The 15 Best Breakfast Burritos In Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Tigres Fuego in Redondo Beach serves the same incredible burritos as their sister spot, Baran’s 2239. But at Tigres Fuego, you don’t have to pre-order yours days ahead of time. Our favorite version of this hype-worthy breakfast comes with chorizo, well-seasoned eggs, crunchy tater tots, melted cheese, and salsa verde trying to bust its way through the seams of the tortilla. The burrito is nice and hefty, but still compact enough to hold in one hand as you walk down the block to find a beachfront bench. Tigres only offers these perfect breakfast burritos Friday through Sunday. Come early because they occasionally sell out." - sylvio martins, garrett snyder

4.25/4.5 stars. At 9:50 a.m. on a Saturday, Tigres Fuego was refreshingly line-free, already earning points for efficiency. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo, and it appeared so fast it beat my receipt to the counter. The cashier was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for an easy morning stop along PCH and Avenue E. Seating is limited, so this is a grab-and-go kind of place, and it suits the vibe just fine. The burrito itself comes wrapped in a soft, non-greasy tortilla, a small miracle in the breakfast burrito world. Inside, fluffy eggs, seasoned rice, cheese, tots, and chorizo come together in a balanced, satisfying bite. It’s tasty with or without sauce, though the green brings more heat than the mellow red. At roughly six to seven inches, it’s filling without being outrageous. Not the best I’ve ever had, but absolutely rotation-worthy. Solid 8.5 out of 10, and worth revisiting often soon.

Google
The breakfast burritos were delicious 😋 We had one bacon and one chorizo. Tasty salsa too! Long line but it moves quickly because they're pre-made- and because of that, they sell until sold out. I think breakfast burritos are only sold on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Google
Our friends brought us to Tigres and kinda hyped it up. And me? Never about the hype but THIS PLACE is IT. So good. Local and comfortable vibes, right near the beach - perfect for a quick pickup. Coral at the front was lovely and accommodating, and the guys are all hard at work cooking up each order freshly grilled. We loved all of their tacos, burritos and ceviche but personally - the Jerk Chicken taco was extra tops. Definitely a must-visit!

Aaron P.

Google
Wait in the line (it'll move fast) order a breakfast burrito (chorizo is best, bacon a second best) and walk a couple blocks to the beach and enjoy on the Esplanade. I heard so many good things about this burrito and it did not disappoint! It may be the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. We had four people in our group and everyone agreed. The salsas are so good though the chorizo was so good it didn't even need it. One of the rare cases where the food lived up to the hype.

Google
Delicious burritos! I've had all of their (Baran's) breakfast burritos, available Friday through Sunday mornings and they're excellent, the best in the South Bay. I finally got a chance to try their standard lunch time burritos and I'm equally impressed. Carne Asada California style with fries and refried beans inside, the sauce they use inside is delicious and their salsa is great, could be a little spicier for me but I get that not everyone loves intense heat. I also tried a burrito bowl, not impressed with that one. Flavors are on point but the portion of meat in the bowl was sad for the price. Burritos are a much better value, stick with those!

Kayla F.

Google
Came because we love the Baran’s breakfast burrito, but their lunch menu is just as fantastic. Tried the Cali burrito with carne asada and the jerk chicken taco and both were a 10/10. Perfect spice level and the salsa was killer too. Will be back!

Peter B.

Google
Very satisfying breakfast burrito. Got here when they opened and there was already a line. The line did go really quick as the cashier was very efficient. Great flavor, had the right ratio of meat to everything else. I prefer the red salsa, smoky and hot.

Candice F.

Google
Yum. Sinfully good! I got Jim Bobs burrito and it has probably one of the best burritos I’ve had. The meat had a nice flavor. Everything was well proportioned so you got a taste of everything in every bite. The size was perfect. Totally filling but not ridiculously huge where you feel gross after. So good. Can’t wait to try the ceviches and tacos next.

Yelp
Excellence - What else would you expect from the people that brought you Baran's 2239? TF brings a gourmet slant to a staple of our region. In Southern California, there is a Mexican restaurant on every other block, and yet the Baran's has effectively reinvented the wheel. The breakfast burritos, either chorizo or bacon are above and beyond anything you'll find in the South Bay (during COVID they offered specialty burritos as well, and hopefully they'll bring those back). Their lunch items however: tacos, burritos, etc. are world class. Easy in and out, counter service and outside seating... If you haven't tried this spot, you're missing out.

Yelp
Asia is the rudest and most obnoxious cashier I have ever encountered. This was our first time eating here, and when we simply asked what the top-selling items were, she immediately rolled her eyes. It was incredibly unprofessional and unwelcoming. Do not ask her for help if you expect basic courtesy. It's disappointing to have such a negative experience before even tasting the food.

Yelp
Now I almost why there's always a long line everyday. The service is excellent. The food is amazing. I think these are the key to a good food place. I can't complain when I was handed great tasting food that is within my neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Was in the area and craving a breakfast burrito so decided to check out this place. Unfortunately, we came in the afternoon and they were already sold out of their breakfast burritos and coconut horchata. So I ordered a cali burrito with pastor and it was probably the most flavorful cali burrito I've had. I really didn't need to add more salsa to it. Service was friendly. Limited seating with some counter seating inside and a couple small tables right out front. Will try to come back early enough next time for their breakfast burritos!

Yelp
Fast friendly service for a taco pick up Friday lunch. Prepared to perfection! Great vibe. I love our new spot! Can't wait to come again!!

Yelp
Right by PCH. Find a street parking nearby and do a little walk. The shop is fairly small with a couple indoor and couple outdoor seatings. The order was taken at the counter. The menu has a very interesting variety of tacos. The price are higher than most but justified with the size of the tacos; which they come in full size. The tacos were made within timely manner. The tacos were absolutely scrumptious which I wish I could eat more. The service was friendly and quick. Absolutely enjoyed the experience at Tigres Fuego. Its a 4.7 out of 5.

Yelp
Finally got to try Barran's sister burrito, and it's pretty good. The Cali Burrito with carne asada has a good ratio of beans to cheese to salsa, the fries add some much-needed texture, and the tortilla is quite perfect. The tacos are still good, no change there, no need to improve on the carne asada anyway. Al pastor has a good seasoning, and I love the pineapple, but LA has legendary trucks of this stuff. I love the combination of sweet potato and mushroom - the sweet potato has some serious char so it gets a bit caramelized. It could be a lot less oily, then again, that oil is delicious. Still a good taco spot, one of better ones in the Beach Cities.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito review! Score, I got one on a Friday just before 11 am. It was the last veggie but still delicious. Next time I'll get there earlier for bacon or chorizo and it would be even more delicious. Comes with 2 salsas (green and smoky red). Both had heat but not severe.
google avatar

Yelp
This is where you need to go if you are craving the best breakfast burrito! They sell them on the weekends till they sell out. They have a small parking lot and a few spots to eat outside. The service was fast as we got our order immediately once ordering. We got the bacon burrito and ended up getting their coconut horchata. If you are there that is a must order! The horchata was one of the best ones I've ever tasted!

Yelp
It was only recently that I found out Tigre's Fuego is Baran's 2239's sister restaurant. I've been a fan of Baran's 2239 ever since I checked them out for Easter a few years back. Since my first visit in 2017; I have heard many things about their famous breakfast burrito. Sadly; getting one of Baran's famous burritos isn't exactly easy. You basically have to pre-order via Instagram starting Wednesday, and they sell out quickly. The preorders fill up quick and the burritos are also only available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! I remember sending a message 15 minutes after the story that burritos were ready for preorder and they were already sold out! This is where the sister restaurant Tigre's Fuego comes in. This is the other spot to get them. One does have to line up and they do not do preorders, but it's definitely more accessible to get burritos from here. I finally got to try burrito thanks to Tigre's Fuego. I now understand why so many people love it. I chose to get the chorizo and it was really tasty. The chorizo was savory and meaty. It also had crispy tator tots inside. I love tator tots and so this was a nice touch. Yay for Tigre's Fuego! I'll definitely be back to explore the other burrito options! The other burrito flavors are bacon and egg-only. There are special breakfast burritos but these are only available at Baran's. Nevertheless; I'm excited to try all the other flavors whether at Tigre's or Baran's! Thank you Tigre's for making these burritos easy to get. I will be back for more burritos soon!

Yelp
Okayyy never been but my TOP Boss wanted to buy us lunch & came with tigres & i had the cali asada burrito & let me just say the Burrito was soo good . My thing is hows the meat going taste hmmm well the meat was SOOO SO GOOD. Flavorful . Would like to visit. Good food.

Yelp
Ive heard a lot about the breakfast burritos at this place and have had my fair share of special burritos from their sister restaurant, Baran's, so last time I was in town I made a point to suggest burritos and a walk to the Esplanade for breakfast. The line was a bit long but moved fast as the burritos are already made and bagged as you order. We got chorizo and bacon burritos and walked the couple blocks to the beach. Each burrito comes with one red and one green salsa. The burritos were a hit with the chorizo being crowned the overall winner and a tie for the salsas. The red was so good and smokey and the green had a good bit of spice. This will definitely be a stop every trip.
google avatar

Cecilia T.

Yelp
We grabbed breakfast burritos here on a Saturday. The chorizo was very good, and the bacon was a close second. They are very densely packed with eggs, hash browns, and cheese, and are a solid breakfast choice. The breakfast burritos are premade, though, so you cannot customize them, and they run out fast. Be aware that the lunch menu does not start until 11, so before that the only option is the breakfast burrito. While we ate about a dozen people got turned away at around 10:15 because they were sold out. And then because it wasn't yet 11, those people were not able to order anything.
google avatar

Kimberly J.

Yelp
We are already huge fans of Barans 2239 so we were excited to finally try their famous breakfast burritos out of their sister restaurant Tigres Fuego. There was a line, as expected, on Sunday morning but it moved quickly. It is a super small space - really designed for takeout only, with a few barstools for a quick counter dine-in or possibly waiting for orders. The breakfast burritos are basically already made fresh that morning so it helps to move the line along. Burrito itself was really good. It had a perfect balance of egg, chorizo, cheese and potato so each bite was that perfect bite. The flour tortilla was super soft and fresh. All of our burritos were still hot after my 15 minute drive home and they all (we ordered a couple bacons and a chorizo). had a little kick of spice even without the salsa. I can see why this is a local favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
My boss always buys us lunch from here on the weekends. Best Asada in south bay! We'll seasoned and tender. Portions are huge. I got full off 2 tacos (I usually eat 4-6 at a time)
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
I was here last week and had their fish tacos and carne asada Cali burrito. Fish Taco: The outside was crispy and the fish was flaky. Would definitely order it again. Cali Burrito: The filling was flavorful. I wish I could get more crunch from the fries though. Will be back for the breakfast burrito I've heard so much about.

Yelp
This review is for the Barran's 2239 breakfast burrito. The breakfast burritos are only available Friday 8am till they sell out and sat/sun 9am until they sell out. There was plenty of free street parking when I arrived. I arrived 5 mins after opening on a Saturday morning and there was already a line out the door of 15+ people. The line moved fairly quickly though so I left with my burrito in about 15 mins tops. The options for breakfast burritos this morning were: chorizo, bacon, or no meat. They had a special of short rib today. I decided to get the bacon but regret not trying the limited edition short rib..lol The burrito appears to be pre-made because after you order, it is handed to you very quickly after. It comes with two salsas-one green and one red. The total cost for one bacon burrito ended up being $14.78. The burrito itself appeared to be quite small initially but it actually was very filling. The best way I can describe it would be a warm, ooey-gooey breakfast burrito. It was very soft in texture and there was a lott of cheese throughout; everything seemed to be well scrambled together so you get a taste of each ingredient with every bite. I liked the salsas, it complemented the burrito very nicely. I do have to say the burrito was a bit too salty for my liking. It also would have been better with a variety of texture such as a crunch from the hash browns. But overall was a very satisfying breakfast and was great to try a new place:)

Pat S.

Yelp
Rats. All restaurants probably struggle with pests but actually seeing vermin at the place I'm eating at is a deal breaker for me.
google avatar

Adrian A.

Yelp
The best bacon breakfast burrito in the game. Wish they made more on the weekends so you could pick one up after 10.30 when they're usually sold out

Eric H.

Yelp
They kill it with the breakfast burrito. Worth the wait just get there early. A lines formed before they open
google avatar

Maya D.

Yelp
The BEST breakfast burritos around! (Fri & Sat) I've heard that it can be hard to get them at Barran's, so glad to find out about this cheat code. Service is always quick and friendly. The place is TINY, but seems like most folks are doing takeout anyway. Street parking is available out front.
google avatar

Roy L.

Yelp
This review is ONLY for their Baran's 2239 breakfast burritos. The burritos are freaking awesome. The downside to having to order from Baran's directly is the need to pre-order. I don't have that kind of foresight into my weekend plans to know I want a breakfast burrito on any given Saturday. Tigres Fuego solves that problem. You can walk in and grab a burrito and be on your way within 10 mins. The best part of the process is that there are only 3 version of the burrito to choose from, so their kitchen is constantly cranking them out. And the line moves really quick because there are only limited options. A+ for efficiency and taste.
google avatar

Ted A.

Yelp
Pretty convenient location for a breakfast burrito. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just as a breakfast burrito should be. Good menu selection, decent prices, great location. Burrito is average size, definitely enough for one hungry person, or two moderately hungry people to share. The green salsa is very good! The red salsa is really hot. Tap water tastes weird though, so better bring your own. Street parking is fairly easy. Some small tables outside and a counter inside. Quick service. Probably best to get your food to-go and eat in the car at the beach only a couple blocks away.

Mad P.

Yelp
Came here with my buddy because he was craving tacos, and I couldn't resist trying their aguachile ceviche. Holy SHIT this dish was bursting with flavor! It had everything I love in a good ceviche. I was so impressed I came back the very next day. This time I grabbed three different kinds of ceviche to go and had a couple carne asada tacos while I waited. Let me tell you... this is hands down the best carne asada in California and i'm not just saying that. Totally reminded me of my favorite tacos in Mexicali but thankfully now, I don't have to drive that far anymore. Highly, highly recommend this spot. I'm already planning to go back tomorrow!
google avatar

AJ D.

Yelp
Best tacos I've had in the South Bay and some of the best in LA. Fresh al pastor is so bomb. The jerk chicken one is also was really tasty. On the weekend you can get the famous Barans breakfast burritos - this place is worth a visit! Delicious and casual
google avatar

Jynelle Christine S.

Yelp
The Cali burritos here are so good! I got the carne asada one and not only was it huge, but the meat to fry ratio was PERFECT. The service was also great, the lady taking orders in person and on the phone was so nice and sweet. Only thing to note is that there isn't much seating but the beach is of walking distance so if you can't find seating there, you can take a quick walk to the beach and eat at one of the benches/seats instead :)
google avatar

Cori S.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast burritos! I tied the bacon burrito abd my husband had the chorizo burrito. Both are very good. Carry out only.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
New South Bay find. The tacos were amazing, full of flavor. Want to try the ceviche next
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
Despite how annoyingly small this place is and how bad parking is, I am not above stopping by for a couple of tacos. I stick with an al pastor and surprisingly the Turkey carnitas which are wayyy better than you would think. Never had the Baran Brekky Burrito, I don't do lines.
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I was craving tacos, and I came just when lunch was being served (starting at 11am) and ordered a Baja fish taco, al pastor, and sweet potato-mushroom. Service was really nice and friendly, and the food came quickly. The verdict: -- Baja fish (5/5): SO good. Really crispy, beer-battered and fried goodness. Tender fish inside, too! -- Al pastor (3/5): unfortunately, the meat was tough and on the dry side. It could've been better. -- Sweet potato-mushroom (3.5/5): a bit dry and on the bland side; I think some salsa would've made it better. Tacos were a bit inconsistent, which was a shame. But again, I really loved the Baja fish taco and kind service. I also heard Tigres Fuego serves breakfast burritos on the weekend, and they're sold out quickly. I'll have to head back and try it!
google avatar

Shaun S.

Yelp
Best tacos in town with delicious unique ceviche. Service is fast and friendly. Not much seating so a great place to grab food to go.
google avatar

The B.

Yelp
My rating is solely based on their breakfast burrito. Best in the South Bay in my opinion! They are directly from Barrans but the perk is that they are first come first serve. I always get the bacon one and the red and green sauce are the best!! You can taste the quality of the ingredients which makes their breakfast burrito stand out. Also a perk is that you can walk to the beach which is a few blocks away and see the amazing view as you are eating. I frequently take time out of my day to drive to get these breakfast burritos.
google avatar

Ella K.

Yelp
This is THE place. Whether you live in south bay or Pasadena, these burritos are it. The breakfast burritos are amazing but i didn't have a picture of one. This is the carne asada california burrito and it was so insanely flavorful. The service is fast, even though there is often a line, it is worth it. Be prepared to eat it in your car because there is little seating and what is there is super uncomfortable but you won't want to wait to eat it. I can't say enough good things about this place, from the quality of the tortillas to the taco toppings. You must eat here.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
I visited for my first time today. I went around 3 PM on a Sunday. There were a few people eating there. I ordered a Fish Taco and an Al Pastor. The fish taco was one of the best I've had. Next time I am in the area, I will try them again.
google avatar

Kaje Y.

Yelp
It was a Sunday morning and I went early at like 8am, but there was no line yet. I then went across the street to grab some coffee and hang ot for a bit. I returned at 8:40AM: 4 parties in line by 8:45AM 15 parties in line by 8:55AM and there was a consistent 15+ person line throgh 9:15. The spot is small, and since it was my first time here, I had to ask a few questions and the cashier was very nice about it: 1. All the breakfast burritos are pre-made so you canNOT modify them. 2. All other items on the menu are not available until 11am. (When doors opened at 9, they did fire up the grill, and there was a grill master there, but they were just getting ready for the day I guess) So for breakfast, you can only get the burritos which are pre-made. The breakfast burritos are delicious! Everything is well mixed, the red salsa has a nice kick to it. I got one of each and all of them were really good. I couldn't decode between chorizo and bacon, so had to try both. Also the Caribbean Jerk Chicken worked really well with the crema sauce. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
I've been trying to get one of the elusive breakfast burritos directly from Barans 2239. I then heard that you can get it directly from Tigres Fuego. There was a line out the door prior to it opening. The line moved fast. Service was friendly. They offered chorizo, bacon or no meat breakfast burritos. I ordered the bacon version which was ~$15 all together. They serve it with a green and a red salsa. I thought the burrito tasted fine. I would've liked a little more textural contrast. The bacon provided a delicious meaty chew. The little bit of green onion provided a little bit of a crunch. I expected more of a crunch from the tater tots but the potatoes were mushy. The salsas were flavorful. The red salsa was smoky. I thought both salsas were a tad bit on the salty side. It was filling, but I can't say it was my favorite breakfast burrito I've ever ever had. It felt like they might've been made far in advance and that's why tater tots weren't providing any crunch. Bottom line: Would I go back? I'm not sure I would go back for a breakfast burrito on my own accord, but I wouldn't say no if a friend wanted to go. The rest of the menu looked yummy so I'll probably be back to try their carne asada burritos or burrito bowls.
google avatar

Rosie L.

Yelp
OH EM GEE! Looking for a pick me up burrito in Redondo Beach??? Look no further! Watch out Phannies there's a bigger burrito in town! Don't let the long lines discourage you because it's definitely worth the wait! Bacon breakfast burrito is worth all the hype!
google avatar

Vivian V.

Yelp
Tigre Fuego is hands down the best tacos you'll find in the beach cities/in general. Their sister restaurant is Barran's, a Michelin guide restaurant in Hermosa. I usually get the carne asada tacos, so bomb. Their salsa has got a good kick--I would ask for it on the side if you're hesitant! Overall, top tier tacos. Bomb breakfast burritos (same as Barran's) Limited seating (3 inside and two small tables outside).
google avatar

Nayoung W.

Yelp
Fantastic tacos near Redondo Beach. You will find here el pastor tacos carved off of the spinning machine found commonly in Lebanese cuisine. Service is friendly and quick. Prices are fair. Parking in the area is on the street are abundant. Ambiance is mostly to go only. 2 tables are available outside, high tops. Don't rely on them to be available, though.
google avatar

Anne A.

Yelp
Value for money? Doubtful. This burrito cost me a whopping $17 with tip included, and it doesn't taste freshly made. Despite its popularity, it's smaller and thinner than your average burrito. And don't get me started on the salsa - not my cup of tea. I suspect these burritos aren't made fresh; the tortilla sticks to the wrapper like it's been sitting out. Freshly made burritos are my preference; I shouldn't have to peel the tortilla off as I eat. Plus, the bacon was chewy. Next time, I'll stick to the coffee shop next door for my burrito fix -- their burritos are the only thing worth mentioning, not a fan of their coffee.
google avatar

Nisha B.

Yelp
Still awesome! Still efficient I got fish and Al pastor today! The aqua Fresca is $5.25 but it's a bottle and it's really good!!!
google avatar

Donovan P.

Yelp
tigres fuegos have the best tacos & burritos in the south bay and its not even close - cali burrito is amazing with asada or pastor - carne asada / al pastor tacos are amazing - baran's breakfast burritos are also amazing
google avatar

Perris B.

Yelp
Small spot with a couple seats along a bar top style table right in front of where they are cheffing up. Service is good greated with a smile and asking if you have any questions and direction with the menu. The pastor wa already sold out when I got there so I know it had to be ! They are known for their very popular breakfast burrito that's always selling out. I came for tacos and ceviche and those items did not disappoint! Great salsa selection and hand made shells were perfect. Highly recommend this spot and their other restaurant Baran's 2239!

Amelia V.

Yelp
I'm a first-timer & I had probably the best fish taco in my life. It was fresh, hot & flavorful. I'll definitely be back.

Linda D.

Yelp
Delicious tacos all of them are amazing - absolute favorite place! We will definitely keep coming back!
google avatar

Wendy P.

Yelp
One of those few places that is just amazing...fucking amazing. There is usually a line and they sell out of the breakfast burritos on the weekends but this place is not to be missed.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Yes, Jim Bob Burrito is it. Flavor throughout from start to finish. The burrito is hot, as in it is piping hot. I dislike how sometimes burritos are luke warm. You can taste the charcoal in every bite! The rice and beans are cooked to perfection. It's a really solid burrito. Top 3 for sure. This worth the price! No regrets, I'll be back...maybe I'll do double meat next time!
google avatar

Olivia J.

Yelp
Everything here is great. I'm so happy they added the jerk chicken taco to the permanent menu! One of the best tacos I've ever had. Their specials are always amazing!

Yelp
Another tacos and ceviche joint that try to compete in the trendy street food arena. While the beach area had not been known for really authentic Mexican street food, it is now firmly in competition with the more inland areas of Los Angeles county. I was very excited to see that they had Al Pastor Tacos that were served with pineapple and beef cut from a rotating spit. I still remember the delicious tacos of this type served in East LA taco trucks. To my disappointment, the beef was over cooked and under pineapple. Their Carne Asada burritos were good but nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered the Coctel ceviches but was again disappointed when it did not include chips nor taco shells. Tigres Fuego needs to step up their game if they are going to compete in the area. Next time? Yeah I'll give it another try...maybe their torta.
