather than customers. Simple questions were met with eye-rolling and curt answers, and the overall tone made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that value their customers -- I'd highly recommend choosing one of them instead. PS. I was generous with a 1 star rating.

Yelp
I've tried to walk in three separate times, but they were always fully booked. Therefore, you should definitely make a reservation if you want to eat here. Once we finally got in, the service was fantastic. One thing that really stood out was when a passing server showed us another table's dish to highlight the specials. I thought that was unique, and honestly, it worked. I ended up ordering one of those dishes because it looked too good to pass up. We ordered several dishes, which they brought out gradually so we could savor them one by one. Here's what we tried: 1. Foxy Lady 2. Beef and White Truffle Dumplings - hands down the best dumplings I've ever had, unlike anything I've seen before. 3. Killer Queen (specials menu) 4. Grand Wazzoo 5. Just Like A Woman Every single dish was delicious. It's the first time I've eaten sushi without touching the soy sauce. The presentation and creativity were next level. This is easily the most unique sushi place I've ever been to.

Yelp
My wife and I went on a date here earlier in the month and have been thinking and talking about it ever since. So we are going back tonight. The food here is incredible, and that is including the complementary popcorn on your table as soon as you sit down. We shared the Foxy Lady Roll, Edamame dumplings, crispy rice with spicy tuna, spicy dumpling soup (they even split it into 2 small bowls for us), a specialty roll & lycheetinis. The one thing I'd say to skip is the crispy rice with spicy tuna because the outside of it is too hard and the rice inside too thick. Otherwise, everything else was perfection. The foxy lady roll especially stood out. We cannot wait to go back. Definitely added to our favorites list!!

Yelp
Got take out from here and was very impressed. Sushi was fresh and the cooked dishes were very good. We stuck mostly to the sushi dishes and had a lot of success. Sansoku was very good, nice mix of good quality sushi nigiri and a roll. My wife had the sashimi dinner and loved it. Also liked the. Vegetable rolls. While we did not eat in I did go to pick up our food and the decor was very nice and, while small, the place was busy and had a nice atmosphere.

Yelp
Me and my partner really enjoy this place! The food is delicious, the service is attentive and don't hover. The restaurant is small but the food makes it worth it.

Yelp
TLDR: Quaint little neighborhood sushi restaurant. Small place so make a reservation. Spicy Dumpling Soup, Toro/Ikura Roll, Grand Wazoo and JUNGLE LOVE. I'm not sure how we ended up here but we came in for a Friday night. A few locals recommended it but I was pretty skeptical to be honest. The menu just read like something I don't care for but figured let's try it out. It's small but dark and cool for a local date around town. We tried the cocktails, both had yuzu and they were pretty solid. The Spicy Dumpling Soup was very flavorful, kind of reminded me of instant noodle soup base with dumplings but not in a bad way - it was tasty. Truffle fries and yogurt were solid. Spicy tuna crispy rice was standard. Toro/ikura roll. The ingredients do the heavy lifting but this was great. Fatty, nice pops of salty brinyness from the roe, not too much rice. Grand Wazoo. Spicy scallop, torched squid? Very interesting and very delicious. Jungle Love. I don't know what this was supposed to be. An obscure list of ingredients but this thing was TASTY. Shrimp, avocado, goat cheese, brussel sprouts, imitation crab, tuna. As strange as this sounds - this baby slapped. Most memorable bites of the night. I went in doubtful and left knowing I'll be back. Cheers.

Yelp
Found this place based on the growing high rated reviews. There's a few sushi spots on this block alone but Tiga seems to do really well despite their small space. Definitely recommend making a reservation. The bar is the best seat in the house to watch 4-5 chefs work their magic. Started off with the spicy tuna over crispy rice. Rice beds were cooked to crispy perfection, the tuna was so fresh and I like that they chop it instead of just throwing a piece on like most places. You can tell the chefs work really hard and master their craft with every dish they put out. At one point I think my date was hypnotized at every movement they made. About a 1/4 way through our meal, still working on the appetizer, I noticed the bar was empty. I politely asked if my date and I can move to the bar, she said they are reserved. 1 couple came in and there was still 2 seats left. They never filled those seats and we were forced to sit against the wall feeling squished and tight for the rest of our meal. That's the only reason why I gave 1 less star. Our waitress was super nice and pleasant. Seemed a little overwhelmed at times but was still attentive. I will definitely come back as our 2 signature rolls were so amazingly delicious. Didn't get to try any hot food or other appetizers but will definitely be back because the sushi is so fresh and delicious.

Yelp
Delicious every time! Whether we eaten, or take it out. The only thing I would say is that it's very small, so it's hard to get seating at times. The dumpling soup is one of my favorite things, and we could sometimes just order that to bring home. The rolls are amazing. The sweet Jane is my absolute favorite to the point where I sometimes even crave it. I hope it lasts a long time Port definite hotspot. Definitely for a reason.

Yelp
The food is fantastic. The service is beyond excellent and the atmosphere is cozy and warm..Highly recommend the tuna pizza. I've never had anything here that was less than excellent.

Yelp
If I could give this place ten stars, I would. This is absolutely elite sushi. Nothing compares. It's all hand crafted and you can taste and see the care, effort, and intention that goes into each piece. Our waitress had incredible recommendations and guidance with the menu, and we could tell she was so passionate about the food/ restaurant. It's small inside and you need a res, but it's a cool atmosphere and looked cool to sit at the sushi bar. Best spicy tuna crispy rice I've ever had- perfectly crispy on all sides, delicious blend of sauces. The edamame dumplings were almost an Italian fusion- with parm and truffle- they were delish. Only complaint was I wish there were more on the plate! All of the fish was insanely good quality. I'm dying to go back and think about it every day now. What an INCREDIBLE spot. Truly, kuddos to the owners/ chefs and whole staff. The food left me speechless, but clearly I still have a lot of great things to say!

Yelp
The service here was unacceptable. We were seated directly in front of the AC unit and it was freezing. We asked them to turn it down twice and they failed to do so. We called to make a reservation for three people, the hostess initially said no, but then proceeded to offer us a high top table. As this was our first time hearing about the restaurant or attempting to make a reservation, we accepted the high top, not knowing the size. this table could BARELY fit two people, including food and drinks. We were forced to use the staff countertop next to us as part of our table. They failed to apologize for these accommodations, recognize that this was unacceptable, or offer to move us. In regards to the food, they forgot to leave the complementary popcorn appetizer at our table. We had to request it halfway into the meal before they realized that they forgot it. The food itself was good but was not worth the price or experience that we had dining here. Non accommodating staff, I expected better from a place like this. Many other upscale places in Roslyn are better value and service.

Yelp
Second time back, it was phenomenal and on short notice. You cannot come here on a Saturday night without a reservation. Even if you don't mind sitting at the sushi bar or a high top reservations are usually a must! Well guess what? The manager Linda was super accommodating and I was able to get a table. Absolutely worth the trip from anywhere. What can I say...they have great food, has a great vibe, calming decor, eclectic, great staff, awesome team work and everything just falls together well. The owners are working not just investors or observers. The food is prepared with love and everything tastes super fresh which is critical with doors. We had a number of dishes, 1 repeat from last time which was the special sashimi salad. My favorite dish so far was the BBQ ribs in a plumb sauce which was a meal in itself, filling and very inexpensive. Everything we ordered was under $20 and was shared. We also had the edamame dumplings, the Big Mac roll and the Grand Wazoo roll. The food is amazing, the crowd was great and it's a great place to hang. I strongly recommend Tiga as one of the best spots in New York to eat.

Yelp
This is my spot. I go here once a week. Everything is amazing and mostly stick to the sushi and not the hot food. Service is always excellent. Always the same servers and faces they already know what I want. Very cute place it's like home to me. I choose to sit at the bar because the seats in the dining room are not entirely comfortable. For some reason I slide down on them. Maybe it's the food coma haha. I love watching the guys at the bar everything so intricate tasty fantastic every time I go I can't wait to go back . I hope they put a piece of my heart roll on the menu permanently. Please tiga love you

Yelp
Loved this place - but giving it 4 stars because I expected more in terms of seating and ambiance and cocktails. There's no cocktail menu except a few with soju/sake... and they're $18 where as a bottle of wine is $45+ so if you're with drinkers or more than one person, the wine may be the cost friendly option. It's a dark rustic looking spot - if I didn't see the sushi counter I'd assume it's a small spot in Brooklyn... almost looks like a bar. Anyways - the food here was incredible. Port Washington is local yet a trek cause it's not conveniently off a highway. The uni here was the best I've ever had and sourced from Japan - you can tell by the taste and texture. We had toro nigiri which was wow, a special roll which I forgot but was wow, the crispy eggplant special which was nice and different The crispy rice which was great, edamame as well and the star of the show - the Uni and Toro Sundae!

Yelp
Came here based on a recommendation from a Long island local. I have to say, Tiga is a solid spot for fresh sushi! I booked a reservation through Resy easily for 6:30PM on a Friday and it was packed when I got there. We get seated promptly. The place is small but it felt cozy. My friend and I ordered two pieces (sushi) of toro topped with uni. It literally MELTED in our mouths! It was $25 a piece and I felt that it was worth the price tag. The uni was undoubtedly fresh and creamy. We also ordered the Grandwazoo which consists of spicy scallop, avocado, torched squid, lime zest, tobiko, and it had some crunch to it! It had a unique flavor and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered "Sushi 23" which had 7 pcs of nigiri and spicy yellowtail roll. The spicy yellowtail roll had a nice kick to it and did not taste like your average yellow tail roll! It was a nice surprise. The 7 pcs of nigiri were all different, but in a good way. I appreciated the fact our server asked beforehand if we had any fish preference that we did not like. The only thing that made this 4 stars instead of 5 was the brussels sprouts appetizer. We loved the ikura that was sprinkled throughout the dish and the flavor was all there. However, it was drowned with too much sauce that it became too salty and the brussels sprouts ended up becoming soggy. I think I would have preferred it if the sauce was on the side instead. Nonetheless, the sushi was memorable and was the reason why I came. I would definitely come back again to try more of their dishes!

Yelp
I'm so happy I found Tiga. As someone who has been to many sushi restaurants and thoroughly enjoys some good sushi, I can say that Tiga is my favorite spot on Long Island for some yummy fresh sushi. Some of my absolute favs are the edamame dumplings (A MUST), crispy tuna rice, the fluke carpaccio, sugar mountain roll ( A MUST), and the Jane roll. Edamame dumplings are a perfect balance of savory and acidic, literally melt in your mouth. The sugar mountain roll is hands down my favorite roll, the flavors are so unique and it's a burst of flavor in your mouth with each bite. Service is awesome, they always have interesting and fresh specials of the day & we always leave excited to come back next time. The restaurant itself is a pretty small and intimate setting, perfect for a date night or casual dinner with friend. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
Great food! Was our first time wont be our last. Loved the salmon carpaccio, the rolls and the seared Scottish salmon sushi! Next time will try the waiters recommendations of seared red snapper and mackerel (they will sear almost anything you want) I wasn't a huge fan of the crispy rice with spicy tuna. I have this a lot and the rice was too dense and crunchy
google avatar

Bryan G.

Yelp
Hands down the best sushi in Long Island, it's not even close. Tiga feels like a trendy NYC sushi restaurant. The sushi chefs are top notch creating innovative, beautifully plated, and amazing tasting dishes. Some highlights are: spicy dumpling soup, scottish salmon, crispy rice with spicy tuna, tuna pizza, and any of their specialty rolls. If you love sushi and haven't tried Tiga, it's a must.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I really love the food at Tiga, it's one of my favorites restaurants. It's a small business so you have to go with the flow how they do things and how they run their restaurant so if you can get past that I would highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious sushi, might be the best in port Washington! Highly recommend the Billy Joel roll and the roll with the Truffle miso sauce. They load up the special rolls with a lot of great quality fish.

Yelp
Incredible to say the least. Service was top notch , decor was very trendy. Food was excellent. Has a Williamsburg vibe in Long Island.

Yelp
Everything from apps to the rolls and sashimi plate was on point. Great service as well. Thank you.

Yelp
Tiga is truly beautiful experience a little on the salty side especially the warm mushroom salad and the steak, but still yummy. Open 4-years but just discovered on my daughter's birthday dinner celebration. Go with the special menu for - too pretty to eat - seasoned sashimi liberally sprinkled with tiny flower patels, micro greens, herbs, etc on beautiful ceramics. Some things needed to be washed better but the waitress more than made up by being friendly, helpful and very accommodating. My daughter loved the complimentary birthday lavender oil ice cream. Thank you for a memorable meal, we will be back. Yes, we definitely recommend to all!

Yelp
I've come to Tiga multiple times and can say that the food is excellent. Fresh fish, interesting flavors, and unique combinations. However, my review is not based on the food but the service that I had experienced tonight. My servers name was Jennifer and was by far one of the best servers i've ever had. I've been a part of the restaurant industry for a long time and could only hope to work next to someone like her. She was quick, caring, and a joy to be around. I am a firm believer that a restaurant is only as good as the people working there. Even though I already planned to come back to Tiga again and again for the food, I'll return endlessly for the service. (Everyone who worked there is wonderful, Jennifer was the only person I got by name).

Yelp
Haven't eaten in the restaurant yet but have gotten takeout. You can tell the sushi is very fresh, but it's a little pricey depending on what sushi you get. The interior of the restaurant is VERY small and cozy and located in downtown Port Washington. I ordered 2 scallop sushi and 2 tuna sushi and the phish sandwich. The total was $43, which was a little pricey for pickup. Also, there is no parking except for street. It's hard to get a reservation here because it's so small, but it's definitely worth it! The sushi were out of this world, but I would order a different roll next time. Excited to try it again!

Yelp
Would highly recommend! Always have new fun fresh specials. Everything we tried was so good that we even came back a second time before we left town! !

Yelp
Amazing quality sushi and incredibly nice staff. The rolls are super unique and always a 10/10!

Yelp
Port Washington has an abundance of Japanese restaurants but Tiga is most definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Tiga is not a traditional Japanese restaurant and falls more along the lines of modern Japanese fusion but regardless, the food is great. The location is pretty small (maybe about 15-20 people tops in pre-pandemic times) but the decor is very modern, casual and clean. The menu here isn't incredibly extensive but what they have is darn good. We started with a few appetizers that did not disappoint. - crispy rice with spicy tuna (excellent and well seasoned), yellowtail with yuzu and jalapeño (fresh and vibrant), soy garlic yuzu wings (crispy with an incredibly succulent sauce) as well as their roasted eggplant special topped with spicy mayo and seafood (perfectly cooked and seasoned). Main courses were also top notch - sashimi was very fresh, sansoku plate was delicious, Chilean seabass was cooked to perfection topped with yummy trumpet mushrooms and brussel sprouts and the big mac roll was mouth watering (although they would do better to cut the pieces smaller). Service here was very good - courteous and fast. Prices are comparable to other establishments that serve similar fare in the area. My only tip would be to make a reservation since this place fills up quickly. Definitely a thumbs up.

Yelp
The cold dishes are what I would come back for! The Fluke Carpaccio and the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapenos were my favorite! We also ordered the Scottish Salmon and the Spicy Scallops. The Scottish Salmon, while good, pales in comparison to the first two, and the Spicy Scallops, I would not order again. The Cold Smoked Yellowtail and the Shoyu Marinated Ikura were also delightful. We ordered both pieces as sashimi, and if I were to do it all over again, I would order the Ikura as a roll instead. The spicy dumpling soup was a little too salty for my liking, and the dumplings were lackluster. The mushrooms were great. The Sansoku, the sushi rice in the roll was too mushy. The tuna wasn't the freshest. I would not order again. The Grandwazoo was drenched in, I think, spicy mayo. I would have preferred the spicy mayo on the side, or maybe only a quarter of what they used.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had. I still can't stop thinking about the crispy rice with spicy tuna or the spicy dumpling soup. Server was attentive and helpful as well. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Some of my friends have raved about this place being one of the best fusion sushi restaurants they've tried and decided to bring me here for a celebratory dinner. We live south of Brooklyn but I was told that this trip is worth it because it's just THAT good so I definitely came in with some high expectations. Upon entering the restaurant I was presented with a hip and rustic vibe with the inclusion of some neo-Japanese art pieces on the wall which I think definitely matched the type of food that was being served here. Also wanted to give a shout-out to the waitress here who was always very attentive to our needs despite how busy and packed this place was when we arrived. Our party of 4 decided to order a variety of different sashimi pieces and specialty rolls. I would say the fluke carpaccio and the foxy lady roll stood out to me most. I loved the yuzu citrus flavors paired with the thinly sliced fluke and the truffle miso sauce from the foxy lady roll was unforgettable. I loved that the foxy lady roll used radish instead of rice to add a light contrast in textures for each piece. The Scottish salmon was also very good with the soy vinaigrette that it was dressed in. The salmon had a perfect amount of fattiness and was garnished with crispy capers and tea rice, which once again was a great addition for a contrast in textures. What I've noticed about each menu item here is how well balanced the flavors are, with a focus on variety of textures. There was also an emphasis on truffle and yuzu flavors which I am a huge fan of (truffle is the first thing you smell when you walk in this place). We ended the night with some mochi ice cream and I would definitely have to recommend the ube and espresso flavors. I would say Tiga was definitely worth the trip and I would definitely come here again for a special night.

Yelp
Best sushi on Long Island! Fish is fresh, rolls are innovative, appetizers are tasty and the service is incredible. When you sit down, they serve you popcorn with truffle salt to start and then the menu has extensive appetizer and roll options. I usually get the Scarlet Begonia roll, which is a soy wrapped roll with many different types of fish on the inside. They have great vegetarian roll options and their brussels sprouts are some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant! There's one waitress there who is incredible and gives the best advice when ordering. Make sure to have a reservation before you go! The restaurant is super tiny and it is a very popular spot.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Every dish here left me in awe and it was truly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! From the service, ambiance, to food - everything was exemplary and I 1000% recommend this restaurant. My friend made reservations at 5pm (their opening time for dinner hours) and upon opening, there was already a line of people waiting to get in! You know the food's good once you see people waiting. Upon seating, our waitress was amazing. She was attentive to our needs and extremely informative with answering our questions with the menu selection. The ambiance stood out to me because of the interior decorations. The restaurant has a combination of rustic and modern vibes with the exposed brick and wood. Definitely a great spot for a romantic date! As for the food - W O W. The quality of every dish was impeccable and I don't think I've ever tasted anything so great. Here's the catch - I normally can't tolerate raw fish because of the sliminess but Tiga does an exemplary job of removing that fishy, slimy taste from their raw fish. Tiga is not your typical sushi restaurant, but rather they take the ideas of traditional sushi and throw in their own innovative signature to their fish. There was yuzu and truffle oil on every fish we tried, and that complemented the fish very well. Every fish we had tasted fresh and it melted in my mouth. Every dish we ordered exceeded my expectations, but the ones that stood out to me most were: scottish salmon appetizer (order rice with it and pour the oil on it!), foxy lady (the truffle miso sauce is HEAVENLY), and lastly all of the nigiri pieces. Tiga left a mark on my heart and the food here really set a bar for my expectations on fish! Thank you Tiga for such an amazing experience.

Katherine C.

Yelp
This was a unique experience and definitely worth a try. That being said, the food was a bit on the salty side and I had a hard time finishing the food because of that. It was a nice dinner but it probably isn't something I would try again. There is a little bit of everything for everyone on the menu, even those who do not eat sushi or raw fish. The restaurant itself was pretty nice and spacious. I did not feel cramped despite it being a small area. Reservations are highly recommended, even on a Wednesday night. There is plenty of street parking around the area and it is free after 6pm.

Yelp
This is called the Tiga train wreck! I just survived one of the most upsetting culinary experiences of my restaurant history. My warm mushroom salad was excellent as usual. The pork Yoza was also very good. I also ordered the seafood with eggplant. I was told it was delicious and decadent. When it arrives, it was extremely unpleasant and the seafood seemed fishy. I immediately brought my distain to my waitresses attention. She informed me that no refunds are given on dishes where the customer is not satisfied with the taste of the food. I then informed her that the fish seemed past its prime. She did not accept my feedback and said that I was going to be charged regardless. I asked to speak to the manager, Linda. She said Linda would not be wanting to speak to me since the policy is very clear. I told her in my entire history of dining experiences. I've never encountered this type of policy. She said that had no influence on the decision to charge me for The Dish, regardless of my distaste for it or my opinion of the fishes quality. Lynda never came over to speak to me because she said the matter had been settled since the policy was not flexible. I was completely outraged and decided to not discuss this with Chef because I might have lost my temper. Before you order any new item, make sure that it's clear that you will buy it regardless of whether you like the taste or not. I have been a fan of Tiga since the early 2000s and have supported their entry into Port Washington. I cannot believe the owner would actually have backed up this policy but will not know since I decided to not discuss this with him since I was so outraged.

Yelp
Called in for reservations in advance and requested a table for 2, which required credit card information. (They also use resy to take reservations. I assume there is a charge if you are a no show) Come the night of reservations, they showed us to the sushi bar. How did the table for 2 turn into a seat at their sushi bar. The manager offered a nearby table, but the limit is 1 hour. Whatever fine, sushi bar. I get to sneeze over everyone else's food. The hostess/server tried her best to save the disappointment for the night with the seating arrangements. Compliments to her for keeping things cheerful. Their specials are probably what tastes best. No omakase. Another disappointment. The crab salad is not bad. The special rolls: Grand wazoo is good. phish sandwich and sugar mountain - way too sweet for me. Felt like sugar overload to me. Yes, it's got the word sugar in the name. But hard past. Couldn't finish that. Packed it to go for no idea why. Maybe if I am starving later in the evening, I might take it out?! Got home. Food was so bad I forgot to take it up into the house from the car. Had to go back for it. Disappointed.

Yelp
Such a nice and unique experience-we made reservations at the last minute but they were kind enough to seat us at a high top bistro table across from the sushi bar. It was our first time there and so we didn't realize how small the space was and I was a bit skeptical that the food wouldn't fit on the table but our waitress , Ashley who was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all the specials and was able to suggest a combo of hot and cold dishes-each was brought out one at a time and they got better and better. We started off with the carpaccio which had a citrus sauce that was to die for, then had the toro roll topped with salmon roe, SUGAR MOUNTAIN with masago ( not surprisingly a customer favorite!) and lastly the ribs which absolutely fell off the bone- I couldn't eat another morsel so we will have to go back several more times to try everything else. My applause to the chefs ( and the waitstaff) who work very hard and I think I found my new fave in Port!!!

Yelp
This was my first time at Tiga, I couldn't be more thrilled. Although small, the ambiance is pleasing and intimate. I truly think I had the single most delicious bite I have ever had in my life. The Edemame Dumplings are a MUST!! Only 4 pieces so I recommend you order your own, it's so good you won't want to share. I also recommend the Crispy Rice appetizer and the Dynamo Hum roll. Yuzu Lemon soda was refreshing. I can't wait to go back!! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful in answering questions and suggesting popular items.

Yelp
Ordered takeout tonight and it was exceptional! I emailed my order before 3pm and it was ready by 5:30pm. Super easy process. My kids had salmon avocado and avocado rolls - both fresh and tasty. The parents ordered: - Spicy scallop: standard, tasty - Part Time Lover: vegan roll with miso eggplant (so good!), fried sweet potatoes and shiitakes with forbidden/black rice on the outside. Definitely an inventive roll and I appreciate this so much as many restaurants fail to do interesting veg roll options. - Grandwazoo: my second favorite roll; spicy scallop inside and torched squid on the outside. Loved the charred flavor. - Sugar Mountain: didn't love this one, but I guess I'm the minority here. Ordered it cuz of the great reviews. Hubby loved it though. Not a huge fan of yuzu and there were thinly sliced lemons on top - also didn't love that. We also got a gratis cup of sake with the order. Nice touch! Definitely our new go-to sushi place. We're normally taking out from Kotobuki in Roslyn. This place has better sushi, service, and I didn't have to wait forever to pick up.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I have no words but absolute perfection for this place. I went with a couple friends and I apologize that I have no idea what the name of the dish are. However, I post most of the pictures and let me tell you that each one are executed perfectly. there's a Brussel sprout dish which was absolutely gorgeous. The sprouts were roasted to achieve slight crispness with smoky flavor and they absorb the savory teriyaki-ish sauce perfectly. another appetizer called salmon pizza is made of triangle tortilla chips topped with raw salmon and various condiments. I recommend to take it all in one bite and I promise you they taste like party in your mouth. All of the raw fish appetizer tasted incredibly fresh and went incredibly well with all the sauces. The scallop was cut into perfectly thin slices and went remarkably well with the sauce The sashimi plates were marvelous! Thick and fresh slices of raw fish with freshly grated wasabi. I repeat the wasabi was freshly grated! And the uni sushi!! Just beautiful! Even the scallop sushi roll was beautifully done. They certainly proved themselves in handling raw dishes, however the experience didn't stop there. We tried the saikoro steak, pasta with seabass and also tried grilled eggplant with scallop and mentai sauce. Again, all dishes were executed perfectly. Honestly every single dish was perfect. service was great too! I am very pleased with the experience and give my 5 stars without reservation

Yelp
This place was a cool addition to Port Washington but I expected more in terms of seating, ambiance, and the sushi itself.

Yelp
All 10 out of 10 rolls. There are so many good sushi places in Port Washington but this one is the best!

Yelp
Visited this place on tuesday night with family. First time here and I'm not a sushi person, but i can tell you for sure... this place is TOP of the line type of restaurant! Mostly sushi but some hot meals as well. Starting from edamame, uni, yellow tail jalapeno, seabass over yaki soba noodle, chicken wings and saikoro steak. They were delicious!! I enjoyed the atmosphere here and the service was superb. As for price is reasonable judging for the quality they served. I dont understand why people giving this place less than 4 stars. Definitely give it a shot and fyi.. this place get packed easily.

Yelp
Everyone always says the hole in the wall places are the best ! Well they're not wrong at all. I was recommended this restaurant by a coworker. Got there about 20 min pre reservation and they were still able to accommodate us. Although small their food packed a big punch in the best way possible. I highly recommend the crispy rice, the beef, truffle and mushroom dumplings which were actually on their specials menu, and their special rolls r phenomenal!!! The Big Mac roll was probably my favorite!! But the others were just as good. I am a huge tuna lover so anything tuna is my thing. They offer a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you tiga for the great experience and food.

Yelp
Food was fresh and tasty. The roasted edamame was really good. Fish to rice ratio was perfect. Service was excellent. The space is small so get there early to get a table. Only complaint was $8 for a can of beer. Definitely will be back! Prob best sushi in the area.

Yelp
Went to Tiga for the 3rd time. The food was great, the ambiance and the service is also 2 thumbs up. They also have a good omakase with fresh and good quality of sushi. You will not go wrong with their Tuna pizza, Black pepper Tuna salad, the Scottish salmon with truffle. Will definitely be back for their special rolls.

Yelp
We came here for my husbands birthday - what a great choice! Our waitress was knowledgeable and kind. We had the spicy dumpling soup, sashimi salad (a special), scarlett begonia roll, dynamo humm and sashimi. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
I think this is the best Japanese restaurant on Long Island. I have been to Japan, ate at some of the top Japanese restaurants in the city. Our server, Jennifer was so professional, very knowledgeable and gave us excellent recommendations. I will definitely return very soon. The ambiance was ok but who cares about that? It's the food that matters.
