Photos are from a previous visit, much better experience. *UPDATE* *UPDATE* unfortunately I need to address a concern regarding your poor Business operations my experience today 12/20 at 3pm. I spent a lot of money here I always bring my family here. I ordered chicken wings, Birria, and 5 Carne asada tacos. The woman at the register tried to weasel me and charge me $50 and then insisted on lying to me saying it was just tax finally when I did the calculations myself based on the menu pricing it should have only been $34 she tried to say it was taxes and I told her that's not correct then she said the pricing on the menus were wrong it's whatever the machine says I am not the owner I only work here. I was blindsided, and began to wonder how many other times have I been robbed? This isnt an ethical way to operate a business. Especially when you have the same customers visit your establishment frequently.

Excellent service, very good fresh food, quality and traditional Mexican food.

Come to this location off College Park for the best food, the location off Main Street is great for drinks & entertainment. My food was leveled up with a visited the College Park location. Everyone is nice, they work hard to create a dope atmosphere to keep you coming back for more.

Well, the parking lot suck at this location, the dip was tiny for the price, the corn was the absolute best, the birria did not have a lot of flavor, the birrias also had way too much fat, and the dipping sauce was broth like with no flavor.

I called to order & wasn’t able to understand the lady so I asked if anyone spoke English being that I live 35 minutes away I wanted to make sure my order was correct , she put me on hold and never came back to the phone , the second time I called she spoke very fast and put me on hold without a response , the third time she hung up on me ! I’ve always loved tiki taco but my last few visits the customer service was trash I hate when a business disappoints like this so because I was already on the way I went to order in person when I got there she was loud and very rude saying no English here but then she repeated my order in English that I had over the phone ! My co workers and I will not be back I will travel further if I have to for better service especially when I’m spending my hard earned money . The lady is photo graphed below she had on a black jacket and blue jeans with gold jewelry . My food was good but not worth the horrible service

5 ⭐️. These tacos(pastor and cubana) are absolutely delicious. I have had tacos in Mexico and these are spot on!!!! The red salsa is PICO! The service was great. Yes there was a little wait for the food buttttt the food is wellll worth it!!!! I definitely recommend!!!!!!!!!! Yum!

Exactamente! this taco spot is fuego on fuego. I was met with a beautiful host who escorted me to my table. I was indecisive so I went with the classic soft taco. 🍗 🥩 🌮s with side 🍚. The Jamaica drink was made perfectly. Kinda reminds me of that one time me and granny were detained at the border in Tijuana *more on that later*🤫 This place is highly recommended if you live, work or play around the Charleston area. Definitely coming back for more!

This is the best Mexican food in Charleston. It's reasonably priced, tacos are really cheap when compared with other places. It has an authentic feel and atmosphere. I've heard from others their wings are fantastic and their burgers are cheaper than fast food ones. They have inside seating now at their college Park road location.

Best steak tacos around they have indoor and outdoor seating. The ambience is good eat here on a regular basis.

Order a pastor burrito with refried beans and rice. Everything in the burrito was seasoning, bland and it wasn't hot at all. The side of rice and beans is small. There's no seasoning and was not hot at all. This is not worth coming back to at all!

I dislike writing negative reviews but this restaurant just did not deliver the quality of food I was expecting based on previous reviews. Service was efficient and friendly. Plus there. Plenty of seating.

Had a salad in a taco bowl. Quite good. Not enough of it. I expected the bowl to be full. About half. Otherwise a nice variety of greens, guacamole, pick, etc. quick and pleasant service

The food is amazing! Not a long wait and the staff are very friendly but don't speak much English. Chill environment with a street food feel. Street corn as a side 100% must get!

Best Mexican food! The one on Old Trolley is the best. They have a full bar and not just tequila. The food is authentic and the restaurant is always very clean.

Looking for great tacos and a reasonably priced lunch, this is your spot. I tried the camron, el pastor and carne asada tacos, all three were excellent with their homemade hot sauce. The pollo tamale was great s well highly recommend if you're in the area and need some tacos in your life. In a rush, no problem, they crank out to go orders

Forgot to take a picture before taking a bite of my taco but all in all we loved our food. We got an Al pastor burrito, Al pastor taco, asada tacos and a kids hot dog. The prices are so much more reasonable than the majority of Mexican spots in the area and the food was delicious. Our kids' hot dog and fries meal was very decently sized as well. We will be ordering from here again, thank you :-)

When you order a Chicken Quesadilla and it come out as a shrimp quesadilla and you say something and the waitress gets an attitude, takes it back and 3 minutes later brings it back with chicken in the same one and did nothing but take the shrimp out and put chicken in but forgot to get all the shrimp out. Just be lucky my wife is not allergic to shrimp because that was total disrespect and lazy. That was our first and last trip

Cool, funky place I stumbled across. Food comes from a food truck, but they have a covered patio and actually send servers to do the running between the seated area and the truck (as well as a kitchen in a building). The tacos were good, I tried a variety. The real winner, at least for me, was the Mexican street corn. This is a definite must have here. Decent prices and if you want a beer with dinner, they got you covered. I would come back. I have had better, but this place is good. I stopped in on a pleasant Monday night, the weather was absolutely perfect, and enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the moment.

The tacos didn't tiki my fancy here ! Knocking two stars off because the tacos I tried weren't that good. Ever since my palate was enlightened by authentic al pastor tacos in Mexico I have been trying to find the same magic in the states. So far no success . I ordered the al pastor and the carnita taco. The pastor taco was missing the pineapple that traditionally comes with this kind of taco . Also, the description on their menu even reads their pastor taco comes with pineapple but when I asked the waitress, she looked at me like I was loco. The pastor taco was drenched in marinade and just didn't taste good. The carnita had zero flavor and had fatty pieces in it . I was so very sad at how disappointing the tacos were. As for the atmosphere, I loved it . Seems like a local favorite as many people strolled up to the food truck while I was there to place an order to go . The place was busy and it was easy to relax and enjoy the evening breeze. The waitress was sweet and brought the food out in good time. Also, the restroom was clean- that's important! Overall, I would go here again and try something else because I did enjoy the atmosphere and service . Hopefully, I can add more stars next time .

Food was delicious but the waitress was slow at everything without it being busy. Had to try this place from people saying it was the place to go for authentic Mexican food!

Bartender takes shots with clients and ignores everyone. Horrible service. The owner is one of the best people I have ever met!!!! She needs to be fired. Totally inappropriate for her to ignore us I had to let her know our food was ready and sitting at the window as well. This family owned business has the best food ever. The employees are the issue

Coming from Cali, I'm spoiled! Best of everything there including street tacos. After months and months of trying and searching I finally found one that I can accept. The street tacos here are good and their sauce is awesome. The red sauce is spicy and fabulous just the way i like it. My boyfriend likes the tamales. Overall place is a hole in the wall but I'd take great food over a 6 dollar taco at a fancy place that tastes like crap anytime.

This was the first I've eaten at this location and it will be the last. It took forever for us to get our food and when we did, my daughter didn't get the rice and beans that she ordered. She had to ask the server for it and she acted as though she didn't hear her order that even after she repeated the order back to her. When she did bring the rice and beans, the rice was cold and looked like it had been made earlier in the day. . It took forever to get the servers attention to ask that the rice to be heated up. She didn't apologize,'just acted annoyed that she was asked to do anything. I understand that most restaurants are understaffed and I sympathize with them, but it doesn't mean that you can't provide good customer service. I really don't know what was worse, the food or the service.

I'd give them 10 stars if I could! Coming from Los Angeles I've been hard pressed to find REAL Mexican food. Hit the Jackpot here and I knew it cuz we were the only Gringos in the place. A tiny little hut with a truck with an A rating. The food coming off this trailer is the real deal! I had 2asada, 1 chorizo, 1 al pastor. Hubby had carnitas street tacos. There is a little market there too. The tacos $1.69 each! Don't be put off by the humble set up. The food is AMAZING!

A couple of years ago, Tiki was a rustic, authentic little outdoor place with really good and authentic food. Today it has become rundown, dirty and dumpy with trash all around the place. Ordered menudo today and it was full of bones and pure clumps of fat. When I asked for some actual meat (tripe), the rude manager said that's all they put in their menudo now. Very disappointed with Tiki. Used to be my favorite.

Delish!!! I went here on my lunch break from work. I was embarrassed to be a dumb American who didn't speak Spanish and waited to go with a colleague who speaks Spanish but no need to worry, they spoke English and I ordered and everything was fine. Food was made pretty quickly and was very authentic and delicious.

I am so glad Larry Y.'s review of Tiki Taco came across my feed this morning because this place is legit. I felt like I was back in Fort Worth's Northside at my favorite taqueria. We got Tacos Asada, Quesadilla Asada and a Taco Americano. The tacos come with limes and radishes on the side and three different salsas. I didn't try the salsas because my tacos were perfectly seasoned and didn't need anything extra. I'm not sure how long we waited but it was a reasonable time considering this is a very busy but small operation. We had to wait longer for a table than we did our food - which we ordered at the window before we got the table. Great food. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

When I'm in the area or driving by, Tiki Taco has become one of my favorite places to stop and grab some delicious Mexican food. I've tried most of their Tacos including Pollo, Asada, Carnitas and Americano. They have all tasted excellent with fresh cilantro and chopped unions all wrapped inside their tasty corn tortillas. I like both their hot red sauce (although I prefer even hotter) and their other brownish colored salsa. I'm also a fan of the relish, hot peppers and sides that sometimes come with the tacos (there have been times when our order didn't includes those). Their chips and cheese were great as well. The cheese dip was perfected seasoned and tasted homemade, as well as, very authentic. The chips were probably store bought, but were still good. Other things I tried at Tiki Taco include their Tamales, Burritos and the Tortas (or Mexican hot meat sandwich), which were all great and nothing to complain about. Service: One time we ordered ahead and placed a to-go order. When we arrived, we still had to wait 15 minutes for our food. It seems like they never made it until we arrived and paid for our order. Otherwise, the service has always been good. If you haven't tried Tiki Taco, give them a try either takeout or eat there in one of their outside seating areas.

The authentic tacos I've had from a taco truck my favorite are the corn tortilla tacos an street elote!

This place for sure doesn't look like much from the road. It's a small hut type area for seating and the kitchen is a cross between a food truck and a hot dog cart. Don't let Amy if that scare you away though! The staff is courteous and the beer is ice cold. I was blown away by the amazing prices and the generous portion sizes. They have so many options for taco fillings and have several vegetarian options. The food itself was delicious and very filling!! I would definitely have to make this a go to anytime I am in the area.

It's pretty basic but it's good food for good prices. Great customer service and they're fast at getting you you're food.

We stopped in at the very last minute. The kids wanted Burger King...but the adults did not lol. So we passed every place before seeing Tiki Taco on the side of the road. We stopped at the last minute and turned in. Bae went in and ordered us 2 pork, 2 chicken and 2 beef tacos with the green and red sauce on the side. The tacos were BANGIN! The sauces were good but the red was a little too hot. My nose was running lol. The radish was a nice touch and relieved the heat nicely once I was done with the tacos. I looked at the menu and saw so many things I wanted to order too! Needless to say we will be back for more great tacos or even that delicious looking chicken nacho dish I saw on one of the reviews!

I was introduced to authentic Mexican tacos at a small, family owned taqueria in Alabama and was hooked! I didn't want to even order tacos anywhere else because there was no substitution to their tacos. Since moving here about two years ago, I've been looking for that elusive taco that I longed for. I found just that at the Tiki Taco on College Park Rd! It is a food truck with a covered seating area. It isn't fine dining, but it is definitely fine eating! I ordered a Pastor, Carne Asada, and the Lengua tacos. They are served on two corn tortillas (you can request flour, but why would you??), with fresh chopped onions, cilantro, and slices of radishes. Each taco was so flavorful! The meat is very tender and I am so happy to have found my new go to taqueria!! The Michelada is delicious as well, but be prepared-it's a large serving! My husband enjoyed his tacos and was won over as well. We are fans and are looking forward to the next visit!

Very disappointing. Lacked seasoning. First time trying. I think my expectations were too high.

No one wants to have a great taco and have to listen to the bartender winning about her life went today 10 31 21 I had to leave the bar area and move to the front table and could still hear her going on and on about her life. Tacos are great , atmosphere suxz... summervile trolley store.

Awesome prices, authentic tacos and always the same good quality of food. You can get 12 tacos and a few beers for 2 ppl and pay around $30. What's not to love???? My favorite is asada, shrimp and chorizo tacos and beef quesadilla. Street corns are awesome too. I go to this place at least once a week and never been disappointed. I usually make it to go(always ready within 20mins) or dine in with beers or margaritas sometimes too. It's an outside sitting so suggest to go after sun goes down. Friendly servers too. But only one thing, if you go there after 9pm, margaritas are usually sold out. But for the quality of the food and a good service, I will settle for beers! They are definitely my favorite taco place in town.

DONT GO HERE. I've given these people four chances and they messed up every time. This time they gave me MINI tacos and charged me full price! They told me the "flour tortillas come like that." Oh so I have to pay the same price for a taco the size of a LIME SLICE. Horrible customer service. Did not apologize, offer a reason or solution. Never going back!

We found this spot about a year a ago. It's pretty good but I have to say it's sometimes hit or miss. I hear the one on rivers isn't as good as this location so we never go and this location does hit the spot. Growing up in San Diego and going to TJ, we have pretty high expectations so i really do have to try to be more forgiving. I'm giving them 4 stars because it's the only one we had here that hit the spot and we haven't found one anywhere else. There are times when we order that I'm pretty dissatisfied so I pick off my kids food, and there are times I'm like yesss that was bomb.

If you're someone for whom ambience is a crucial part of the dining experience, you have to get over that, or you have to go somewhere else to eat. Tiki Taco is about really good Mexican food, and nothing else. And, when I say "nothing else", I mean that they do not have a proper building to dine in per se. They have something like a large garden gazebo or something that has high-top mismatched tables and chairs. The structure you're eating in is open air - it doesn't have windows, and the walls are only half walls. In the winter they put plastic over the open parts to try to keep the wind out. This place gets five stars anyway. The food is that good. In fact, it's so good, that if rating on just food quality alone, this is my favorite restaurant in Summerville. I've had nearly everything on the menu at Tiki Taco, and I've loved every bite of it. It's fantastic. I'm not such an authority that I can tell you how authentic it is, or that they do this really crucial thing that only "real" Mexican chefs know how to do. I'm just saying it's among the best Mexican food I've ever had.

Woke up in a bad mood this morning. Knew I just needed something filling to eat! Been eye-balling Tiki Taco for awhile. Was reluctant because it is literally a tiki hut, tiny brick building and food truck. That's it! Went this morning and now I'm mad I waited so long! My one and only complaint is that there's really no straight forward indication where to order. Some people were ordering at the truck, some at the building. Being that there was a language barrier there, it was just a little bit confusing at first. Whatever! No big deal! Their menu is extensive and authentic. The freshness of the produce just makes it so much better. Saw several people drinking Mexican sodas and different beverages. The chicken on my nachos was very tender and VERY flavorful. I just can't wait to go back again. If Taco Bell is your favorite place to go, this place is not for you.

I love tacos! Yesterday was Taco Tuesday and it hit me, I've never actually purposely eaten tacos on a Tuesday. So I went looking for authenticity. And boy did I find it! Chorizo, pollo, asada and carnitas. Lime on the side and radish. They were so good! They could have been a tad bit warmer, but that mild sauce was delish too! I'll definitely be back to try the fish taco. The price was reasonable as well.

Depending on what you are looking for this may not be the spot. Really good tacos but I was in the mood for a Mexican platter with rice and beans, not just tacos. Not really any ambiance or many food options, but has a place for hanging out with friends for drinks but not a date destination.

Wow! I have eaten at TIki Taco a few times at their Old Trolley rd location and the food and service was excellent. However, I decided to order from the College Park location while family was visiting and quite frankly I was embarrassed and appalled at the lack of responsibility the staff took when I was missing a few items. After talking with the staff and asking to speak with a manager I was told there was no manager there which I call 100% BS. After arriving at the college park location it was clear the restaurant was packed out and so busy that the staff were confused and could not operate their own system of online orders and pick up. The name tag on the receipt was User: Dee. I called them after I compared the the online order to the pick up receipt and the worker who answered after telling me there was no manager there said the company would not do anything to compensate us for the lack of competence and professionalism any organization should have that are charging people hard earned money for convenience and hospitality. Not only was I embarrassed for myself and family but I was embarrassed for the entire organization of TIKI Taco. If I could give this company a negative 5 stars I would. Sincerely, A disappointed prior customer.

Solid choice for our taco cravings. Outdoor seating and very casual eating with taco truck vibe. Nothing fancy here but the tacos were authentic and service was good. Prices also decent. Make sure to order an ear of corn too.

The tacos Americano are literally THE BEST tacos I've had in my entire life! The service was sooo nice but there is certainly a language barrier. Also ordered the pollo tamale and pollo nachos. They were good but those tacos were hard to top. The beef is seasoned so damn well! I tried horchata for the first time as well. Definitely something I can live without but I don't regret it at all.

We found this awesome authentic mexican restaurant on our way home on Easter Sunday. It was a nice day so we sat outside with our dog and enjoyed the carnitas and asada tacos, all homemade! Super delicious food, a real treat and we will definitely stop again next time we drive through Summerville. Fantastic service and clean bathroom!

I am from Mexico, after Mexico I moved to Cali and after that I moved to FL and KY.. so far The Tiki Taco are the best tacos I have tried in the USA after California tacos! It is a little hole in the wall. My husband and I ordered to go around 7:30pm but the place was packed! (For good reason) my husband really enjoyed the Asada torta. I had 4 tacos. One tripa, one asada and 2 pastor tacos. All of them really good! The salsas are spicy (just the way they should be). I am going back today because my pregnancy wants real Mexican food and this is the closest I can get to Mexico tacos!! Highly recommend them!

Went here with my wife on Monday. Both of us were hungry and wanted food fast. We passed by and were happy with outdoor seating because of Covid. We sat down, I ordered a corona and the server was very very nice. I got the combo fajitas and a carnitas taco and my wife got a salad and Mexican street corn and everything was amazing! The prices are super affordable which is a huge plus and it was completely filling. I was so surprised this place was soo good and it was recommended to me a few times, but looks can be deceiving since I was hesitant to go until I gave in and went. Now it has to be a weekly or biweekly place for my wife and I!

Just happen to give this a try one afternoon after work and was pleasantly surprised. I went to the one on Rivers Avenue their food is reasonable and as close to authentic as I have found. I will definitely be back.
