Where to Eat the Spiciest Dishes in Houston - Eater Houston

"Sichuan food is incendiary by default, but for those looking for more than the Chengdu-style fish dishes that both burn and numb the tongue, there is the “Tame the Tiger” challenge at this Rice Village restaurant. Even the most experienced stunt eaters have been felled by this chile-packed noodle soup." - Alice Levitt

Being Gluten Free there are not typically a lot of Asian food choices for me. Tiger Noodle House has an AMAZING General TSO chicken that I have enjoyed several times! My husband typically gets the Orange Beef, which is also Gluten Free! Recently we tried their pineapple fried rice- it’s the ONLY rice they have that’s Gluten Free! It’s hands down one of the best fried rices I’ve had. The flavor is very unique and it’s now a must had side order for us. The service has always been great and the plates come out piled up high with hot food!

I don't know if the chef has changed recently or if the comment area is old. The green beans I ate tasted unsalted and a little raw. In terms of color, they are all raw. Not to mention that I have so much left. For another hot pot dish, I only tasted the greasy flavor. The other dishes are very good~

My first visit was a mixed bag, but I'm definitely intrigued to return. The chicken pot stickers were fantastic – perfectly cooked and flavorful. However, the spicy lamb with cumin was a bit of a letdown. While the spice was there, the lamb itself was tough and could have used more tenderness and overall flavor. On the bright side, the ambiance is charming, the service was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu.

Google
Definitely a wonderful culinary experience! At Tiger Noodle House, the food was delicious from the very first bite. The customer service was exceptional, with super fast service that made our visit even more enjoyable. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, making this place an ideal option to enjoy a good meal without overspending. The taste and seasoning of the dishes are simply irresistible. You definitely won't regret visiting this restaurant. Highly recommended!

As a Chinese student studying abroad, I have never had such bad Chinese food. Their braised pork has a strange smell of mutton, and although they tried to cover it up with a lot of pepper, it was still obvious. Besides, their iced tea also has a strange taste, probably due to the quality of the tea leaves. The dishes are very salty and not real Chinese food at all.

Nothing like a hurricane knocking out my power = no way to cook = me finding this yummy chinese food place in rice village. I really love that this place is open so late and accommodating. We tried a few dishes from the menu, all really reasonably priced, and they had great flavor. I feel like this restaurant is a perfect blend of authenticity and modernization. Will definitely come back to try more noodles dishes and to get the yummy Szechuan chicken again!

Google
Great spot. Really good food for the price (and amount). Ordered based off of what I saw recommended most on reviews. Enjoyed the spicy wontons and the green bean dish (was huge!! And came with a side of rice). Both were excellent and would get again. The hot tea was also very good (loose leaf)

Google
Wow pleasantly surprised, ordered tiger fried rice, dongpo pork, and dry beef noodles, only took about 15 mins for the food to come out all at once and the fried rice was perfectly seasoned, not greedy with proteins. The dongpo was pretty good a bit underwhelming but good nonetheless, and the noodles were good as well, definitely would come back it's worth the trip.

Yelp
Review for 7/26/24: Visited Houston for the week and came across Tiger Noodle House as one of the best Taiwanese restaurants to eat. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The highlight of our visit was the food. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece in its own right. -Spicy Beef Noodle Soup: The broth is rich and flavorful, with the perfect amount of spice that warms you up from the inside. The beef is tender and the noodles are cooked to perfection. It's a hearty, satisfying bowl that I can't stop thinking about. Keep in mind, they put ghost peppers in this soup. Not spicy for me but definitely for most. -Steamed Fish in Ginger and Scallion Sauce: The fish was delicate and perfectly steamed, infused with ginger and scallion. The sauce did not overpower the fish. I would come back for this dish alone! (My favorite dish, highly recommend) -Eggplant in Garlic Sauce: The eggplant was cooked to a silky perfection and coated in a delicious sweet and savory garlic sauce. The flavors were well-balanced, making it one of the best eggplant dishes I've ever had. -Green Beans: The green beans were crisp and fresh, sautéed with garlic and minced pork, just the right amount of seasoning. They were a perfect side, providing a nice crunch and a burst of flavor. Everything was 10/10, but don't take my words for it. Stop by, give them a try. You'll love it like we did!

Yelp
I came here with some friends on a weekday and we were able to get a table promptly. We tried the Shrimp Shumai, Pork Potstickers and Tiger Beef Wraps. The best were the Beef Wraps; the Shumai and Potstickers were just okay. For my entrée, I should have gotten noodles given the name of the restaurant but I decided on the Pineapple Fried Rice and I was not impressed. Service was okay and there was free parking.

Yelp
I went to Tiger Noodle House for lunch and was sat down immediately. I ordered a spicy chicken and rice dish with a side of broccoli. The dish was pretty good although on the salty side. I wish the broccoli would have had some seasoning to it. The server was polite. One thing that did feel odd was the distance of the table from the booth seat. I couldn't relax on the backside of the booth seat while eating and had to scoot forward to have enough reach to eat the meal.

Yelp
There was a period of time where authentic Chinese restaurants weren't a thing in this part of Houston, but in the last 5 years an explosion of Sichuan based cuisine has found itself in all corners of the city and well beyond the loop. Tiger Noodle House has brought the heat (#1) to Rice Village and establishing a semi-legit option to the growing demand of Chinese cuisine in the loop. It feels like a huge gamble to set up shop in a place as granola and as commercialized as Rice Village, but it seems like it's paid off. They're open late and have a solid mix of authentic and Americanized dishes to appeal to most palates in the area. Considering the competition and growing Chinese contingent in the surrounding neighborhoods, it'd be safe to assume Tiger Noodle House is primed to handle it all. Overall the food has been consistent and abundant. The majority of the menu is Sichuan based but with some additional regional dishes outside of the cuisine. Their dan dan noodles have a nice kick to the oil and I was very pleased with their yuxiang eggplant as well as the cumin lamb. The winning ones were the shui zhu yu. (poached fish in hot oil) and chongqing style fried chicken. There have been some minor price increases since the pandemic, but foodflation is still minimal here. Service is good for the most part and the staff is young and hard working. Beware of the parking and be mindful of the traffic. ___________ (#1) Literally and figuratively.

Yelp
Great Szechuan Chinese food inside the loop. Casual atmosphere at reasonable prices. The kids love the soup dumplings. The Dongpo pork is our other favorite. Service is friendly and attentive. Food comes out quickly. Parking can get tricky if there aren't spots in front.

Yelp
My family had dinner here last night. The decor is very casual. The service was good. The food overall was just okay. I'm guessing the ratings are pretty high because the serving sizes are generous and prices are relatively inexpensive. We had: Hot and Sour Soup (4/5) - Probably the best dish of the night. Traditional and good flavors. Xiao Ling Bao (3.5/5) - Pretty good flavors. Skin is a bit thick (and doughy). Doesn't taste "freshly" made. Dan Dan Noodles (3.5/5) - Okay flavor, just kind of muddled without the "sharpness" of flavors of better variations. Orange Chicken (2.5/5) - Had us wishing for a certain "fast food" restaurant version of this dish! Overall, a 3.5/5 but doubt we would ever go back.

Yelp
Noodles were freakin bomb. Got the beef stir fry noodles and a side order of bok choy. Definitely big enough to share! Restaurant is really cute inside and has a cool vibe. Will be back!

Yelp
The location in Rice Village nicely updated, I've visited the Galleria location which could do with some ambiance but that aside food is amazing. Start with the spicy wontons and ended with the garlic chicken- all good

Yelp
I like the flavor of the food from this restaurant. This time I tried the beef wrap and Lamb noodle. I was not expecting the lamb dish to be a soup when I ordered it because I ordered from the noodle section on Uber Eats. However, it was a pleasant mistake. I enjoyed the flavor and spiciness of the soup. It came deconstructed (noodles and broth separated). It was a good portion size as well. I ate from it twice. The beef wrap was delicious too and came out nice reheated in the air fryer. I would say it was not wrapped tight, so the filling was falling out a bit. Tiger Fried noodle dish is a staple! Never can go wrong with that dish. Good flavor with big portions and good protein to noodle ratio.

Yelp
After we landed Hobby last night we decided to go to Tiger noodles for a nice warm Chinese meal to take a break from Texas bbqs. We went around 8:20pm before they closed for 9pm. We were seated and ordered right away since we've eaten there before. I'm so glad to see the service and quality of food was very good after 3yrs I've been back in Houston. WHAT WE ORDERED Spicy wontons Szechuan hot pepper fish Egg rolls Dan Dan noodles Stir fry green beans Everything was very filling and we're very satisfied with our first dinner in Houston. Service was excellent, server was very attentive and checked on us a few times. Highly recommend if you're in the rice village area!

Yelp
Love coming here for a quick meal! The chicken dumplings are always great. Our server actually recommended the spicy chicken and it was so good! Would definitely get again. I think the food here is really good and consistent and just great easy Chinese food. Everyone working is always so nice and they always give good recommendations if you need it! It's usually always full but never a wait when I've come. It's very casual and a great place to go w some friends.

Sawyer S.

Yelp
Delicious food with perfect portions! Tried the pork potstickers in-house as a litmus test and they did not disappoint. For the to-go, I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with rice noodles for myself and Mongolian Chicken for my fiancée. I also asked for a veteran discount which was a whopping 20% off! When I got home and we dug in, my fiancée and I were pleasantly surprised at how balanced all the flavors were and how much meat you get with each order! This is our new go-to Chinese place!

Yelp
We've been here several times and it never disappoints! It's been the only cooking as close to my parents when they had their restaurant in Clear Lake! We had just eaten here a few days ago before heading to the hospital. So, today we picked up dinner on the way to Methodist to take dinner to my parents. It's so conveniently located near the hospital that it made the Chinese food fix super easy! Tiger Noodle House has always been consistent on their quality of food. We always order hot & sour soup. It's just the right sour and spice. A few favorites in the picture were all delicious as usual! I told them we're headed to the hospital and needed utensils and plates. They were so accommodating and made sure we had everything from bowls to chopsticks! The best Chinese place around here! We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Eggplant dish is the best that I have had in a while. The spice level is mild-moderate for me, but for my spouse, it barely registers. Skip the dan dan noodles. Friendly service. Casual ambience.

Yelp
I ordered my favorite here tonight being the Chicken Fried Rice with extra chicken. It was very flavorful and really delicious in every bite. It was very well-seasoned to the perfect amount. The rice was very soft and fresh and could even taste the rice itself. The green onions, peas, chicken, etc were all so good in this meal bringing it all together. The chicken pieces were all very tender and marinated. Imo, T N H makes the best Chinese Fried Rice of all places. Love both the chicken and pineapple-shrimp versions of it. Great, friendly service again on this visit.

Yelp
A very good place to come with friends! There are so many options and the food comes out very fast, and is pretty tasty. It is usually busy, but there are a lot of seating options. I got the chicken pad thai and loved it! They gave me such a big serving that I ate it for two more meals after the dinner. We also ordered the edamame and egg rolls, which were great as well.

B J.

Yelp
Good variety of Sechwan food. Very tasty dishes. The noodles were spicy delicious. Same for the beef dishes.
google avatar

Winchelle R.

Yelp
The food is fairly reasonably priced, coming from Cali of course. The portions look small and is described small but it's decent. The service was ok, could have been better considering there weren't many people when we got there.
google avatar

Yelp
LOVE the eggplant and mapo tofu and sesame noodles! Great service! Good for takeout or dine in! I think their chicken dishes could be improved

Yelp
My picture isn't the greatest because I was SO EXCITED to eat at this restaurant. It was such incredible food that I'm still dreaming about the meal. I'm from out of town and did a lot of research because of a gluten allergy. The menu is marked GF, the server double checked and checked in on my throughout the meal and everything was delicious. I went with my parents and it was a wonderful casual to share together. We ordered family style and everyone was very happy with every dish in this picture. Not pictured is a beef roll which was pictured in pastry but served in a tortilla. Skip that one for sure, but definitely get the chicken, cabbage and tofu. INCREDIBLE.
google avatar

Madelina N.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I come here at least every other week as it has become one of our go to places for an affordable yet tasty meal. We always get the spicy poached fish along with one of their fried rice dishes, and always have a little extra leftover, but pretty decent for a $25-30 date night. I used to not care for the Szechuan spice that would linger on your tongue, but the spicy poached fish is just the right amount of spice that's not too overbearing. Services always super fast here and the waiters are always very attentive. We love tiger noodle house and will keep coming back time and time again!
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is delicious. The pork belly was very tender and juicy. The green beans were a huge portion and crispy and flavorful. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was rich in flavor. The beef wrap was ok. Service was very attentive.

Er B.

Yelp
The food was great! I had the vegetarian stir fried noodle. Very filling food, and I still had plenty to take home with me! The honeydew melon boba tea was great as well--a large amount and a good price for the amount. I was expecting a moderate wait time for the food since my table ordered three meals, but everything was out in 5-10 minutes. The staff were attentive and kind. They checked in often and were prompt in fulfilling requests for drink refills, to-go boxes, et cetera. A shoutout and thank you in particular to Lincoln for waiting on my table! The booth was comfortable and the lighting was particularly nice (comfortably dim, but not dark). I look forward to coming back and trying more of their vegetarian options!

Yelp
I was excited to try this spot as it's been on my list for a while but... it was just okay. The best dish was probably the Xiao Long Bao. The Beef & Broccoli was decent, although it didn't quite look as seasoned as in the picture (was lighter in color). It did feel like it was missing something flavor-wise, but I couldn't place it exactly. I will say that the broccoli was nice and crispy though. The garlic eggplant was pretty good but not as flavorful as other versions that I've had. The part that I disliked the most? We upgraded one of our side rices to a "fried" rice. We received rice that was clumpy and had spots of white (as if it was just haphazardly sprayed with soy sauce or something). It didn't actually seem fried. I'd recommend the dumplings but that's about it.

Yelp
One of my favorite cuisines is Szechuan style cooking, so I was more than happy to meet up some friends at the OG Tiger Noodle House. Located in Rice Village, parking can be tricky depending on what time you go. We came late evening so parking was not an issue at all. At first glance the restaurant looks narrow but there is plenty of seating inside. We were seated right away and had great customer service throughout with the exception of it being slightly slow. One thing I scoped out before getting there were the Tiger Beef Wraps. We took our first bites and were blown away by this dish. It was very well seasoned, thinly sliced beef, inside a flaky, scallion pancake. The addition of cilantro and green onion made for a perfect bite. Next time I'm getting my own order. We also shared Spicy Wontons. Good dish. I had some wonderful Dan Dan Noodles in Chinatown in San Francisco and am always on the hunt for something similar. I ordered them here and they did not disappoint. The minced pork, green onions and spicy sauce with the fresh noodles was delicious. It had a nice, spicy heat that snuck up on me, but not overpowering. I tried bites of my friend's dishes as well and everything I tried was good too. Tiger Noodle House has five locations around town, so there really isn't an excuse not to try it. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great option for late night Chinese if you're in the Rice Village area. (Open till midnight in most days). Bold, authentic flavors in their cumin dish, and has a variety of menu options from the classic Sichuan to the American Chinese Orange/Sesame chicken and General Tso's. (My friend tried out the Orange Chicken for kicks). I liked each dish has a picture on the menu. Everything came out fast, good flavors in their beef soups as well, although something did sit well with my stomach afterwards. I liked the spacious interior and we had almost the entire restaurant to ourselves on a late weekday evening. Parking during the day can be busy since it's rice village but there's garage and street parking in the area. Would definitely come back to try some of their other more authentic dishes like seafood or xiaolongbao.

Yelp
I'm slipping them a 5 star, quiet as a TIGER NOODLE MOUSE And I keep my cats flea-free, killing every TIGER NOODLE LOUSE And I keep my Barbi satisfied, cause she's my TIGER NOODLE SPOUSE And if you want the best Chinese food, TIGER NOODLE HOUSE! When Barbi wears an LSU crop top, I call it TIGER NOODLE BLOUSE When she douses me in Barbi sauce, I love that TIGER NOODLE DOUSE When we go to Liverpool, we're feeling TIGER NOODLE SCOUSE And when we go to Rice Village, we eat at TIGER NOODLE HOUSE! WHAT What a wonderful thing. Most of the Chinese places that we eat at outside Chinatown just don't have anything going for them. They're not authentic and they're not very tasty and they just don't get it done for us. This is a massive exception. It's utterly delicious! So... If your tattoo looks like a Doodle And your Pitbull looks like a Poodle And your eyes are baggy And your balls are saggy Get some Szechuan food from Tiger Noodle! Sure, like a lot of hipster places, it does add a little bit too much sugar to the dishes, but it makes a lot of really authentic and amazing Chinese dishes, the kind that we didn't expect to find in Rice Village, or anywhere outside Chinatown. We were amazed. Some of the service can be really nice too. So it was really amazing to find such a place, we've had a lot of the dishes and they were spectacular. A little sugary and sweet, but nevertheless amazing. And there once was a Noodle House named Tiger And Barbi wanted their food inside her Their food got her coughing But she came very often Much the same as she does when I ride her wait what. Wait I meant something else. Anyway. We will most definitely be coming back here again, and it's open late as well. Prices are a little high, but no higher than the equivalents in Chinatown, and now that we know it's a chain, we will probably try all of the other locations too. Brilliant from them... easily the best food in Rice Village and probably the best Chinese food of any kind inside 610 in Houston. They don't serve Oreo or Snickerdoodle They don't serve snail or cat or poodle And poodle doesn't rhyme with Don Cheadle But you must come and try Tiger Noodle! WHAT

Yelp
This place was freakingggg delicious. I ordered the spicy wontons and the authentic Szechwan beef noodle dish. Absolutely incredible. And I ordered it for delivery too, which makes it even more impressive. The flavor profile of both dishes was so so good. Portions were excellent too. I'm a big pho guy and there's some really good Vietnamese spots by my place, but I think im gonna need to start supplementing my pho diet with a ton of orders from this place. If you're anywhere in the area, I highly recommend.

Yelp
Situated in the center of Rice Village food scene, I was surprised to find this Chinese food spot full of flair! Typically, space is a hot commodity in the high end quarters of Rice Village, but the seating inside Tiger Noodle House was nicely planned to maximize use of the space available without making customers feel squeezed. From entering the door, I felt good amount of attention and care for getting seated, receiving tea, placing our orders, placement of our food, etc. Since my friend and I both had a low spice tolerance, we went relatively safe on our food selection with Xiao long bao, mongolian chicken, and dan dan noodles. Bowls of rice were complimentary for this meal, which I appreciated; however, the quality of the rice...let's just say I would've rather paid if I could get better cooked rice. The texture of the rice was way too mushy, and a disappointment for a place labeled with "authentic" Chinese food. The xiaolongbao also has some room for improvement, particularly the dryness of the meat and the easily torn outer shells. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the dan dan noodles and the jasmine tea paired with honey. I was impressed with the use of real tea leaves and the proper tea set, which was enough to bump the three star food to an overall four star experience. One day when I work my stomach up to higher spice tolerance, would definitely love to try some of their other specialties and see if that changes my perception of their food. BUT, I'd urge the restaurant to please work on the rice cooking in the meantime (maybe watch an Uncle Roger video or two) so that I have a fallback to save my tongue in the case of a continued spice intolerance.
google avatar

Yelp
Sorry to disappoint, but Tiger Noodle House is just frankly alright. Nothing terrible, but nothing amazing if you're looking for authentic good Chinese food (I feel like this is a consensus with most Chinese people). If you're Chinese visiting Houston for the first time, I'd recommend going to Chinatown or Hu's Cooking instead. The target audience for Tiger Noodle is more for college students in my opinion, if you're just looking for something convenient or open late night near Rice. I really recommend the Dan Dan noodles, szechuan spicy chicken, and shredded pork in beijing bean sauce. I also like the xiao long bao, but it tastes the same as the frozen ones from H-Mart tbh (still hits the spot!). Other than that, stay away from the boba LOL. There's also a 5% discount I believe if you pay with cash or have a Rice student ID.

Park D.

Yelp
Food was not that great. Decent portions though, but service was mid had to keep flagging down waiters.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Came hungry and TNH didn't let me down. Tasted the spicy wantons and they were great, not too hot. For my meal, I polished off the Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup. I was warned that it is the hottest thing on the menu, and all the employees seemed worried about me. It was excellent. Definitely spicy, but not too spicy and had excellent flavor. The booth was large, but they only had one booster seat, and there's too much space between the benches and table for a kids though. I thought the service was good, not overly attentive, but plenty of people available and willing to serve when needed. I'd go back at a drop of the hat and might order the same thing.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Went with my boyfriend and the only thing hotter than our chemistry was the beef hot pot ! So flavorful and hit all the right spots. Quaint dining room that was complimented by the delightful staff. Five out five if you want something steamy!
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Came for the XLB and was pretty disappointed to find how small they were. While they had good flavor and were stuffed but didn't have much soup in them. They reminded me of the frozen XLB from Trader Joe's. We also go the Tiger House fried rice and the chicken and beef spicy and numbing pot. Both dishes were delicious and very filling! Service is absolutely wonderful! I'll be getting my XLB elsewhere but I'll be back for more tasty eats.

Yelp
My friend and I came here to eat because I wanted to try something new and it had been a while since I've had chinese food. She recommended me this place to try since she had liked the first time that she came to eat at Tiger Noodle House as well. We were seated in the back of the restaurant in a small booth fit for 2 people. It wasn't too bad but not much space to keep my purse other than in my lap. Looking over the menu, there was alot to pick from which caught my eye. For appetizers, we ordered spicy wontons and the soup dumplings. For entrees we ordered a tofu and shrimp dish, dan dan noodles, and Cummin Lamb (my friend ordered). The dumplings weren't very good, there was no soup in them so it was basically like a wonton. The spicy wontons were alright as well, the chili sauce they were in weren't spicy. Our favorite dish was the tofu and shrimp dish and the dan dan noodles. I'm generally not a fan of the cummin flavor but we had alot left over so I took that home and the next day the dish wasn't as bad as I thought but the cummin flavor definitely was stronger so I had to have it with rice. I would probably come back to try another dish for dinner again instead of the ones we got to try the other dishes I was interested in. Service overall was decent but they didn't come check on us and didn't refill my water cup after it was empty.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food options with huge selection of dishes. The servings are very large and a family style approach is recommended. Service has always been friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is chill and laid back. Unfortunately they don't serve sake or beer, but they do have hot teas and sodas. Really solid option for Chinese food.
google avatar

Shirin L.

Yelp
This was my third time being here..the food is pretty good. The service is very fast. We came here during lunch hour and within 5 mins of ordering our food was already on the table, it was hot and tasted fresh lol The restaurant is a decent size place and always clean. The servers there can do a better job of putting a smile on their face, but overall it's not bad at all.
google avatar

Charles L.

Yelp
Great food and good size portions. Veggie dumpling, sesame chicken, chicken soup, beef and broccoli were my favorite dishes. All very good, however. Appropriately seasoned and served hot. Good value and prompt service. Small place but didn't wait long for a table.
google avatar

Keith S.

Yelp
Peeps. I went for a grab and go. The inside looks cool for a sit down dinner. But the food was basic to me. And they broke the cardinal rule of take out. They gave me a closed bag, offered no sauce, and when I got home, I realized they didn't put any in the bag. I'll blame it on the late shift but that's a big No in the biz. So that's that. Prices are $$. But it is Rice Village so...
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
Quick and good service! Love their Ginger Fish, Dan Dan noodles and Xiaolongbao. Casual, comfortable, mid-toned asthetic. The only thing that will forever be horrible (as with most Rice Village locations) is the parking.

Yelp
I recently dined at Tiger Noodle House, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From start to finish, this restaurant delivered delicious dishes that left me and my lady thoroughly satisfied. I started with the dumplings, and they were a delightful appetizer. The dumplings were perfectly steamed and filled with flavorful ingredients that burst with every bite. For my main course, I opted for the SZECHUAN SPICY CHICKEN, and it was a spicy sensation. The chicken was tender, and the Szechuan sauce had just the right level of heat and complexity to keep my taste buds excited throughout the meal. My lady ordered the crispy shrimp rolls, which were a crispy and flavorful treat. They were a delightful contrast to the spicy dishes, offering a different texture and taste that we both enjoyed. She also ordered the SPICY POACHED SLICED FISH/WITH TOFU, and it was a standout dish. The fish was perfectly poached, and the combination of spicy flavors with the tofu created a harmonious balance that made every bite a pleasure. What truly impressed us about Tiger Noodle House was not only the quality of the food but also the generous portions. We left feeling fully satisfied and even took some leftovers home for a delicious encore. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was comfortable, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place with great portions of delectable Chinese cuisine, Tiger Noodle House is definitely worth a visit. We can't wait to return for another memorable meal!

Yelp
I first came here for lunch in July 2023, and subsequently have returned probably 4x since then. The service is FAST and the food is always consistently good. No complaints on my end-- love their tiger beef wrap, eggplant dish, mapo tofu, green beans, and oh! the pork with bean curd that you scoop up with buns. You really can't go wrong with anything here in my opinion. Very family friendly and the pricing is reasonable for Rice Village. The only thing that can be annoying is the parking!

Yelp
Needed to grab an early dinner before the madness of Taylor Swift so we decided on checking out Tiger Noodle House. I am so glad we decided to come here! From start to finish, the meal was filled with bold flavors, authentic dishes, and a touch of culinary finesse. One noteworthy aspect of our dining experience was the timing of the dishes. While they arrived all at once, it actually worked in our favor, as we were able to enjoy a wide array of dishes and flavors simultaneously. We were also in kind of a rush and it made for an exciting and diverse meal. The best part was that we had plenty of leftovers to take home after the Taylor Swift concert! In terms of value for money, Tiger Noodle House exceeded expectations. The portion sizes were more than generous, and the quality of the food was exceptional, especially considering the reasonable prices. I definitely got my bang for my buck and would return if/when I come back to Houston.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting! I ordered this through Lunch drop the chicken General TSO was absolutely disgusting, way over cooked chicken! The dumplings were not good either! The pricing is ridiculous for something I have to throw away! This was supposed to be my lunch for today and tomorrow! So disappointed!

Yelp
Ah, Tiger Noodle House in Rice Village. You know, after a day at the Japanese festival in Hermann Park, this place really hits the spot. After the festival, my buddy and I had a few drinks at Little Woodrows, but soon enough, we were craving some delicious food. I couldn't resist recommending this gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming with warmly lit leather booths, perfect for a relaxed meal. We kicked things off with a round of Asahi, which was served quickly by our waitress. Though she was efficient, she seemed a bit off, like she'd just received some bad news. We decided to order three dishes, starting with the Tiger Beef Wrap. The sliced beef, green onion, cilantro, and homemade sauce were a good combination, but unfortunately, the beef was a bit on the dry side. Next up were the Xiaolongbao, steamed round dumplings filled with pork and chicken. They were tasty and well-executed, but the real star of the show was the Tiger Noodles. We tried them with beef, roast pork, chicken, seafood, and a vegetarian option. The combination of amazing sauce and unique spices had us both exclaiming, "Now that's good!" several times throughout the meal. In conclusion, Tiger Noodle House is a fantastic spot to share an incredible meal with friends. The unique dishes offer an experience you'll want to share with others. Although our service was a bit lackluster, the food more than made up for it. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was in Houston for work and exhausted from traveling so I used a food delivery service to have my order delivered to my hotel room. The order was packaged well with all the necessities. I got the Dan Dan Noodles and Beef Wrap. For starters, the beef wrap was so amazing. It's thinly sliced beef with cilantro and scallions. It tasted like beef pho in a wrap - so homey and comforting! The Dan Dan Noodles were also very delicious and although some reviews say it's pretty spicy, I found it to be perfectly spicy (runny nose, but not over the top spicy). The noodles were a little too greasy for me, but I just drained some of the grease out and enjoyed them!

Yelp
Won't be returning and we were regular customers for years. Went in tonight for dinner and the fact this restaurant expects you to eat your dinner in appetizer size plates is ridiculous. I asked for a bigger plate to serve our food in and eat out of and was denied. I asked for a reason and was told the manager doesn't not allow them to bring out other plates as they don't have many and don't want to run out of them. Makes zero sense. The fact that there is a rule in place means other customers have asked for this before. There were only about three other parties in the entire restaurant so not sure how they could run out of plates if the spared ONE. Either way terrible service!
