The wedding party stayed at Cheeca Lodge, and with the Tiki Bar being located in the resort by the pool, we frequented it quite a bit.
We stayed elsewhere to give the wedding party some privacy; but, nonetheless, we spent quite a bit of daytime hours here. Since we did not stay there overnight, my comments reflect Tiki Bar only.
We ate there a few times and food was delicious. The thing I liked best is they have menus for each of the resort's restaurants...so, in a group of 8, we were all able to find something we were craving. All of our meals were delicious, albeit pricey. However, the 10%-15% extra spent was more than offset by the convenience of leaving the resort!
All of our servers were outstanding, with Kali by far being our favorite. She was bubbly, outgoing, and made us feel more like locals than tourists.
The atmosphere is my only critique. As the name suggests, it's a tiki hut on the beach, with fabulous views of the water. However - and I hope the management reads this - the interior needs two things.
First of all, fix the darn fans! One night, it was 92 degrees with a zillion percent humidity and only 1 of the 6 or so fans worked :(
We mentioned something to the bartender, and his response was "they haven't worked in 3 years...it's a running joke here." Love the honesty; yet when you charge $400+ per night for rooms, there must be some cash in the budget for maintenance.
Secondly, 2 of the 5 days we were there the TVs did not work. There was a message saying the satellite was out. I've experienced this during storms and what not...the skies were crystal clear though. Maybe it's time go with cable???
