Every time I’m in Clemson, Tiger Town Tavern is my go-to. The staff is incredible — always friendly, attentive, and keeping things safe and fun. You can feel the love and effort the management and owners put into this place. It’s more than a bar — it’s a Clemson staple where everyone feels like family. Can’t wait to come back!

My trivia group got absolutely screwed out of CMF tickets last night because people who run trivia must have misplaced our response to a question we answered 100% correct. Obviously we know ball and know that Dartmouth is called the “Big Green.” We were absolutely devastated when we were told that that was the question we got wrong, leaving us 1 point away from tying for second place. After pleading with the trivia people we were told there was “nothing they could do” even though they were in the wrong. Two and a half hours of hard work and dedication down the drain last night, on top of all the reading of books that was done before hand in preparation. We were playing with our friend Dan who is mentally disabled and he cried the entire way home because he thought he let us down since he was the one who came up with that answer.

We chose to eat on our daughter's summer camp week. We came for the wings. All-in-all this was just an OK place. We ordered the lemon pepper wings, traditional plain rub wings, the Cobb salad, mozzarella sticks and the shrimp platter. Total was $57ish. The wings were fried hard..no season except for thr dry rub...ugh. mozzarella stock were good. Lemon pepper wings were too lemon-peppery..the cobb salad looked great, but the fried chicken was flavorless. The staff was ok. Not over the top friendly. The building and space was as expected..dark low light.. I didn't like that the staff served without gloves and brought straws out unwrapped in there hands.... We wouldn't return again.

Google
The staff did a great job of making my daughter's 21st birthday one to remember. The pickle-tinis were tasty. We had a great time!

The walls are extraordinarily clean. Great Bar

Google
Tiger Town Tavern is an absolute gem! This iconic spot has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to hang out with friends. The drinks are always cold, the service is friendly, and the food hits the spot every time. Whether you're there to watch a game, grab a bite, or just enjoy the lively crowd, it never disappoints. The nostalgic, college-town vibe adds to the charm, making it a must-visit when you're in the area.

After the hurricane I needed to come stay with my best friend that passed always little brother we decided since we are and we’re such big Clemson fans to go to a bar in Clemson. We go in I go get a drink bartender just takes my money and don’t give me any change 10$ beer I guess I go outside my friend comes and tells me his card was declined I’m a vet and a insurance agent. But never been a thief they came and said since he popped the top the bartender we pay for the beer I said no biggie offered to pay and little dweeb of a man went and had a even smaller angry little man proceed to tell me to leave I kindly said ok as the guy said I can refuse service to anyone a bet that just had his home washed away and a Clemson fan Wow wouldn’t recommend to anyone these little punks need to be taught a lesson they even called the law over a 4 dollar beer and a declined card what cool dudes

Google
The lowest level of service imaginable. It is very unfortunate that this establishment is the main attraction in Clemson. To all of the college students, if you want to be successful in life you should avoid this place.

Yelp
I felt like I was in college again at Tiger Town! We were lucky enough to attend a Welcome Party event hosted at Tiger Town this past weekend. The drinks were CHEAP (vodka/soda $4.50) but you definitely get what you pay for because they were also WEAK. They had an awesome live band the night we were there and a huge crowd. Great college bar!

Yelp
They will deny ONLY GUYS with out of state id's when they get full. I'm 22 with a legit Michigan id and I can't tell you how many times my roomates have gotten in and I've had to go home because he thinks it's fake. It's honestly ridiculous just get scanners. If you can't afford them just say that. Btw whoever worked 8/31/24 around 12 go ahead and quit because you are honestly so bad at your job. I'm not kidding quit. All you do is take away from people's fun that moved 14 hours just to have that fun. Get sacnnees because your bouncers are not legit!!!!

Zoey H.

Yelp
Staff basically ignored us until we made a point to make ourselves known. The bartender wasn't very helpful either. The food was pretty tasteless and wasn't worth the price. The atmosphere off too, very off-putting, and the bathroom was gross

Yelp
We LOVE TTT. One of the best bars in Clem and great specialty shots. Not to mention outstanding service.

Yelp
Some friends and I were in town doing some racing in Central. We decided to grab a little bite before heading back to Atlanta. We looked up a few spots and this one seemed to be a pretty cool spot to grab a brew. Excellent location, it's right in the heart of all of the happenings. Nice bar, nice patio, food was awesome. We ended up ordering the broccoli and chicken po boy, shrimp po boy, fries, tots, and wings. All of it was really good! I was especially pleased with the wings. I really like the way they were cooked. I liked that they were cooked all the way through with some really good seasoning. The po boy's were delicious, and the sides were good too. What stood out to me the most is, that as we were at the table, a gentleman came up and inquired of our presence. He asked if we participate in the cycling races and when we told him yes, he was super excited that we were there! He said he lived in the area and saw us racing. He shared with us that the community really enjoys seeing all the cyclists come to town. He left us all with a special Tiger Town Tavern beer glass, which I will cherish forever. Super good experience. Anytime I'm in Tiger Town, you know what tavern to catch me at!! New lifetime member! The type of crowd you attract speaks volumes about the establishment and this establishment attracts a really loving crowd!

Yelp
10/10 do not recommend They care more about getting college girls drunk. They were too busy to change one of their TVs even though over a quarter of their patrons were there for that event. Basically told us to go away / find somewhere else.

Yelp
A classic. Fav bar in clemson. Perfect place to sit down and sip on a beer. Fried pickles are amazing:)

Yelp
If there's a bar that serves as the best representation of Clemson, it's definitely TTT. Good atmosphere, good pool tables, and good outdoor area. Only recommendation is to drop the trough bathroom.
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
Well, after a 30-minute wait for average food (hot dogs and burgers), it's amazing this place is still in business. Good thing the boys know how to play football, cause the service sucks. But at least they refunded our money

Yelp
If you're looking for a good tome, check this place out! They have some arcade games, a HUGE SELECTION of beers and a pretty yummy menu. New to town and looking to support local businesses during Covid-19, we stumbled upon this place and decided to go in. The happy hour prices are Phenomenal!!! $3.50 beers and discounted appetizers! Can't beat that! Hour server Harrison was super sweet and helpful. Not knowing the flavor profile of many of the beers they had on tap, he brought us samples of each beer that peaked our interest so that we could try them all before buying. The food was also very good! We had a shrimp quesadilla, shrimp tacos, a spinach and strawberry salad with chicken and the Cobb salad. Everything was excellent! OH ALSO, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE TRUFFLE FRIES! They are everything you want in a french fry. Salty, crisp and flavorful with truffle oil.

Yelp
I'm giving TTT an extra, third star out of nostalgia and fondness for the bar that almost became the venue for the ruination of my college career. I even have one of the original bar shirt's from this place from 1979. This review is for the food and service. Everyone was very polite. My visit with my wife and now sophomore son was on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It really is a very basic, no frills, college bar. Lots of big screen TV's now with the NFL games on, great place to watch the game. Bathrooms are horrible, but not much has changed there. Reasonable prices. We ordered a pitcher of beer, then went to the kitchen window to place an order there for two appetizers, fried pickles and the Cajun chicken quesadilla. So my wife drinks one beer. My son can't drink yet because he is not of age. I drink two beers anticipating the food has to come out some time. It was a ridiculously long wait, over 40 minutes to get the food and that is from the time I decided to start timing. I asked a few times and was told "a large order came in" but c'mon man it is fried pickles and quesadilla...I stayed only because I had already paid. Seriously, I had not been here in probably 20 years and wanted to show my wife the bar and feed my college boy on a quick trip over from Greenville. At some point during the long wait, and you have been there, the conversation becomes all about how they can't get a couple of quick appetizers out when the bar was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon. The food was just okay. We did not get any napkins or plates for sharing. The overall effort was poor. But I have fond memories of TTT and gave it a third star based on those memories. Come here to drink beer, watch the game and then go somewhere else to eat, lots of better choices nearby.

Yelp
Great staff, lovely bartenders, the wings are delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and vintage feeling. I love TTT and it is my go-to classic Clemson spot for food (definitely try fried pickles or onion rings) and any drinks I can think of. Truly embodies the spirit of Clemson and it's students/alum.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice walking around Clemson and stopped in at this establishment to check it out. My adult beverage was served in a glass. All liquors are dispensed out of a machine (neither good nor bad). Soda water was flat. Bathrooms were questionable, in the sense that the ladies did not have any stalls between the two commodes. The men's are simply troughs, and there is only ONE bathroom that has a commode for the men. That's just not right. Did not try the food, so no comment there. The pool table was missing half the balls (which we learned about dumping $1 worth of coins into the slots). The outdoor patio looked inviting. Although dark, very open and nice layout.

Yelp
Great bar. Great food. Great place to play pool. Highly recommend! Stop in and grab a drink or a bite to eat!
google avatar

Kat F.

Yelp
For a pub, I will have to say that the food is excellent. I enjoyed eating Reuben Sandwich and I also tasted French dip which are both great. The Mac and cheese bites came out steaming hot with marinara sauce so, be careful when you bite into them. This portion is quite small so order two if there are more than 5 people in your party. The taste was also appetizing. Tap beer selections are local and not many selections. They do have bottle beers as well as liquor selections. If you want to miss the crowd, enjoy lunch before the happy hour sets in. This place have pool table and game area. It also have a patio area to sit under the sun. Upstairs is a smoking area with a private membership club.

Yelp
The epitome of the college experience. Tiger Town Tavern is your typical college bar. Cheap beers, shots, mixed drinks. They have pool tables and outside seating. By day, the bar is crawling with families enjoying a cold brew and by night, the bar is filled to the brim with every walk of college life. Perfect place to catch up and reminisce on your college years, whether you went to Clemson or elsewhere!

Yelp
So I thought we were finally going to be able to try Tiger Town Tavern... Approximately 8:40 PM on a Wednesday, summer hours and not busy... Walked in and sat at a booth. We waited and we waited... About 10 minutes, when you are hungry and ready for a beer it seemed like an eternity. The bartender looked over a couple times but we still received no service whatsoever. Needless to say we left, poorest first impression I have ever seen. Very disappointing, unlikely we will return.

Yelp
I'm an avid TTT lover. Banger music. Sick drinks. I'm sad to report that my glass was stolen and it had 2 cherries left in it.
google avatar

Suzanne T.

Yelp
I will probably be disowned by the Clemson family for saying this, but I really don't care for TTTs. While it's a classic college spot, I just can't get into the vibe. The entire place seems dirty, dark, and sticky. The bathrooms are disgusting and don't even have stalls. It's a shame, because they have decent beers on tap and do great beer and liquor specials. But, the venue itself just skeeves me out. If anything, I'll come here on a nice day and enjoy a pitcher out on the patio, which seems decently clean. Honestly, there are other bars in Clemson that aren't as gross that I'd much rather be at!

Yelp
This past Saturday was my first and probably last visit to Tiger Town Tavern. As a Gamecock alumni and Greenville native I was excited to experience downtown Clemson with my boyfriend and other Clemson alumni friends and check out their favorite bar, but instead was greeted with some of the most hostile attitudes I've experienced at any establishment. We joined our friends at TTTs after halftime on Saturday and were in line to purchase drinks and food and get ready to watch the rest of the game when I realized I had a mostly empty forgotten mini bottle in my back pocket. I removed the bottle to free up my pockets and search for a trash can to dispose of it since I much rather prefer a fresh mixed drink any day, and know mini bottles are a no go in bars. One of the workers there saw me pull it out and ordered I hand it over, which I did without hesitation since, as I mentioned before, I did not want it and was trying to get rid of it. Instead of letting us all carry on and purchase our drinks we were in line for I was then told to "get the f**k out sweetie" while being aggressively backed out of the bar. I explained I was trying to get rid of it and buy a drink and which only made him more aggressive towards me. When my boyfriend and friends noticed and asked what the problem was the only response was once again to "get the f**k out." We asked to speak to a manager to explain and that request was refused as we were pushed out of the bar. We were all also not at all intoxicated or belligerent in the slightest. We managed to get the bouncer at the door (the only friendly face in the place) to get the manager for us, and when she arrived and we tried to explain the response was "leave or I'll call the cops." Now, I fully understand that you can't bring in outside alcohol, but this was an almost completely empty and forgotten mini bottle, which was immediately handed over to be disposed of. For the life of me I can't understand throwing out paying customers who would have happily been there buying food and drinks for several more hours, over something so small. In fact we would have probably gone back every time we were in town, but after this experience we'll be steering clear. We have all worked in the food and service industry and wouldn't dream of treating people with such hostility and disrespect, and I hope that others aren't treated the same.

Yelp
After a good day for motorcycle riding we returned from Helen, GA through Clemson. Our riding friend had been to TigerTown a few times so it was a perfect place to try. The outdoor seating in the alley provide some shade and we enjoyed our drafts. Great spot !
google avatar

Mike V.

Yelp
Was in Clemson to visit my daughter and see the Tigers win another ACC football championship. When in Clemson the TTT was a must stop. Not after Friday night. Guys at the door were cordial enough. Making fin of not asking me for ID. I wasn't upset. Even laughed with them. Inside different story. Sat at the bar for a minute or so. No bartender. Discussed which of the overpriced $30 tee shirts to buy. Bartender comes from the backroom and didn't have a very pleasant look on his face. We were sitting near the taps. No acknowledgement. Goes to end of the bar and takes an order. Makes a pitcher of some mixed drink. Delivers it and takes the order of somebody else down there. Bartender from other side come to the taps twice during this time. Our bartender serves another customer who walked up at the far end. Decided I had enough of being ignored. I was gonna buy 3 tee shirts. And planned on being there for awhile. Nope. Told door man about it. He didn't seem to care. There was a pretty good crowed that night. 99% college aged kids. I know I am a much better tipper then probably all of them. I was in college once too and I remember how I tipped then. So we headed over to the ESSO CLUB. Where we were greeted by Annie who served us our cocktails and food and had some spirited conversation and received a 30% tip.
google avatar

Harish P.

Yelp
Not a good experience here. My friend was thrown away because the guy at the door thought she had puked in the restroom, although she hadn't but maybe because my friend is brown we had to face this. I don't ever use such words or say something about the color but guy at the door is not the best of people you want to experience when you enter. I never went there again.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Dear Yelpers, This is Clemson, SC people. Not NYC. That being said, this is a 5 Star Location. They may or may not remember me from college. Do you have your 21st Birthday Shirt???? and gotta love the trough in the side bathroom and black lights.
google avatar

Bill H.

Yelp
It's a college bar. It doesn't have the cache of the Esso Club, but the food is better (I'm not saying that it's good - it's better than Esso. But do we go here for the food?). The bar service is better (perhaps because of the relative crowd sizes), and the table service is much better. Of the downtown (i.e., College Avenue) bars, I like this one best.
google avatar

Josh A.

Yelp
I felt a little out of place, cause I wasn't wearing anything from patagonia, mountain hardwear, or north face, but the prices were cheap and it was a festive atmosphere. I really liked how they played Tiger Rag and everybody sang along with it. Good times! My only problem, was that #1 I got carded and #2 My ID was stared at for at least a minute. Really? I'm freakin' 30 yrs old!
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
I agree with Josh - definitely a place for the greeks, but other than that the atmosphere is good. Trivia and bingo are fun.. the DJs have a good time and involve everyone else. The only problem is the staff is very rude to patrons. On a busy night, three staff members were sitting down on stools and not letting patrons use them. When I asked if there were more I was given the response in a mumble, "Should've gotten here sooner."

J D.

Yelp
Worst bar in Clemson, mean bar tenders, no dancing???? Free birthday t-shirt is actually $11, so take what you will from that

Robert S.

Yelp
IT-IS-GREAT to be back in Clemson. First stop is always Tiger Town Tavern. Thank you for always showing us a great time. Things are a little different after the last few months but you guys are doing a great job keeping it clean and safe.
google avatar

Deb B.

Yelp
We went on a quiet night, so we had the bar to ourselves. The staff was nice and the beer was awesome cold.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Garbage fries, Buffalo wings, potato skins and beer... you get the picture. Great pub/drunk drinking food... Ok Beer Selection and reasonably priced.

Angelina M.

Yelp
It was my first and LAST time. I was really disappointed on the hospitality. My boyfriend ordered a drink but then quickly realized he got the wrong one, asked to change it but the bar tender made it seem like my boyfriend had no choice but to pay for it. The bar tender said "I can't pour it back Soooo." It was a white male with dark brown hair. My boyfriend not wanting to make a scene paid for it anyway. We had a really terrible experience. Wish I could give this zero stars.
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
Great bar,big screen TV's for the games. Friendly service. Good selection of beers. Good hangout
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
We went to this bar before we went to tailgate for a game, it is perfectly "divey". They have great bloody mary for $4. I am very happy we got to go to visit an institution.
google avatar

Ryan K.

Yelp
Visiting from out of State. My friends insisted we go to Tiger Town Tavern or Triple T's as they put it. My friend ordered a pitcher of Dirty Shirley (Vodka, Sprite, Grenadine). It was mostly ice to begin with and it tasted way off. To the extent that everyone who had just been drinking the same thing at another bar poured their cups back into the pitcher. They suggested I approach the bar and ask if they could make me another one. At their bar they use a soda gun and I wondered if a mistake had been made. I politely waited at the bar for a bartender as they were slammed. All the bartenders just shrugged and said they couldn't help me. I asked to speak with the manager. Within 5 seconds he had told me to go f@¿k myself multiple times. He cussed me out for asking him to make a problem right. I didn't swear at him or use any foul language. The customer comes first and this place doesn't embody that spirit at all. If you want watery drinks and service this is the place in Clemson.
google avatar

Shelly S.

Yelp
I actually like the food here, it reminds me of a place from home. Beers are a good price also so thats a plus!
google avatar

Christopher H.

Yelp
College town bar...but a good one. Good service no matter how busy they are. Yet to have food there yet but heard good things. Have an upstairs and outside patio and bar to relax and socialize outside. One of my favorite places downtown
google avatar

Bill Y.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't very busy so we were seated and waited on in a short time. I had hot dogs and fries. They were good and hot. This was a nice place for a quick lunch.
google avatar

JoAnn D.

Yelp
Had lunch and a pitcher of ice cold beer today and it was awesome as always. Try the Monte Cristo and fries. Yummo! Great atmosphere...how can it not be right in the middle of the Clemson University grounds?!
google avatar

T.J. G.

Yelp
One of my favorite places at my alma mater. Great atmosphere, excellent bar/pub food. You can't beat Tiger Town for the "people watching" factor. As is the case with all bars in this part of South Carolina, you can't drink here after hours unless your a member of a "club"; in this case, that's Tiger Town Upstairs, located just as it sounds. I love all the appetizers, and the French Dip is always a fave. A great spot to catch the game and just hang.
google avatar

Stacy Lynn S.

Yelp
I was in Clemson with my boyfriend for his FLW Bass Tournament, and I loved every minute of this town, The botanical gardens, 45 minutes from hiking to a beautiful waterfall, and everywhere we ate or drank was fun and just great. We stopped at this place which is near the college and had lunch and a pitcher.. I had a reuben which I am picky about, this sandwich was amazing. perfectly sliced and not over cooked. Our bartender was really a trip, we enjoyed this bar!!!!

Kitty W.

Yelp
Had dinner with my son while visiting Clemson because. Food was pretty good for bar food. Not busy all. Server was good. Had a great beer list.
google avatar

Lucky 1 3.

Yelp
Apparently there were multiple tabs open with my same last name and I ended up getting a third of my drinks paid for. 5 stars!
google avatar

Robin C.

Yelp
The food was much better than expected. Went for lunch, the crowd wasn't too bad. Cool, older bar in town.

Hunter C.

Yelp
Incredibly disappointed in the staff and management at TTTs. Use to be my favorite bar while I was in college at Clemson. Now as a working professional in Greenville, I was excited at bringing my girlfriend (another working professional in Greenville) to her first Clemson game and first time in Clemson this past weekend. Immediately upon entering the bar, she realized she had a empty mini bottle in her pocket from an earlier tailgate and went to find a trashcan. As she did, an employee grabbed the bottle and told her to "get the f**k out, sweetie." Obviously I intervened and was immediately told to "get the f**k out too." I asked to speak with a manager and was refused. I requested again and was refused again. The employee continued saying the statements above and forced us out of the bar. Fortunately, the bouncer at the door went to find a manager as we waited outside. The manager immediately told us to leave or she would call the police all while the employee who kicked us out stood in the doorway smiling at us (taunting). I was honestly shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and disrespect. Management certainly needs to make adjustments; might make more money if you don't kick out paying customers. Clearly unacceptable behavior from a service industry.
google avatar

El G.

Yelp
Very cool place to watch a game near the college. Several seating areas, heated outdoor patio, pool tables, upper deck. You order at the bar or kitchen window and they bring it to you. No table server = no rush to get you out, which is great. Chicken wings were flavorful and huge! Great selection of draft beers and mixed drinks at reasonable prices. Good friendly crowd, not obnoxious, even on game nights.
google avatar

Jacob D.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Clemson. Music is always on spot. Large enough inside that you can easily get around without walking over people. Drinks are reasonably priced. Generally has some good beers on tap, including Guinness my favorite. The bar tends to be favored by upperclassmen and grad students.

Michael M.

Yelp
This review will focus only on the food side of Tiger Town Tavern. We decided to grab lunch here while visiting my son for a game. Since it was a game weekend, we had no problem with the wait. It gave us the opportunity to chat and catch up. The interior is exactly what I remember or expect from a college bar. I enjoyed the ambiance of Tiger Town Tavern with its wooded walls and wooden table tops that had the occasional name(s) carved in to the tops. It was reminiscent of my favorite college bar. The two stars is due our food order. We asked for 2 bacon cheeseburgers plain, 1 cheeseburger with just onion, a monte cristo with tater tots and an order of mozzarella sticks. When we received the order, all 3 of the burgers were wrong, and the tots and mozzarella sticks were luke warm (at best). When they corrected the order, it appeared to be one piece of bacon split between the two burgers. The cheeseburger with just onions was still wrong after it was "corrected", and I would describe all the burgers as being charred. All in all, a less than satisfying meal.

Yelp
Currently sitting at this place...1.5 hours in and no food...beer is good though ...at what temp is the heat lamp turned on? I'm kinda chilly
