It’s so awesome to finally have a rugby bar in DC!! I got to meet the owners and they’re really great people. Definitely the best bbq wings in the city! Great place to go for any sports event, they have plenty of tvs. Love this place and highly recommend checking it out! 🏉

We had a great time the other day talking with Sharon, the owner of Tight Five. She has a tasty selection of beers (and great prices) and a really good menu. Above all else, she took the time to talk to us and tell us a bit about her story of starting the bar. She clearly cares about her business and now we do, too! We’ll definitely be back when in town. Thanks Sharon! Sorry we didn’t take better photos … DELICIOUS grilled cheese and burger were consumed too quickly to capture.

WE WILL BE OPEN FOR EVERY RUGBY WORLD CUP RUGBY MATCH! Enought said Located in Adams Morgan, Tight Five Pub is your go-to spot for all things sports. Cheer for your favorite team on one of our 16 HDTVs while enjoying delicious American pub fare, cold beers, and hand-crafted cocktails. Join us for nightly specials, game day specials, and regularly scheduled fun and games. Owned by two former rugby players, Tight Five Pub strives to recreate on a daily basis the time-honored rugby tradition of a communal celebration after every match where players and fans from both teams come together to socialize over food or drinks. Come by the pub tonight to cheer for your favorite team, listen to great live music, compete in pub quiz or our monthly spelling bee, eat, drink, and be merry. What is Rugby? “Rugby is a good occasion for keeping thirty bullies far from the center of the city.” - Oscar Wilde "Rugby is a hooligans game played by gentlemen." - Winston Churchill "The pub is as much a part of rugby as is the playing field." - John Dickenson Actually, its a sport. It was created in England in the 1800s and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world today. It’s a team sport played with 15 players per team on the field at a time (or 7 for another version of the sport). You run with the ball, pass the ball (but only backwards) and kick the ball, with the ultimate goal of touching the ball down when you have passed your opponent’s goal line (its called a try line), all while avoiding being tackled by your opponents. If you don’t know rugby yet, the Tight Five Pub is the perfect place to watch a game and fall in love. Or you can just look it up on Wikipedia, but where’s the fun in that?

This place was not bad. Service was good. Wings were okay. Salad was great. We got charged for someone else's tab. I think they got it fixed. I would recommend this place.

Awesome food, great drinks, super fun staff that know their regulars and take care of them. Terminator sauce is the best on the menu if you want lava hot. Tots over the fries all day. Wish they'd turn their lights down past 5pm and the downstairs was open more often. Love that little cave dive bar feel.

First of all, great service in general. Food wasn’t good but staff was great. Food took 45 mins but that’s okay. One star because I essentially got tip scammed. I left a 24% tip, because the service was good and I like to reward that. I’m generous with staff. Little did I know, an 18% tip and 10% service charge was already added to my bill and I tipped 24% ON TOP of that. For service this is around a 60% total tip. I feel grifted. Furthermore, I don’t take money back that I’ve already given so after the fact I didn’t complain.

I love this sports bar. Everyone who works there is great and you can tell they actually enjoy working there. The food is great and drinks are super reasonably priced. Plus can’t beat their events - like their spelling bee - and any game you could possibly want to watch. They are also accommodating and put on the audio for the Steelers game when we asked. Definitely worth checking out. great vibes

Quite possibly the worst wings I’ve ever seen. Overcooked/burnt to hell, no sauce, no ranch or blue cheese.

Yelp
I stopped in last Thursday night for a singer/songwriter event (I guess TF has them weekly?) and was pretty disappointed with everything. The bar area was super crowded and my friend and I didn't see any waiters/waitresses or bar menus, and after we managed to find some seats in the dining area that weren't claimed with a body, instrument, or bag of some sort, we scanned the QR codes on our tables (each one had a different number) and ordered some food. I ordered a cocktail because they were listed on the QR menu and after a while the very frustrated bartender, who seemed to be the only employee in the place, wandered over shouting my name and made a remark (full of attitude) about customers ordering drinks online instead of at the bar. Maybe the drinks shouldn't be on the QR menu if there's no one to deliver them to the tables? Maybe there was no way for me to know that wasn't the action I should have done because I don't read minds? I don't live in a city but my friend lives in the DMV area and was just as confused as I was concerning how I did anything wrong. If there was a staffing issue, I had no idea since I've never gone in there before, but yet again that's not something I can be blamed for or something I should be passive aggressively mocked over. Fast forward to the food - my friend got a burger and fries and she said it was okay. She ordered a water and a side of ranch and got neither of these things. I ordered the fish fingers and chips (fries), which were supposed to come with a lemon wedge, malt vinegar, and dill remoulade... but those things were also missing. I instead had a little pathetic cup of ketchup, and so did my friend, and neither of us asked for one. The food was okay, but a basket of fish and chips and what seemed to be an 8-10 oz cocktail plus a 20% tip (which wasn't deserved but I'm a habitual tipper) costing $45 is WILD as hell. I stayed a couple of hours and listened to a handful of singers, and the music was pretty great but was 1,000% too loud for a very small space. I'm assuming the goal must have been for anyone in the bathroom to hear every guitar and keyboard note that was being played from the front of the pub. I left with a scrambled brain and a belly full of mediocre food and drink. If I ever come back I'm just going to eat and drink before I get there.

Yelp
This is a cool spot -- I confess, I know nothing about rugby, so I didn't know what to expect! I went on a Tuesday evening, and it was pretty empty, but that gave me a chance to take in the decor. There's a bunch of old school rugby posters hanging up, and it definitely has that sports bar feel to it. It's a great vibe -- and on top of that, they were all decked out for Halloween. I sat at the bar where my friend was waiting for me and I immediately looked at the menu. They got specials that tend to vary by the day on both food and drinks, and they have some creative and delicious cocktails. I shared wings with my buddy that were quite delicious -- we even tried the hottest ones, but they weren't so bad XD. With reasonable prices, super friendly staff, the occasional events like trivia, watch parties and spelling bees, and the cool vibes, the place is a hit. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Really good, consistent spot. The wings are always . The chili cheese fries are good too, just be ready for a whole platter full

Yelp
We stopped by this pub while we waited for a table at another spot. We just finished a long brunch and were ready to drink. We all ordered a cocktail the server was hilarious I swear he needs to be an comedian. I ordered an dirty martini it was good. Normally I wouldn't walk into a bar like this but they were super friendly and drinks were good.

Yelp
It's a collegiate dive bar atmosphere which is wonderful if that's what you're seeking however the drinks prices are far from a college budget. Maybe see if they have a HH but weekend is full-price :(

Yelp
Great vibe and team! I arrived for Tuesday happy hour and was greeted by the really friendly staff and had a great conversation with the team before my best friend arrived. Drinks were really great, we got the wings because they had a special deal (everyday has an extra deal on top of the happy hour, make sure to check this because I got my days wrong) and we also got dessert too. 1000/10 recommend because the team really tries to give you a great experience, they have a lot of programming and freebies (trivia, spelling bee, game nights - they have every sport) and they're better priced than most DC joints. Love that we finally have a true rugby bar in DC!

Yelp
Good specials and lots of screens with staff that are friendly and super helpful with switching channels. Def recommend the wings and tots!

Yelp
An amazing spot for Rugby lovers! From the great service to the cold beers-- this is really good find for a sports watch.

Yelp
The staff are all very chill, the burgers (on sale after 8 on Fridays at least) are pretty good, and the atmosphere is relatively low key. Not a bunch of dancing college students (that's the bar across the street). Would go again.

Yelp
Great welcoming pub showing the main international rugby games. Good ambiance and on a popular street

Yelp
BEST person award to Sharon for opening early so a few of us can watch World Cup. games. I'm from out of town and I will make sure this is my away from home bar to watch sports in a happy friendly atmosphere

Yelp
Never write yelp reviews but my experience needed to be noted... I even feel bad leaving two stars because the service was amazing. However, I overheard an employee be yelled at, including cuss words and direct attacks. It turns out the person yelling was the owner??? Though the spot was awesome (and me and my partner had no complaints) I cannot support an establishment where the staff is treated like that. Zero stars for ownership. Do better.
