This is one of the coolest dining experiences! Me and my husband and our friends all loved it! Beautiful setting right along the creek. Service was excellent (she kept the drinks flowing). The gator bites were a unique fun addition to the menu. The steaks were excellent. I got the flat iron and my husband got a ribeye. Cooking them over the grill top was a fun and unique dining concept. Definitely cant wait to come back.

If you’re looking for a truly unique and welcoming dining experience, the Tiki Bar on the Manatawny Creek is the place to be! The outside dining is perfectly set up for a “grilling frenzy” — you get to grill your own food while enjoying the beautiful creekside atmosphere. What really sets this place apart is the abundance of seasonings and the incredible house-made sauces, each bursting with flavor. It’s a playground for your taste buds, and you can customize your meal exactly how you like it. The food is fantastic, but the people make it even better. Jimmy and Dee go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home, creating an atmosphere that’s both fun and friendly. You can tell they pour their hearts into running this place. So next time you’re thinking about heading to a big chain restaurant, remember there’s a local gem right here. Support your neighbors, enjoy amazing food, and come to the Tiki!

This place is a whole experience!!! Beautiful nature around, you get your meat and then you cook it at your taste on the grills, you have a huge variety of seasonings to flavor your food as you wish. People working at this place is friendly and helpful, they explain every step of what to do and give you the freedom at the same time to feel the experience of grilling enjoying the great atmosphere. They have a bar and tables available outdoors and indoors as well. Definitely, a different and unique experience that you can't find anywhere else. I will come back to this place for more, and probably make it a destiny to come many times every summer. I absolutely loved it!!!❤️

Google
A magical mix of dive bar vibes and tiki mojo creekside in Boyertown. The jambalaya, fried pickles, coconut shrimp, and crab balls were all delicious. Staff were friendly and the drinks were tasty. An unpretentious hidden gem.

Fun place with great vibes and delicious Tiki Margaritas!

Google
This is a gem. We ordered drinks, grilled our food. Great view by the water. Staff was great. Everything about it was fantastic. We can't wait to go back.

Google
Great place to hang out and have a few drinks. Food prices are a little high considering you cook it yourself but it is still well worth it. Even if you're not a grill master they will help you out so it comes out perfectly. I had the NY strip and it was the best I ever had.

Google
What a unique fun place. It is mostly outside seating, they do have an interior sitting/ grill area. Good selection of food. I had shrimp skewer and chicken breast. My partner had g-tip steak skewers and bacon wrapped scallop skewers. It is grill your own food. Lots of sauces, seasonings to add grill side. Not too crowded on a Wednesday night. Dinners come with a salad, bread and baked potato.

Yelp
Very intimate outdoor dining area along the Manatawny creek, with plenty of shade and seating for large groups. The food is yours to grill yourself, including kabobs, cuts of steak, and plenty of butter/seasoning. The live music provided plenty of variety, and the servers were attentive. There were multiple bars serving signature cocktails as well as a healthy beer assortment. It really is a hidden gem in Berks County if you want an evening outside with close friends. A standard dinner includes choice of two meats (steak, chicken, scallops, alligator, etc), a baked potato, and a salad for under $30. You can cook and season it however you want on fairly spacious outdoor grilling stations. My only complaint, and there's not much that can be done as they abut the creek, is that the parking is limited. Customers were double and triple parking each other in the spaces.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool!! Toy pick your mattress and have a seat at your grill which is loaded with spices and you grill your food. Great deinks! Great view of the river. Very lively. Great for a group. If you don't like to cook then you may want to sit this one out! Parking is a little tricky. Great staff!! I can't wait to go back
google avatar

Amy Q.

Yelp
This used to be a really amazing spot. I have to first say, the two servers for the entire outdoor area did their absolute best they could but just couldn't keep up with a fully packed place. The view is still beautiful and we got to sit by the water. The variety of food has changed a bit and the baked potatoes were running way behind, even though we got there pretty early. The hurricanes were still excellent drinks, but outside of that we weren't thrilled. This used to be one of our favorites and we probably won't be back.
google avatar

Monet R.

Yelp
Super fun place. You pick what you want then you grill it, spice it, and sauce it yourself. Yummy cocktails too. Pretty view of the river and peaceful setting. We went on a weeknight which was not crowded at all. I imagine this place can get loud on the weekends. It is a little more expensive than you might imagine considering you are cooking your food. You do get salad and backed potato with your main. We all ordered steaks or chicken.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Loved that there were plenty of options for seasonings and sauces to use on the grill. Great local food and fun atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
O.M.G!!!! This is a rare gem!!!! 5 stars for the staff and food. A delightful and fabulous dinner with good friends . Definitely check this out. You will not be disappointed. ( I had gator bites, bacon scallops, and shrimp. All fabulous!). Go here now

Yelp
I've been going to The Tiki Bar since the late 90s! This place is classic and awesome all rolled into one!!! It has barely changed through the years but still remains such a unique hidden gem in Berks county that it's like being transported while you're there! Tucked alongside the Manatawny River the restaurant butts right up to the river. You enter a lively decorated front restaurant area that gets filled once the outside tables are taken up! Outside tables are the best! Mardi Gras beads hang above the bar and usually when you do leave you'll find yourself wearing a couple !! The concept of cooking your own food on their legs always hot and ready grills! Indoor and Out! You go to the deli case and pick out your choice of meat - ranges from chicken , to shrimp , to gator , even snake!! They also have veggie options for those who don't eat meat . The Tiki Bars famous drink is The Hurricane !! As far as I know and remember you're only allowed 3 total, so you can imagine how epic they are!!! You'll find the wonderful owner working alongside his staff who are eagerly waiting to refill your drink and make sure your comfortable! The ambiance is lively and wonderful with great tunes outdoors ranging from Jimmy Buffet to The Clash you'll really enjoy yourself here I hope this place never changes

Yelp
WAY overpriced to cook my own food & sit in the lousiest and cheapest plastic chairs they could find. My back hurt so bad the next day. I got the ribs which were supposedly pre-cooked, I could barely chew the meat, even my husband didn't even want to eat them. Lol. extremely poor quality for paying $30 and then having to try to fix them up myself which was impossible. They need to come down in price a little bit considering we're making our own food. AND clean the tables & chairs daily. Some of the tables you can see the legs and underside were so filthy even at my own house I'll take some bleach spay and clean my "cheaper" tables when needed. It's a shame, I live so close & this is only 2x in my life I was there, and the last...

Yelp
First time at Tiki Bar, went with two other couples for a Saturday night dinner and drinks. If you read 8-10 reviews, you will probably get the gist of this place. I like restaurants with something unique or interesting about them...and I generally like 'cook your own' places as well. Tiki bar appeals on both counts here, it's got a cool vibe, a great setting by the Manatawny river (right on it in fact), good music and a really nice, young energetic staff. All a plus in my book and all important to a fun night out at a restaurant. In this area, especially, interesting/cool spots are not that plentiful, this place is definitely that. Where it struggles is in the quality and value of the food and drinks. First off, if you are a tiki bar you should have a wide variety of tiki cocktails... not just a hurricane and beer. No Rum Runner, Planters Punch, Zombie, Mai Tai or even a pina colada/strawberry daquirii? I didn't see a blender anywhere. No drink list in a tiki bar? Really? I ordered a hurricane and for $7.75 it was served to me in a 10 oz plastic cup (the cheap kind). It wasn't great, didn't have any fruit in it (typically a slice of orange and a cherry) and I didn't order another (though I did drink several delicious shocktop summer beers). The food (mix and match kebabs with scallops, beef, sausage (looked like kielbasa), shrimp or gator and a few steak options (to go with or without kebabs) was decent. I had gator and a mustard marinated steak kebab...both were seasoned well but the gator was tough/chewy (probably just a gator thing) and the beef was only OK in terms of quality (3 chunks totaling probably 4 oz, 2 of the 3 chunks were quite sinewy). Baked potato is good and the salad was pretty much lettuce with a couple of veggies. Overall, the food gets a 3 from me, the setting/vibe gets a 4 and the price brings the whole thing back down to a 3. $23 for 2 kebabs a potato and a salad that I cook and serve myself is pretty pricey for these parts. Almost $8 for a so-so 8oz hurricane in a 'college bar cup' also leaves me concerned. Lastly a tip jar everywhere you look (when you buy your steak, when you cook your steak, at the bar and obviously for the server who brings drink and clears your table) leaves me feeling liked I tipped more than normal and I cooked my own food and did half of my own serving? Glad we went...would I go back? Not until I run out of other new places to try.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere to hand with friends. Drinks were great and the food is good. Would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
The Tiki Bar was a great fun restaurant 10-20 years ago. We revisited recently to find it still a fun looking place for atmosphere BUT..... the food quality was as bad as it gets. The steak was tough tasteless and impossible to chew and eat, the seafood was chewy rubbery and looked old, and the alligator app was badly fried. We should known something was wrong as there was only 3 other people in the restaurant... but another restaurant right up the road was packed...Red Flag! Also the service wasn't too good either as they had 1 person running the whole place. Sadly we can only suggest to just go for a drink and the view of the water and eat somewhere else before hand.

Yelp
A dirty toilet with a pulse....Okay so I get the whole "cook your own" thing but come on Tiki bar!!!! $26 dollars for a piece of salmon and a potato. $15.00 dollars for a thimble full of Patron I guess the health inspector can not find this place because it would be shut down on all levels. Unsanitary conditions are everywhere $110 bucks with out tip for two entrees and a few drinks...On top of that we had to leave to go to another pleace to use the bathroom....Even the bathroom is a toilet Love the ice in the urinal though...Nice touch Will not be back...Ever!!

Yelp
If I could give one star I would. Owner is rude. This place is NOT biker friendly at all. We came in very respectful but was told to leave because of a cut off T-shirt. Being that this place is not fancy this was very annoying. Came in with 6 people, but you all lost that business forever. Good luck.
google avatar

Hunter T.

Yelp
Cook your own food on massive grills by the raging Manatawny! Meet some new friends and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Owner is a great guy and the service is always superb. Grab a hurricane if you come through!
google avatar

Erik B.

Yelp
All time favorite spot. Drinks are great, Hurricanes rule. Wide selection of food, Big Ass steak is my favorite. Wild Boar, Gator, you name it. If you can't cook or have a good time stay home, we don't want you here. You can have your food cooked for you but why? If your a cheap ass don't go also, you will spend some money but for the food and atmosphere it's well worth it!!!

Yelp
After talking to many people over the years that had been here I discovered that most people fall into 2 camps on their feelings about the Tiki Bar, either they absolutely love it and think it's the be all and end all or they're like meh and could care less if they ever go there again. I made my first visit this past weekend and I'm definitely going to fall into the latter category. High Points: Nice ambiance (music excluded) Super friendly wait staff Novelty of cooking your own food Low Points: Extremely weak drinks Cheap outdoor poly chairs that kill your rear if sitting for more than an hour Tropical/summer themed musical selection - it gets old really fast Wait staff that disappears for long periods of time Food is expensive considering you're cooking it yourself Novelty of cooking your own food I have an especially hard time getting my head around paying $20 for a steak that I have to cook myself so that doesn't help. Then we had a waitress that while very friendly was a number of times either standing at the bar smoking and chatting or MIA altogether, even though it was a very slow night, while we sat with empty cups. The big downer was the famous hurricanes. I had heard so much about these drinks - how delicious and strong they are. Delicious yes, strong....only if you're sneaking them to your 15 year old nephew that's dining with you. They were really weak and tasted more like a fruit drink with a splash of alcohol. My friend even said something to the waitress about how weak they tasted. He downed 5 with no problem and no, he's not an alcoholic. I can kind of see how some people might fall in love with this place but I personally just thought it was ok. The place doesn't suck but it's such a one trick pony. If you like predictability in an island themed bar, weak overpriced drinks and paying regular restaurant prices to cook your own food then this is the place for you.
google avatar

Marlene W.

Yelp
The first time is amazing then the novelty wears off. I can stand around a hot grill and cook my food on my back deck. The only thing this place has going for it is they have banging hurricanes; you will get fucked up! If you have a bad meal it is because YOU can't cook. Try it once with a group, I don't recommend going back for more. If you liked this place try Union Jack's down the street.

Yelp
This place used to provide a good experience - it has since become a place with a lackadaisical staff, high pricing and small portions, among it's parking problems. Let's face it, you probably do not live in Oley. You probably do not live near Oley. To drive one hour to a restaurant to be turned around because their lot it full is a bit ridiculous. How about not being told they are out of food so you buy drinks at the bar while you wait for a table. Asinine rules about which counter you order food from can leave you with an empty plate - I had to hit both lines to get an alligator kabob, the first was not allowed to pull from the second for me. The portions are SMALL - the tuna looked to be the size of one I had on an $8 sandwich from my local tavern the night before. From the look of the "No Motorcycle Parking" signs around the building and previous attitude, motorcycles are unwelcome. This place is merely annoying, but for the prices, why aren't you having a chef cook for you? One hour from civilization, they are hoping you consider yourself stuck and deal with what they offer, or don't offer.
google avatar

Biff P.

Yelp
This place is in the middle of nowhere. We were invited by another couple who lived much closer than us. All your food is purchased inside raw and you bring it out to the grills to cook yourself. At the grills they have all the seasonings and sauces you would need along with an employee to help if you need it. We were lucky to get a nice table by the creek. The servers are basically there to get you cocktails, and OH did we drink them up. Overall we had a great time, just not sure it was worth the drive.
google avatar

Li E.

Yelp
The tiki bar just rocks. An awesome atmosphere with great food. Yeah, you cook it yourself, but you have a lot of fun doing it! The wait staff is a lot of fun too. Great place for a group of folks to go to.

K K.

Yelp
Always a great spot to relax with great friends. Yes, you cook your own food here, and if it doesn't turn out the way you like it, blame yourself! Been going there for over 15 years now. The staff is friendly and you'll have a blast!

Chris H.

Yelp
Good vibe, cool location. Yet it still needs to do better. Alcoholic drinks very limited. I want pina coladas, daiquiris, and margaritas. They're drinks 7.50 a pop for hurricanes and some weird green pineapple thing aren't that good. Buy a blender. Foods good, way pricy though. $29 for a "Big ass steak" it's a thick NY strip that you cook yourself is a bit crazy. Lots of complaints but it is a very cool little restaurant.

Kristina C.

Yelp
Went there last night. When we got there we were seated in a cute booth by the grill. Unlike all the people complaining about cooking their own food, my husband and I enjoyed this because we are flavor/seasoning fiends. Got kebabs in steak and scallops. So good. They may want to post time recs for cooking the steaks. I had no idea what was long enough for my intended doneness. Salad dressings were empty by the time we got there. I'm sure they would have been replaced if I asked, but I just used hot sauce instead.. Bonfires all year long sat by the fire with a drink in February. It was awesome.

Christine F.

Yelp
No one there. Drove quite a bit around closed road and got kicked out because my husbands shirt didn't have sleeves. But the girls in sleeveless were okay.

Kathy T.

Yelp
I have been coming to the tiki bar for over 30 years. The food and drinks and staff have always been great. Tonight, I was there and the food was not that great. The filet was thin, maybe 4 oz? The potato was hard, and the shrimp kabob, 2 of the shrimp were spoiled. Filet, kabob, potato and salad is $29. The hurricane was ok..but nothing like the ones I have had in the past. I was there about a year ago, everything was much different. Also the bugs were annoying and that was never an issue before. Of course I will try it again..in the future it's my favorite spot to meet up with old friends. But..fix it please.

Rhonda M.

Yelp
I drove over 2.5 hours from Gettysburg for a get together with my college roomies. The bar/restaurant was empty but because our male DD didn't have sleeves, we were turned away by the owner. Absolutely ridiculous. Guess we should have known better as the parking lot was empty.
google avatar

Yelp
Celebrating my sister's birthday. This is one her favorite places to eat when she visits home from living abroad! Something about grilling your own food won't motivate everyone to try this place, but it really is a treat with a neat island setting right on the Manatawny. Good quality selection of meats and seafoods to select and prepare just the way you like it on their giant brick gas fired grill.
google avatar

HM R.

Yelp
Every one of my yearly visits to this place have been perfect. You cook your own food, which is a turn off to some, but if you enjoy grilling, then this is a cool concept. I have never had to deal with insects even though we are outdoors, with food, right aside of a creek. The staff is most accommodating, and really try to make your experience personal. The food selection is a tad eclectic and they do not offer a large menu, but the selection is versatile enough to cover everyone. Portions are nice, and the meal is always served with salad, bread and baked potato. They offer a "raw bar shot" (oyster/clam/shrimp/etc) that is really good - I've never seen that around this area anywhere else and don't forget to have a Hurricane {limit 2} and yell like crazy when you hear the bell!! It is generally an adult crowd and groups frequent (bachelor/ette parties, birthdays), so children do not fit well in the mix. Please don't take them unless they are supervised and well behaved. It is a bar too, and the area outside, really, is the entire atmosphere of the place. Your tables are set into little "nooks" for privacy, and the paths leading from the grills to your table are single file. Not a place you want kids running around with adults who are drinking... It is a totally different dining experience. Get there early because they do not take reservations and they will not seat you without your entire party present.

Speed T.

Yelp
concept is good but the execution is terrible. You buy raw,k-bobs, steaks, salmon, scallops, etc. inside and take it out to grill to cook with the help of the staff. Meanwhile u also buy salads and pre-baked potatoes that sit at your table while you cook your food, bad system why cant they being u salad and potato when you sit down with cooked meal. You pay resteraunt prices for all food. Cheap plastic lawn furniture.
google avatar

Jesup K.

Yelp
Really incredible service and staff great drinks and food the atmosphere is one of a kind, you won't find a place like this anywhere else

Brian M.

Yelp
What a ripoff. Raw bar is a joke. Overpriced water down drinks. Cooking those measly portions of food is s waste of money.
google avatar

Jen A.

Yelp
I love going to the Tiki Bar in the summer to relax and get away. The food is rather expensive since you end up cooking it yourself, but you never leave hungry! The waitstaff is friendly, quick, and helpful. Just remember your bug spray since it's next to a river!
google avatar

Krissy W.

Yelp
This is my all-time favorite restaurant! Although I live in Virginia for the past 8 years, every time I visit my family in PA, I insist on going to the Tiki Bar. Outstanding Hurricanes, fabulous steak and seafood, and the atmosphere is unbeatable.

Robert B.

Yelp
Place gets it's rating on atmosphere alone. Not only is it in a great location (a bit far out in the the woods albeit), but the environment is great. Good beer selection, and and an even more eclectic selection for dinner (I had alligator!). Cooking the food yourself is entertaining, could see how it could get old and lose its novelty, but it's certainly worth the visit if you haven't been before.

Lisa K.

Yelp
Come and be and get taken away to the Keys! This place is amazing!! Thoroughly enjoyed the frog legs, gator and HURRICANES! My boyfriend took me here and I didn't want to leave. Peaceful, enchanting and beautiful scenery! Great place...will definitely be back again and again.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Great Island atmosphere if you enjoy picking out your food and grilling it yourself while enjoying a great selection of beer and spirits than this is the place for you, just visited, and as always staff bright and accommodating, food was great!

Emily S.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming here. As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you with a friendly attitude and sincere smile. The staff are just really easy-going and fun to talk to. The atmosphere is awesome, especially outside on a summer night. The Hurricanes are also amazing, and reasonably priced. I just wish they were open till 2am, I never want to leave! Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Riss E.

Yelp
Food is overpriced. The drinks were weak. They have a great location on the creek but the outdoor furniture is extremely minimal. The staff is all wrong. They try to push food on you too hard and they seem very low energy otherwise. A few key changes need to be made and it could easily come back to a 5 star place for me.

Raf M.

Yelp
Different experience with ambiance.. very good place in summer.. you can grill your own food.. slightly on the expensive side..

Adam S.

Yelp
I was a bit curious at first. They had a parking attendant which is helpful. It is in the middle of nowhere but when you get inside, the staff is great and explains the process. Beers right away, ordered the food and were cooking having a lot of fun. Sat right near the water and had a great view. A bit pricey but not bad for an occasional celebration. I wouldn't recommend it for every week.

Lynn M.

Yelp
The concept and atmosphere are awesome but they really need to invest back into the place, everything seems run down. It would be great if they offered food you didn't have to cook yourself (even just bar food). More beers on tap and expanding the liquor selection would be good as well. I would love to be able to drink a frozen margarita outside. Also - their signature drink (hurricane) is a little ridiculously priced at $8.50.

Kirsfen F.

Yelp
The staff was INCREDIBLY immature & unprofessional. Our tuna was "spoiled" & the "Manager" on duty gave us nothing by an attitude. I also fell & injured myself on the rocky terrain & the staff didn't care one bit. The rest of the food was ok, but not good enough to ever return.

Jimmy M.

Yelp
I actually love this place because of the atmosphere. This is my type of place but I only give 3 stars because I have to be honest and tell you that the food is over priced. It's a great place to go with a group of friends and party outside on a nice night. Everything on the menu is $20 or more and you have to cook it yourself, which I like but I don't know why it's cost so much. I wouldn't complain if they had some cheap options like a burger or chicken. I still recommend going here to have fun and enjoy drinks with friends.

Todd W.

Yelp
The Tiki Bar actually has 2 locations -- this review is for the "original" located in Earlville along the "Ragin" Manatawny. I had high expectations for this place. It was a bit of a letdown. First of all, the parking sucks. They have a small lot and they really cram you in. Thank God I have a sunroof!! I would not take a car you care about to this place. Then, when my friends and I arrived (we RSVP'd for a group of 8 people) 6 of us were already there. We got there early on a Saturday. There was NOBODY else there yet at any table... and yet... the annoying owner flat-out refused to seat us until the rest of our party showed up. Very bad customer service. When he was not looking, we blew him off and sat down anyway and just ignored him. He stared at us all night.. but so what? It's not like they can spit in your food... you grill it yourself. Anyway, the atmosphere is nice... even though the creek is hardly "Ragin", but the prices are ridiculous considering you have to grill your own food. And, like I said before, the owner is a jerk who's obviously gotten pretty pompous and full of himself running this place. Some better customer service would go a long way. Fun atmosphere, but cheap place and a total fascist owner.
