Same cooks, same care, same consistency since the day after the grand opening, and the quality has never slipped. The food truly speaks for itself. The tacos are hands down some of the best you’ll find anywhere—packed with flavor and always cooked right. The music sets the vibe without overpowering the experience, and the daiquiris are smooth and refreshing, a perfect complement to the meal. Part of me wants to keep this place a hidden gem, but it honestly deserves its flowers. Everything on the menu is reliable, especially the ceviche and fried rice, which are always fresh and full of flavor. And the empanadas? Don’t even think about skipping them. Add in friendly service and a level of consistency that’s hard to find, and this becomes an easy recommendation. Whether you’re bringing family, friends, or out-of-town guests, this is it! If you care about real flavor, consistency, and a place that does things the right way, this spot earns your time—and your appetite. So sad to hear thisnplace is closing!

I’d love to keep this spot a secret, but it deserves the recognition. The food is always delicious, especially the ceviche & fried rice. Can’t forget about the empanadas either! 😋 Friendly service & consistent quality. Highly recommend!

Come for the taco Tuesday, stay for the tequila slushies. Or the lomo saltado. Or the charcoal chicken. Or the 🔥 music. But honestly I promise these are the best $2 tacos on the entire East Coast for sure (Taco Tuesday only but regular price is also fantastic). They don't skimp on the limes radishes and cukes. Sorry I don't have a food pic, I always devour it.

Great food and great service ! The meat on the tacos had a great sear and was topped with a lot of cilantro and onions. I appreciated that the food was seasoned well but was very light and fresh, not greasy at all. I’ll have to come back for yucca and pollito but from the smell, I know it’s bomb. The prices are very affordable too. I got 4 tacos for $12

Great spot! The chicken is juicy and the yucca is light and crispy. The plantain is especially delicious, sweet and caramelized. Highly recommend!

I was Tigo's first customer when they opened in 2021 and got the BOGO free whole rotisserie Peruvian chicken which was delicious! Its now a combination of Peruvian and Mexican food and they got rid of their delicious aguadito Peruvian soup and they no longer offer specials like they used to. I stopped by Tigo's yesterday after work and tried their tilapia which came with 2 sides. It was just 1 filet and not well seasoned but they do give you a variety of sauces from mild to spicy. The meal was affordable at only $14.30 but it was not enough food for dinner...maybe lunch. I finished it and was still hungry. If you want delicious Peruvian food with larger portions for the same price, check out District Rico further down H St in NW! Parking is also very limited outside Tigo's and I don't think its fair that the restaurant next door can take much needed parking spaces for their outdoor dining. I'm sure this must impact Tigo's as no one was inside on a Friday evening when I arrived. I wish them well but they should visit District Rico to see how to properly pack a to-go container.

Everyone working was pleasant and answered every question I had. I got 3 Carne Asada tacos with Yuca fries on the side. Hit the spot! Best Peruvian spot in the area. Clean atmosphere as well

Update: Go here for Taco Tuesday. I went last night for a quick dinner. They have huge $2 tacos that are so flavorful with well seasoned meat. The tacos are simple with cilantro and onion, topped with radish slices and cucumber. The food is tasty and always serviced with a smile. I've been here for take out and the staff is always friendly. Sometimes I'll wait for a few minutes while they cook my food and it's always a joy to watch them. They recently started a chicken and side special on Wednesday night that I look forward to. It's a great way to get some delicious chicken without getting the whole bird.
