ATLANTA CITY GUIDE

"Tiger Mountain Vineyards prides itself on offering quality wines in an unmatched setting. There is a special beauty you experience here in the Northeast Georgia Mountains and every season has its charms. It is truly magical to visit our vineyards over the course of a growing year to experience the natural process from first buds on the vines to harvest in the vineyards. We enjoyed a glass of wine and a snack platter while staying in Clayton. The views are quite beautiful. Our wine was very good. The people were very nice. The only thing negative I will state is that in our opinion, their wine was a bit expensive. Having spent a lot of time visiting wineries throughout western New York in the Finger Lakes and Thousand Islands, we were able to buy equally delicious wines at nearly half the price. In fact, we order wine and have it shipped for free from NY at around $20/bottle.

This hidden gem is off the beaten path in a beautiful valley amongst the north Georgia mountains. The wines are top notch. The views are jaw dropping. The service is impeccable! One of my top fave winery/vineyards! This one is worth a visit!

This was our first visit to Tiger Vineyards, and we will definitely be back! The setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, nestled near Lake Rabun with stunning views of the mountains and vineyard. The live music was just right—enjoyable without being too loud. The service was truly second-mile; every staff member was warm and hospitable. On an unusually cool Memorial Day weekend, they thoughtfully brought blankets to all the ladies, which was such a nice touch. Our favorite wine was the Cabernet Franc, and we also really enjoyed the flatbread. A lovely experience all around!

Pros: outstanding and knowledgeable staff (Gracie and Mark are superb!), serene view, delicious and creative wines. Cons: condensation formed on my wine glass because I drank these superior wines too slowly. My hands got wet. Total nuisance. ;)

Google
What an amazing experience! Mark and Lenny were A++. No doubt we will be back. All the staff were pleasant to deal with. Great food. Great wine tasting. There's no point in going anywhere else if you're yet to experience this place. Customer for life!

Google
Best wine tasting I've ever experienced. The wine was delicious, the food paired really well with it, and the veiw and vibes were immaculate! Also live music and cozy blankets! Perfect time. Wish I could come here every day.

Google
We had such a fantastic time at the wine tasting! The history behind the wines was so fascinating, and the beautiful live music really added to the experience. The charcuterie board was delicious. Thank you for making it such a wonderful day!

Google
From the beautiful views, to the cozy tasting room, and the friendliness of everyone there including the owner, this has been one of the best tastings we've ever done. Such a pleasure all around. And let's not forget the wines themselves...of course we had to take home a few bottles. Will definitely stop by whenever we're in the area.

Yelp
This is seriously the best kept secret in Georgia. Wines are phenomenal, service is outstanding, and the views are unlike any other vineyard. The Red Barn is so unique, you really can't find anything like this around here. They have tons of covered seating and an upstairs loft that's great for rainy days or even events. They will soon have on site lodging, which is also unlike other vineyards around. If you're visiting North Georgia, you NEED to add this place to your list of places to see.

Yelp
I took a trip to Clayton Georgia this week with a few friends and Tiger Mountain Vineyard was our favorite stop along the way! Everything from the views, hospitality, and wines were exceptional. Nicolette and Stacy both did an amazing job at explaining each wine to us during our tasting and made sure we had a great experience. The atmosphere is really cozy with live music, sofas, and a cabin-like feel. I definitely recommend visiting TMV on your wine tour or if you're looking for something fun to do on the weekend.

Yelp
Beautiful views. Very Knowledgeable staff! Friendly. Pet friendly with a leash we loved that! Amazing award winning wine. The flat bread & the chacuteries, to die for. Enjoyed my visit!! Will be back!!

Yelp
What a fun afternoon meeting with friends over good food. The service was nice and relaxed. The wine was all made with local grapes, so not my favorite. We got the Rabun Red that paired well with the crab dip. The views are gorgeous this time of year too. Live music began right as we were leaving.

Yelp
I haven't been to a winery in a Long while and this was a great one to go to for the first time in years. Chandler, one of the wine bartenders, was great. He was very knowledgeable and gave free eat recommendations on wines. I opted for the flight, $25 per person, and well worth it. They had live music Saturday from 2-5 and made for a nice ambiance inside no matter the size of your group. Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in town and definitely try the Norton wine... delicious

Yelp
Outstanding, beautiful afternoon with my husband at the Tiger Mountain Vineyard. A beautiful vineyard with a superior staff and excellent food. We arrived shortly after they opened & warmly greeted. We requested the patio, as it is a beautiful day. Our waitress was so friendly & gave us the history of the vineyard & went through the wine list. Majority of the wine is produced on the property. I was intrigued they also prepare a picnic on request, have weekend events, in addition to the wine tasting. We decided on lunch, a small but delicious menu. We had a bottle of the Norton wine, a cup of tomato bisque soup & Brie appetizer & shared a hamburger, topped with the Apple cinnamon bread pudding. Fantastic, relaxing & lazy afternoon. We have every intention to pay future visit. There are plans to add AirB&Bs to the property.

Yelp
A cute little winery located near Clayton. They have made the barn into a cafe where people can enjoy some food and the views. My group and I came for a tasting and the tasting room was located towards the parking lot away from the views and barn. You have to walk through the gift shop to get to it. The wine tasting room could probably use some music playing in the background. It was very quiet in there and it felt like we just had to fill the void. We did the flight and every single wine in their flight was delicious. My favorite was the Viognier. I'm not a fan of Rose but their Rose is pretty good. The folks helping us out in the cellar were really kind and gave us a history lesson about the property. They also told us some personal stories since they're from Florida and that's where I grew up. The location of the property is really nice and picturesque.

Yelp
Amazing views, food, wine, and service. We shared the charcuterie board, my hubby LOVED the chicken salad sandwich, and I loved this tomato type purée that came with my warmed ciabatta.

Yelp
Each wine we tried was great. Perfect to the style. The best wine we have had in Georgia. Great seating options with a cool view of the vineyard. Everyone was super helpful and friendly as well.

Yelp
Wonderful food! Tannat NV red wine is pretty good. Crab cake was delicious and margaritas flatbread was one of the best I have had

Yelp
What an amazing discovery today! Traveling through small towns and found Tiger Mountain vineyard. This place has it all- savory wine, cool ambience and very tasty menu. Staff is super friendly and chef made some extra special recommendations that were divine. They have live music in the weekend too. Will definitely travel back here for that! Chandler even came out and asked how we enjoyed our meal! So informative and super friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyable experience while sipping some July 4th weekend spirits. Grab a cold glass of wine and enjoy some music in outside with you pup. We enjoy the Viognier and the Rose on a hot day.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
A pretty nice spot in the hills. 8 wines to choose from. Only 2 whites and 6 reds so this is a red drinkers spot! Had all of them except the sweet white and Norton. Fav was the Malbec and the fearful symmetry. Got a bottle of the last one. Heads up they are still wearing masks as of 10-8-2021 so don't forget yours. They did have some in case you do.
google avatar

Kelsey P.

Yelp
It's unfortunate that they turned us away because we wanted to come out and enjoy the view and wine with our 3 month old baby. It's a wild concept to refuse business because people bring their children. Isn't the point of an outside venue for people and children to enjoy the outside?
google avatar

Sherry W.

Yelp
We ordered a flight at the tasting room and carried it to the Red barn to sit outside. We enjoyed the live music and view of the vineyard. You can also order wine at the red barn. They are not offering tastings at this time due to Covid. You can park next to the street which is by the tasting room or pull in and go a little up a hill to park by the red barn. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
We picked this vineyard out to visit on a recent three day trip to the area. It was a Chamber of Commerce weather day for August in North Georgia, not too hot, clear blue skies with a dot here and there of puffy white clouds with the mountains and vineyard view - beautiful. We had made a reservation for a wine tasting in the "barrel room" but arrived a bit early. It was somewhat confusing with the signage as to where we should go - up to the Red Barn, or to the winery. So, up to the Red Barn, which learned was an old cow/dairy barn, renovated. This was a great setting with an impressive interior bar area and an outer seating area equally impressive. We met Luke, the wine master and sommelier, who escorted us down to the winery area and began our tasting. Luke was helpful and knowledgeable (especially since he had been at this vineyard for only 2 weeks, formerly at another vineyard in Dahlonega). He had to scoot off to a private group tasting. Although we had mentioned our reservation on arrival, it was not until a couple of taste servings that I thought something was "off" and mentioned again to Kelly, the other tasting coordinator, about it. She said we were supposed to be in the barrel room, so off we go. This was a larger space and I understand a newer addition (as within just a few days or a week since the barrels arrived). There we were treated to larger sampling of each of their five featured wines. We actually had to tell them to back off a little on the size since one of us had to drive! Imagine that ($24 per person, so we got a fair deal). So we are sitting there alone, left to our wine and Spotify music in this great setting and in walks Jabe. Jabe says he does "a little bit of everything around here", and that is because he is the General Manager but prefers the title Wine Maker. Jabe is the guy hired to revitalize Tiger Mountain Vineyards for a new owner and to really get it off the ground on new footing. He was pleasant and enjoyable to talk with about the vineyard, the plans for the future and his vision for the vineyard as an outdoor venue and destination. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and Jabe had all the time to answer our questions and discuss with us the vision and direction, even though I'm sure he was busy and didn't count on our being there. Next time we are in the area, we will come back and plan to eat as well at the Red Barn, take in some music and enjoy this North Georgia vineyard. We did like all five wines tasted and bought a bottle of the Merlot for later, when there was no driving in our future!

Yelp
Fun spot to stop in and grab a reasonably priced bottle of decent wine. Beautiful grounds for lunch, to enjoy a glass of wine, or even an event/wedding.
google avatar

Yelp
I believe Tiger Mountain Vineyards has new owners. This new and improved winery has so much to offer: a cafe (the food is delicious!), a large deck with lots of outdoor seating, and several fire pits all over looking the vineyard and mountains. So picturesque. They also have music on weekends and a great selection of wine (and a few slushies). Give this one a try, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Greg P.

Yelp
First visit since the new owners took over. Very well done. Great food ..great service and the overall atmosphere was perfect. This is a great addition to the wine scene in the northeastern corner of the state. Very classy presentation and they go out of their way to make you happy. Almost every employee will speak to you and they definitely care about their product....not as crowded as some of the touristy wineries, in other areas of North Georgia..,, it was a very pleasant experience.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of attending the Mother's Day Brunch 2023. The food was excellent, staff courteous and attentive, had transportation to and from parking area. Enjoyed visiting with old friends while making new ones. This winery has great wines, along with knowledgeable instructor who teaches the best method to enhance our wine tasting experiences. We definitely recommend Tiger Mt. Winery for fun, fellowship and food & wine. They do have drinks for for underage or anyone unable to have alcoholic beverages. Elizabeth Wood Smithville TN

Yelp
Outstanding Mother's Day brunch Service was second to none. Very friendly staff, great food, beautiful scenery and of course excellent wine

Yelp
I went by on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The food was excellent. The weight staff was very kind and the view was unbelievable! I had one of their rosé, and it tasted very much like the rosé I had in France highly recommend!

Yelp
Awesome chill atmosphere! Huge field out back to let the kids run around and leave you in peace! Great place!

Yelp
Pretty outdoor scenery from restaurant but tasting room is cold and uninviting, and Wines are not good. :(

Yelp
This was a great stop on our road trip! We stopped into the tasting room and were pleasantly surprised by the wines and the super friendly and funny staff. The tasting included, I believe, 7 tastings and delicious cheeses, crackers, and dried fruit for $12. I'm kind of particular about wine. I normally prefer dry, bold reds. That being said, their whites were actually really good! Their reds were alright, but not really my thing. I think they maybe needed more time to age. Most of them had a bitter after taste and were a but to light to begin with, for me. They had a viognier and petit manseng (whites) that I particularly enjoyed. The staff knew the wine and grapes really well and had funny little stories to tell us. The tasting room was fairly full, but we didn't wait much time at all in between samples. I went home with a rosé, which was one of the best I've had. After our tastings, we each bought a glass of our favorite and walked around the property. There are benches and chairs to just sit and relax and enjoy the view. I would come back again the next time we are in town.

Yelp
Very good wine and very good venue. The Malbec was excellent!!! We highly recommend this business

John W.

Yelp
The Christmas Eve Brunch was disappointing. Obviously they were extremely short-staffed; we were there for 3 hours! A half hour before drink orders were taken and later, 25 minutes to get the check. The Red Barn was surprisingly sparsely populated while we were there. The mimosas and the food, were tasty but portions, particularly the frittatas, were ridiculously small. Those of you we interacted with were very nice but all seemed overwhelmed. We imbibed a couple of bottles of the excellent VC Vitello Pinot Grigio to pass the time. We are hoping they get fully staffed, polish up their service and are successful

Richard C.

Yelp
Very crowded with only cafe open. Only one person working and after a 39+ minute wait for tasting, many wines not available as advertised on website. Wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
The wine and food were just incredible! The location is absolutely beautiful, the wine was delicious, and the food was great. Definitely get the chicken and Gouda sandwich. could not recommend it more!

Eden K.

Yelp
Gorgeous day, gorgeous setting, delish Rose'! Can't wait to come back.

Dan M.

Yelp
Did the tasting with charcuterie board, all five wines were top notch, and the board had a great selection of cheeses and meats. After the tasting we wandered up the the red barn for some live music. Great place to spend a afternoon!!

Robert K.

Yelp
New owners have it going on! Great ambiance and service! A good burger while on the patio and listening to live music! Tough to beat!

Cara N.

Yelp
We enjoyed taking our wine tasting up to the red barn. The wines are dry and flavorful. The staff is great! We enjoyed sipping as we overlooked Tiger Mountain and the vineyards. Norton was my favorite red and my husband enjoyed he champagne style white wine. Be sure to get a cheese basket to accompany your Experience.

Anna H.

Yelp
Thank you Tiger Mountain Vineyards for such a fun experience!! It was beautiful here and the staff was so kind and knowledgeable about the history and wine making process! Special shoutout to Mike and Kelly for a great wine tasting and ride around the property!

Yelp
Great winery In the northeast Georgia mountains - and once you visit, you'll understand their label! Getting to Tiger Mountain Vineyards is simple - head toward Clayton and then take the Tiger connector over to that community and follow the signs for for vineyard. Parking is available across the street. They're putting the health and safety of their staff and customers first with several new protocols during this pandemic: - limiting the number of guests in the tasting room - masks are mandatory in the tasting room - providing a three pour taste with handy carriers - sanitizing regularly - providing hand sanitizer at the door - enforcing social distancing Tiger has tables set up in the Barrel Room and some outdoor seating, all of which are at least 6 feet apart. Once you've selected your tastings, you take your carrier to a table, sit and enjoy! The staff we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. My palate doesn't appreciate Georgia red wines (something about the terroir here - maybe the clay??) so I gravitate to Georgia white wines for tastings. If you do to, I highly recommend their Petit Manseng. Excellent balance that makes it a great wine to sip OR to pair with food. In addition to the tasting room, they operate a special events facility (great views of Tiger Mountain!) and a restaurant (open seasonally only - it was closed for the winter). Based on the quality of the wines, value for the money, and the experience with the staff, I give Tiger high marks all around and recommend it for anyone on a Georgia wine tour.
google avatar

Whitney D.

Yelp
Amazing wine, hospitality & views! I am a red wine lover and it's hard to find amazing red wine in Georgia! Well, they did it! Can't wait to be back!!!
google avatar

Lourdes A.

Yelp
We are faithful to this Southern vineyard. It's just the best one out here and when you sip their wines, it tastes of the area. What am I talking about? Just buy some Rabun Red and sit out in the porch and smell, feel, see and taste Rabun.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Great place for lunch and a fantastic view of Tiger Mountain! Had the Tarragon Chicken croissant with a spring salad side. Sandwich was delicious, albeit small. We also had the grilled farm burger, which had pimento cheese and bacon and a side of herb fries - also quite good! Never been a fan of their wines, but the lunch and view is a great experience! Service was excellent!

Renee S.

Yelp
Good wine and the live music is amazing. Great for a place to go by yourself if with friends.
google avatar

Marion C.

Yelp
We had a great day at Tiger Mountain Vineyards. The tasting room showcased all of their awards and had a great display of wine barrels and wine. They served us our wine and we took it out to the barn and sat beneath the trees and enjoyed the view.

Ralph E.

Yelp
EVERYTHING was awesome! We initially arrived for a wine tasting. That turned into an incredible lunch at the red barn with live music before the tasting. The tasting went great after the lunch. We left with a few bottles to remember the experience until we return in October. A shout out to Ms. Shirley who directed us in all the right directions. Nick A

Sandra H.

Yelp
The atmosphere and scenery was incredible. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend the wine tasting fire relaxing evening.

Yelp
What a beautiful day and beautiful experience! Tiger Mountain Vineyards is The Best! Hands down! Wine is delicious! Food is amazing! And service is a 10!!

Yelp
This place rocks. My family found it randomly on a family mountain trip and it was the best part of our vacation. Great views and great wine! I was skeptical about really enjoying any Georgia vineyards but I was impressed. Wish I had bought a bottle to bring home.

Grace B.

Yelp
We loved our experience at tiger mountain!! Got a delicious tasting from Kelly and a tour from Mike! So fun!!

Chelsea A.

Yelp
*Stunning*!! An absolutely beautiful vineyard nestled in the heart of the North Georgia. Easiest wines we've ever had the pleasure of enjoying -- here they celebrate grapes. No headaches or bitterness or tannins to distract from the pure grape flavor. We just recently returned from a wine tour of the California vineyards, and we cannot imagine why we'd ever leave home again to enjoy wine. A must visit.

Mary T.

Yelp
If you want a great wine tasting experience with a personal touch this is the place! We had a great time, so very welcoming! And we can't leave out "Hamilton"! The wines were SO delicious that We purchased several bottles.

Emma D.

Yelp
The best!!!! The employees were so sweet and attentive! Everyone was very knowledgable about the history and it was very interesting to learn about! Mike and Kelly were so wonderful and helpful!

Mary Catherine C.

Yelp
Mike and John are great and so friendly! Wine was delicious, and the live music on Friday was so fun!!
